Just a rant, but in a few weeks I'll have officially filed 3 years ago and I'm still waiting for a final court date. I mean, is this normal?! I heard that thanks to the pandemic, my state was prioritizing criminal cases over civil ones, but holy crap how much crime could there have been while people were in their homes on lockdown? All that's left in my case is to decide custody and to see if my wife gets any of my pension/401k. You're probably thinking that the obvious move is to settle it ourselves, but the initial "agreement" my wife's lawyer sent a few weeks ago essentially made me a two weekend a month walking ATM, so that's a no-go. My lawyer says they keep checking on possible dates, and keep getting the same "we'll let you know when we can" run-around. At this point it is beyond frustrating, and the fact that we co-habitate doesn't make it better. I'm starting to doubt my lawyer is doing everything possible, but what can I do? Anyone out there been through something similar? Is there anyway to get the wheels of justice turning a bit faster? Thanks for hearing me out.
