Getting a full body massage helps. Get nails done. Feet done. They usually give a nice hand and foot massage.

Hi. Not married but understand your anxieties. First of all - sounds like you need a new therapist since essentially she’s disregarding your feelings by telling you not to worry. The reason I understand your anxiety is because I would feel the same way. My therapist kind of explained it like even though commitment is what I want it’s a scary thing because it’s a path I haven’t been down. Whereas failed relationships - in a sense that’s comforting because I’ve been there done that. Did you have f…

I like this guy named Jeff Nippard. He provides scientific backed research and cites it and he’s all about weightlifting and hypertrophy. His YouTube vids are very detailed in depth. Highly recommend. If I want a quick vid to see form I like to check out Herman Fitness. I like his form videos and well I find him amusing.

Hi. I haven’t read the other comments so pardon me if I repeat some things that have already been suggested but I made myself a personal breakup guide and I’ll provide it here: Immediate no contact and no last msgs or emails after the breaking up for “closure”. Focus on yourself - hobbies, gym, journal, self care. Take time to feel the hurt feelings. Shoving them down will make them come up later and more intensely.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. I can kind of relate because I just turned 35 but I guess I don’t feel as down about it and that’s probably because I’ve been spending a lot of time cultivating hobbies etc. Question - what do you do for fun? Hobbies? I ask because I think it’s best to forgo apps and try to meet people in person. For instance, I am working up to 5k to join a running club in my neighborhood. It’s FULL of young people. Going to the gym at the same time every day has allowed me to…

Also just wanted to add that I think your husband can find you beautiful even at 70. My friends Mom is 70 and I think she is beautiful. She takes really good care of herself, dresses really nicely and has this beautiful silver hair. I’m sure her husband appreciates that she isn’t frumpy.

Yes. I think where you live can play a part for sure. Urban versus rural / small town / smaller city. That’s really nice you want to stay attractive for your husband. Maybe this sounds hokey but I believe what’s on the inside also reflects on the outside. A beautiful woman with a bad attitude is just not as pretty as a beautiful woman who is secure and happy with her life and herself.

Yes. It is obviously possible to age more gracefully with good habits. Someone who exercises, drinks lots of water and healthy foods, cuts out or significantly cuts down on alcohol consumption, wears sunscreen on face every day, washes make up off etc etc will obviously age better than someone who parties constantly, doesn’t exercise, eats crap and doesn’t take care of their skin. Genetics obviously play a part but you can still influence with a healthy lifestyle. This may be controversial for m…

I think "butterflies" are actually our bodies having physiological response to someone that is actually not good for us. I believe they are a warning sign. However, the way you describe this guy... you shouldn't be with him. Think about if a man described you in this way? Do you want your future children to have a role model of a dad that drives drunk? Something to think about. Your attraction to him has shot up because you’re anxious, but from what we are reading, logically you should not be attracted to him. Space and time away is really needed for you.

Even if this was the case, making any effort at this point is a waste of time and will only push him further away. Give him the space / breakup he wants by exiting his life and moving on. Easier said than done, I realize but it must be done.

I dated a man with teenage kids for about two years and never once during that time was I ever compared to his ex wife (at least not out loud and if he compared me to her in his head I was winning every time). Ultimately we broke up and I will say a big reason for that was due to him having children bc he realized he didn’t want to have anymore. Question - How do you know he doesn’t value morality as much as you do? Just because someone isn’t pious doesn’t mean they don’t value morality as much as someone who is pious and and just because someone is pious doesn’t mean they value morality more than someone who isn’t pious.

It’s true many strains clear up but it’s also very likely they will come back. They lay dormant. Why would you not get the Guardisal shot? It is safe. You’re right in that it doesn’t protect against all strains but it protects against some of the cancer causing ones.

You don’t need to have sex to contract HPV. There are hundreds of different variants of HPV. A plantar wart that you can pick up barefoot at a pool is HPV. So even if you are a virgin and so is your husband you should still get the vaccine.

