Your worst fear should not be "being alone". Your worst fear should be when you get a divorce, and now you are alone and paying this mooch alimony. How would you like to be broke and alone? If you have been supporting him all this time and you get married you are setting yourself up for some real hurting for certain. Not only that if you are in a community property state, he is entitled to 50% of everything you own. Please don't marry him.

From my experience, and what I see in my friends and families marriages, I have never seen a man who does his share of housework, child care etc..And if they do one simple thing like the dishes, they need a parade in their honor. And I am wondering, do any of you see, or know of any man who actually does his part?

He has literally no reason to change. Every thing is working out just FINE for him. Never mind she is in torment every day trying to handle everything and "pay her share". Sweetie, your husband is a selfish, self-centered, shallow, self-serving, heartless, worthless piece of crap. No man ever, would be better than continuing this farce of a marriage.

Yes! And also, how many men are actually physically terrified of a women vs. how many women live in terror of being physically abused, or raped, or murdered by their partner/husband on a daily basis?

They are supposed to take care of their inlaws on top of everything else? Oh hell no! Can you even imagine working all day, picking your child up from daycare and coming home to cook and clean for your lazy husband, and his parents as well? I would reject this paradigm as well. What good are these men?

You were always the strong one in this relationship. You have the strength to do this. He on the other hand is nothing but an empty, evil shell who has no more power than what you give to him. Take your self away and never look back. There is nothing to see back there. Be safe when leaving. If you can sneak out do it. If you have a big brother, dad, anybody take them with. A police escort is a great idea. After you get out you need to block him on everything. Think about taking pictures of your …

I absolutely hate it when men try to pull this crap! There is nothing that turns me totally off a man quicker than being pressured for sex, especially on a first date. I wonder if there is any way to screen for this and not waste our time? OP you did so great! I am so doing the exact same thing if this ever comes up again. Thanks for sharing.

You may have hit on something with the predator/prey idea. They see us a prey :-( I wish they would just leave us alone. If we are interested, we have ways of showing we are interested. We don't need to be stalked, catcalled, and harassed every time we leave our homes to try and get things done.

Your true friends know better than to believe that b.s. If they fall for it, they are not your true friends. You continue to live your life with integrity, so that person's words are not believable by anyone with half a brain. You ignore it all and you never, never give that person the time of day again.

His ex-wife was "frigid", but funny thing she left him for another man. Years later just the thought of having sex with him made me want to throw up, and I most definitely am not "frigid". So many men want to talk about their "dead bedrooms". I am going to guess, that if they had a dead bedroom, it was 95% caused by them alone. He was very abusive. The most I say to potentials is, "he was rather cold".

"If she grants me access to be on her, it's for a short time like 5-10 minutes." Access to be on her? This is one of the creepiest things I have ever read. Ick. I suspect there are many reasons why she doesn't want to "be close" to him.

You are so right that when someone is being kind and giving you a complement, they do not expect anything in return!!! I feel like I learned something today, thank you! What a creep! I am so proud of you and I LOVE that you are educating these young ladies not to tolerate this b.s.!!

I used to work at a battered women's shelter. Physical abuse is not the only kind of abuse. So far I can see verbal, emotional and financial abuse going on here. There is also spiritual and sexual abuse which is not clear if this is happening to you or not from what you have posted. At no time in our agency did we require physical abuse to get in. I want to reccomend that you circle back with these folks and have another chat. If absolutely nothing else they should be able to help you get a rest…

There is an amazing, older book called Fat is a Feminist issue. Downloadable on several sites on the Internet for free. Working through it I discovered that my fat represented being safe from rape to me. It was a sad and eye opening moment. Yes OP sometimes it feels much better to be invisible. Disclaimer: Not saying heavy women don't get raped! Just a weird trick my brain played on me!

As an introvert this is one of the things that bothers me the most about men. I absolutely hate listening to them monologue! It's like they don't even care about you, or anything you have to say, just "oh boy" heres a captive audience and off we go with blah, blah, blah..Why do they assume that every woman wants to listen to a blow by blow of their whole entire thought process? My town has tons of walking paths on the river, and through beautiful park like areas and it really bothers me that unless I am walking with another man, I absolutely do not feel safe just going for a walk during daylight hours. Why can't they just leave us alone? Maybe we need T-shirts! "Leave me alone". "Not interested". "Go away". Honestly, where are we safe from harassment nowadays? And why do they think we even care what their opinion is or what they have to say about our bodies?

