I'm sorry for your loss. I know it's cliche... but what would your dad say? I'm sure he would want you to get back on the horse. And I bet if he were in your situation he would already be back on it. From your last post:"He was my guy. He was alpha." If that's not motivation to follow in his footsteps and be the best man you can be I don't know what is. You're his legacy. You're his contribution to the world that he left behind. Prove it to him. And if your wife has stuck with you this whole tim…

True. I haven't done much to help her along. I just expect her to want to make the effort but I realize that if that isn't what she's used to, it's not going to happen. Good perspective.

Thanks for the advice. She really is pretty basic... You're right, there is no point settling now when I bring a ton of value to the relationship.

If you listen to good punk or metal then the new stuff is not shitty like this. You're listening to shitty punk and metal. Go listen to some Agnostic Front and fucking kick ass at the gym! There are literally billions of girls in the world. Why is this one so special? Is this one girl really worth even the slight chance that you could fuck up all of your schooling?

The older episodes when the show first started had Cody and Dave. Cody the hippy naturalist and Dave with a heavy military background. Both more extreme on either side. Even they were still able to come to a rational compromise.

I watch the show once in a while only because I am into nature survival. The male/female aspect is amusing to watch. If you want a somewhat comparative show to watch, check out "Dual Survival". Two males instead of a male and a female. The comparison speaks for itself.

Good post. Remember that a lot of what people do and say is the result of envy. Next time someone makes fun of you for something in a way that is different than what they would do, stop and think about why they are mocking you. Chances are they are jealous it's their jealousy poking through.

Agreed. It all depends on what you want. If a girl puts out on the first date chances are she has done that many times before.

There is always more to it than what outsiders would see. But an objective perspective can help paint it in a different light. I think the real thing that you should realize here is that if you aren't satisfied with your relationship now, do something to change it. If you aren't able to change it, end it before you start sinking more than the last 10 years into it.

Remember that the entire reason you, me, any other human on earth exists is to reproduce. Nothing more. All of the social constructs that humans have made, careers, sports, activities, etc, are just made up bullshit. Our sole purpose is to grow the human species and ensure that it survives. That being said, women have an evolutionary propensity to want the strongest seed possible. The stronger the male, the stronger the offspring, the better the chance that the offspring will survive. Women are …

Monk mode is never a good idea. Spending your entire time focusing on yourself is what you should be doing always. But not focusing on interacting with women is negatively impacting your social skills with them. Don't forget that this a huge part of attracting women. Real monk mode should focus on all aspects of your life including women. Spend less time and emotional energy on it of course. If you feel that it is draining on you just cut it back a bit.

You nailed it on the head. The message is being lost behind the implied abrasiveness of the tone. Instead of acknowledging and accepting the message, readers feel as if they are being spoken down to. Unfortunately, additional comments picking apart aspects of the message completely destroys the dissemination of the metaphors which really is the key part of the post. "I do not have it, I cannot get it, therefore I display that I do not want it."

A girl I've hooked up with and I were talking on the phone the other day discussing a favor that she's doing for me. She had called me a couple times and I had not answered as I was out. When I called her back I told her that I had just got home. The dialog went like this: Me: Hey, missed your calls, just got home. Her: No worries! What were you up to? Me: Classified. Good post. She was giving 90 and yet nothing had happened in the relationship. He was giving 90 and she had overlooked it. This sounds exactly like my last relationship to a T. Remember that both genders have different expectations when in a relationship. This makes it extra important to take a step back and think about what the other person would want in the relationship to make them satisfied. You can be putting in a ton of effort for something that means nothing in the eye of your SO.

Stop over thinking and be whatever you feel like being. Whatever you go as, do it well and sell your character. Girls are attracted to power and confidence. The guy with the best costume at the party and who's confident about it will have the attention of every girl there.

Good points. I agree with oneitis being a lifelong ailment. It really is in a man's nature to focus on protecting one woman to ensure the overall survivability of her offspring. The trick is keeping an abundance mentality. Anytime I feel like I'm getting oneitis, I fire up tinder and I re-realize how many women are actually out there. When you stop to think about how many available women there are it's actually unfathomable. Blows my mind every time. It's like a oneitis pill!

She's using agree and amplify against you and it sounds like it's working. As /u/vandaalen said, you need to be more subtle about it. Check girls out without saying anything to her and she'll take notice, don't worry.

