Oh no what does blogilates say about that?! I watch her workout videos on YouTube, I didn't know she ever talked about relationships. I do have a vague idea that her husband works for her company

LMAO!!! The best part was at the beginning when he mentioned how he gained a son and from the way he said it I thought "ah, he meant he finally has his boy that he always wanted after being 'stuck' with girls". Then he literally went on to confirm it! He "could not care less" about having a boy--yeah right. His daughters saw right through him What a trashy, mundane man. Cheating with the secretary is so cliche

So he wanted her to stick to a diet plan bc now he thinks he's all "hot", but really it was just an excuse to bodyshame her and try to get her to be the bad guy and leave him? I literally know a girl who had a similar scenario happen to her. She was with this guy for TWO YEARS when he suddenly started telling her she was fat blah blah blah. She ended up quitting her job to WORK AT A GYM and developed an eating disorder. Guess what? He was cheating on her with her apartment roommate!!! Here's som…

If he makes you think everything is your fault I've observed this phenomenon over and over again with women who end up in abusive relationships. They reach a point where they can no longer see that anything is wrong with HIM, because the guy convinces them that THEY are the ones with the issue. Sadly had to get one of my relatives out of a situation like this (luckily she's okay now). She was convinced it was all her fault that he was acting terribly--it took an outsider perspective to break h…

I went and scrolled through the comments on the original post and feel fueled by righteous fury on her behalf NEVER let someone treat you the way this guy or any of the stupid commenters on that post are acting. They act like she's some money-whore for wanting something It's OKAY to want things. You should want things! We are not buddhist monks who give up their worldly possessions for spiritual reasons Also: redditors always insist the ring is "no big deal!" but clearly it IS a big deal or he w…

I can't believe I actually read this entire thing. GIRL!!! First off, you are TOO GOOD for any of that absolute BULLSHIT you experienced. Secondly, I'm just going to offer some random stream of consciousness feedback because there is just so much to be commented on in this tale Never tell a guy your past sexual history. Don't tell a guy how many partners you've had or ANYTHING. The most I would maybe say is, "I've had a little experience but nothing major" or some version of that. The only other…

POTENTIALLY cheating?! Honey he ain't cheating, he's a paedophile Don't confront this monster! She should file a police report and hire a lawyer and file for divorce. Before that, she needs a bug-out bag or something and a safe place to stay. Obviously she needs to get away from him ASAP and you don't want to confront a man who may up his crazy even more and hurt you

Yes it's important to get what you want! Once again, reminder that grown diamonds and mined diamonds are both REAL! They are made of the exact same compounds. I noticed you said lab vs. "real" (mined) diamonds, and I just wanted to clear that up for anyone else reading--BOTH are real
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/01/22 01:05 AM

Now I'm all for women getting whatever is most special to them. Also I never want to side with a guy lol But grown diamonds are 100% REAL diamonds (regardless of what some people have commented). They are made of carbon just like earth-mined diamonds. Also, $20,000 for a ring is GENEROUS so I don't think he is being stingy. As far as resale value goes, in general diamonds are just not worth a lot (despite popular belief) and their price fluctuates wildly. If you want something with high resale v…

I would never accept a proposal without any ring at all! That's crazy. And also, surprise proposals on Christmas can be reaaaally awkward (exhibit A - my aunt's ex boyfriend who got down on one knee in front of the entire family and she pretended to accept and then later rejected him in private, as to not ruin Christmas). However, I am really curious about proper engagement ring etiquette. Should a guy pick out the ring completely on his own? Should it be 100% a surprise? Or is it okay to go rin…

You know, I read a book awhile back called "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" by Robert Cialdini. He mentioned we are biased to associate people who talk about positive things (like a sports team winning a game) as also being more positive people, and vise versa In FDS's case it's totally true. They think that because we point out injustice against women, we're somehow bad? It's total nonsense

How long have you been seeing this guy? Are you official? If I'm officially dating someone and they give me a gift, I would get them a card. Do you live in the city or somewhere less populated? Tbh a video call/uber eats date isn't my cup of tea. If you live somewhere you can safely social distance and the weather isn't terrible, you could try a picnic date (but not a low-effort one. Similar but slightly different: I had a guy (we'll call him X) who pursued me that idolized Jordan Belfort, the man Wolf of Wall Street is based on. He's X's life aspiration and the reason X went into finance. I've never seen the movie but I was familiar with the general premise and thought he was joking. Why would you want to idolize a promiscuous drug addict who swindled people out of money? Needless to say X threw a temper tantrum and talked about how drugs are his life?! It was nuts. And som…

OH I SAW THIS ONE! She was rightfully annoyed that he (probably purposely) spelled her name wrong and clapped back accordingly. I mean come on, the name is in the profile! Great question! Here are some of my thoughts, if anyone else has any tips feel free to chime in: Look at how he treats all of the relationships in his life. Is he good to his mother? If his family isn't in the picture, why? How is he with his friends? What are his political views? Does he donate to charity? How does he treat animals? See if you can find out about his past relationships. How does he talk about ex's? Even better if you can find out their names and do some digital sleuthing. Typica…

