There's a song by Becky Hill by Back and Forth where she describes indecisive men very well. And it's a bit of a bop!

Love this post! I'm only in my early twenties and I had an epiphany a few months ago whilst I was hiking alone in the mountains that my ideal person probably didn't exist. A little voice in my head told me "You can whatever you want for the rest of your life and you will never answer to anyone!" I had a v rough upbringing so whatever freedom I've gained since going no contact has been exhilarating. It's just lovely knowing I can have it forever if I want to. Since then I've become a million time…

It's sad because years ago I slept with a guy who told me he was single and after a bit of digging it turned out he actually had a girlfriend who he was about to move in with. I sent her a very nice message explaining what had happened and she called me a shit-stirrer and blocked me. They broke up a few months later because it turns out, he was making plans to move abroad and he totally kept her in the dark about it. She only found out once his visa came through and the relationship basically en…

Hahahahahaha known to cause STDs in the state of California made me spit my water out onto my shirt and it was worth it. You are one talented gal!

I checked out her Tiktok and she literally does two videos where she rates the comments which are telling her to ditch him because it's disrespectful. She's another flavour of pickme I swear. She literally got stood up by her own boyfriend. Nothing else to it.

There's literally nothing cute about it though? If he's gonna be 2 hours late to a dinner you two planned and shows up like nothing happened he clearly doesn't respect your time. If I was her I'd have eaten my dinner, put on a dress and gone out with my friends.

Honestly, the number of girls I've met on nights out who've drunkenly admitted their bf is an emotionally abusive ass or a bad communicator or he cheated but they won't leave because they don't wanna be the single asf friend. Honestly, no guy is worth losing your sleep or sanity over. It makes me so glad I don't have to deal with that kind of BS.

Girl needs to run faaaar away. Statements like "Nobody will love you as much as I do" is a classic manipulation/gaslighting tactic.

Yep. I feel bad for the next girl he charms, she has no idea of what she's really in for, the guy used to really take pride in being inconsistent and had the nerve to tell me he was too young to know what he wanted. Fair enough if that's the case because the beauty of being single is you can be selfish but don't be a disrespectful douchebag smh.

Actually no I'm still looking for a job (and it's exhausting and has made me nervous about finding one postgrad). I'm lucky I had student loans to fall back on because I'm still at college but I have friends who graduated with honours and they're still unemployed. Edit- Also I don't think many employers would be willing to employ someone who has a history of a huge employment gap. A little empathy would go a long way, especially during a pandemic. Edit 2- You say documentaries are skewed. By tha…

I totally get where you're coming from but I've seen a few documentaries about working girls and in one, a girl mentioned she'd tried applying for jobs but a lot of them asked on their applications what her current job was. That was basically what made it hard to get another job because when she did mention she was a working girl, she got an automatic rejection. Also in the pandemic with local/national lockdowns I can't imagine it being easy to find retail work or anything that doesn't require a…

What annoys me massively is seeing someone like Bella (who doesn't need to rely on something like onlyfans for an income like many sex workers) do it just because she's desperate for attention. Girl needs a massive slap for undermining the ones who've had to turn to onlyfans because they don't have the resources to get another job. Edit- A sentence.

Hello me a few months ago!! I was going through something fairly similar (thought he was a HVM when we had so much in common and I ignored red flags because I liked him so much). I made a thread about him on FDS when I realised how stupid I'd been and honestly the comments were so supportive and they gave me the kick up my ass to block him finally.

I think if I was older and I was in that kind of position where I wanted to move for love I wouldn't be so worried because I'd have more financial stability. My friend's 20 and she doesn't have that at all.

Currently levelling up so thankfully I'm a single pringle whose hopefully moving abroad next year. I think if I ever did move for a man I'd make sure I had a career I could carry on in the new place and I had a backup plan. Otherwise nope.

Also they're wildly incompatible in the sense one wants to get married and the other clearly doesn't. If neither of you are very big on the idea of marriage, fair enough at least it's mutual. She needs to ditch this guy because he's not on the same page as her and he doesn't sound that nice either.

My godmum used to say to me, "You're much more likely to regret a relationship than educating yourself, building friendships, being independent and travelling." During my pickme phase I kind of forgot about the phrase but I kept telling myself that when I moved abroad and I've tried to stick to it since!

