Most men need better friendships but the best male friendships in the world aren’t going to end a guys loneliness

The vast majority of trans people transition socially, living and presenting as the opposite gender long before they reach surgery. A man living as a woman for a year would have a much more encouraging experience than a woman living as a man.

Im 26. I’ve never lived in a time or place where that was the case, and neither have any of the women I’ve dated or that have rejected me, so it doesn’t seem very relevant
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/23 09:17 PM
15

I’m sure it’s a great life for all twelve of them, but if the rest of us had to wait for signs of interest from women to make a move, we’d all die alone
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 02:43 PM

Men can’t psychically read women’s minds to know who is and isn’t attracted to them, so we have to just to try and hope it works. And to hear women say it, many of them aren’t even attracted to men at all until they’ve known each other awhile
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 02:25 PM
13

That’s because womens “signs of interest” are indistinguishable from complete indifference.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 02:22 PM

Some men are genuinely attracted to fat women. With the trends we’ve seen in boob jobs and BBLs over the past few years, we’re a few steps away from My 600lb Life becoming the new beauty standard
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 02:20 PM
7

Because overwhelmingly, men don’t get angry when ugly women are attracted to them
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/23 02:19 PM

Most women don’t understand because they’ve never been in this position. For them it’s always been either A) a stranger asks them out (cold approach, tinder, whatever), B) a friend asks them out and they say yes, in which case it’s “I prefer to be friends first to see if we’re compatible”, or C) a friend asks them out and they say no, in which case it’s “ugh he was just pretending to be my friend to sleep with me, men are disgusting”. Most women have never been on the opposite end of any of thes…

It exists but it’s self inflicted for all but the most extreme cases
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/23 06:07 PM

Except maybe dating apps, widespread obesity is probably the single most harmful factor to the dating world
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/23 06:05 PM

More for the rest of us I guess

We don’t have zero agency but we have significant less. And that discrepancy doesn’t come from an inherent fault of men, which would be misandrist, but from economic and social conditions
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/23 05:27 PM

We should take systemic actions to address widespread issues but at the end of the day an individuals decision is an individuals decision.

I’m 26, going on about five years of involuntary celibacy after the relationship where I lost my virginity. Most of my life I’ve wanted casual sex, or more accurately, semi regular access to it. As I’ve gotten more and more lonely over time, that desire has decreased and my desire for a long term relationship has increased

Bro 10 year olds learn about hyperbole in elementary school. Do you think everyone who says “I’m so hungry I could eat a horse” is being literal?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/23 09:54 PM

Hyperbole isnt strawmanning
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/23 03:40 PM

Sounds pretty childish to me

Women have a huge in group bias, and men have a huge women bias. So much of society makes sense when you realize this.

Either you didn’t work out enough, or more likely, you didn’t diet enough. Basically every person that claims to be unable to lose weight, upon further investigation, is not actually in a caloric deficit. Are you the magical exception?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/23 03:24 PM

Depends on the scale you’re using, lots of people view 6-7 as average because that’s a C in the US school grading system.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/23 02:25 AM
1

Im currently in the throes of being head over heels in love with a random tiktok girl who most men would probably see as a 6-7/10 but who is a 100000/10 to me

Modern Americans have severely warped perceptions on weight. What you perceive as normal is overweight, “slightly overweight” is likely “clinically obese”, and it’s only the my 600lb life types that you actually recognize as obese. Food companies (especially fast food) have crammed as many calories into our diets as they possibly could over the past few decades, and it doesn’t really matter how much you rock climb and canoe, you can’t out exercise a bad diet.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/23 02:12 AM

Sure there are plenty of active women who are heavier than Victoria’s Secret models but that isn’t actually a standard that most men have.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:33 PM

but in reality most incels are docile shy guys who are terribly afraid of being found out as incels. Exactly. If you live in a populated area you probably walk by a dozen incels everyday and have no idea. If it’s a college campus, more like a hundred.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:27 PM
8

