Right, so I have a best friend (let's call her Amy) who recently broke up with her ex boyfriend because they had just become long distance and neither could handle it. Me and my other friend told her to use the remaining time abroad by travelling around and working on herself etc. Last week she revealed she has a new French boyfriend (it's only been two months since her last breakup and she leaves France in May/June and has no plans to return).

Now she's welcome to do whatever she pleases, but I remember a few months ago she told me I wanted a relationship for validation (which is BS it's more stability and someone I can hate very cringey couples with). This comment left me fuming but she said it during our holiday and I didn't want to create waves.

Since we became best friends two years ago she's had four boyfriends and every single time she's dismissed red flags I've pointed out and has insisted that he's "the one". I've been technically single for about two and a half years now (me and him were long distance and he basically ended it over a text saying he'd found a girl back home before crawling back two weeks later asking for another chance).

Since then, I've become a lot more cautious of men and even the ones I meet on holiday I kind of keep at an arm's lenght and take everything they say with a pinch of salt. Despite that, she told me the other day she didn't think it was so wise to date long distance with this Dutch boy I was casually speaking to (even though I've got plans to move and settle in the Netherlands next year). But when she announced she had a new boyfriend she got annoyed with me as to why I didn't say anything.

I have no desire to be in a relationship until I'm properly settled but am I overreacting by letting that comment she made bug me?