80 percent of men are extremely lazy, and feel like house work is beneath them. I am not exactly sure how you screen for this either because they will often do chores and help out when trying to get you into a relationship with them, but once they have you, it all seems to change? One suggestion is to look at the state of their car, and their own place. If they are used to living in filth and not doing chores, they are definitely not going to change for the better just because they got a girlfri…

They just take it for granted that as soon as they have us, the wining and dining is over. We are their damn maid and cook and mommy and sex slave that shouldn't ever have any needs, wants, desires or mind of our own. We exist to serve. And they exist to sit on their asses and wonder why we are 'too tired" again. "Don't you miss sex?" Bwahahahaha! No. My vibrator is better than any man I have ever had sex with, and guaranteed orgasm. What would be the point of sleeping with some scrote that may or may not even try to satisfy me? Having sex with a male is a step down at this point and I am only willing to attempt that if he shows an eagerness and willingness to please me out of bed, for a consistently long period of time. Done with disappointing sex.

Oh and you might want to hit some of those hookup sites too. I was curious after my b.f. at the time kept getting pop-up texts from girls while I was trying to do his income taxes, on his laptop and surprise, surprise, there he was wanting to hookup pretty much with everyone and anyone for any reason. And yes we were in a monogamous relationship, supposedly any way. And that wasn't all. I saw at least a dozen guys that were on POF on that website too. I wish I could remember the name of the site…

I got a mailed letter from a guy I dated once TWO years ago. He "never forgot" me. Ha. I forgot him. Took me an hour to remember who he was and why I ghosted him. What we see at the very beginning of the relationship is their very best self. Sometimes it's obviously very low value. Sometimes it's all an act until they get what they want. When my ex and I first got together, before we got married, he did dishes, cooked, played with my previous children, and was a totally different person Within one month of being married he had physically assaulted me and spent the night in jail for it. He never did that again but the emotional abuse was sooo much worse. N…

He actually had 28% but only took son every other weekend and his girlfriends used to do more with him than he did. His last exwife used to yell at him to do something with son cause he pretty much put him on the xbox or in front of the tv and ignored him. Son is 19 now. Other than asking dad for money, he pretty much ignores dad. This also puts a HUGE burden on the Single Mom who has to be both parents to son.

My general rule of thumb is too NEVER be the first after a break up. But nine months isn't really that long. I am going to suggest you date him ONCE. And if he starts talking endlessly about that relationship, and seems to be in grief or anger about it, than he is not ready to be dating. Use caution.

I typed in "women only communes" into my search engine and got a bunch of hits. I really love this idea. I can picture four or five women buying tiny houses and maybe a communal living space in the middle and having a wonderful, supportive group of women to age in place with. Happy Birthday! Don't ever stay with someone who negates your birthday! He will do this on Christmas, Valentines Day, Your Anniversary, Mother's Day etc. Basically every single holiday and special occasion when he has an opportunity to make you feel special and loved, will be ruined pretty much as long as you are with him. This is something men say to humble-brag on their size. Wouldn't he know his size by his age? There are commercials for Mother's day on tv for about two weeks before it happens. Ditto with newspapers, social media and almost every grocery store you go into has an obvious flower display. You would have to be a completely, utterly, oblivious idiot to miss the fact that Mother's Day is happening. They know it and they choose to disregard it. This is not an accident. I had a very abusive relationship and used to tell a few things. Nothing good comes of this. Now I just say, "He was a very cold man". But honestly I am thinking of changing it up to, "he didn't pull his weight and I just got tired of it" which is also very true. Honestly I would be more picky. You can not believe how many of these guys have restraining orders on them, a record of domestic abuse, disturbing the police, on probation, bankruptcies, still married etc. etc. Once you get their phone number or their last name, go on the internet and be prepared. There's a reason most of these guys are single.

You don't want to be his rebound girl. That first relationship out the gate never lasts. And it's accompanied by a lot of drama. She did this, she did that, guess what she did now? Blah, blah. I LOVE THIS!! Reason I am no longer with exboyfriend. I was very stressed out about teenage son and actually had to ASK for some comforting words to feel better.
