As other posters have said it's a two way street you both have to put the effort in to stay attractive to each other. You wouldn't stay with a woman who decided to let herself go after 5 months so why should a woman? Also in times before women didn't really have anything, they were more like items. That produced boys and sometimes girls.

I try to keep the texting brief, I try to apply a tip I've read on here and avoid an opening text of just hi. If I haven't sent them a text or a call in a while I'll try to when something interesting(funny, cool, etc...) has happened.

It happens alot and works. On a site I used there was a small fad where everyone copied this guys profile(PoF) or made versions of it, the profile itself was a collection of random things that women could reply to rather than being about them.