It’s easy to claim you’re active and obese, but it’s not really that common. Obese people usually aren’t active and active people don’t stay obese. And unfortunately it’s considered a faux pas to put “no fat chicks” in your profile
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:20 PM
5

But it heavily correlates
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:16 PM

woman who’s BMI is 35… eats cleanly Not this one because I don’t want to watch someone vacuum up four pounds of rice and chicken everyday, which is what it would take to be obese AND eat cleanly
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:16 PM
4

Yeah but I can’t put “no fat chicks” in my profile
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:14 PM

In 99% of cases, yes, skinny does equal healthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:13 PM

With modern diets it’s difficult to be normal weight and NOT be somewhat active/sporty in some way, so there’s a significant overlap
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:10 PM

One of those boundaries being “don’t approach while ugly”
/r/seduction01/06/23 02:02 PM

Women still have more agency to avoid those situations than men have agency to find relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/23 05:33 PM
3

They do, in droves
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/23 05:31 PM
1

They’re not identical or on the exact same level but both are evil. Raping a drunk woman is worse but taking advantage of a lonely person for profit is still evil. Yeah he has a choice but so do gambling addicts and casinos profiting off them are still evil too
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/23 05:31 PM

“All women are pretty” just shows that the speaker doesn’t even count women who aren’t pretty as women Yeah when you maliciously misinterpret someone’s words beyond their intention, anything can mean anything
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/23 03:41 AM

I would have guessed 40s for him, 30s for her

/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/23 02:05 AM

Every place that it is “socially unacceptable” to approach a woman, it is socially acceptable for a woman to have been successfully approached (past tense). Funny how that works out

The average woman on a dating app isn’t exactly an award winning photographer either, they just, y’know, are women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/23 04:09 AM

Women will tell us it’s our profiles and attitudes is why we don’t have success. Just world fallacy. They don’t want to believe that the world is unfair so they seek a reason to believe other wise
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 09:53 PM
6

Im sure it sucks to be strung along for sex, but a non-zero number of men on the platform are genuine and women have the agency to find them.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 09:46 PM
3

It’ll never compare. Women have a plethora of options to deal with their dating app issues but mens dating all issues are more fundamental. Women can always block creeps but men can’t just conjure interest out of the void
/r/PurplePillDebate08/05/23 09:38 PM

we’re perfectly fine staying single This is not true lol. Women are just as likely to get sad and bitter and lonely as men, they just aren’t the pursuing gender so instead of turning to pickup artistry or black pill or whatever, they convince themselves they’re happy alone and continue their strategy of waiting around for someone else to make a move on them. It’s literal cope

The dating process kills romanticism in men.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/23 12:27 AM

Ironically this is why women have easier access to sex in the first place. If women and the same sex drives as men, everyone would be fucking all the time and no one would be complaining.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/23 05:19 PM
1

It’s easier for women to get sex at all, good or bad. Men have to put in effort to get sex and then there is a risk of bad sex on top it.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/23 05:12 PM

That may be true but I’m also confident many women overestimate the need for this “bailout”. You’re going to say something like “you don’t how dangerous it is to refuse a man” but most men are just normal people. Some guy spends twenty minutes working up the nerve to say hi to a pretty girl at a bar and y’all treat it like a hostage situation.

What is your point? That perpetrators of genocide believe in the importance of genetic heritage so I should too?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/23 11:40 PM
1

You have that backwards, if I donate 99% of my money, my children, biological or otherwise, would be destitute. If Bill Gates donated 99% of his money, his children would be hundred millionaires. And that's all besides the point, which is that genetic heritage is completely worthless and not worth caring about. Your children are the children you raise, and your parents are the people who raised you, genetic link or not. I'm sure it's nice for your kid to have their mothers eyes or fathers nose o…

It's not instinctual, its cultural. For hundreds of thousands of years, no one gave a shit about a "legacy" because there was no such thing. If you grew up in a different culture, you wouldn't give a shit, either. I'd rather raise an unrelated adopted child with my values than some little dick who happens to share 50% of my evolutionary bar code.

