The Mission Statement of this sub explains in detail what we have in common with feminism and what we don't like about it. Also it explains how we differ from Andrew Tate fans. https://www.reddit.com/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates/wiki/missionstatement/

but why "the opposite gender in particular"? Because the kid must understand that it should apply both ways. It's easier to realize how it works on your side, and it may be harder to understand how exactly it should be applied on the opposite side of the coin.

all human beings have both an inviolate right not to be assaulted (sexually or otherwise, or stalked or manipulated for that matter) and a responsibility to not do it unto others. Under penalty of law, that is. Yes, I like this approach: first we attract the kid to the ideas of consent and gender equality by telling them how it will benefit them, then we tell them how it should apply to others in general and the opposite gender in particular.

There was a similar post in this sub three months ago. This reply probably explains what is wrong with this study: https://www.reddit.com/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates/comments/1dvl5h7/comment/lbudq5b/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button Also, I don't think that explicit hatred for men is too widespread in feminism. What I find problematic about feminism is not its outright hatred for men (which really does not happen that often) but rather denying…

r/malementalhealth seems good. Also, I've recently subscribed to these two subs, but I need some time to read them and make sure they are really positive and non-toxic (seems like they are): r/masculinity_rocks r/mensupportmen

If you are researching this topic, here are a few links that you may find useful: 1) Gender Differences in Police-reported Violent Crime in Canada, 2008: https://publications.gc.ca/site/eng/9.567283/publication.html According to the report, overall rates of police-reported violent victimization were comparable between men and women, but the nature of their victimization differed (women more often were victims of sexual assaults and criminal harassment while men more often were killed, seriously …

I'm shocked, honestly. Some people seem so confident that women become victims of violence more often than men (even FAR more often) that someone who presents statistical proof of the opposite is seen by them as a bad, dishonest person. It would be funny if it were not so tragic.

As to the man vs bear argument, it seems very stupid to me to believe that dehumanizing men by telling them they are worse than wild animals will decrease violence against women. How do they expect it to decrease violence against women? Do they expect rapists to say something like hmmm maybe I should rape less if women say they don't like it? No single rapist will be stopped by thus man vs bear argument. But it will definitely scare off many young men making them turn to conservatism as an alter…

"Claims of the sort, ‘men do x’, are ultimately gender and/or biological essentialist claims." Are they? I think when feminists / misandrists say such things, they usually don't mean biological essentialism — on the contrary, they often stress it that, in their opinion, men do bad things because of gender roles, not because biology. Generalizations are a bad thing, but in case of misandry they are most often not essentialist.

I'm a man from Ukraine and I agree that gender-based draft is unfair, but I find this part of the sentence disgusting and unacceptable: "while the women flee and fuck foreigners for residency in other countries" It is humiliating to Ukrainian women and men and the Ukrainian nation. Ukrainian women abroad don't "fuck foreigners for residency". They work, raise children, volunteer and donate to the Ukrainian army. Even if there are cases when some of them did what you mentioned, it's an unfair gen…

I tend to agree that feminism is a hate group, but your post is rather sexist. It's not true that it's women who predominantly uphold "patriarchal" norms. Both genders do it. Both genders are the victims of it. Blaming women is not something that can help. Blaming women contributes to the bad reputation of MRM. If we want to be taken seriously, we should be intolerant of misogynistic rhetoric. We don't want to have a reputation of a sexist, anti-women community. It's OK to criticize feminism, bu…

I didn't say it hadn't happened to women. You said you had seen something worse than that video being done towards women, and I asked you to show an example. The example you showed was not convincing. Now you show another example, and that is really worse than the video, I agree. Thank you.

The word "destruction" sets a high requirement for such stories. A man who is suicidal because of bullying from his feminist fellow students — does it count as destruction? We hope he didn't kill himself, though he definitely received harm. So I don't know if all the following examples can be counted as "destruction", but I think they can be counted as "harm": A 14-year-old teenager says feminists make him want to die An ex-feminist man explains how feminist shaming made him feel guilty for his …

it's important to give equal attention to all Not equal attention, but the attention each group needs. Men as a group definitely need more attention than they get.