Honestly it’s partly one of the reasons I left Tinder. I have nothing against people who want to do threesomes but it’s just low when you pressure your other half or the person you’re chatting to into it. There was one time I was chatting to a girl who asked if we could go for drinks. I said sure and she’s like “Can my bf join?;)” Like tf! I unmatched immediately.

Oh I know that not all Dutchies are attractive (it just happens that all the ones I’ve come across have been quite easy on the eye). NL is a crowded country, there’s gotta be some HVM out there. I feel like not as many talk about Dutchies because they’re all starry eyed over Frenchmen (which is totally another story lol). Jesus he sounds like the lowest of the low. I’m glad you’ve left that relationship and I hope you’re moving on too xxx

Couldn't have said it better myself. Also on tinder I've actually met girls (I'm bisexual) who've admitted they're on tinder because their boyfriend's pressured them into finding a third or otherwise they're considered a prude.

It must be their diet and how advanced their skincare is. Oh boy I have and where do I begin, Guy asked me out after a whirlwind summer romance, I first said no because I thought the distance would be too hard (I'm British) and he insisted it wasn't a big deal because we could get trains to each other. I honestly think the country of gentlemen thing comes from TV shows (I've dated and slept with some of the posher boys and they were hands down the biggest idiots I've met). I'm Asian and the amount of creeps I attracted when I had Tinder was insane, I've had an unhealthy amount of dick pics sent to me and I've been disrespected so many times for not sending nudes. You summed it up perfectly. I once mentioned on a askmen thread (pre FDS) I kept attracting douchebags even though I was in my early twenties. I legit got a string of DMs telling me how the problem was with me and I was picking the bad ones because my early twenties was the best time to date. Like come on my dude, it's much easier to find a f-buddy than to find a good man who wants to be in it for the long haul. FDS just helps us filter out the bad eggs.

My brother in law had heard horrible stuff about FDS on reddit (he dabbles here and there) so I told him to give the handbook a read. He just scratched his head and said, "Why are guys complaining about this? This is literally how to avoid wasting time and settling on a bad relationship" Be wary of anyone who thinks that's bad tbh.

I was having a think about this when I was talking to another friend (who said she had quite an extreme reaction). I genuinely think our friendship could end over something like this and I’d be surprised if we’re still friends this time next year. I don’t know why she can’t see that I’m trying to look out for her. She’s had roughly 2 relationships every year since uni began and so I’ll be a bit wary for her :/ Edit- A word

Can't speak for myself but I can speak for my sister whose been with a HVM for the past ten years. She's definitely grown in confidence and become more assertive with what she wants. Career wise she levelled up massively because she got a job abroad and he encouraged her to go for it because he knew it would fast-track her career.

I disagree when you say that it's a Libfem message being pounded in our heads regarding being a donor single mother. It's not just a spur of a moment decision, it's something that women think about for years and don't normally do until their 30s, if we're going by stats. Also I'm not sure if you mean to come off as it but saying choosing donor sperm is confusing comes off as a bit condescending.

I see what point you're making but I've decided if it does go down that route I'd want my kids to have access to the donor once they turn 18 and I wouldn't spring something like that on them out of the blue. Valuing yourself and having good standards is all well and good but HVM are still a rarity and from what I've seen on this sub dating in your 30s is a nightmare. It's fine if you'd rather sue your ex for child support but I'd rather not put myself through something as emotionally taxing and …

There was a thread not too long ago somewhere asking lesbians what they were the most shocked at with straight relationships and the most rated one was something like "Dealing with bad sex and relationships where you're worried communication will offend them" Edit- I even see it with some of my gay friends when they get told by straight people what their relationships are like.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/10/20 04:46 PM

I couldn't care less if I get looked at as damaged goods for wanting to be a donor single mother. I'd rather have my kids grow up happy than be in an unstable environment whilst keeping up appearances.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/10/20 04:43 PM
15

I agree. I won't rule out meeting the One and settling down with them (if that kind of person for me exists) but my experiences have put me off dating totally. I've told myself if I'm single and childless by my mid 30s I'll have a baby by myself and hopefully I'd be in a good enough place career wise to do something like that if it comes to it.

Agree totally. I'm only in my early twenties but I've seen enough to think "Actually maybe having a kid through a sperm donor in 10 years and raising the baby myself." sounds a lot nicer than being married to someone who'd see marriage as getting tied down.