It’s hilarious when men on this sub talk about “raising another man’s legacy” like he’s fucking tywin Lannister. Your legacy is way more than your genes. I couldn’t give less of a shit about my genes, there’s like the serial number of organic life. Why should I care?

Women have dating strategies?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/23 05:18 PM

There are an order of magnitude more straight men than gay women. A bi women with perfectly 50/50 attraction to men and women would end up with a man 9/10 times by statistics alone.

My first thought is appearance and/or bf% but we all know those aren’t significant obstacles to women. In practice, the only way to really be a femcel is to avoid or be caused to avoid contact with men (and the outside world in general). I’m thinking mental health issues, severe social anxiety, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/23 03:18 PM
8

Yeah, all twelve of them
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/23 02:45 PM
9

I’ll be asking these but not because I’m a tradpill psycho, but because I’m actually a more than averagely clean person who likes to cook. So I’m really not interested in a woman who isn’t the same way. If you’re a man and you’re a messy slob who lives off microwave dinners you have to no right to demand a maid and a chef. And you don’t want it because it’s “trad” or “woman’s work” or whatever, you want it because you’re a lazy piece of shit
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/23 01:20 PM

Your issue is with the entire concept of analogies? I say this completely unironically and without hostility: are you autistic?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 06:39 PM
1

Yeah all analogies work when you only focus on the part that’s being compared. That’s the idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 04:39 PM
2

The analogy isn’t the argument, it’s an explanatory comparison. The claim is men shouldn’t ask women for dating advice. The argument is because women don’t understand or have experience trying to date women. You may disagree with the argument. You may think the analogy is silly. But it’s a perfectly competent analogy that maps onto the claim and argument being made just fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 03:48 PM
4

It illustrates its point perfectly, you just don’t agree with the point. Which is fine, but you’re wayyyyyyy missing the forest for the trees by getting bogged down in irrelevant details.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 03:45 PM
2

Analogies are used to illustrate a point. You might as well be saying this analogy doesn’t work because women don’t have scales. Obviously that’s not the part of the analogy that is being referenced.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 03:44 PM
1

I’m gonna bring in some elementary school level worksheets on analogies and maybe then the bluepillers here can catch up
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 03:40 PM
5

ALL analogies ignore the fundamental way two things are different. That’s how analogies work. It’s like saying “he’s as blind as a bat” is a bad analogy because he doesn’t have wings. Obviously that’s not the point and it’s silly to focus on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/22 03:37 PM
6

I think this, exacerbated by social factors, would also explain the huge gender gap in submissive/dominant sexual preferences in men and women.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 06:05 AM

It’s both. I actually have a close friendship with a woman who I am emotionally connected with, and I could afford to see a nice prostitute on a regular basis, but I wouldn’t be happy with that situation. Neither sex nor connection are sufficient separately

I think that’s a media myth. Child sexual assault may be a factor in causing pedophilia in adults but its mostly genetic, according to modern research

The "women complaining about men not doing their fair share of housework" is frustrating because I'm probably cleaner than 90% of the women here but that doesn't help you get into the relationship in the first place

I agree that a porn collection is an obstacle to an LTR, but I don’t think the investment is the problem. You could say the same thing about time and money spent on a movie, game, art, any collection really. The emotional connection thing is debatable. The real obstacle that a porn collection poses is just the stigma. Porn collections are weird and the number of potential partners who wouldn’t be turned off by it is low

So when it comes to dating women, a few men have it as easy as nearly all women, that’s reassuring. There are more men dating women by an order of magnitude than women dating women, so of course in absolute quantity more men are getting pussy but a much higher percentage of women are.