I am also grateful to this sub where I see many like-minded people, who advocate true equality. My views are very close to yours. and plus just like women's rights, too one-sided a term; equality should mean taking into account everyone's rights Agree. I would like to join a movement that takes into account the interests of both genders (and doesn't forget about non-binary people). It's impossible to achieve gender equality without taking into consideration the problems of one of the genders, be…

I answered each of your questions directly, and you ignored each of mine. I understand you just fine. I ignored your detailed replies because they look like you don't understand me at all and you had replied to the claims I didn't express. Ok, but you get how perception =/= reality right? No. In this case, I think this contradiction is quite real. The comments and upvotes show that I am not the only one feeling like this. You perceive them as contradictory but you also refuse to acknowledge the …

Either you didn't understand the main point of what I had said, or I had failed to express it clearly. My intention was to explain how I, as a naturally non-dominant, unaggressive, quiet and not very masculine man, perceive these demands. I perceive them as extremely contradictory. I am not capable of dominating in any area, but they expect me to dominate in some areas (otherwise I will not be attractive to most of them), while at the same time blaming me for dominating in other areas (because I…

My response is that it is not constructive to blame innocent men for what other men did. Anyone who is truly interested in solving problems and fighting inequality should take men's problems into account.

All I get from the current zeitgeist is negativity, humiliation and repression towards what I am. This gives me an almost physical sense of dread. This description is close to how I feel about it. Thank you for the formulation. And the worst part of it is that I cannot express it, because I'm a non-confrontational person, and talking about these topics is guaranteed to attract hate and controversy towards you. I can be confrontational (which doesn't mean aggressive), so I express it and attract …

Thank you for your long reply. I find it helpful. I can't say I agree with every detail in your answer, but it seems like the general idea of your message is something I vaguely felt but couldn't fully realize and formulate: probably, I concentrate too much on the radical side of feminism, while most feminist are not that radical and don't actually believe in these ideas, and if they do, they believe in their “softer” versions. The problem here is that I'm not sure that moderate feminists are th…

Thank you for your reply. I've had a similar experience with some of the things you've described. I've also been bullied by girls. I've been bullied by both boys and girls, and both experiences were traumatic. Bullying by boys involved physical violence, but when I was bullied by girls, it was kind of especially humiliating. I also have problems with mental health. I also get along better with women than with men. I wish you to find a girlfriend soon, get rid of your mental health issues, and ge…

Thank you very much for your reply. Support from a woman is especially important for me because sometimes I have the impression like most women think I'm their enemy, as most women support feminism. Sometimes I feel like that, though, on a rational level, I know this impression is not true because, despite the popularity of feminism, most women are not feminists (even in Denmark only 16% of people consider themselves feminists), and not all feminists are radical or toxic. But real words of suppo…

Thank you very much for your reply. I find it supportive, it makes me feel not so alone. I see society falling more and more for the kind of virtue-signalling feminism where adherents don't actually have to change any of their own actions It's one of the reasons I can't reject feminism or just stop thinking about it. I see how popular it is, how seriously it is taken even in academic circles, and sometimes I think there is probably something wrong with me if I have such a big problem with the id…

Thank you for your reply. It makes me feel less lonely. Recently I've been feeling like the whole world is against me. If it's not too personal and if you're OK with talking about this, could you say more about this disgust at your attraction to women? What exactly contributed to it? Seems like I have something similar.

Even if it is true, it's counterproductive. No single man alive is responsible for what other men did hundreds and thousands of years ago. Feminists should be interested in cooperation with men, not blaming them without sufficient reasons. Maybe, technically, this system was built by men, but it doesn't mean they had much choice. Even if they had any choice, modern men are not responsible for the choices of their ancestors.
