I’ve faced the same issue since my teens so I don’t think age is really at play here. As I mentioned in my post, all my dating and relationship experiences have been with men who are just as attractive as myself. I’m trying to understand how unattractive men have more confidence as opposed to men who are fairly attractive and successful.

I would wait a few more months. People change for someone they want to be with. If your goals don’t align 1 year into a relationship then it probably isn’t meant to be.

4 months into dating is a little too early to commit to marriage. Even as a woman, I would be slightly alarmed if someone’s discussing marriage that early. I would suggest giving it some time. Perhaps he’s trying to get to know you better and you should do the same.

A lot of people here have stated kindness. But if you treat wrong doers with kindness too, wouldn’t that just make you weak?

I don’t think it’s so much to do with looks as it is about personality. It’s the way a woman projects herself that matters to men. I’ve seen both good and average looking women being manipulated. Fboys generally go for women who aren’t very self assured and have low standards because it’s easy to gain their confidence. Any woman who knows her worth and is confident about what she wants isn’t easy to mess around with.

This person aside, isn’t it a good sign for men to be at least a little shy initially when it comes to women they’re genuinely attracted to? I feel it would make them more mindful and would lead them to put in more effort in their approach. If guys were equally confident around all women, that wouldn’t stop them from approaching multiple women at a time would it?

I’ve never considered that. But he generally seems to spend more time with his male friends, so I assumed he’s just shy around women. What do you think would be signs of developmental disability as opposed to someone just being shy?

Why is that?

I honestly don’t know what I see in him. I just feel a type of way every time he’s around. Nervous, happy, excited.. idk. He’s very private and is someone who’s always focusing on bettering himself at one thing or another. He had very few friends, ones who’ve been around for years. Doesn’t seem like he meets any new people.

It’s a bit too direct and I’m afraid I don’t have the courage to ask him out 😬

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