I think I could do an open relationship if me and my partner were only allowed to have sex with women. No relationships, no feelings, just casual sex, so not technically polyamory. Possibly. I don’t feel any special connection to being a man. Even if I keep my sexual orientation, lesbians have it easier dating women than straight men do. Sexual novelty, meaning new and different sexual partners, is experienced by both genders. It’s biological. Even if a man (or woman) had all the status and recognition in the world, they would still instinctively desire new sexual partners because that was a mating strategy that led to the propagation of our species millions of years ago. Unlike, say, certain birds, humans don’t instinctively mate for life. We did not evolve to do so.

Women here having more relationships isn’t due to any special knowledge or understanding of dating and romance. It’s because they’re women and it’s easier for them. It’s like saying you trust a tall person to have more basketball knowledge because they’re better at than a short person, when in reality the short person may have more knowledge about basketball but is stuck at a disadvantage.

This is a good way to put it. Guys who got a lot of casual sex before settling down usually don’t care if their long term partner also had a lot of casual sex. It’s a jealousy thing, where the guy who got ignored his whole life ends up in the AF/BB situation. And that’s valid jealousy imo

All of the problems described on this sub are caused by two things: biology, which we can do nothing about, and economic conditions, including low pay, low home ownership, no money to go out, isolation from car centric city planning, obesity rates, etc. in a word: capitalism. Post agricultural civilization is relatively recent phenomenon in human history so while monogamy has existed for basically all of recorded history that’s still only a fraction of the time humans have been here. There’s a pretty convincing argument that agriculture led to property which led to both monogamy and patriarchy in general because before property there was no reason to care about paternal certainty because you had nothing to pass on to your children

There’s a really good book called Sex at Dawn that looks at human sexuality from an anthropological viewpoint and the conclusion is basically that long term (lifetime) monogamy is simply not human nature. Especially men but also women are designed to seek sexual novelty. It’s a lot to ask anyone to only have sex with one person for the rest of their lives without getting bored. That isn’t to say that Those men are justified though. They should be talking to their wives and/or a counselor instead…

The fact that women receive penetration in sex isn’t the reason. If that was the case, gay male bottoms would be just as selective but they aren’t. They receive penetration and are equally (or near equally) vulnerable to violence from other men. Better explanations are female risk of pregnancy or just lower female sex drive.

On bisexuality: non-bi gay people are less than 10% of the general population so you would expect bi people’s partners to be straight approximately 9/10 times just due to probability. Ie, if you’re bi and 9/10 people you meet are straight, there’s a base 9/10 chance your partner will be straight before any other factors are considered

The rate of male procreation in history is potentially a misleading statistic because recorded history is only a fraction of the total human history. Anatomically modern humans, indistinguishable from you and I, appeared in Africa nearly 300,000 years before the first agricultural society was formed. What percentage of males procreated for that entire period?

My pressure is entirely internal thank you very much. A few years ago I was in a friend group and me and one of the girls started quietly hooking up for a few weeks. Even though she didn’t want to go further, I was definitely happier during those few weeks than before or after, even though no one else ever knew to this day, so there was no effect on my social standing. Is there social pressure to be in a relationship? Absolutely. But it’s not the source of discontentment among single men, it’s j…

That’s fine, there’s no reason to keep expanding the population on earth and with modern technology a younger generation that is slightly smaller than a older generation is capable of taking care of the older one. We can keep the population change at a stable slightly decaying rate for few decades no problem.

Moral judgement are one thing, but I’m saying using the term Chad on the internet, or being dissatisfied with the dating world, or being a red/purple/black pill, are not what is preventing those people from dating. (Unless they bring those topics up on dates, which I’m sure is not common).

But also I think that if it happened to me at 15-17ish I don’t think I would have suffered any harm. And I don’t think that should be controversial to say.

