In my state, no sex is a part of separation. If the spouses have sex, then the separation is either over or the date of separation changes. Don't fall for it!

This is what happens when the government incentivizes divorce for women. She thought she had a foolproof plan, but fortunately she was a fool herself. Count your blessings brother.

If you were the one doing the stalking (and let's be real, thats what it is), I wonder if you would've gotten the same support. I mean, I get the background check, or at least one, but the rest is too much unless she really wanted you to be divorced. She was probably trying to see if there was DV involved, but still this could be a major red flag. Move carefully.

Yea, the delusion is real. 6 feet, 6 figures, 6 pack. Women think these guys grow on trees when they are rare. Her being picky is just going to enlighten her that much faster.

Women have always been able to easily hookup with randoms. The problem is getting those randoms to COMMIT to them. Men are waking up and seeing the system for what it is. You can read articles everywhere on how men aren't dating or marrying anymore. Trust me brother, you're in a stronger position than you know.

Because women report mgtow, and use emotional blackmail to get people to think that its something other than it is.

Thats crazy! Your religious preferences didn't matter when you got married, so why should they matter now?! I can stand how random this all feels. Its like a literal roll of the dice. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure it's a common question that has to have a safe answer. In this case, my wife has nothing like that going on.

Sad but true. Then the world goes on and on about the "plight of the single mother". They don't realize they're the ones creating the problem.

You might want to look into getting your passport and looking overseas for family material. Countries where women are raised with traditional values and ethics are likely what you're looking for, as opposed to the "modern" women of the west.

The red pill is basically a reference to the matrix. Taking a pill to learn the truth of the world. In the case of men its learning that we've been fed a lie that being providers and protectors will equate to a happy, stable life. Bpd is borderline personality disorder. Not really sure how it applies in this context.

Unfortunately (or not), I don't have anything like that to report. Our marriage basically devolved into being roommates that have kids. I tried to talk us through it, and got us counseling, but it was a lost cause. If not for the kids, we'd never communicate. I'm glad things worked out for you. I hate the idea of rolling the dice and hoping the judge is having a good day.

I'm actually working the calculations now to send to my attorney. I'm hoping the court, or whatever expert they call on, takes our actual separation date into consideration.

100%. My boys are already talking about not wanting to get married, but it's because you have to kiss at the ceremony (gives you an idea of ages). Either way, I'll ensure they are educated and know that they don't have to follow society's roadmap, like I thought I did. I greatly appreciate your words of encouragement. Thank you truly.

Let me be devils advocate. When married, your finances become marriage finances. She sacrificed her best earning potential years to raise the children while freeing you to maximize your own earning potential. I understand what you're saying, and under normal circumstances you'd be right. First off, I am paying alimony. We've setttled that much already, but to answer your question, my wife didn't sacrifice anything. I encouraged her to work (double income beats single everyday of the week), and s…
/r/Divorce_Men03/02/23 04:18 PM

I did both, believe it or not. I provided while spending time with her and the kids. She was the one that pulled away.
/r/Divorce_Men03/02/23 03:43 PM

Our alimony has already been settled in mediation. Its only for a few months, so its not that bad. My issue now is my pension, retirement, and child support. Apparently my state sees CS as a separate income, so she's in a position to collect all three.

We're told if we don't provide, we're worthless. Then we're punished for providing too well. A sick cycle.

Thank you so much! I'll have to decide quickly about the new counsel. After looking over the parental agreement, it actually seems fair and well put together ( 50/50, week on week off, holidays split by even and odd years for parent priority, etc ). My main gripe is the child support with joint custody, but I'm starting to realize that's going to happen regardless. If I got other counsel at this point, it would be to deal with my pension and retirement accounts. Its going to be real awkward tell…

It may not be unique, but it hurts all the same. I can barely sleep due to worry. We were fortunate to get a spousal support agreement that only last a few months, so at least there's that. She didn't stay at home all the time, but eventually stopped working and now has a huge gap in her resume.

