This speaks so much to your character (and hers) that she felt she could come back and be honest with you and apologize. A lot of times people can be very "I told you so" about these things, which isn't conducive to reconciliation. I'm glad your friend is turning a new leaf in her dating life!

This is really funny, but on a serious note I hope no girl ever does this. Men are violent by nature, and this action could lead to a life-threatening situation for his partner. They have an unhealthy attachment to these videogames.

Thank goodness you caught this early. It's always important to scout who you're going out with early in the dating phase, so you don't waste time.

I don't have that much experience, but I imagine if you wait on revealing your deal breakers AND you prevent the relationship from becoming sexual in the meantime, he will show his true colors very quickly.

My friend's husband was furloughed temporarily during isolation / quarantine. Instead of lazing about the house like the husbands and boyfriends of a couple acquaintances I know, he built a three-level deck in their backyard in 5 weeks.

Call it what you want, but this is the bar that the black community itself has set for its men. If you're not out here running around with a gang, you have a degree, and you have no OOW children, you are a unicorn. Meanwhile, for other races of men, this is the standard, basic starting line for most of them, which is why there isn't a stereotype of them bragging about it.

The bar is so low for men, but especially black men 🤷🏿‍♀️

I mean maybe I exaggerated. But the most they get out of being approached by a woman is an ego boost and a sexual opportunity. But they're out here pretending that they fall in love with women who have the "guts" to do all the legwork in the courting stage.

This is a very cute attractive couple. However, she went hard in the paint (🤣) to pursue him, and as a result they had a messy, undefined "relationship" that went on for years that ended with him saying he's not in love with her.

You are lonely and you don't exercise enough. The first solution that comes to my mind would be to join a local fitness group (which I know is difficult right now haha). Join a free local Zumba class, or a sports-related exercise group. I recommend volleyball, basketball, or running/swimming along with Zumba, since in my experience lots of women enjoy those activities, and that's where I've met most of my close girlfriends when I moved to a new city. It'll help you build an acquaintance circle t…

So sweet! The small things matter too, and less thoughtful men don't think of going out of their way for you for those small things. It doesn't make them bad or anything, just a bit less intuitive. In my opinion there are levels of high value behavior. I think posts like this are important to highlight that most times it's small deeds like this that separate HV men from the average Joe. ❤️

Mostly for diet reasons. I don't typically eat a meal for dinner, that's how I grew up. I'll occasionally make an exception (celebrations, outing with friends), but I don't really want to grant such exceptions for dates.

Ladies what are some other date ideas that would reflect genuine effort on his part? I don't particularly like dinner dates. Edited to add that I'm specifically interested in other ideas for dates that don't involve sitting down to eat with someone.

Ha ouch. This is the kind of stuff that makes me feel really embarrassed and self-conscious. I don't think I'm bad-looking, but I've rarely had a man approach me to express genuine interest in taking me out and getting to know me. The 2 times I've been approached I suspect I was used for practice. But being the one to approach a guy wouldn't make me feel better about any sort of relationship that might follow, and I know I'd be questioning the entire time whether he really wanted me.

I definitely agree with you - there are some yellow flags in the story. Most of all, I was so appalled at BFF and her disdain for OP. Was she jealous? Did she have feelings for OP's man? But she had a whole husband! Other than that I'm not going to nitpick this story. I think their romance was beautiful and I'm happy that things have worked out wonderfully for OP.

It's a high value trait to be tall? 🤣 Anyway, I strongly discourage getting involved with work colleagues. Most of the time these relationships end up being messy. But, since you asked... Do you know his name? I'd recommend smiling at him and greeting him by name often. Also, try to strike up conversations occasionally about work. Ask him a work question, or for help on something. Every now and then while chatting you can throw in something non work-related "Wow the coffee is pretty good today, …

This was written by some NVM. I can't believe number 53! As if real men would be okay with their own birthdays and anniversaries being forgotten. Very one-dimensional view of both men and women.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/03/20 06:23 PM
26

He's immature. I didn't take the "looks fade" comments literally. I think he meant that after the spell of her good looks lifted (he was now accustomed to her beauty) he became uninterested in getting to know and falling in love with the real woman underneath. He used her as a trophy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/03/20 06:18 PM
30

This was so confusing to read. He's constantly contradicting himself- he was not jealous of guys trying to talk to her all the time... But towards the end he says the idea of thousands of men approaching her crippled him knowing he had no other options himself. Dude, which one is it? Also notice that he said that she "loved the heck out of" him, but nowhere does he say that he fell in love with her, or loved the "heck out of" her. She was his trophy to begin with, not a woman to be loved.