My first serious boyfriend from when I was 20 was so poor that he barely had enough to buy toilet paper. But at the time I really didn’t care because I enjoyed spending time with him. We were together for years. Eventually he started making a ton of money and then he actually accused me of only being with him because he makes a lot of money. Lol ok. Anyway yea he became a dick. And I left.

I’m not begging, I’m leaving. And this is the first man I ever lived with and we had a conversation about marriage before I moved in to which he said he had no doubts and we would get engaged shortly after. He just said that he changed his mind and thinks our personalities won’t match to hold up a successful marriage. It’s disappointing because it’s true we don’t have the same personality but I liked that and it was obvious before moving in together. But he has decided we are no longer compatible enough. So I think the only thing left is to pull an exit strategy because I can’t continue to live with someone that doesn’t see a future with me. If there is an alternative and a way to make it better I …

Yea I mean we have talked about this on and off for a couple of months now so it isn’t something that’s happening quickly. He has said that he doesn’t feel our personalities are compatible to have a successful marriage and I really think I should just respect his decision. Not everyone has to get married but it’s important to me and I’d like to be with someone who does think we are compatible and would be excited about spending their life with me.

I’ve been getting waxed down there for over 10 years. At this point it’s no big deal. But the first time - yes it will hurt a lot. If you decide to get waxed you can take an OTC painkiller before hand and make sure wherever you go they are using hard wax for the area. Hard wax only binds to the hair follicle so it hurts less. Soft wax binds to hair follicle and skin so is more painful.

May I ask what you contracted? Bc if you contracted HPV then yea, it's highly possible he didn't cheat on you. You can get the HPV virus without having sex ( example - plantar warts are one of the many strains of the HPV virus that you can contract at public pools). If it is HPV it's also possible you got it from a previous partner and have had it for years and that it's just gone undetected. HPV can lay dormant and not show up in a pap smear. I really want to make cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning but I’ve never made them before! All recipes I’ve looked up seem to take hours. So how do you do them? Do you just wake up really early or do you make them the night before and keep them in the fridge overnight?

Reccomend doing with the vitamix? My plan is to make the following with it: -purée soups -almond butter, peanut butter etc. -almond milk -hollandaise sauce -any type of marinades I can think of for meats -grating cheeses (this is my most hated kitchen task and I’m thinking the vitamix can just do this for me when I buy blocks of real Parmesan) -salsas and any kids of dips. I especially can’t wait to make my own hummus and spinach dips -pesto -salad dressings Dang I can’t wait until Christmas. Ho…

I swear by my kitchen aid mixer! Just made my boyfriend the most delicious cheesecake for his bday. No way I could have done that without the mixer. And I’m excited for Christmas because I think he may have bought me a vitamix. Can’t wait to get my hands on that. Can do soooo many things with it.

Have you ever tried embroidery? It’s actually quite simple and there are kits you can buy off of Etsy that come with patterns. You can find some cute/romantic patters and it’s very affordable to get a lot.

And thank you for the advice.

To be honest if he said it was years away I wouldn’t stay. When I was in my 20s I stayed with someone for seven years thinking we would get married bc that’s what he told me. Although I’m so happy to no longer be in that relationship and now see marrying him would have been a huge mistake my biggest regret with that relationship is that I didn’t leave sooner. That’s not to say I’m only looking to get married and don’t care who it’s with - but that it’s important to me to be married and I truly b…

Is it? I mean he did go on dates with other women but said he never clicked with anyone. Is that still a red flag? If so, do you mind expanding on why? We also went on a date in 2014 but since we worked together at that time I told him I didn’t think it would be appropriate to go out again and we went our separate ways until last year after he moved companies and I worked through some person stuff (quitting drinking).