I think that's one of the most toxic things about marrying in Indian culture. I've noticed a lot in the West we see mother in laws as potential best friends and there isn't that thing about constantly pleasing them. It's partly one of the reasons I don't think I could marry an Indian (there are more personal reasons) just because I got told so many times that my standards of wanting a man who believed in equality in a relationship, was well read, not patronising, kind and a feminist were too hig…

Daily I have a skincare routine where I put on Vitamin C serum, eye cream and suncream. I don't wear makeup at all. Every Fridays I do an ice cold sheetmask and I exfoliate twice a week. I have shoulder length hair and I do a hairmask more or less twice a week. I wash my hair 3 times a week. Currently doing this diet to get to my goal weight if that counts as a beauty routine lol. Lost 3 inches off my weight in the past month.

Half Indian here. Honestly I'm not even surprised she's been referred to as something like this. The culture in India towards women is so so sexist and full of double standards men get away with basically murder in a lot of cases.

Honestly it's great you've brought this up. Not sure if any of you gals know of the Duggar family but they had a show on TLC about their fundie Christian life before there was a sex scandal. One of the daughters on that show gave birth to her first kid about two years ago and when she got interviewed she was saying how she'd never met a guy like her husband who'd dedicated himself so much to the baby. The dad had changed the nappy a few times, let her have naps and helped bathe the baby a few ti…

I agree! My brother in law actually told me in confidence on the side that's partly one of the reasons as to why he didn't really want to propose so early on :) He felt proposing would put pressure on my sister to put her plans on hold to suit him, which he didn't want. They're 25 and 26 now which isn't a terrible age to marry but they don't seem bothered at marrying 2/3 years later than planned because of the pandemic. Pahahahahaha this made me giggle out loud. I used to have an amazing one that I got for £50 but they stopped shipping it to where I live and I'm heartbroken. Also it's just worth splashing out with them because in the long term they last longer instead of having to buy a new one every few weeks.

It's both. I'm not sure where you've done your research from because quite frankly your viewpoint doesn't make sense. I see the USA as a dump (no offence to any Americans here but at least where I live in Europe allows abortion and there hasn't been a huge debate on it) when it comes to things such as abortion and women's rights because over the past few years there have been so many attempts to stop them.

Used to live in France (I'm actually British and our healthcare is totally free). When I was living there, the healthcare system is basically the government pays 70% of the cost and you cover the rest (and that's only if it's a huge accident or something). Loads of other stuff is free. If you get charged for Dr's appointments you fill out a form, send it away and you get reimbursed. I come from a country where abortion is more or less illegal and let me tell you it is consistently voted as one of the worst places to be a woman in because the culture is so sexist. Which is why I don't personally agree with your view of "Abortion allows men to abuse women." They're already being abused and sometimes abortion saves them from being abused even further. Back alley abortions happen but they happen with coat hangers and god knows what else. Banning abortions altogether won't solve…

I think sexual liberation is okay on a whole as long as you’re transparent with the partner (and vice versa), you’re safe (ie. protection) and you’re in control and are happy to cut the guy off if he crosses a boundary. This girl doesn’t seem it at all and I feel genuinely bad.

I disagree, my brother in law's the definition of a HVM and without sounding weird or anything, he's quite good looking. Whenever he goes out with friends to bars or whatever and my sister isn't there for whatever reason he always gets hit on. You can still be sexy and a nice person.

This reminds me of my pickme ex best friend (I've mentioned her a few times but she's a great example of why you should never be a pickme). Ironic how the ones who seem to pass out over the sight of a bit of hair in the wrong place seem to have next to no hygiene down there. During my pickme phase, I slept with a guy who boasted at how he was amazing at giving oral but flat out wouldn't do it if the girl had hair down there. There's this TV show called Drifters (for any Brits who fancy watching it, it's on Channel 4's website and for any non Brits, it's available on Amazon). It's a bit trashy but I liked it mainly because it's been an eye opener to what a pickme's like. Anyway, in one of the episodes, the main girl called Meg is sleeping with a guy who basically only calls her up for sex and strings her along. Her best friend tells her to ditch him because he doesn't want to label it but she's "nice" about it and pr…

She more or less hit the nail on the head. I've heard guys talk about how they straight up wouldn't date women who believe in the equality of the sexes and how the pay gap doesn't exist. But alas, they still feel entitled enough to think they deserve a stick insect with boobs who gives off the vibes they've never had sex, but is all about the sex.