She'll be learning a hard lesson very soon. Her marriage may have been on the rocks, and this fling gave her a flimsy excuse to dissolve it. I hope there aren't any kids involved. Also, stop hanging out with LVMs. Their lives aren't (and shouldn't be) entertaining enough to excuse keeping them around.

This is it, chief. I'm sure her friend has indulged him that way because she loves him and it's something she loves to do for him, in return for everything he does for her. Once it becomes a demand that she do those things, it'll be a list of resented chores.

You have a point, but if the sole/main purpose of sharing threads from LVM-run subs is to monitor which of them is trying to report and shut us down, isn't that something the mods can handle behind closed doors? I'm not sure what our comments here are doing towards preventing an FDS shutdown.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/03/20 05:20 AM

I agree. It doesn't make much sense to focus so much attention on men who are obviously, glaringly LV, as opposed to focusing on ways to detect HVM or suss out LVM masquerading as HV. These incel-bashing posts are taking up space. 🚮

Actually I think women don't "looksmatch"or whatever very well. Every single day I see women with partners who are a tier or two below them in terms of physical attractiveness. Almost without fail. So yeah, we need to step it up a bit.

Yeah, that flag is neon red. Your friend needs to get out like yesterday. They've been seeing each other for 3 & 1/2 months and she hasn't stayed over at his place? I'm pretty conservative so that would be normal for me, but I know that's not really the standard these days. If you can, please help your friend get a clue and dump this dude!

I wouldn't know, I'm a virgin. But most of my girlfriends have said they've been with average to below average guys who've been better in bed than large guys. Technique is more important than size. "If he doesn't know how to use his wand, he's not a magician, no matter how big or small he is." Of course there's such a thing as being too small/too big, but I think even those guys are the right size for someone.

Hit the nail on the head. I tend to be a "wallet queen" when it comes to men, but situations like this are an important reminder for me that not every wealthy/well-to-do man is generous. You have to make sure that character is on point.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/03/20 01:48 AM
49

I would just stop paying it, have my mom open an account and "give" her all of my paychecks. If he ups the level of crazy because I've stopped paying rent, I would leave. However, it's my opinion that she shouldn't have indulged this 50/50 bs in the first place.... He is a man, a man provides, and he makes more money. He should have been paying most, if not all, of their bills from the get-go.

His ignorance to his partner's lack of sexual satisfaction is criminal.

So helpful. There was a treasure trove of advice there. 🙄
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 06:53 PM

Yeah when you put it that way, size definitely matters. I guess I was more specifically addressing whether or not the man has to be "above average" (which is typically what this conversation is about when it comes to penis size) as the PickMe quote seemed to indicate.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 06:51 PM
0

I guess size is subjective then. Some people aren't able to take in anything of "normal" size, let alone anything bigger.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 06:41 PM
5

Interesting. Thanks for sharing a different perspective.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 05:37 PM
5

That second one is a bit backwards though, imo. At least according to the ideologies of this sub, I would assume a partner's ability to provide should be more important than how tall he is.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 05:31 PM
44

Yikes.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 05:27 PM
54

Yes, I don't think not caring about height and peen size makes you a PickMe. I think it's just preference. But I don't think it's necessary to broadcast those kinds of things the way the women on that sub have. What purpose does it serve? All it means is that LV men will approach women with the expectation that they should accept the bare minimum, because these women have.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 05:25 PM
10

Oh I see. So it depends on the woman, basically.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 05:20 PM

Does penis size really matter? It should matter how he uses it, not the size.

