This sounds awful. Firtsly that amount of sex a day to me is unsustainable. Secondly it sound like you’re not enjoying it as much as him anyway. A great seuxla relationship should involve sex which you enjoy just as much as the guy, if not more. He should be trying to mould to you and what you like and it doesn’t sound like he is.

The Obamas. Even then though as someone has stated we don’t know what their relationship was like behind closed doors. I always liked that Barack chose Michelle when she outranked him at his job. That shows a man that actually commends and respects strength in a woman as a quality. I don't know much about this couple other than the late Bobby Kennedy had great hair.

I totally agree and I've noticed even myself doing this too. On the way home from a date a couple of months ago in my head I said OK, I saw a couple of pink flags with this guy, not wanting to call them red flags...things like negging, disrespectful comments, general rudeness disguised as 'humour'...those were DEALBREAKERS. Funnily enough days after I decided toi block him, I found this SubReddit and was like, where has this place been all my life?!?! The problem is hat we as women are socialise…

Personally this is one of the many reasons why I prefer men that don't use social media or hardly use it. Its just obnoxious. I dated a guy that would like almost every single one of a certain girls photos, and juts like mine sparingly, OCASSIONALLY. It made me feel like shit. I also have married friends from school and Unievrsity liking certain photos of me and I always think, if I was this eprson's wife I would hate my husband doing that, too.

The only thing I disagree with is 42 is NOT ancient and not too old to start having kids.

This is literally one conversation in an App. You haven’t met yet. I dont want to seem like a Debbie downer- I hope things work out but I wouldnt judge a guy until youve at least had several dates and at least had time to get him. Men can say these things but then act totally different in person.

...men on online dating are generally lazy anyway. If they matched with you, clearly they find you somewhat attractive. If they then don’t want to take you on a date it’s frequently because they’re lazy, only wanted validation and simply cannot be bothered. I’m just saying get away from framing it as not being attractive enough being the main issue. Trust me, it’s not. If you’re a healthy weight and make somewhat of an effort with your looks, trust me it’s not that.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/03/20 01:33 AM

It’s not all about looks. Men are freaking weirdos and can be very random and odd about who they choose to commit to, who they chose to marry and so on. If it was all about looks, then all the beautiful women would be in relationships and all the plain and average women would be single. Plenty of men will get access to beautiful women, women who are more attractive than them etc. and still treat them like dirt because of their own hang ups and issues. Having not so great luck with men doesn’t me…

The same ones with men that aren’t like that. Douchebags come in all shapes, sizes and with all different kinds of personalities. Just because a guy seems shy or quiet, I’ve learned, doesn’t mean he’s not capabale of being toxic, abusive, narcissistic etc.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/03/20 07:04 PM

He lost interest sadly. Sorry to hear that. I’m at a stage with dating and relationships where I can now literally tell if I’m ever going to hear from a guy again on the date. Usually I know I won’t around a quarter to mid way through the date. Sad times but it is what it is.

High quality men do. Most intelligent, highly successful men are not married to bimbos and go for intelligent and age appropriate women. Barack Obama, Bill Gates to name a couple.

With all due respect...girl, why are you still talking to this person? It’s creepy, it means he’s probably not very attractive and most likely lacks basic social skills. Thats not the behavior of a normal guy, let alone even a high quality man.

For me, firstly it’s photos that indicate that’s I’m not their type i.e a lot of photos with and groups of people who don’t look like me. Black women will know what I‘m taking about. Also one of two extremes: either seems very flashy with a high paying job and seems very conceited with a lot of photos with him with expensive items or with shades on etc. seeming quite into himself...OR seems broke, every photo is in a bathroom or something, he’s wearing sports clothes in every photo, has a lot of…

Ultimately there’s more educated women than men out there, but it’s about who you’re choosing to engage with. Firstly I don’t converse with men if their photos give me indication that they’re not up to much in their lives and it doesn’t look like a lifestyle match. Secondly, I always ask where they studied and what they studied early in the conversation. That tends to prevent the issue of matching with men that aren’t very ambitious etc.

This has happened to me several times over the past few years and when it does I make a mental note never to see the guy again.

OK thanks I’m not going mad. It feels overly picky but it’s actually not. You can tell a lot through the tone of a text message. Lack of interest, casualness, lack of effort can come across in texting. His texting style was fine before this message this just threw me off.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 10:44 PM
22

Right. Thanks both of you. I didn’t like the message either it just smacked of rudeness and you’re right, this is the earliest stage of dating, he should be trying to be somewhat polite at least. Glad I’m not alone in feeling turned off. I’ve now unmatched. The date would have sucked.

Right, I guess I just expect better from someone capable of holding down a job in a corporate setting because my assumption is at least he’s smart and maybe has some level of sophistication to him? I’m constantly being proven wrong with this stuff though.

I used to think a man opening up like that was a good sign that he liked me. I’ve now realised a lot of men don’t get much support and empathy from the people in their lives and will use women to get that. It’s pathetic. I’ve started cutting conversations like that short.