Oh I agree. Some of my Muslim friends have told me their parents flat out won't let them settle unless the guy was raised in the West and was fine with the woman doing things like going to work. She has said she knows she'd have to give up her freedom of individuality if she marries him. I don't know how she doesn't see no man is worth giving up your freedom for.

Honestly, even before I converted to atheism my grandmother would tell me to stay away from them because no matter how liberal he was, there was a very good chance a solid number of his family members wouldn't be. As an atheist now, I don't think I could date someone religious unless they came from a reformed sect or something. I'm in early twenties and the idea of dating a 30 year old makes my stomach turn, I can't imagine what I'd be like with a 40 year old. I have said in a general sense, "Oh…

When he actually made that "I can tell you what to wear" comment she snapped back and said, "That's never going to happen" and he backed off. I think she kind of knows they can't be together in the way she wants them to because she's seen family members marry Muslims and the marriages have never worked out. I suggested m…

Thanks for replying and yes I agree! I don't want her to leave the relationship because I know she genuinely loves him and she's said breaking up would crush her. The problem with him is that he's actually chilled about her not converting after marriage, it's more his family are putting loads on pressure on him to and he seems to give into them everytime. He mentioned to her Muslim marriages give women more rights compared to Christian ones (I'm not 100% on how accurate this is tbh). I like to t…

Ikr! Like dude someone you're supposed to care about is suffering and you're cleaning the garage?? I read the thread, OP said she and the baby nearly died! Which makes it so much worse. It's lovely to see on the show very intimidating, tough looking guys with tattoos run around the room trying to make sure their partner has everything she needs and then tearing up when the baby comes out. My brother in law works in a VERY male dominated field (civil engineering) and they only have 5-6 women in a team of 30. One thing that will ALWAYS infuriate me about Asian culture (didn't wanna say the same with Nigerian just in case I was generalising), that it's totally fine for the guy to have a side piece whilst he's married. The wife's supposed to suck it up and deal with it because she probably caused the husband to stray in the first place. God forbid if the wife does something though.

I agree and I love a tall guy mainly so I have a human shield to protect me from flying drinks on nights out. But I think if he's HV and is 5'9-5'10 and you reject him purely because he's not 6 foot then it's a bit shallow. I'm tiny and anything above 5'9 is tall for me.

Preach girl honestly. I'm half Brazilian and it's got to the point I just stop mentioning it because so many men automatically assume I'm easy and I'm fine with being groped but Brazilians love that stuff apparently. It sucks but if it's any help you're not alone and pretty much every woman can relate to you. I'm not sure how old you are but I've had comments like that thrown at me and I'm only 22. Keep doing you, focus on levelling up and being your awesome self :) You are good enough.

I think also it just looks super awkward in pictures and with other stuff if the height gap is huge. I'm 5'2 and I dated someone who was 6'5. We couldn't even kiss standing up and some positions during freaky times weren't that great because he was just too tall.

I get the impression they want you (not you personally, just in general) as a fallback so they can present themselves as picture perfect with a nice wife whilst they've slept around. During my pickme phase I had guys say I'm the type of girl they know their mums would love but they don't want me enough to take me seriously. Like really hun? Ooof nearly 6 years and no ring? Brit here. I personally prefer European guys over British ones and I remember being told ages ago that Dutch men were quite HVM a lot of the times (I've had two bad experiences with them). Oh honey I disagree with religious laws because I think they're misogynistic and backward to women. Islamic countries(and any country that isn't secular) are famous for treating their women badly. You don't need to be religious to support the death penalty for murderers so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. I suggest you take your complaining elsewhere. I think that's why they're waiting so long. But like I said, loads of stuff can happen in the next 4 years, he was creepy even we before stopped chatting (would check out my ass, my friend's boobs etc) so it wouldn't surprise me if he cheats on her. I haven't been on Tinder in over a year now but even when I was chatting to some of my older colleagues (who are women in their 40s and 50s), they all said it was the same thing back when they were in their early 20s where it was easier to find casual sex than a relationship. You could argue there's taxis he could get. And you say you should get a car for emergencies, that could be hugely expensive on where you end up living, because of upkeep, insurance (not sure about the US but where I live if it's your first car the insurance goes into thousands) and a parking permit. I doubt many people have that much money to spend on something they'll only use for emergency cases. Edit- Wow and I'm literally getting downvoted for saying how expensive maintaining a car is?