Then we are debating entirely different definitions of the term “power imbalance” and just talking past each other. Explain the power imbalance then. The power a teacher has over a student is self evident. What power does the rock star have?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/22 05:15 PM
4

It’s rare but it happens. A fan might want sex with a rock star they like more than rock star because the rock star can just line up another fan, or a non-fan who’s attracted to his status.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/22 03:34 AM
2

Teachers definitely have power over their students. Doctor is more of an edge case, but even without a power imbalance I wouldn’t want them treating people they’re romantically or sexually involved with
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/22 02:08 AM
3

Possibly, idk. The tiktoker said “recruiting college age girls to go backstage”, so that doesn’t sound underaged to me. Drugs can confuse consent for sure but only if they didn’t consent to take the drugs (spiked drinks, etc) or they took enough to completely fall unconscious
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/22 01:41 AM
3

Are these girls harmed by having sex with famous people they like? If they’re underage or drunk/drugged, that’s one thing, but consensual sex between adults? Harmful?

“When someone uses the melting pot analogy it says a lot about how they think all Americans should be melted in a big pot” Listen to yourself
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 09:21 PM
9

Do you apply this logic to every common analogy? Life isn’t a roller coaster because you didn’t buy a ticket? America isn’t a melting pot because it doesn’t melt people? “Shall I compare you to a summers day” is actually an insult because summer days are hot and sweaty?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 09:08 PM
10

It doesn’t imply that. That’s not how analogies work. It’s really not that complicated.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 08:58 PM
14

I really don’t get what’s so confusing about this analogy. If you apply this level of scrutiny to any analogy, they all fall apart. You will notice that men using this analogy aren’t talking about hurting or killing women like they fishermen hurt fish, just like they also aren’t talking about trying to seduce women by using a boat and putting fish hooks in their food
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 08:11 PM
10

The point of the analogy is that men have to strategize to get sex/relationships with women, and that some techniques work better than others. Women also do this, actually. If a woman puts on a cute dress, styles her hair, puts on make up and goes to a bar, is she predatory because she’s trying to “catch” men?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 08:02 PM
15

Analogies are meant to illustrate a point not to translate into real life 100% or be completely logically consistent.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/22 07:51 PM
15

The fish analogy doesn’t mean male sexuality is predatory. Analogies are meant to illustrate a point not to translate into real life 100% or be completely logically consistent. A fish is harmed by being caught but a woman is not harmed by consensual sex.

Economic forces apply to, for example, art pieces which are all different and unique like humans. As long as people want it, and not everyone can have it, it can be examined economically. Everyone can have a painting but some paintings are more desired than others, and not everyone can have them. Economic forces apply. Everyone can have a relationship, but some people are more desired than others and not everyone can be in a relationship with them. Economic forces apply.

What does anyone have to offer anyone else in a relationship? All those things can be found in same age relationships and age gap relationships, as long as both parties are consenting. Those things are all loosely correlated to age at best. There are plenty of dumb, immature, insecure, socially inept 30 year olds out there. Sure, an intelligent, mature, self assured, socially adept, secure 30 year old can lie to an 18 year old to get sex, but so can another intelligent, mature, self assured, socially adept, secure 18 year old. Economic resources? Does having more money make one more likely to or capable of manipulation? Having more money is half the reason younger women are attracted to older men in the first place. Knowledge required to be a self sufficient adult? I don’t think knowing how to do your taxes, or clean the house, or set up a doctors appointment makes you more capable of manipulation either.

Absent coercion or violations of consent, which are bad and happen regardless of age, what power does a 28 year old man have over an 18 year old woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/22 01:17 PM

I’ve posted about this before but women saying “now that I’m older i would never ever even consider a younger a partner!” Because… of course you wouldn’t. Most women aren’t attracted to younger men in the first place so it’s easy to virtue signal about how you don’t even notice them. You’re example is a little different because 16 is obv too young for any adult but women apply this non-argument to 18 year olds, 20 year olds, even 22-25 year olds because of “brain development”.