Even if this was said out of frustration how could this thought have even been in the realm of possibility in his mind if he wasn’t into her as more than a friend? Yikes. I’d be super weary about this. AND you wrote he had feelings for her in highschool but he never acted on them because she wasn’t available? Double yikes. I gave you a specific reason unrelated to their sexuality - I am a jealous person and don’t want to feel like I’m competing against both sexes. If someone wants to assume people who don’t want to date bisexuals have homophobic tendencies I can’t stop them. However, even if I am to say the reason is specific to their sexuality - that still doesn’t make me tend toward homophobia. People are allowed to have preferences without being labelled as a hater or whatever. I don’t want to date women - that…

Well even so if he really did want you he wouldn’t let fear of you thinking he’s a jackass and not want to hear from him ever again stop him from contacting you. Men don’t let women they are into get away so easily. I don’t mean to be rude - but I do want to be blunt instead of beating around the bush: this isn’t a unique dating situation - he is just not that into you. Don’t you find it strange that he only said he missed you because he saw you? If you didn’t run into him at the gym this wouldn’t be happening. Plus he dumped you bc he got swept up? What? If he really cared about you that wouldn’t have happened. He isn’t interested in anything more than sex. Find someone else.

You don’t see why men would like someone that has boundaries and knows what they want and doesn’t allow ppl to walk all over them? You can be a kind, sweet, agreeable person at the same time.

I don’t believe you’re lessening your chances of living at home unless living at home prevents you from going out and meeting people. But living with your parents in and of itself is fine. I’m 31 and live in my Mom’s basement bc renting a 1 bedroom apartment in the city I live in is now $2000.00 a month. My boyfriend is 43, divorced, two kids, owns his own house and doesn’t care that I still live at home. If anyone looks down on you for it, forget them. Edit: a spelling mistake.

I wouldn’t say men are more attracted to blondes but if you want to go blonde for yourself please go see a professional. Also, highlights require a ton of upkeep and costs a lot of money to maintain. If you want something more low maintenance you could get balayage. It won’t require you to have your roots touched up every 8 weeks.

This relationship has outlived its purpose. Look up sunk cost fallacy in relationships. You had good years but now it’s over. Sometimes that happens. Also, if a friend told you this is what her relationship was like, or if any of us posted something like this, what would you say? You will NOT regret leaving. Maybe early stages you might but in time you’ll come to find you were just scared. Life isn’t meant to be like this.

Along with that vintagegirlgame wrote you can also use an app to track your cycle so that you can become familiar with your ovulation window. Kindara is a good app for this. I have been using fertility awareness method as a form of birth control for 7 months now. I’m so happy to not be taking a pill and I’m so happy that I don’t have a foreign object inside me.

Pretty much the same advice as you. I heard it in Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture. I highly recommend watching this if you haven’t seen it. It’s on YouTube. He said "do not pay attention to what a man says, only pay attention to what he does.” Completely agree although it took me awhile to actually listen to that advice. However I would add that the only time you should listen to a man’s words over his actions is when he is saying he doesn’t want to be with you.

I took the pill for practically 10 years. I've been off of it now for about 2. I'm really happy about it. I do have a boyfriend and we do have sex. I have been using fertility awareness method for preventing pregnancy. Would only recommend this method if you're diligent about tracking your cycle and taking your basal body temp everyday to confirm ovulation. Then don't have sex or just use condoms during the ovulation period. The Kindara app helps you with tracking everything - from body temp to …

I’m still unsure at 31. The idea of having a baby and a family is nice but I’m not sure I’ll go on to do it. I’m so afraid for the future and I wouldn’t want to bring a child into the world unless serious changes are made to protect the environment and combat global warming. And even then I still may not. Shouldn’t one be 100% certain they do want a baby? I struggle with this question every day. But I do still want to get married. 100%. No doubts about that.

I think that in the morning is fine. You could put on a vitamin C serum after toning and before your moisturizer and sunscreen. But at night - that would be a good time to use some retinoids and AHAs / BHAs.