Hugely depends on where you live. One of my colleagues is a HVM who learnt how to drive but he didn't bother getting a car because wherever he ended up living had really good reliable transport links. He only recently just got one because him and his family moved out to a more rural area.

Don't forget, Problems during the birth and you can't deal with his sexual needs? Your fault, you shouldn't have had an awkward birth in the first place. It saddens me at how stories I've read where women have scumbags of husbands but they can't do anything because they're reliant on them. Edit- There's this fairly well known Indian woman here in Britain whose campaigned against forced marriages and has a charity to deal with it. She did a Ted talk and she mentioned how her sister set herself on…

Speaking as a half Indian, EveningFires pretty much hit everything on the head. I cut my family off a long time ago because I didn't agree with what they thought of women but this are some things my Indian grandfather and my family did: - He raped my grandmother multiple times because he felt entitled to it and he cheated on her because after she had cancer, when she recovered all she wanted to do was sleep (understandably). Even after she recovered she was doing all the housework and he still f…

So one of the countries that's been praised for dealing with Covid so well is Finland and they recently elected a female PM. From what I've read, she's super popular and she comes off as a queen in general (they recently made parental leave equal and they're the first country to do that I think). I remember when I was reading about her getting elected on the DailyMail (Brits on here know what I'm talking about), the comments were insane. They ranged from "OMG she's chosen her entire cabinet to b…

I'd consider "Let my family try it" a compliment but if I was him I'd have said, "Oooh we should do a thing where we cook together with my family and we can see how it's made!" 10 whole meals he's taken from her and he's having a hissy fit over buying her a sandwich whilst she's starving. He could so easily turn this around by cooking her 10 meals in return or taking her out for a fancy dinner or making her a massive lasagne but nooo she's the one overreacting smh.

I honestly wish someone had told me a few years back that being called chilled in a romantic context wasn't a compliment. I used to wonder why I'd attract all these douchebags even though I was super nice and "chill" (looking back I just let a lot of their crap slide). My life's become so much easier now that I'm no longer the cool girl.

Probably! Like hun I'm at one of the best universities in my country I'm soooo brainwashed. He legit started to dig around in my post history to prove that I was a female and tried to pass off that he didn't care I thought he was sexist.

Also I am so sorry to hear that! Some men can be the biggest assclowns ever. I hope it's been cleared up now
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/04/20 11:45 AM

No I don't think she will listen tbh. She keeps talking about how lovely and charming he is instead and it's honestly cringey.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/04/20 11:44 AM
2

It's just strange because when she "attacks" me or is super blunt about my dating choices I normally it slide because I know she's being realistic. I don't think she thinks about the previous red flags, she just goes blank when she sees a guy who pays her a bit of attention. I don't envy her but Jesus I hope I have better luck in dating when I want to get into it.

I mean tbf I have low self esteem sometimes but even I can't imagine how being able to function with having a boyfriend one after the other.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/04/20 01:29 PM

As happy as I want her to be I can't understand why she's even willing to take that risk with someone she doesn't know very well.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/04/20 01:28 PM
1

Hers normally are. I think the only one where I got genuine HVM with was the guy she was last with but I'm pretty sure she's closed the door on him. Idk sometimes I can't help wondering in a way she's jealous I'm fine on my own and she partly lashes out because of that
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/04/20 07:45 AM

I think I'm just liking the single life a little bit too much lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 10:39 PM

I'm not sure why because I think with things like my looks I'm so much more insecure compared to her but the idea of getting a boyfriend every few months makes me slightly sick. I think I like my independence way too much.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 10:32 PM

Funny because this time last year I used to envy how easily she used to get boyfriends and now in a weird way I can't help pitying her.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 09:26 PM
4

She's basically been the same after every single relationship where 5 months or so after it ended she'll have another boyfriend, gush about them and how they're the one, it'll end and it's the same thing again. Last time I fell in love was 5 years ago. After my breakup I had a whole load of disappointing experiences off Tinder last year where guys were basically just using me or stringing me along. Last summer I basically told myself I'd only get tinder on holiday and that would purely be for a …