It depends on the guys internal feelings so you can’t know with 100% certainty, but you can make a reasonable guess based on his behavior towards the girl vs other platonic friends, especially platonic female friends. Disagree on punishment. Prisons should only serve to prevent crime, through rehabilitation where it is possible and separation/isolation where rehabilitation is not possible. Society gains nothing from punishment, in fact we only stand to lose from punishment because it causes higher recidivism than rehabilitation. More crime is the price you pay for a punitive prison system. Someday, hopefully, we’ll look back in modern prisons the way today we look back on medieval dungeons.

In common usage, “Incel” merged with its “angry, misogynistic” connotation and mostly dropped the literal “involuntarily celibate” definition. It’s like calling a woman a bitch and being confused because she’s not a dog. The person calling the woman a bitch is only focused on the connotation not the definition.

Even if only 1/100 men on Tinder were actually interested in a long term relationship, that’s still a better position for a woman disinterested in casual sex than most/many men are in. It’s a lot easier to filter through 100 bad male matches in a week for 1 good one than 100 bad female matches in a year.

“Cultivate emotional intelligence and home making skills. Then seduce a high income earning woman.” This is the first thing you said in this thread. It’s insanely out of touch. You defended by saying high earning women DO exist, which is comically missing the point
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/22 05:43 PM

Yeah, I’m saying the attractiveness bar men have to meet for an LTR is lower than it is for casual sex, becuase women are the opposite, with higher standards for casual than LTR
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/22 05:36 PM
1

I don’t know why you’re trying to convince me that high income people exist. I haven’t disagree with that. You said “seduce a high income woman”. Seducing a high income woman with “emotional intelligence and home making skills” is terrible advice. It doesn’t matter if that’s a corporate lawyer or an Albanian singing cricket mogul.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/22 05:02 PM
1

I’m not saying high earning women don’t exist, I’m saying “cultivate emotional intelligence and homemaking skills [in the hope that a high earning woman will snatch you up and let you be her stay at home husband]” is terrible advice, because there are very few high earning people, half or less of them are women, and few of those women are going to want that. You might as well tell a person with financial issues to buy a lottery ticket or bet it all on black.

I think some of this is projection from vanilla men with normal/ average taste. MOST men like a blonde girl with big boobs, big butt, and big lips. They can’t imagine having different taste, so they say other men (like me) are lying when we say we do have different taste. Huge boobs, huge asses, etc are all a turn off to me but a regular dude might think I’m lying because he can’t imagine different taste
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/22 02:36 PM

My goodness, what an idea, why didn’t I think of that? Lol Despite the reputation earned from weird, non-representative internet trolls, I think most incels (and I’m including the whole category of involuntarily celibate men, not just those who self identify), would jump at the chance for an LTR. just in terms of appearance, the bar might be lower for an LTR than casual sex with a woman, but it’s still not a low bar.

Or because there are gay who would date them. It’s technically true but it ignores the factor of what the individual is attracted to. It ignores the spirit of the question of what an incel is. if I was a man but still had the knowledge I have I think this is probably what most women would answer to this question and I think it’s naive. Women are lulled into a falsely idealistic view of their own social skills because they are women, when in reality if they were men with the same knowledge socialization, platonic and romantic, would just be harder. You would press the same social buttons and receive less in return than a woman would in the same position.

It could be a grass is greener on the other side situation but I would definitely prefer a relationship with few friends. It seems pretty obvious actually. Simple logic. If women are only attracted to hot/wealthy men, most men are not hot or wealthy, and most men still find a relationship then logically it follows that most women are in relationships with men they are not attracted to. It doesn’t matter how emotional, sensual and sexual you are, for the same reason it doesn’t matter how big or small your penis is. By the time a girl sees these qualities, the guy has already passed the hard part, initial selection

But unlike what women in this thread frequently say, being “misogynistic” isn’t what’s preventing them from getting laid because, as OP claims, there are plenty of “misogynists” who DO get laid. Clearly being “misogynist” or not doesn’t actually have an effect on whether a man gets laid or not

Men who are attractive to a lot of women (“high value men”) logically only come in two types: men who want a committed monogamous relationship and men who want to hookup/serial date. The former self-select themselves out of the dating pool, so single women only see the latter

If you have a condition that causes you to gain 10% of your weight on the exact same diet, then eating 10% fewer calories to return to your prior healthy weight is not starving yourself. Conditions that cause weight gain don’t magically create new fat tissue. You still have to eat it.

