I’m in the same spot kids, depression, looking at my life like “how the hell did I end up here?” It’s brutal. And yeah, people love to say it gets better… what they really mean is you just get used to carrying it. Time doesn’t fix much, it just dulls it enough so you can function without losing your mind every day. I’m still not “good,” just less wrecked than I was. Dating? Hard pass. I’m not interested in wasting time, money, or energy pretending I believe in that whole setup again. I’ve seen h…

Trust me…she knows what she’s doing, and she knows you see it too. The best way to handle it, in my opinion, is to not engage with any of that. You don’t need the details, and honestly, you don’t want them. The only thing that matters is clear communication about the times that affect the kids…especially handoffs. Put your focus where it belongs, on yourself and your relationship with your kids. And remember, you don’t owe her any favors. If watching the kids outside of your time is going to cut…

I’m a recently divorced father of two kids, ages 10 and 11. One thing I’ve made sure to tell them, and will keep reminding them is that none of this is their fault. Not even a little. I don’t know if every dad feels this way, but I carry a lot of guilt about putting them through this at their age. It feels like their mom and I fell short in alot of ways, and they’re the ones dealing with the impact of that. Also, we share 50/50 custody, and I’ve made it clear to them that they can be at either p…

Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate the feedback. This whole divorce thing is the biggest mind fuck and half the time I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing or the wrong.

My daughter was with her and watched the whole thing play out, she knew what was going on I’m sure. I tried my best to not let her see me upset and even covers for her mom. I wanted to tell her how big of a pos her mom is but I would never, she will have to see that for her self if it’s true, or just my opinion

Chat GTP has saved me thousands throughout my divorce and is a friend therapist and mentor. Anytime I had to communicate with my ex-wife during the divorce. I ran it through ChatGPT , and you would be amazed how easy it is to hurt yourself legally, just by saying the wrong things. It’s not a replacement for a lawyer or a therapist, but it does a pretty goddamn good job at it

I’m in my 40s and just came out of a 12-year marriage. After running the math on what relationships actually cost , emotionally, financially, and daily effort , I’ve concluded it would genuinely be cheaper to fly in a different escort once a month than to jump straight into another committed relationship.

Crazy thing is , she makes more, always has. I know if we go the lawyer route I’ll come out of this way better then she will. She has retirement, savings accounts and investments, I have debt. I honestly don’t want to hurt her like that and have even told her all I wanted was 50/50 and half the equity in our house. ( I cash out my retirement for the down and have paid my share) That’s when she said she wanted a lawyer. But that offer is going away as soon as I pay the retainer on my attorney.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