I've told her I'm not going to say anything more just because she's seemed to have made her mind up about what she wants.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 09:01 PM
5

The sad part is I think you're right. Her relationships have normally lasted 6 months at most and I'm not confident this'll last considering they're in the early stage and already doing long distance. She's said after corona their families are going to meet though so she must be serious about this guy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 08:19 PM

Thank you! Fingers crossed I'm single for another year or so lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 07:54 PM

I know there are! I'm lucky to have a solid circle of really good friends. Do you think she's a pickme?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 07:48 PM
9

No it's not tbh. I don't get why she can't take her own advice when she said at the end of the argument she appreciated me looking out for her but she'd thought it through. I think I'm going to distance myself from her and not really talk about any of my dating life if I have any in the next few months.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 07:45 PM
4

She said she hung up because she felt "attacked" and overwhelmed. I normally don't take any crap from her especially so we're not really speaking atm. Do you think I pushed too hard or I was okay? Edit- A word
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 07:41 PM

Told him to tbh he looks scary enough to start one. It's funny because when they were at uni his friends who were in relationships used to say he was stupid when he told them he wasn't going to leave her despite the mental health problem or the job abroad. Fast forward a few years, all his friends are either unhappily single or stuck in unhealthy relationships and you'd think my sister and bro in law are like those old married couples you read about.

My sister's fiance is the reason as to why I'm so picky with who I go for. They met when they were 15 and have been together for about 10 years now. When I met him I was a bit sceptical about him but there are some things he's done over the years that's convinced me guys like him just don't exist anymore or are super rare: - When they were both at university my sister sometimes finished her exams a week or so later than him which meant when he got back home from a celebration night out she'd be …

Nope I don't plan to work in academia I want to do something related to journalism or publishing. I'm just worried if I went for a journalism interview they'd ask about my dissertation but then again I'm thinking surely they'd prefer it if I could write under pressure like I do with exams?

In my experience a lot of those types are also super insecure in their own sex lives. My ex best friend's boyfriend was super interested in my body count and my other best friend's body count (he was a virgin until he met my ex bestie). When he found out that information, he went on the sloot shaming warpath. Half pathetic and half laughable to see.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 07:10 PM
28

I felt sick reading that. Reminds me of when a guy was fingering me and then out of the blue jabbed his two fingers in my mouth. I was so pissed I put my clothes on and told him he got that from porn so he's not as experienced as he made out to be and he's a twat.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/03/20 10:37 AM
13

Yep! I've given up on them and I've accepted my ideal guy probably doesn't exist.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/03/20 12:55 AM

Totally relate. At this point you can't tell if they're being nice because they genuinely wanna know you or if they just want a fuck
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/03/20 12:54 AM

Yes!! The guy who bullied me mercilessly as a teenager was disgusting to look at and he destroyed my self esteem because of it. We went to different unis but I bumped into him a year or so ago and he had the nerve to ask me out for a drink. Told him to fuck off and the look on his face was priceless.

Wow I had no idea! Thank you for telling me! I want someone whose gonna be involved with the kid so I'm gonna have to find a gem. Ps. Yep! When we met he came off as shy and sweet so I didn't even think he was capable of being the way he turned out to be. I think the girl strung him along and he just picked her because she was closer. I'd have killed to see his face when I sent him a message telling him to f*ck off because I would never be his backup.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/02/20 09:44 PM

At least you learnt from that mistake now. I hope your ex caught something nasty there. My ex was sort of like that (he was Dutch too fml) and we were long distance. First few months he was everything I'd wanted. Made time for me, always made me feel great about myself and all that. Two weeks before I was meant to go visit him he drops a text message from me saying he's found a girl back home in the Netherlands and he can't see me. He came crawling back three weeks later (once I was over him) sa…

No offence taken at all. I don't know now in all honesty. I think a part of me was warming upto the idea of something but another wanted to keep it casual. And he mentioned "Let's keep talking because I do enjoy talking to you" and he clearly was BSing on that as I've learnt from tonight. Thank you though. It helps that I've got a few travel plans for this year and he lives in a different country from me. I'll give it a few weeks and hopefully I'll put it behind me.