I’ve been in a LTR before a few years ago, so I’m not on the same level as a KHV, but since then the entire female gender has been a brick wall, even after moving to a large university city. Isn’t that kind of a self fulfilling prophecy? Truerateme believes that most people fall in that range so they always rate people in that range. Someone could rated as a 4 in that sub and internalize that, when people they see in real life might actually rate them as a 6-7 because most people use the 1-10 scale they’re used to, which is the same as US grade averages and movie/video game reviews where 7/10 is average

There’s an emotional aspect to attraction not captured by the idea of objective beauty. Love makes someone more attractive, but that’s not a factor until the relationship is already established. I think most men understand that if they’re wives had their memories erased and had to choose between their husbands and a generic male celebrity or fashion model, she’s ditching the husband 10 times out of 10. Does that mean she doesn’t find her husband “the most beautiful person around”? No, it just me…

Women aren’t willing to date men who make less than them, or are less smart than them, artificially reducing their dating pool. I don’t think it has anything to do with her attractiveness, at least not directly. As for the overall point, it depends on how you judge attractiveness, but I don’t think so. “Fat” is relative, but I think there would be way fewer people who are unattractively fat if you magically brought everyone in the US under a 25bmi.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 08:03 PM
-1

I’m agreeing with you. Take the next step. Do men and women have equal distributions of SMV, as determined by the number of people of the opposite gender that are attracted to them? Not really. You seem to want to just accept that state of affairs. Im saying it would be better if that was not the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:45 PM
2

The would probably all be attractive to you if they are about 30lbs lighter
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:26 PM

I agree but that doesn’t make it a good thing.there are a lot of factors that contribute, and I’d argue net happiness would increase in society if that inflation didn’t exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:25 PM
3

I agree that it varies but I don’t think it’s actually that drastic. The fattest countries like the US have a higher tolerance for it but “more fat = less attractive” is pretty universal
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:22 PM
3

This is what keeps me going lol
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:14 PM
0

Not really. It would be more accurate to say it’s artificially inflated
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:13 PM
2

I don’t think this true because you still count the fat people. 100 fat and non-fat men want the 50 non-fat women and the 100 fat and non-fat women want the 50 non-fat men. It’s 100:50 in both directions, not 50:50 like you said. If you eliminated obesity, it would be 100:100.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:10 PM
2

Exactly. Decrease obesity, increase the ratio of attractive people of both genders
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:07 PM
5

I think that’s dramatic but basically correct
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:06 PM
1

That doesn’t help the scarcity either, but it would be a lot easier societally to reduce obesity than change all Mens sexuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:06 PM

You weren’t talking about “how do you get an LTR”, you were talking about “how do you become somebody women want to fuck?” The answers to those two questions are different.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:04 PM

Romances don’t just naturally develop. That’s just what it seems like from the perspective of a woman who is being successfully courted by a man. “We we’re friends and then it just naturally developed from there.” Yeah, because he was actively trying to make that happen the entire time. You only feel like you’re being approached like prey if he’s not successful, but he was viewing you as a potential partner the entire time. Also, “approaching women romantically is different from approaching them…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 07:02 PM

True but the number of people who are “overweight” due to muscle mass is pretty insufficient compared to obesity
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:52 PM
2