While I can definitely see and appreciate some of the benefits of this method, how does a woman properly gauge the value her partner puts on monogamy and fidelity, if at all? Giving me a ring isn't enough if I don't know know the full depth of the intention behind it. I could be missing something. There's no doubt it has worked for some women, tho…

I think the important thing to remember here is that there's no cap to leveling up. We're all at different stages of our level up journey, and the journey never really stops. You can always improve on yourself. Are you sure you're ready to date? There are themes of sadness and loneliness in this post.... I think you need to get to a place where you're content with your "singledom". Make sure you're happy in all facets of your life to the best of your ability. The last thing you want is to bring …

Ooh, that's exciting. Nothing like some time away to help clear your head. In no time you'll be laughing at him and at the situation! Good luck. 🙂

I'm sorry the situation is making you feel so unimportant. Just move on, don't continue to expect so much from him. Also, as upset as you are, are you sure you weren't looking for something more with this man? It's my understanding that one doesn't have to invest so much effort into someone they just see as a lay. And since you admitted that you two were just looking for something casual, why do you expect to be in consistent contact outside of arranging for sex? I don't mean to offend.

I'm a little confused. Why would he propose if you guys aren't exclusive?

You seem like a lovely and dedicated young lady, but just like so many of us here, you are still on your level up journey. There is nothing wrong with that. Just be happy that you're out of a relationship that was not beneficial to you in any aspect. Take some time to be single and develop your standards. The one and only good thing that guy did for you is show you what you don't want in a relationship. Combine that with the fact that now you're part of the FDS community, and I think you have a …

Pet names are annoying when the guy doesn't even know you. Heck, I don't think I'd be comfortable with a pet name even 6 months into the relationship. 🤷🏿‍♀️

You're a brave lady. I admire you for trying to stick by a suffering veteran, but he needed to find it within himself to get better. And a good man would have done better for you on his own, without you having to beg him. No amount of urging from you or anyone else will get him there. Congratulations on finding the courage to get out and to move on. ❤️

I'm a bit miffed at that second comment though. How does it help one's self-esteem to think "Well, ugly or not it's okay because at least the dregs of the male community will still be attracted to me"? Am I missing something?

A man who wants you will not be shy about it. He didn't want you (enough) and he's not the one. I do believe in shy guys, but if they really want something with you they will overcome their nerves and shyness just enough to make it known. Thank goodness you didn't make any moves, thus avoiding any awkwardness.

I hate to be skeptical, but until we get an update, I'm not sure your boss will be very helpful in this situation. HR is never out to protect the employees, after all. Ladies, please please please, think twice, three times, before transforming any relationship with a work colleague into something more than business/work.

Does anyone think this is weird that she wrote the post from his perspective? I believe her when she says he's forgetful and she hasn't felt appreciated on any important days in years, but why not write it from your own perspective? The answers would have been the same 🤷🏿‍♀️. That kind of rubs me the wrong way.

This doesn't mean there's no chance for something to happen! I have a crush at work too, but it's because we work together that I've rebuffed any advances. This could be an opportunity to get what you want without "sh!tting were you eat." Just my 2¢.

Question: do you ladies think there is such a thing as watching a healthy amount of porn? I don't think there is if you're watching it by yourself, but I know couples that watch it together and seem to have a stable relationship.

Yeah I should have amended that statement, as I'd forgotten they were having traditional sex. It may not matter to you how many ways one gets off in a relationship, but it matters to him clearly, and admittedly it would matter to me. It's all about what two people in a relationship have come to an agreement on and are ok with. There's a man out there who would be ok with going down on this woman and not getting any head. But since this man isn't ok with it, he either needs to make it clear or GT…

Well, if we're taking his word at face value, then he's making sure that she gets off in many different ways, but he doesn't feel that it's reciprocated. She's getting her O via PIV and oral, but he's only getting his O from PIV. Like I said before, she's not obligated to give him oral. But if he's not ok with it he needs to GTFO of the relationship.