What a douche. Men like this just like the feeling of having all these options when often they really have very few, and end up blowing off the few women who actually do give them the time of day becaus of their FALSE perception of having an abundance of options.

I knew a guy I was dating wasn’t as into me, I just knew it but I lied to myself and made excuses for him over and over. Turns out he lied about when he was going back home and leaving the country so that he wouldn’t actually have to break up with me.

Non relationships. I was just SO happy to have a guy to boast about it didn’t even matter that he wouldn’t refer to me as his girlfriend, took me on low effort ‘dates’ and seemed mainly interested in sex.

I made it sound like I go into dates and treat them like a therapy session. I don’t but I’m just honest about things and candid, in the way I would be with a new friend. The problem is being that candid with men doesn’t really work in ones favour. Like if a guy asks how I’ve been finding the dating scene I’ll usually be really honest and give a hilarious and honest answer, but in reality it’s probably best to give a vague answer...or if he asks about work, and I’m not feeling it, I’ll tell him t…

This is good advice that I am SO SO bad at taking. I always seem to end up spilling my guts on dates about past bad dates, personal failings, things in my life I'm not happy about etc.- whether I even intended to or not. It just happens. Its annoying because I've gotten good at not allowing boundaries to be crossed with certain things i.e. sex and physical contact...but with that side of things, I suck. I guess there's a part of me that just wants to lay everything out on the table.

I’ve read that handbook, but it’s not a Bible ultimately. It’s suggestions. Most of which I totally agree with and think are great, bar this one because I personally prefer the casualness of a relaxed drinks first date over a formal dinner if we’ve only ever briefly chatted.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/20 08:00 PM

OMG sorry I didn’t even see this post. I just made a post stating I didn’t think drinks was THAT bad of a date suggestion LOL.

I guess the casualness coffee dates is what I don’t like. Also coffee is cheaper than actual drinks. I guess I also don’t mind drinks because it can lead to dinner as well.

I get what you’re saying but you don’t have to drink alcohol though, necessarily. I’m just saying, I would PREFER dinner but drinks for a guy that I’m also just trying to evaluate isn’t horrible.

Good point- I do want a black family, black kids etc. but dating black men sometimes feels like going to the fucking Low Value Male festival LMAO.

Good point. I feel bad bringing it up because I know this SubReddit invites and welcoems all races but as a black woman I find these videos irksome- but you're right. A lot of the men in them aren't HVM so I shouldn't even be complaining. Its just lowkey disturbing to me how most of the videos are Latina or mixed women and ALL their exes or most of them, are black men...or its a black guy with all nonblack exes.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/03/20 12:55 AM

LOL. Nothing is ever a man's fault in a lot of men's minds, including a woman ending up being mistreated by one.

The exes on this always seem to be very low value black men which there seem to be a surplus of [sorry I'm a black woman and I date black men, just keeping it real, it feels like swimming in freaking swamp water dating Millenial black men at times] with mixed, Latina or white ex girlfriends. They almost always come off as AWFUL boyfriends, extremely superficial and obsessed with looks, image and sex. I hate these SO much. I have watched a few and the men on them seemed SO awful.

The men that like me do. Men that like you will have a naturalinterest in finding out more about you. They remember everything you say, sometimes betetr than you remember yourself. Its instinctive when a man truly likes you. One of the many reasons I always know its going nowhere fast if a guy doesn't have an active interest in what I'm doing and does not remember important details about thungs I have said early on.

I'm proud of this and us. You guys ROCK, Jammies and the other girls on here, I love you and you're great. It might seem like such a small thing, but this is major. I am so proud of the women on here who have built this SubReddit and made it what it is. I consider myself an intelligent woman but this SubReddit's brutal hoenstly has really made me rethink the way I look at myself and dating. Its important to have resources like this. Great advice. I recently went on a date, as I'm sure MANY of you now know LOOOL, which led me here and the guy said 'It takes me a long time to decide if I like someone' [amongst MANY other red flags]. The old me would have let that alide and though OH WELL...I guess I'll just have to convince him! NOPE. Two days later after finding this Sub and reflecting on the car crash date as a whole, I blocked him. RIGHT THERE, in my face he was telling me that he wasmost likely not going to commit with me…

Women standing up for themselves, claiming agency in a difficult dating climate and resisting the tactics of men that do not have out best interests. Yes, the HEIGHT of controversy. LOL.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/03/20 12:09 AM

LOL. This is funny because you can’t compare a woman’s dating standards to a mans. Men are very black and white about knowing if they like a girl. If they’re telling you they take a long time to know if they lie someone and admit to lowkey wasting the previous woman’s time, you know what’s in store for you as well. That guy I went on a date with was a pure time waster who spent the whole date negging me and that lien about taking a long time to like someone was just the tip of the iceberg. Women…

I spoke on the phone before one of the dates I’m referring to where the guy was self centred. The other one I met in person. I would not have gone on either date if I had realised they were so self centred.