I live in France and I haven't been dating around at all (not because of him just because I didn't wanna deal with the emotional clutter that comes with dating apps). I go back to university in a few months and I have zero plans to date around then either :I
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/02/20 08:30 PM

Well they value equality in a relationship apparently. Which I want too but jesus be consistent ffs.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/02/20 08:19 PM

Self reflection's happening atm and I'm starting to become more glad in a weird way that it happened now as opposed to a few more months down the line. I'm still upset but I'm calming down.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/02/20 08:18 PM
18

No he definitely isn't my ideal guy. I want to kick myself for being such an idiot. And tbh if he is pursuing other women it wouldn't surprise me because he's good looking and he can be charming (as I learnt that hard way). Jesus your ex was trash :I

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/02/20 06:35 AM

No I shouldn't. She's made comments like "Oh I don't think you're ready to be in a relationship" and I'm thinking woman I might not be but I'm not gonna be as naive as you when I am like??
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 08:27 AM
1

With her, it's more talk about it until it starts to seriously annoy you. I'm not a massively lovey dovey person but she is so the talking is annoying asf. During all my heartbreaks she's been everything a good friend should be but I just don't get why she can't go 5 minutes without having a boyfriend and then when I mention I'm casually talking to someone she gets critical.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 08:21 AM
2

I'm lucky because I have friends who are single and don't really take BS from anyone, let alone a guy. I'm just gobsmacked because since I moved there too I've been doing nothing but travelling but I don't even think she's left the region she's in because of this guy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 08:17 AM
1

I know that I want a relationship in the future so I can have some form of stability. I'm just wondering why she can't stay single for longer than 5/6 months considering her last boyfriend she said was "the one"
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 08:13 AM
2

It annoys me because she's super supportive of me doing things like travelling around. But oml if I had a pound for everytime she spoke about her boyfriend during holiday I would have an amazing holiday alone somewhere in a 5 star hotel
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 08:11 AM

Whenever a guy does that I just say "Oh goody I've been ready to be a mum for so long now!!"
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/02/20 08:10 PM

I legit had one guy message me calling me a hoe when I made a post about how a guy who I had a horrible sexual experience with tried to pressure me for nudes. Like okay hun don't get annoyed you get zero action from Mummy's basement.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/02/20 05:04 PM
4

Yep! She's said how he's super needy and he acts like a douchebag and I'm thinking why tf don't you leave him. Like honestly cry me a river I'd rather be single than deal with a manchild. She's defo become bitchier. I distanced myself from her months ago thankfully.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/02/20 10:31 AM
2

Oh he definitely is. We tried to organise stuff with just us three (even tho she saw him twice a day) but the whole time either he came along or she talked about him constantly. Looks like that's the same road I'm gonna go down. I can't see myself being friends with her again.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/02/20 09:40 AM
6

Yep! He even admitted he'd been flirting with me and I think she got pissed that she had basically put herself out there and yet he was messaging me more than her. Honestly me too. Caramel's been in situations where she's had to pick the guy or me and she's chosen me everytime so she's genuine. I doubt she'll see the error of her ways. She's both too arrogant and pathetic. Dammit now I want pastries.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/02/20 09:37 AM
2

I agree with the venting bit but she made it pretty clear early on that she was willing to ditch her friends for a guy. Back in the summer she was laughing and was quite happy that a friend of hers that I hate with a passion had bonded with him over how much they disliked me. Cba for friends like that. She's done too much damage and she's welcome to relying on her toxicass boyfriend for validation.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/02/20 09:35 AM
2

What gobsmacks me is that they have such a toxic relationship and she insists that everyone's jealous of her relationship. If my new boyfriend had told me to ditch my best friend I'd have dumped him on the spot. And I shall do! But tbh I can see her marrying him and becoming a Stepford wife so I don't plan to lose sleep over it
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/02/20 09:27 AM
8

I think she definitely has a fear of being single because she used to overcompensate for her single life by saying how much she loved being single and all that. She defo has low self esteem issues. Not sure about abandonment considering she has a very stable family life and she's had a very charmed life compared to me and Caramel. Honestly whilst I don't put it past him, I doubt he had to do much. She was telling him our secrets like a month into them seeing each other and a close friend of hers…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/02/20 01:33 AM
10

Tbh me and Caramel have agreed between ourselves we don't really want to deal with someone as toxic as her if they do breakup and she comes back. Her parents are actually quite supportive and they really like him. At first he comes off as really quiet and shy which is probably why they've warmed up to him. And Coconut's painted a bad pic of me and Caramel but an amazing one of him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/02/20 01:28 AM
12

Understandably. I can't imagine having such low standards that I stay with someone abusive :/
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/02/20 08:00 PM

Oh my that's straight up stupid of Lisa. I'd have jumped at the chance if I was her :I What's happened to her now? Men like that never change tbh.

