Yeah, I was wondering the same. How is he even getting support. How does he still have fans. And if a woman would have done it, there would have been a fierce backlash

Naming accurately and objectively the things they do is an insult This is so true. It was even in the Lundy Bancroft podcast. It irks me so much when the supposed logical gender can't follow the most basic of logic

Home is where you can be yourself. It's where you charge, where you heal, where you dream, where you are you. Doesn't really mean a man has to be there, or a family is to be there; can be only you or maybe your friends, or your pets. So I would still argue home is worth more, because it's ultimately your life's comfort abode where you can relax snuggled up with your comfort food. If it happens that your workplace is your home (not by coercion or necessity), than that's okay too.

This is perfect. In my case I've rarely had anyone tell me they are happy in their marriage, so when they ask I just give them a are-you-stockholmed/masochist look and say "didn't you just tell me yesterday you feel like dying due to your marriage?" (Then watch them fall over themselves trying to justify their marriage (to themselves mostly) "oh that happens with everyone, it's part of life bla bla")

Just dropping by to say, it's never "overstepping" looking at your life partner's phone. You're supposed to be together through thick and thin, and I don't understand how someone can keep phones as secret in such a relationship.

And here my bf takes secret photos of stuff that I may need (like hygiene wipes and wash, liners and pads) when out with friends and messages it to me if I need anything, and to check if my stock is running low. Or to just ask me if I want to try this new brand or product :D And he does it secretly around his friends only so as not to make me uncomfortable since I'm a very secretive/reserved person.

Hmm...not sure I agree with this one. Also, it's a cultural thing too. And I've seen some amazing people focus on financial stability in the first decade after getting a job, so they focus more on themselves and less on relationships (both genders). Edit: I just meant that I disagree with this being generalized as a red flag.

Lol, I always watched How I met your mother and Friends and Big Bang Theory (initial seasons, they improved later on), and thought "how can people ever like this?? It's disrespectful and demeaning and rude and downright shitty at times". Not to say I didn't skip those parts and try to enjoy the rest of the show. But even 10 years back (or whenever they released), I still found it yucky and annoying and I always told that to my friends (who always went 'but that's how the world is' or 'that's jus…

I've always been lucky to do a lot of the home repairs and installments by myself most of my life since childhood, and I know how much of a difference it makes in your day to day life (when you can fix your own power extension if it breaks during work, or balance precariously on furniture while repairing your lights and fans when immediate help is not available). I'm so glad to see you getting into these too! Way to go <3

by saying I'm going to stay single acting like this I just reply with "And?....." with no expressions on my face. And just continue with "And/So...?" a couple of times more if they try to justify it. Then they trip idiotically over themselves unable to justify anything. Do you want to live the rest of your life wondering when your fiance is going to toe the line and not tell you because he is the best husband in the world? True, it's just that I tend to lose rings a lot, especially embellished ones. Simple ones tend to stick on my finger more since I don't fidget much with them. So I was inclined towards a simple one, but I got upgraded now anyway :D

That's so kind of you, your reply made my day ❤️ And I understand, so many guys see beauty products and make-up as something shallow and deserving mockery. And at the same time they want ladies to look beautiful so they can continue to be into them. They just don't want to invest in them (be it emotional support, moral support or financial). Exactly, What the heck kind of video was that? All it did was justify that men look for maids/submissives to boost their ego, and I'm sure that's not what he was trying to portray. Talk about low gray matter in brain, he must really be struggling in life. Oh wait, there are similar low gray matter people following him. When a guy says 50-50, he's viewing the marriage as a BUSINESS transaction. And he'll definitely try to gain the profit, that's what business is about. You want to marry for business? Do it by all means but then be ready to play hard for your profit. If you view this marriage as life long partner journey (which is what real marriage should be), then you're in for a rude awakening. Why not stay single till you find a LIFE partner and a relationship based on love, instead of settling for a busines…

Glad it was of help :) And it depends...when my bf said it to me (not out of ill intentions), I just sent this ss, he apologized and never said it again. If my parents say it, same with ss. If doctors (which they do a lot), I try in a joking way to tell them that's rude and also that's not a diagnosis. Usually they feel embarrassed and change track. But like someone else said in another reply, just turning around and walking off is also effective, specially if you feel this is being deliberately…