You're a rebound. She is using you to take her mind off of her breakup. Do what you want with her but remember that she's with you to get over her ex. When she's done with you she will likely kick you to the curb.Spin her but be ready to next her when she becomes too much work. EDIT: Also, don't communicate with her like that. If you want to slow things down do so with your actions not your words. Opening up to a girl like that makes you look a little needy.

It definitely makes a difference. No two ways about it. Remember that a woman's interest in you is based on many different things including personality, charisma, social status, etc (I won't name all 50...). But being fairly aesthetic is an important part of the equation as well. Chances are, their perceived SMV of you at 40 is different for other reasons than your appearance. But I do think there is some truth to being younger and aesthetics playing a larger role in the attraction game. As you …

I agree it is a bit of a hypocritical argument. As /u/tombreck2 mentioned, it is considerably easier for a woman to have sex. Remember that women are the gatekeepers of sex and men are the gatekeepers of relationships. If you think about it in another light, how many male acquaintances would you expect to overestimate their sexual partner count? How many female acquaintances would you expect to underestimate their count? Or better yet, not even be willing to tell you? See slut shaming. It really…

If a your perceived SMV is too high, a girl will not want to just be a fuck and chuck. If your perceived SMV is too low, a girl will think she can do better. There is a sweet spot. It's the same situation as a guy who acts needy and tries too hard. A girl will see this, think he's desperate and can't get anything else, and realize that he's shit and that she can do better. If you don't approach girls, they will think that your perceived SMV is too high for them because you are purposely not wast…

I've been there before. Had a regular thing with a chick who was married and had kids. Like people say, she's going to cheat anyway with someone. If you want to bang her just do it. I ended up breaking it off after a couple months. The novelty of her wore off and I worried more about her husband, who I do not know, finding out and showing up at my door. In reality the chances of this were low as hell but still possible. People do crazy things when their heart is broken. My take on your situation…

There have a been a bunch of great posts relating to self improvement and powering through the difficulties of change. This is another. I think #3 makes a point that I see a lot of people forget or not bother to pay attention to. The "monk mode" idea is a good idea but way too drastic. Talking to women and practicing your social skills and confidence helps you improve overall as a man. It is a little disheartening. Something that might help you... Remember that we are just living creatures trying to reproduce. /u/WishIHadMyOldUsernam and /u/RedBigMan have some great responses. To add from my own experiences... I've naturally always been very alpha even before red pill which of course made the pill much easier to swallow. The replies to this thread have really made me think. Thanks again guys. I am the biggest believer in AWALT. All girls have the same general mentality which is of course part of their nature. I have long come to terms with that and I am ok with it. Typically, I am one of the first people to state that girls are all the same, find one nearby instead. While this makes perfect sense from a theoretical standpoint, if you add in the individual characteristics of a situation I think that it paints a d…

You're still super young and have so much to do. Be the best at everything! Start now. Focus on that and enjoy it and a great girl will come along one day. Sure a relationship won't be that magical fairy tale happily ever lovey dovey life that we've been become accustomed to believe in. But eventually you will find someone great to share your life with. Demonstrate that you are stronger, better, higher value than the other people in the class and women will be drawn to you. Good advice. This works well if you are on a bi-weekly paycheque. If you are salaried and paid once or twice a month, you will all of a sudden have a mortgage payment without a paycheque which can make things tricky. Easy to deal with if you budget appropriately. Just something to keep in mind.

Can confirm. My ex was into horses. Money pit galore. Focus of her life. Nothing was more important to her. She would "never give her horse up" regardless of financial burden. She couldn't afford to keep her horse and when I wouldn't shell out to keep it around, princess went to mommy and daddy. You have to bring things down to an evolutionary level to realize that all of these things are simply human nature. We are all programed to ensure our own survival and the survival of our offspring. The survival of our spouse, although important, falls second to our offspring. For men, women are a tool for us to plant our seed in. We have a propensity to be focused on the way that they look solely because a more attractive woman will give our seed, once sewn, the highest probability of success. …

Girls are typically on their phone or near their phone most of the day. If she didn't respond and an additional text had to be sent the next week, she doesn't care about him. If a girl actually is interested, she will take the 15 seconds during the 23.5 hours a day she has her phone on her to send a text. Her sending a text after the next time OP sent one is likely because she either wants an orbiter or because she felt guilty for not responding.