Thank you very much. I'll see about postponing the hearing (while I look for better representation) while I draw this up. My only question is: why would the judge take the time to read a full declaration, when she's not willing to hear it out verbally? Thanks again.
/r/Divorce_Men03/02/23 04:54 AM
0

You may be right about that. I thought that the short notice timeline would make it difficult to get something like that processed; at least that's what i'd hope my attorney's reasoning would be. The whole thing feels so rushed and hurried. I feel like the judge just wants to get it over with and move on to the next victim.
/r/Divorce_Men03/02/23 03:43 AM

Thank you. I'll bring up the declaration when I speak to my real lawyer.

I feel like doing all those things you suggested. A bottle is looking real good right now too. Everything is feeling so rushed, and my back is up against the wall. I either have to take the 50/50, or roll the dice in court for full custody, which feels like a battle that was lost before it even started. I have a few days to think things over though. It's nice to know someone gives a damn. Thank you.

I know all this now. Sadly, I married before I knew the truth of the world. If anything I'll ensure my boys are taught better than I was.

A bit too late for that. Getting someone new would mean having to re-file, or lose my place "in line" for the hearing. There wouldn't be time to get someone new spun up on the case as well.

If you figure it out, you'll be the first to know. All I know is that my county recently asked for a couple of million from the government to ask for additional help with the backlog. My attorney and I have already been in front of the judge, through mediation, and now this is all that's left. Like I said, I'd love to have a way to confirm the wait times, but I don't have one.
/r/Divorce_Men24/01/23 12:16 AM
1

How can I confirm? I tried to call the court myself and got my hand slapped, and tattled on to my attorney by the registrar. I tried to get family to pose as someone about to get a divorce to ask about wait times, and they got told that they needed to file first.

Where exactly does your agreement say the designated place for exchange is? It sounds to me like she's not honoring the agreement, and if that's the case, you can probably call her on it in court. If she tries to keep your boys from you, that can be seen as parental alienation, which would be bad for her. See your lawyer and reassess the situation.
/r/Divorce_Men23/01/23 05:51 AM
2

Sorry to hear that man. The fact is that attorney's know the longer this drags out, the more they get paid. Which is weird since she said the bill was getting too high. Make sure you have what you agreed to on paper, so you can show the judge when the time comes that you tried to cooperate. It might help you when it's time for the final judgment. Hang in there brother.

CA is so anti-male when it comes to family court its not funny. Her salary MAY help you, but I wouldn't risk it. Talk to a lawyer just in case to get an idea on how custody might go.

What she's not saying is that while she withheld sex for months, he was still expected to give her what she wanted. Namely his time/attention, and resources. A one-sided relationship for a quarter of a year would make anyone lose patience. I agree with OP, if a woman does this, move on.

I believe that if a woman is raped, or if the pregnancy poses a risk to mother, child, or both then an abortion should be used. The problem is that most women today use it as a primary firm of birth control rather than the last resort that it used to be. There are dozens of protection options available. At least one should be acceptable.

It's funny. If a woman gets drunk and jumps in a car, the police that pull her over isn't going to say that she wasn't in the right mind to make a choice to drive and escort her home; her ass is going to jail. However, add to equally drunk people, who both say yes, and all the events that have to happen from the party, the trip home, to the bedroom, and the sex and all of a sudden she couldn't possibly have been in the right frame of mind? It's pathetic that they teach this mindset in high schoo…

Think of it this way: You're not a woman. You don't have a deadline/timeliness to get married and start a family. Those people who are pushing you likely have another agenda. Like they want to be grandparents, or something. Its a short term commitment for them, a life long one for you. Everyone in this sub fell for the fantasy of "the one" at some point in time. The custody will likely come down to the court to decide which of us is better suited for custody. We're on speaking terms, basically just about our child, and unfortunately we still co-habitate. I'…

I have a feeling that this post misses the point of the subreddit. If OP is the woman in the picture, well this is divorced Men. Otherwise whats the point of posting a picture of the Ex? Am I missing something?

That's refreshing, thank you. I'll make sure my attorney has that information as well.