I understand the people saying they want to see who a man really is by moving in with him in the comments or that it isn't financially practical to live alone, but the downsides of moving in before marriage are FAR greater. If it's financially impractical to live on your own, get other roommates who are women. Also, the secret to who a man is isn't hiding in his apartment--you should be able to figure him out without needing to live at his place. When the relationship goes south, you will be SCR…

I am not a widow but I have a positive widowed story from a friend of mine She's married to a man who was previously widowed and she's almost blissfully happy. They've been together for quite a few years now, maybe a decade? His first wife suffered from a rare illness and slowly wasted away while he took care of her the entire time. After she died, he waited a year or two before he began dating again and that's how they connected. They have pictures of the dead wife displayed in their house and …

Omg the lingerie = "empowerment" argument KILLS ME. That's literally just a marketing tactic to get women to buy it that is now regurgitated by normal people. Like hello, unless my bra is gonna give me superpowers or something that's not how clothes work
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/21 04:48 AM

Uh...if I was your brother's friend I would feel deeply disturbed by that but pretend everything was normal until he left and then throw it away and avoid him for all of eternity. Would you buy one of your friends a sex toy? I'm gonna assume no. Unless you're in a sexual relationship with someone (even then that's dicey) that's super duper weird :-|

I totally agree with you. You see it all over social media, people who brag just a little too much but in actuality seem really fragile. However I do think you can not hate yourself and be hateful to others. That's the type of cruelty I don't understand--the one where they dig the knife in a little bit deeper seemingly just because they can. Would you consider that a spectrum of narcissism or some other personality disorder, or is it just run of the mill misogyny or something else?

It sounds like your addiction stems more from your self-hatred than anything. You don't feel good about yourself most of the time so your body looks for anything to make it feel better . Exactly. She shouldn't have had to be back immediately after her high risk pregnancy though. I think she clearly wanted more time off, but couldn't take it because of the threat to her job. Emma seems like a trust fund baby who inherited her family's money and biz. Which is fine, but she went on about how she was all a "boss babe" and powerful and they shot her in slow motion. When actually confronted, she couldn't hold her own

LMAO this article was so right. I have to say I have mixed feelings about Romain. I initially strongly disliked him, but I think some of his anger at Davina was justified. Davina definitely has crossed a few lines However, my biggest shock is at how they've all had the audacity to treat Christine. I really feel like they took advantage of her pregnancy to be as terrible people as possible. Yes, Christine is not some innocent victim. This is an underrated comment. You just summed up what I have subconsciously thought throughout my dating life and watching my other friends get married. It makes me feel the ICK when women I know say "Well, at least he doesn't beat me" or that he has a good job so they tolerate his reprehensible behavior (when they themselves have good jobs?! It's like the cultural narrative is so strong they don't know that they can just...leave)

I think you've made some compelling points, however, I wouldn't glorify the Boomer generations values and culture. My grandmother, a boomer, wasn't allowed to wear pants to work. When she became pregnant they fired her because seeing a pregnant woman's stomach was considered "indecent". Also, there simply wasn't the same access to porn and some of the negative addictions we have today because technology wasn't as advanced. Boomers didn't have phones and computers that could bring up any type of …

Hmm this is interesting. I see texting someone first as making the first move, at least for my generation. If a man is really interested in you he will be in contact. Also I'd like to advocate for a little more discretion. Why does he need to know who else you're seeing, or if you're seeing anyone else besides him? I think that's your own private business. And I would not pay for anything, ever, on a date. You do not need to be grabbing the popcorn on a 3rd date. That seems rather not FDS and go…

Becoming a woman is a hell of a time, ain't it? I really never thought about the fact that I was a "woman" at all until I got older. It's sombering experiencing misogyny from the men closest to you, realizing your dad isn't so good to your mom, realizing your grandma suffered too, learning that almost all of your friends have been raped. It's also difficult to stomach that men KNOW. They KNOW. And I've realized I have to be a lot harder, a lot colder, and way more on my toes at all times. We do …

I'm so happy for her! But SO MAD from a legal standpoint. Britney and her lawyer were fighting for her rights to be restored but for the conservatorship to still be legally in place. Why? Because if the conservatorship was still in place, her lawyer would have a lot more power to subpoena and go after those monsters. Since they dissolved it, her lawyer has way less ability to properly try to take down all the evil people involved in this. They didn't free her, they are trying to run away from ge…

This hits so hard for me. I'm currently severely anemic and my hair has been falling out in droves (I'm actually on FemaleHairLoss too that's a great sub). The FIRST thing I was worried about is my job prospects! If you're a woman you just don't get to be balding without facing a TON of backlash. Meanwhile bald men can be-bop around. I do worry that nothing will happen even if it's reported, but at least it would be something. Unfortunately I think there are zero girls on her side. I initially thought maybe there was truly some misunderstanding and that thing…

These are great ideas, thank you! I'm taking her out for lunch today to talk more in detail about everything and what I can do to help so I'll bring some of this up

X and I are friends and I kind of know her friends, but only through her. I've hung out with them some due to her but they aren't my group and I don't run in their circles. Most of the girls won't listen to me because we're not close enough. I actually did clarify the situation with one of the girls in the group who I truly don't think knew what was going on because she only recently moved back in town. About her rooming situation, yes she has a good deal right now and money is tight for her bec…

I wear red lipstick all the time. This inadvertently weeds out sexist guys who tell me things like "Did you know whores used to wear red lipstick? I think you're too respectable to be wearing that." "You're so beautiful, why do you wear so much makeup?" I've gotten these comments SO often it's actually baffling. Meanwhile guys who aren't super sexist don't even notice
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/10/21 06:20 PM

SO TRUE. When my friend broke up with her cheating ex, she felt so ashamed and embarrassed that they had ever been together. But we knew she was too good for him the entire time they dated, and were just happy and relieved to see her break free!