Preach brother
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:51 PM
5

Those are made up lol. They aren’t based in science. Yes everybody’s shaped differently, everyone carries fat in different amounts in different areas of the body BUT it’s a gradient. And the higher the number on the scale, the less likely you are to be attractive (to MOST people), whether you’re an apple or a grapefruit or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:48 PM
4

Right but most fat women don’t want to date fat men and Vice versa. So we have a situation where most fat and non-fat men are competing for the non-fat women, and most fat and non-fat women are competing for the non-fat men. If there were fewer fat people, there would be less competition. Theoretically.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:45 PM
4

totally overrating a normal weight woman I think that’s part of it. Like the OLD thing, Women are rated on a bell curve, men are rated on a cliff face. An “objective” 6/10 woman with an 7/10 man will be reported as an “ugly guy with a supermodel” because she’s above the curve for women but he’s not above the curve for men
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:42 PM
1

It would be nice, but that’s not the point.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:39 PM
0

We’re men, I call them worse to their face. The point is, romantically successful men don’t need all that stuff you cited. They don’t have to work on their lives before romance, either casual or LTRs. By saying incels need a financial independence and self actualization to be desirable, while “chad” is desirable while surfing couches and partying, you’re literally just proving “alpha fucks/beta bucks”.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:38 PM
1

There’s nothing wrong with having female friends. This comment bread was about approaching women differently for romance vs friendship. “Treat women like you would treat a friend” is a platitude, not good dating advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:31 PM
3

What do you mean by body type?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:04 PM
4

To each their own i guess lol
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 06:03 PM
3

It’s obviously not arbitrary. The higher you go for a given height, the fewer “body types” there are that will good look at that weight. There are a lot of attractive people at 5’4” 150, fewer at 5’4” 170, and so on. No one is evaluating attractiveness based only on numerical weight, but you can’t deny that (for most people) there’s a heavy reverse correlation between weight and attractiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 05:53 PM
6

I agree that they carry it different, but at that level I don’t think there’s any way to carry it that looks good

I see people say this all the time, but I never see it in real life, and I live in a major city. I think this a generalized halo effect being applied to all women. Like, no that’s not a pretty girl with an ugly guy, that’s a couple equally average attractiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 01:45 PM
1

It’s not about being a different person. It’s about pursuing a romantic relationship instead of a platonic one. You have to speak and act differently. You can’t just engage a person the same way you would a platonic friend for a while and then be like “oh, do you want to go on a date?” That’s how you get girls complaining about their guy “friends” who have just been waiting for the their entire “friendship” to confess their love
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/22 01:23 PM

The virtual world is more real than the spiritual world ever was. It's real people communicating through real objects using real forces. I don't even see the virtual world as separate from the material world. Everything virtual is happening within the material world.

Any analysis that tries to cram the varied history of empires into a rigid framework like that is never going to be more than a gross simplification. Conservatives like this fabricated narrative because it let's them imagine they are last remnants of greatness in a dissolving empire, and imagine that better days are always behind us.

I find it funny that cited natural and then “marriage” in the same breath. There’s no reason to believe that popular casual sex is the anomaly and that marriage is the natural state of things

My political beliefs are direct results of my core values. I do not see how anyone can arrive at significantly different beliefs without having different values.

If I had a high body count, I might feel differently. But if I had N=5 and my partner had N=36 at 23 I don't think I could ever feel like I was a second choice. Or 37th.

your brain thinks if sex as soon as a woman interacts with you I think if men were honest, the majority of us would admit this is true in most cases. Some guys are better at suppressing/ignoring it, but it’s instinctual

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but conventional attractiveness is objective and most people will date within their conventional “league”.

Pretty sure no one who talks about “leagues” thinks they are some kind of unbreakable law of nature. Most people will find the most success dating people of a similar level of attractiveness AND some people will find success dating someone who is more attractive than they are. Both are true.

Obviously conventionally attractive lesbians who are attracted to or don't mind unattractive lesbians are not the same group of people that are setting difficult standards for straight men. They are not a part of the equation that you are looking at.