I'm no lawyer, but i'm sure i'll be going through something similar when custody comes into play. With that said, I think any evidence of alienation would work in your favor. A sometimes parent suddenly trying to become a always parent is suspicious as is. It would've been great if you had a record of the alternating nights agreement. Try to get her admitting to the agreement and admitting that she isn't following it. The more ammo in your arsenal, the better.

This may be a long shot, but I would check with your state's laws on consent regarding recording another person. If you live in a single consent state (i.e. as long as you're good with it, then it's not illegal) I would record the times that she interferes with your duties. May make a stronger case. Alternatives could be getting up earlier to do your chores, or cooking meals ahead of time so all that's left is to warm them up. Hope this helps.

Im currently serving and going through a divorce. The amount of men that have come to me and told me that they've been through what im going through is staggering! Some of the finest men I've had the pleasure of serving with have had to deal with rhe pain of divorce. So this isnt surprising.

Sadly, my divorce is currently stalled due to the courts being closed. However, I plan to follow Coach Greg Adams' and Donovan Sharpe's advice and just take at least 6 months focusing on bettering myself. No video games, porn, or booze. Spending more time in the gym, learning a skill and/or language, reading books, and selling things I don't need anymore.

Courts in my state are already closing due to this. All "non-essential" domestic cases will resume in May. 3 guesses where they place divorces, but you should only need one.

Relationships are like interviews at jobs. At first, you put your best foot forward to make an impression (girlfriend). You say the right things, look the right way, and work hard to impress. However, after you get pass the probation period and are made a full fledged employee (marriage), you slack off cause you're not trying to impress anymore. If they fire you (divorce) you get to collect unemployment (alimony/child support).

Marriage agian? Nope. There is seriously no benefit in it for men in this day and age. Family court laws are usually biased towards women. As for a pre-nup, it depends. They are no longer the iron clad documents they used to be. They can be overruled by a judge depending on several factors, like children being added to the mix. Check your state's laws to see what could result in a overruling.

Thanks for the feedback. In the end, i'm military with at least 5 more years to go, so we are going to go our own way eventually; being with me would be what's best for our kid. Her main interaction with the kid is that she takes him to school in the morning. I pick him up, play with him, do lessons (workbooks) with him, shower him, and put him to bed. On her off days, she's still absent, with the exceptional trip to the park once every blue moon. I take him to parks, zoos, museums, bike rides, …

I'm military so they default responsibility to the state you were married in these cases. I'm overseas now, but my next base should be in Texas. Like I said, i was going to go 50/50 custody until I learned that child support isn't based in time spent, but rather who makes the most money. It makes no sense to have equal time, but only one person pays support. Anyway, I hope you're right and it's not one sided. I don't hate my wife, but this isn't a relationship anymore. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks for the feedback. We were married in Georgia so they have final say. I'm not sure how I can prove she's unfit. She spends most of her time locked away I her room if she's not at work. If I took our son to school in the mornings, she would probably never see him. Something tells me taking a picture of a closed door everyday won't help though, thus me taking all the pictures of us together. So sad that women claim to want equality, but are happy to be silent when the tide favors them.

Most men are guilted into marriage, plain and simple. A guy going out with a woman has very little to gain by marrying her with the exception of children. However, society, family, and the SO will make the guy feel like less of a man for "wasting her time", or "not manning up" and dedicating himself to her. In the end a lot of men are getting wise to the idea that that marriage industry is not in place for the benefit of men, but for the support of women.

The way I understand it, the time one has with the child isn't the issue. The issue is how much money one makes. Basically meaning that the parent that makes more money may still have to pay child support to the other parent. Concerning her leaving late at night, you may want to check the laws in your state. Many states are cracking down about leaving children under a certain age alone (home, car, etc) regardless of the circumstance. If that's the case, then your wife may be in violation.

Document when she left, and for how long she's been gone. I was once told never to leave because leaving is basically a sign of deserting the child, so that may work in your favor. Save any and all bank statements to show how much you provide, and how little she contributes. If she is unable to take care of herself, then she's unable to take care of herself and a child. Ensure that you and your lawyer are on the same page concerning this. Hope this helps.