I’d look into getting some skin care products. Something with AHAs, BHAs. Definitely a vitamin C serum for brightening. The best part about their products is that they are very affordable. Definitely start there. The website can help you tailor to what you’re looking for. He slept with a mutual friend?! You cope by dumping him and cutting him out of your life and moving on. And that girl who you say is your mutual friend - she is not your friend. I suppose you could tell him that you no longer want the two of you to hang out in this friend circle but that will probably seem controlling and just bring more drama. This man isn’t red pill material imo.

Just became official with a man I've been seeing. We met at work 5 years ago. Would get coffees and stuff etc. Then went on an actual date three years ago and then didn't go out again bc I didn't think it was okay to date someone at work and I didn't want to deal with gossipping. He got a job elsewhere and we went out on a second first date and then kept going on dates. It's been three months now and I'm just so happy to know him. He is everything. I have this sub to thank too. During that time …

So I’ve been secretly reading this sub for a good year and well I’ve never commented because I know this isn’t really a place for women and I can respect that but I like posts like this. So thank you. It’s really helpful and I’ve learned a lot from this sub and will continue to creep.

I understand what you’re saying. I have read/heard it’s more authentic to say “I love you because....” then list the reasons why you love the person. Anyway, thank you for sharing your story. I wish you well on your journey of love, too. 😊

I'm so so sorry. I hate to be so cliche but the biggest factor for healing from a breakup is going to be time. However, you can make that time work faster by doing the following things: Break contact once you move out. Seriously. Keeping in touch will only delay your healing. If you're meant to be friends then you can do that a year from now. I think breaking contact is the most important thing. I have two friends who haven't moved on from boyfriends bc they refuse to do this and they are only g…

You did not drive your boyfriend to cheating. I think it would be a mistake to look at it that way. You said he started doing this in the beginning of your relationship. This isn't a you problem. This says more about what kind of person he is then it does you. I think you maybe mistakenly thought that this advice here would work with any man and any relationship. I'm so sorry you thought that. I am glad you're not together anymore and I hope you won't get back together in the future. The advice …

Hi there. I don't drink anymore. It's been over a year now. I stopped because I felt as though it was holding me back from reaching my true potential. Plus it's very unhealthy and can age you. I wasnt good at moderating and just decided it was something I didn't want to do and quitting would be easier. It isn't weird or difficult in social situations any longer. It was hard for a bit but now I like it. I go out, have fun and leave by midnight when everyone is loaded. Edited for grammar

I looked at some posts over there. Their sidebar indicates the scale they use is more harsh. I looked at some posts and people were getting banned for rating people as a 7. Saw another post there a girl who was very beautiful was rated as a 6.5 and one of the commentators said to look at their guide on the sidebar because a 6.5 is like a real world 8. So I wouldn't worry about being rated over in that sub. But one can always improve on looks! whether that's by exercising, working on your self es…

Don't go back to your ex. For the simple reason that you say you see he has good "potential." It's unfair to date people for their potential because what if they don't meet your expectations of potential? If you don't want to be with him for who he is today it is best to keep moving forward. Please note this is coming from someone who's ex said they changed and made a mistake and wanted to marry them and that was three years ago and I am single so I may be a little biased.

Get yourself a tongue scraper. Gross to talk about but life-changing. I've been using one for a year now twice a day - once in the morning and once before bed and I never have bad breath anymore, not even in the mornings. You can buy them at health stores and Amazon. They are very cheap. Also it's good not to rinse out toothpaste after you're done brushing - just spit out as much excess toothpaste as possible. Floss. Seriously. Adding more: Don't use a whitening toothpaste or charcoal toothpaste…

Hi there, possibly stupid question - is there something one should do after the simmering of the citrus peels or is it that you just simmer them for the day to freshen the air and then throw them out?

I found this tip for housekeeping in an askwomenover30 thread. This woman wrote that everyday she will set a timer for 15 minutes and clean whatever she can in the 15 minutes and then stop. She referred to this as “guriella cleaning.” I’ve been doing this everyday for the last 3 weeks and it’s really helped to keep things tidy throughout the week without feeling like I spend hours cleaning.

