Hey everyone! Valentine’s Day is around the corner and dating is still a little tricky not only because of the immense amount of LVM/NVM, but because of omicron.

This holiday is a great way to vet how much you mean to a (potential) partner. Some of us may be able to go out for dates, some of us may not be comfortable yet since we don’t want to risk getting covid. How would you proceed with someone you’re dating during this covid spike and what are some examples of positive indicators/actions from them?

• Should they be finding safe date options or activities take you out on (if possible)? What kind of thoughtful gifts? Should we be getting them anything basic (like a card?)

• Should they be asking you in advance what you’d like to do for the holiday? (Even tho we shouldn’t be indirectly planning things by giving too much info.)

• Video call dates initiated by them, and they UberEats you food?

I’m not sure of what kinds of gestures a man should be making on this holiday as it is the first time I’m going slow with dating someone around this time of the year. He also works in healthcare (as mentioned in my previous posts).

We all know not to initiate anything because the point is to see how much effort is put in by the other person. Just looking for more examples of green flags from you ladies for this upcoming holiday.

Edit: He works in a hospital, and we both live in a major U.S city. We’ve been dating for 1.5 months now (not official), and have gone on one date so far before omicron hit. He brought it up and chose a place based on a food I mentioned I liked. He wanted to take me on a second date and presented several fun activities but it didn’t workout eventually because he said it would be best to stay home more and not risk getting sick. We FaceTimed a few days ago and he always asks my preference into getting to know each other more—to which I said face-to-face, but since that’s not possible FaceTime works but I won’t be able to do that often because of family. He seems to be understanding.