Damn. That is terrible. I feel so, so sorry for Gabby. Yes they most likely will use sex as a defense. However, there's been so much public outrage that if they do manage to catch him I don't think any defense will save him (however crazier things have happened, but hoping in this case she'll get the justice she deserves)

I notice this over and over again that women will list all their titles in relation to other people, but never actually say anything about themselves Example: Wife 💍 Mother of two beautiful boys 👶👶 | Ephesians 5:22-33

That's totally understandable. It sounds like money used to obtain financial security would be more meaningful to you than anything else, in which case that would be a great engagement gift
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/10/21 06:53 PM

That's so sad! Is he your ex now? That would've been such a cool opportunity to make something meaningful. That's the type of thing you pass down to your kids with a great story behind it

🤔 I'd be curious to know how those statistics work in relation to what a couple can afford. Maybe divorce is more likely for couples that are spending outside of their means, and this causes financial problems down the line? Or do you mean like an actual larger sized stone = more likely to divorce?

I'm so curious about Tiffany settings! They patented their 6 prong setting years ago and supposedly the design gives max impact to the stone and makes it really sparkle. Do you feel like your Tiffany ring does sparkle a lot more than others?

Lmao a tattoo proposal sounds great! As long as it's for a nice piece you've been wanting and not a cringey couple piece I think that's cool. My ex-uncle-in-law had my aunt's name tattooed on him 😬 it was a nice tattoo but I bet he regretted it when things ended and he had to have it covered up

Glad for the info! I thought emerald was higher on the scale than it was. I had no idea alexandrite was so high; it's not a stone I see often

You did an excellent job using his own way of thinking on him, props to you. It's good he's your ex. Also, who wants to propose with a ring from a failed marriage? Not superstitious but that just sounds like a bad idea

Well said!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/10/21 05:48 PM

Oof that's horrible! It seems like a lot more effort to emotionally torture someone with an engagement that you purposely tried to make bad so they'll end things with you, than to just...step up and end it yourself. I like you're take on it
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/10/21 05:48 PM

You're right it's definitely difficult to put a set dollar amount on the ring price. A lot of that due to the fact that similar rings can cost wildly different amounts depending on where they come from, is it customized, etc. If it feels like a commitment or if it feels like a throwaway is a good way to think about it. An oak leaf sounds beautiful!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/10/21 05:44 PM

I love that you bought yourself a nice ring! I've actually considered buying myself something as well for my birthday--how did you find one you liked that didn't look too engagement-y?

Hello cool butch lesbian :P! So you would talk to your fiancee about what she wants beforehand? Would you want general guidelines of what she wants or would you rather she picked it out herself and then you surprised her with it? Why do you think you'll be the one to propose? Actually, how do you decide who proposes in a wlw relationship?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/10/21 05:39 PM

You explained this really well, thank you. Why do you think a ring shouldn't be on a payment plan?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/10/21 05:37 PM

I like your take! I personally think I'd want to choose mine, just because I am particular about what I wear. But you've made me think about the significance of seeing what your partner does with some info but a lot of autonomy. Maybe I'll have to rethink my opinion about it

OH MY GOODNESS thank you for saying this!!! I was asked to "hang out" by a childhood friend who I hadn't seen in awhile. I said yes and ended up having a cringe-worthy evening where he thought it was okay to make a pass at me. I didn't realize that "hanging out" is now used as some cop out way to pseudo-ask someone out

I know it's written by a woman but it feels like a man's fantasy. Another beautiful, successful career woman falls for the inappropriate antics of a man much older than her. Derek Shepherd is called "McDreamy"????? More like McCreepy. I don't know why the entire hospital acts like he's super cute; he's just some dude.

In my early 20s, I've read the comments and there's a lot of great points brought up. I'm going to take it in a slightly different direction. Firstly, it's all situational and really depends on the type of content they're posting (for both guys and girls). For example, is he trying to grow a business/personal brand/become an influencer? I don't immediately write that off as a bad thing to do. Many people in my friend group are young actors who really have to push for their presence to be seen. I…

Wow, both of you have made some really great points. I definitely agree u/LonelyWineAunt that regardless of race or gender, being poor is HARD. What I don't understand is the white men who are NOT poor or disadvantaged feeling victimized. And even for those who are poor white guys, I don't understand the level of vitriol they feel for those who are doing "better" than them that are minorities. Even in my darkest hours, I've never wished for other people to suffer. So I relate to u/shinyjewels in…