Firstly, I actually thought he was gay. Also how offensive, basically implied that he settled for her over the ‘hot’ women he had been dating previously.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/02/20 07:32 PM

I appreciate the input but I think you’re missing the point a bit. Yes the guy should be trying to impress me and I should be assessing him, but he should also be trying to get to know the woman he’s opposite. That’s how normal, harmonious communication should be. In fact what’s really impressive is when a guy is genuinely interested and curious about me, as well as being an interesting person in his own right. What’s even MORE impressive is when he remembers small details we discussed and raise…

OK RIGHT HERE is exactly what I'm talking about LOL. Thank you. Its not JUST the fact that they're talking so much about themselves, its when they have a chance to ask me about MYSELF its...OH ERRR...Yeah so what about you?! Nothing specific, nothing that shows any indication of actually caring about the answer etc.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/02/20 03:39 PM

I totally agree with that feeling of being talked down to. It’s almost like the guy is asserting how much more important he is than you with his actions by monopolising the conversation. It’s a huge turnoff.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/02/20 01:05 PM
15

....but you often never even really know what a guy is like until you go on a date, that’s the issue. In phone calls one of the guys want like that, at all.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/02/20 12:29 PM
28

NAH. That’s a basic social skill. Me being ‘too good’ at listening isn’t making them want to only talk about themselves, it’s a lack of genuine interest and narcissism. On is date I started showing VISIBLE signs of annoyance at his self centredness and he still did not take the hint.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/02/20 12:27 PM
32

Yeah, WOW that’s super annoying. I don’t get it myself either! I naturally ask people about themselves even when I need to rant or something because it’s rude not to and also I’m genuinely interested. I’m just amazed that men will have a girl in front of them, supposedly one that’s somewhat attractive to them... and ONLY want to talk about themselves and have so little interest in her or her life. It’s sad.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/02/20 09:13 AM

OMG the last two guys I went on a date talked AT me not with me, and I should probably have walked out. It’s was really annoying. There seems to be an epidemic of men who only want to talk about themSeles these days.

No- its about how secure the woman is within herself. Pick mes are just insecure women with low self esteem and internalised patriachal views, ultimately. Insecure beautiful women are one of the major reasons many men have weird attitudes and think they can score any woman. They see attractive women settling for low value men out of fear and lonelineness and want it to be them.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 10:09 PM

I think he means well, but I've noticed him encouraging women to do things like basically trying to negotiate and bargain with men that have shown themselves to be low value and a waste of time, which annoys me. Like I said I think he means well but he's ultimately a man and therefore cuts men way too much slack. His advice tends to err on the side of 'men are complex and sensitive beings and you need to do XYZ for them'. Which is not helpful...but then a lot of advice for women devloves into wo…

Girl. This is one of my biggest pet peeves. When a guy wastes my time with pointless conversation only to end it with the suggestion of a date and no actual plan, that’s when I take my cue to stop messaging him entirely.

AH! That’s god point. Some would argue that avoiding LVM entirely would mean most likely deleting online dating completely LOL. Where are you might I ask? I assumed Hinge was everywhere. Hinge LOOKS less sleazy but ultimately it’s not different from Tindeer minus that and also the fact that the app limits the number of likes you can have per day unles should wanna pay £20 a month! LMAO.

He wasn’t a HVM but I appreciated that he never undermined me. It just dawned on me that the men I was least attracted to were the most keen to make me feel less attractive or less than, if that makes sense.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/02/20 11:58 PM

No regrets. LOL. The overall point is to further that argument that you shouldn’t settle for men you’re not as attracted to because here often insecure AF and use tactics to try and keep you ‘down’ because they know you can do better.

Sorry to say it but wondering what he saw in those girls and why you didn’t ‘measure up’ because you feel that you’re better is a ‘pick me‘ mentality. You shouldn’t care. He was a shitty boyfriend who disrespected you and you should be glad to be rid of him. It doesn‘t matter whether you’re ‘better’ than another woman in looks personality or both. Negging. Bringing up things he thinks YOU are insecure about constantly, like your height or weight or soemthing. Bringing up other women to try and make you jealous. My ex used to do this a lot. I actualy ended up cheating on him LOL. I didn't intend to, but now looking back all his behavior was due to the fear, and knowlege, that I could do better than him. ALSO be wary of men that boast a lot about their jobs a lot, thats also a sign.

I’m actually most ashamed that I was still going to see him again until yesterday when despite me agreeing to meet him this weekend, I could see he wasn’t making any plans and was instead making annoying jokes about wing late. I feel SO annoyed at myself for overlooking all the awful crap he did because I was so desperate just to be dating SOMEONE after a long spell of being single. This SubReddit has really opened my eyes about self value.

It’s a scare tactic to try to lower the girls self esteem or value so shes more susceptible to having her time wasted by the guy, it’s basically negging. These men know that most women look better respective to them, even as we age.

I agree. That’s partly why I loved Rafael Nadal when he first started. I liked seeing a man with a masculine body in tight clothing, that women found sexy playing a sport like tennis, it’s was refreshing. The media heavily sexualized him and really went on and on about his body and I’d never seen that before.