Don't let her guilt you into leaving (especially, with some "that's what a man does BS"), it's a trap! Leaving will reflect poorly on you in the long run, even if you had the best intentions. I can tell you from experience that co-habitating after the divorce gauntlet has been thrown is a nightmare, but until the papers are finalized, don't do anything that will count against you. Her refusal to look for work is already a strike against her, so just keep letting her dig her own grave. Document e…

When I thought my wife might try something like this, I wanted to put cameras around the house without her knowledge, but was told that may be illegal. However, if you were to do so, and tell her about them, you may be covered. I know you don't want legal advice, but you might want to ask your lawyer about this. The only real way to ensure that you're covered is to have proof that you did nothing wrong. Your son may be on your side, but your daughter may be with her, and in this day and age, an …

Sounds like you are either afraid of a future where you don't know what will happen, or you've got a case of sunk cost fallacy (the hope that the effort you put into something will eventually pay off in the end). I dealt with both of these before I started my divorce process. Not knowing what will happen is terrifying, especially when it comes to not having someone in your live that has been there for years. Most people would rather stay in a familiar situation, even if it makes them miserable r…

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I'll be heading back to GA soon to do the same, so I feel your pain. When my parent separated, my mom left for an apartment while leaving my dad to sell the house. That would be my advice to you as far as affording the apartment. It's up to you to decide who will sell it though. Also, it goes without saying, but lawyer up. If you can come up with an agreement as far as time with the kids and money, great, but don't rely on the two of you suddenly coming t…

Sorry to hear that brother, those were red flags to be sure. My wife only wore hers outside, like it was for show or a status thing. I wore mine 24/7 only taking it off to shower. When I confronted her bout it, she complained about the size but refused to let me get a refit, it buy a new one.

The ring is a symbol of your union. When the union is over (and I don't mean legally), it's time to remove the symbol. I stopped wearing mine when I knew we were done.

No experience here, but if possible, i'd check for his records online (a google search for "individual background check" pulls up alot of different tools) to ensure he's not on some list or something. If religion is big for you, you may want to inquire about his beliefs. Your ex shouldn't let anyone discipline your child (without putting some YEARS in, at least), so his ideas about parenthood would coincide here. Hope this helps.

Can't say that I agree with his actions, but it's not my place to judge. I would definately recommend he go to some kind of counseling, or try to reopen communication with his ex. I think you're right that this is something that will stick with him for a long time; he may never get over it if he doesn't address it before it's too late.

Guilt is definately a option. Cheating on someone only to later find out that they have cancer could be a serious blow to the conscience. However, I think the real reason is the fact that during the divorce process most people try to distance themselves from their stbx's in order to protect themselves. In some cases, they want to protect themselves from the memories of the relationship (good or bad), the the constant fear that the new change will bring. In this case, someone your boyfriend spent…

How long have you been together? Before I told my wife that I wanted a divorce, I tried numerous times to "fix" the problems we had. The truth was that I was afraid of the unknown. When you've been together with someone for a long time, the thought of being without that person and not knowing what will happen is terrifying. People get so comfortable with a familiar situation that they would prefer to stay unhappy than risk venturing into unfamiliar territory. Ask yourself: What are you afraid wi…

Thank you, it's my pleasure to serve 😊. It's true, we have grown apart. The fact is that we've become such a familiar part of each other's lives, that it's hard to see us not being around. But I've let that fear hold me back for years now, and I'm done with it. As my h as I hate to say it, she has become a standard dependa, and now she knows where she will be without me. Don't get me wrong though, I don't hate her, dislike her, or have any ill will towards her. I just can't fake the relationship…

Emotional spouses always make a situation more difficult. I personally hate it when people blame their intolerable behavior on something like diabetes rather than taking responsibility. As for your situation, I would double check to ensure how stable this new job is. It would be a shame for you to take it, and they start laying people off. If you feel that it is a secure choice, then move forward. The in-laws coming over every once in a while is nice, but nowhere near as beneficial as an additio…

It's ok to be afraid. Being afraid and moving forward is what makes you an adult and a man. Just know that suicide is never the answer, and there is no shame in seeking help. Your kids still need a father, so stay strong for them.