Social proof is the idea that a person's overall value in one person's eyes is influenced by the opinions that other people have of you. If people generally like you and take the time to interact with you, it increases your perceived value to that person. First off. She is not eating less then she is expending or she would lose weight. It is not physically possible. Although you said she isn't sneaking, she either is or is terrible at counting calories. (I weigh all of my food so I know how small portion sizes on container labels) It is possible that now that she has two kids with you she wants to not have to work at it as much so she hamsters into going to some classes and weighing some of her meals out only to indulge later. Don't erase the post. The point of having posts stay is so that other people can read them in the future. Otherwise there would never be anything for anyone to look at... As p3ndulum said, it's rationalization. To elaborate on the analogy, it's when someone tries extremely hard to justify that an idea is ok. It's basically a stretch to be able to rationalize the idea and therefore the reference to a hamster in a hamster wheel. The hamster runs and runs and goes nowhere.

The best thing you can do is ignore her. She is looking for validation. Saying one word to her gives her this validation. She contradicts herself because she is a woman. Yes. AWALT. Although some women will "settle down" early after having very few or even one sexual partner, at a subconscious level they all have a propensity to become attracted to the strongest seed that they can find. Chances are, he really is attracted to men and is using women treating him poorly as a hamstering justification. Just the same as you can't make someone love you, you can't make someone love a gender. Let him do his own thing. He will find his own way.

She is in control of your "relationship", whatever construct that may be. But she is calling the shots at this point. Her telling you she would "settle" for you when she is a "6-7" is fucking humiliating. I wouldn't take that shit if a girl ever told me she would settle for me. Next her.

I wouldn't shit where I eat. Careful. But if you don't care about that... Talk about something in common. Lifting maybe? Talk about a lift or exercise you both do. Just build some rapport. I chat up girls all the time at the gym to the point where I am confident I could get a number. But again... Be careful.

A common theme with TRP: Do what works for you. Do your own thing and show up when it's convenient for you. (Or at least play it off that way)

Good post. I think I might start cooking with GAYLUBEOIL soon.

"No." What are you? Five years old? Just tell her no. What are you scared of?

Spending too much time with her. By texting her, spending the day with her etc, you're lowering your perceived SMV. Leave her for a while and let her wonder why you aren't contacting her. Exact same thing happened to me earlier this year.

Swallowing the red pill is a metaphor for finally coming to terms with the idea that western society has imposed its own set of standard norms when it comes to how men and women should typically behave and that these norms generally go against our natural instincts.

Awesome. That is female entitlement hamster at its best.

Well played. You are doing the right thing. I've never equated a situation such as that to TRP. Very intriguing post.

If she cares about you she will cut contact altogether with him. Why else would she want him around? She is either looking to cheat or looking for validation.

no.

She might be shit testing or she might be screwing with you. Move on. At least for now. Start working on yourself and keeping yourself busy and she will be drawn to you. I wouldn't message her back at least for a few weeks. Freezing out is more emotionally powerful to a woman than any message you could ever send.

Looks and aestheticism are more important early on in a relationship or at least in initial attraction. If you are unable to maintain an alpha frame, monetary status will have almost no meaning in the end. So I would agree to an extent and say that you still need both.

d Yes. Freezing her out simply consists of ignoring her. At least until she makes contact with you and decides that she wants to see things on your terms.

Freeze her out for a while and get your shit together or you're going to lose her completely. Maybe not right away. But eventually.

So true. I kept going back to this girl for who knows what reason. Definite oneitis. Especially considering I can do better than her.

Agreed. Although I am better now... This was a major screw up. Live and learn.

No. Never change yourself or your life for a woman (or women). That is beta. You aren't necessarily a beta just because of your career path. Don't forget. Characteristics that make a man appear more alpha include being passionate about your life/profession and being well educated. Follow your passion and live your life how you want and the rest will follow. Oh and keep lifting.

So what you are saying is that you have a hard time making friends?
/r/askTRP20/02/14 04:32 AM

The fact that she feels that way, as most people have said, is a reflection of the way she feels at specific intervals in her life. She is emotionally detached from all of her previous sexual partners, therefore the sex with them at this point of reflection is considered mediocre. She is with you now, therefore sex is amazing. Although, it is always wise to remember to pay attention to a woman's actions rather than her words, she is happy now so carry on.