Shocks me how some girls are willing to throw away everything for a LVM just because being single scares them.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/02/20 05:50 PM

Having dated a few Dutch guys, I will say lots of LVM there exist but they also seem to be a lot more open to the idea of a relationship.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/02/20 05:45 PM

Convinced that she is tbh she looks better than me and I'm in my early 20s
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/02/20 05:43 PM

Looking back I should have. I'm glad I ditched her sooner than later now I guess.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/02/20 05:34 PM
22

He's actually gaslighted her a few times but when two of our other friends (a psychology and a law student of all degrees) she ignored it and said she loved him and he wasn't like that and we were just picking on him. One thing we all agree on (apart from her) is that he's a narcissist. A huge one.

Said it louder for the people in the back!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/02/20 04:29 PM

My godmother used to say to me when I was a teenager, "Never trust a charming man" and I never really understood what she meant until I went to university and began sleeping/dating around. And I found out the ones who'd been the most charming were also the most LVM I'd ever come across. Not saying all charming men are douchebags but that piece of advice is definitely something I take seriously now. My guard goes up around them.

Honestly I think she's only converted in the hopes she gets laid finally. Which is a totally legit reason to convert amirite.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/01/20 10:02 PM
1

I completely agree with you and that's the sad thing. I don't think she's gonna realise it until it's too late. It's weird, he doesn't believe in divorce but he's more than happy to have slept around but god forbid she tries to end things with him because he's treated her like crap. Thing is I don't want to push too much in case she becomes resentful. But her naivety astonishes me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/01/20 09:56 PM
2

I've tried to point out to her it's not fair that she has to wait around for him while he's the one who basically got to enjoy his early twenties whereas she's just starting out. I think Peaches is so easily manipulated because she's never had a boyfriend and for some reason she's too nervous to lose this one even though he's not even a catch.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/01/20 09:53 PM

Honey you're creating conclusions out of nothing so I suggest you go read a book or something . It's definitely not because she's black that I dislike her. Perhaps Kate Middleton does but she's been in the RF for much longer and she doesn't boast about her charity work. Anyway at least you now know why a lot of Brits don't like her :)

Wow I never thought of dating like that what an eye opener
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/19 02:07 PM

I'll tell you why a lot of Brits don't like her. She preaches being humanitarian but spends god knows how much of tax payer's money on outfits. She talks about climate change but constantly jets around in planes. Kate Middleton was called a gold digger originally but the main difference before her and Meghan is that she's kept a fairly low profile as a royal in comparison hence why she's a lot more popular. And you haven't had her old friends coming out and calling her a user like Meghan's have.…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/19 02:04 PM

She just comes off as incredibly narcissistic and I get the impression she's with him for the money and nothing else.

I don't have any sadly. Only my memories and her mentioning it. My other best friend could back me up but she's living with my ex best friend
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/10/19 01:20 PM
3

Oh I did when I found out what she'd told him. She then proceeded to call me a liar (she'd told him she'd never done anything with a boy before him when she used to hookup with guys the most after nights out) and he believed her lol.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/10/19 10:20 AM
5

Oh yes my ex best friend's boyfriend did this! She told him about my sexual past for some reason and he went around telling his friends I slept with different guys every week lmao. Like hun do you have any idea how exhausting it is sleeping with one guy let alone multiple? I think it was jealousy in this situation because he was 25 when he had his first proper girlfriend and nobody wanted to date him before whereas I obviously was being a sort of typical student.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/10/19 11:07 PM
38

It's funny because during my first year of university I had a bit of a casual sex phase and I remember chatting to this guy who seemed nice enough at first and he mentioned "Oh be honest about your sexual past", I mention I slept around during uni and he immediately began slut shaming. ??? Like okay hun don't get pissed at me just because I have more game than you?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/10/19 03:11 PM

If I had a pound for every time a boy on Tinder told me that when I still had it.