I would add to this a bit. Since killing games are all around us, I find it hard to use that as a base guide. I'm a casual gamer, and I've noticed one particular trend that's more telling. I want to focus on the games that are misogynistic. Like GTA-V (the YouTube video series tropes vs women in video games, has a good list of such games). If the ones playing these games don't find it disgusting how the creators of the game have treated the women (in-game, I know), then chances are that the guy …

Patriarchy is in the very roots of the world. The entitlement is deeply etched into their souls. Any slighting of their entitlement grates like thousand lashes on their ego, which is so ridiculously fragile, they end up directing the self humiliation and hatred onto the easily available targets. The weak. The minority. The children. The women. They have no humanity. Only ego. They have no compassion. Only entitlement. They have no conscience. Only depravity.

What happens when that beautiful, clean, calm, sacred environment is ruffled by some 'protectors' verbal abuse, anger issues, psychological manipulation, smashing tantrums, and dilly dallying cheating around? Do we feel safe loved and protected then? Is the home still sacred?

Nopes, no dramatization. And yes, dowry is rampant (although girls are waking up and refusing it a lot nowadays in metro cities, if my sources are correct) and more so in villages (so like 70%+ of the country I think). And dowry harassment is also a thing (you only paid 1000$, now we want a car also, plus some gold too...oh you can't afford it? *bam bam bam*) (the *bam bam bam* can be verbal abuse, physical or even gunshots). Girls end up marrying because their parents & society throw them out…

Hey whoever-happens-to-read-this-comment, I had a question, I went through the handbook, but I didn't get an accurate answer to a question I had. I realized a post of mine was locked today. I'm wondering does that mean I accidentally violated a rule, or the post was getting hard to moderate because lurkers were spamming or something, or perhaps a completely different reason that is on a need-to-know basis. Appreciate it if anyone can answer this

Honestly....it's so refreshing not having to debate over everything. So many times the debates are so illogical, it's like challenging why someone likes apples over oranges, how could they be cruel to the oranges, aren't apples famous as is thanks to 'an apple a day keeps the doc away'. And of course, the support is so comforting.

Just watch any Pakistani or Indian drama/tv series. The daughters-in-law and mothers-in-law will be standing at the beck and call of the male members near the dining table while the male eats (they don't help in cooking, carrying the dishes, serving, putting the plates back in the kitchen, cleaning, ensuring their wives eat, kids eat, etc., etc.). And if your head covering falls a bit while serving, you're reprimanded, if you don't anticipate filling the glass or giving more rice, you're loudl…

Yes! Take multiple opinions!! I've seen doctors belittle and scoff when I tell my problems to them, and they say 'some walking as we did in our age and less computer/mobile will fix all these 'symptoms' of yours'. I couldn't afford multiple diagnoses back then, so I lived with it all for far too long. But fortunately, I could recently, and then started the proper medication.

I can relate, that's the worst! You give your every inch each moment of the day, just so that you can see the next day, and then people come with their advice 'You need more will power' 'you are soft' 'did you try sleeping at 10' 'eat more vegs and fruits' and any illogical sentence. I just want to swap my condition with them for even a minute, so they can then tell themselves 'oh maybe positive thinking will fix all this' and then watch the results with grim satisfaction.

And because medicine so far has been created using men as their center of research until just a decade or so back. This means women medical care is extremely lacking and based on a lot of luck that 'this works on men, should work on women too'

This always reminds me of the study that men tend to overreact even when they have a mild cold, whereas women always downplay even severe fevers and continue their work and responsibilities. And this is actually proved by research. Funny how science and logic are only valid when it's used against most of us.

This is so common in some Asian countries!! The ladies Cook, serve the men in household warm meal (the men want the bread just off the stove, not even a minute old), stand nearby the table with bowed heads while ensuring the men have glasses n plates full. Meanwhile, the men judge and berate any tiny flaw. The women then clean up everything and sometime after get to eat leftovers. I HATE it.