This is going to sound horrible of me but I resist eating junk food like most of my coworkers do around me by simply thinking how I do not want to be fat and unhealthy like them. So I simply resist the cravings by eating something healthy instead and thinking about how much my life would suck if I was fat. Also think about how much work you put in at the gym. Why would you want to ruin that for junk food? Not worth it. I pretty much always eat healthy but to get back on the path of eating health…

Sunscreen on your face every damn day. Also, that boys at that age really don’t matter. If I could go back I’d work on myself more and focus more on school and have cultivated a talent and not have had a boyfriend. We didn’t have social media when I was a teenager and I’m so thankful for that. If I was a teen now I think one of the best things you could do is not spend so much time on social media. It’s a huge time waster.

Just wanted to let you know that being single as an adult really sucks (or dating as an adult does). I cannot tell you whether that’s your hamster going or something else but just wanted to let you know that people usually want what they don’t have and if I found someone I loved and respected I’d hold on to them for dear life. Your doctor told you 110 and 120 is too small? That’s ridiculous. 110-120 is not too small for your heights. I am 5’7” and weigh 118. I do not look unhealthy. You can be 110.

I had a stye that got infected (gross I know). Well I wouldn’t leave my house all week because of it. I am just so thankful that the antibiotics I’m on are working because I was able to leave my house today. I understand in the first place I should be thankful it’s only a stye - not as if I have cancer or anything. Perhaps that makes me a little vain. Either way though - just so grateful my eye doesn’t look horrid anymore. 🙏🏻

It is hard to predict, I agree. There have been two instances where I dated two different men for more than two months, slept with them and they both ghosted. Happened again recently with another man, though I didn’t wait that long. I didn’t have sex for an entire year. Seems to be a sort of damned if you do, damned if you don’t.. I think you’re right - that the only option is to not have sex at all. Update: I handled it by doing nothing. Though what I really wanted to do was call them out. Espe…

Wow. Thank You, DelicateDevelopment. Truly. This was very thought out and detailed and what I needed. I will keep coming back to this until I have moved on. I feel like I have a lot I could learn from you and a lot more to learn from this sub in general. I'm 30 but a bit of a late bloomer (think that's because I spent the majority of my 20s in a toxic relationship) so now I feel very inexperienced with dating and letting someone lead. I should re read this. I’m new to the whole vetting thing (which feels silly since I’m 30 but that’s probably bc I spent too many years in a toxic relationship then had to spend time alone to work on myself). Thank you for the reminder of those concepts.

I suppose that’s true - that it affirms I was more into him than him, me. That wouldn’t bother me per say but I do understand why you’re saying. I should accept not everyone is as direct as me. Ego is definitely bruised. I suppose that’s natural. Thank you for the reply.

So I could be completely wrong (I’m single, so really what do I know) but I have to wonder if he set up the second date so quickly because he wanted to have sex and thought it may happen on the second date? Now he’s been on 3 dates and it hasn’t happened so is possibly becoming disinterested because of a lack of physical contact... someone linked here the other day to a blog called “Black Girls Are Easy” and he talks about this exact scenario in his book “Men Dont Love Women Like You.”

Well I mean I can’t always control my thoughts. But when I’m having crazy thoughts I just tell myself “thoughts are just thoughts, they are not necessarily real.” Just bc you have a thought - like, oh my boyfriend doesn’t care because he hasn’t texted me today - I recognize it for what it is - just a thought. It isn’t true. So I would never bring these thoughts up to whomever my boyfriend is bc that would be the absolute wrong thing to do. Also I meditate and am into stoicism and I find the phil…

I read online for tips that a good thing to do is wear an elastic band on your wrist and every time you swear pull the eslastic so that it slaps you. Might be hard to do push-ups in public if you swear while you’re out!! Also read a good thing to try to curb the swearing is to not swear in your head. So get rid of it in your thoughts too. :)
