That’s a little hyperbolic. I think women admire the courage it takes to do that, if you are relatively attractive. Not needy either, someone has to be proactive. You are going to be waiting a while if you always wait for them.

Not if you work retail or a job with hundreds of employees. They might be vaguely aware of you.

My (female) friend said she heard a cute girl working at a store say I was cute. So I went over 20 min later, was playful. She asked if I needed a changing room number at the store and I said yes and your number and she said no, I have a boyfriend. Warm approach fail which surprised me. But i’ve done “cold” approaches with coworkers that barely know me before and had success. So who knows. I think “familiarity approaches” work. As long as she is aware of you somehow, and not you coming out of th…

This is how I grabbed my wife. And she told me “I don’t drink coffee” and I said “so get tea!” She’s a hottie too

I met my wife by saying “come get it a coffee with me” She said “I don’t drink coffee” I said “So get tea” Beats online dating. She’s hot too.

Eh i’m like a 5 out of 10 but get a nice haircut and lift weights to be jacked. It helps and my wife is like a 7.5 or an 8

I’m with you. She’s hot so I was truly surprised. I’m pretty average but in great shape. Still I saw a little pattern forming.

My wife’s friend that visits has asked to me twice in private recently if i’ve lost weight. Gave her a hug at a party and told my wife in private that i’m on a fitness journey.

Nope. Online leads are flaky as fuck and harder to get compared to irl. Less flaky and more real to the woman.
/r/seduction13/10/24 09:54 PM

Not true. Online options aren’t taken as seriously as in person. After all, if you are desperate enough to online date, you are perceived as lesser than a man out there approaching irl

Dude, all honesty, i’m in my mid-30’s but if I was to date again, it’s all in-person for me. I agree that the filtering happens when in real life it seldom matters

Guys, i’m 5’8.5 honestly. And I have dated women 4’10 to 5’9. It’s never mattered in 30+ examples. Sure there might have been one 5’5 girl who said height was a dealbreaker, but she wasn’t as cute as about 28 of them lol

I guess so. Just doing what I can to better myself. Lifting (though this has always been my main hobby, so no issues there), getting out and being social, STFU and staying busy at home. Doing more to lead. The start of a long process

What about when she says that she feels dismissed and you can’t even communicate because all I do is make jokes? I am constantly AAinh and amused mastery and she is recognizing this and is saying it is a relationship problem. To this I just said “I agree that communication between us could be better” and then said it was OK for her to be angry (Outcome independence) while smiling and keeping frame

Yeahhh i’ve basically always told her that public disrespect makes me lose interest in her and i’ll take my time elsewhere. Where I definitely went wrong was, it was too scolding-like.

It’s not so black and white. I do that sometimes but when she is clearly shit-testing me, aka poking to get a reaction or trying to get me to DEER…i “pass them” for the most part

I acknowledge that i’m not as great of a catch as I was when I first met her. But i’m also not in the same boat as many on here. For example: 5’9 179lbs, roughly 18% bf Good job Not a man child Ambitious (interviewing at multiple jobs right now and have a good gig already) Charismatic BUT my weaknesses are, i’ve let my social side slip a bit and i’m home too much, causing her to take me for granted. And, the effort of keeping it positive hasn’t been there as much with her, since i’m either blah …

/r/askMRP30/08/24 08:19 PM

No, dude. I’ve been burned because i’ve used the AA too much in the past. It was enabling disrespect. If the comments are disrespectful, the worst thing you can do is AA. If they are a shit test, with an air of flirtation and not mean-spirited, that’s different.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 08:09 PM
1

Totally agree. I think the short answer is, it would be attention removal. Nothing crazy, but she is very attuned to this.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 07:57 PM
1

Not to change the opinion, man! What I communicated to her was that the notion was crossing my boundary, not what was said. Why are the two being conflated here? It’s not like i’m saying “you called me a shit storyteller in front of her, now she’s going to think I suck!” It’s “you chose to criticize me in front of her, that is a boundary”
/r/askMRP30/08/24 07:38 PM
1

Why can’t my frame be, I have a wife, I care for her and won’t disrespect her in public, and I expect her to treat me the same because I have self worth?
/r/askMRP30/08/24 07:33 PM
1

Why does me taking issue about the notion of disrespectful comments in front of others keep getting conflated with “you said that in front of her and now she’s gonna think i’m bossy!” That’s not how it was stated at all. It was more “a boundary for me is saying something disrespectful in public” It’s the notion, and I make that clear every time. That’s a big difference. Maybe it is egotistical, but whatever, if we want to get philosophical, the ego serves a purpose too.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 07:23 PM

Other than your last paragraph, you are correct. And i’m actually more banter-y and playful with others. “Hey fuckhead” and my response is “Hey what’s going on shithead” But I have different expectations from my wife, who i’m banging. Likewise, I don’t insult her.

Dude, any redpill literature on the subject would call the line between disrespect and something to AA as being pretty muddy…but generally speaking, the flirtatious/playful intent or lack thereof seems to be the giveaway. To me, eye roll “he’s the worst at telling stories” or “nobody wants to work out with him” are disrespectful in context of other people being around. And if not addressed, would invite this happening continually.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 06:58 PM
1

Nope, she wanted those plans and is disappointed. Any time I try to take my child alone somewhere she is actually left wanting to come. And I wouldn’t call her criticizing me in a really (non-playful) way in front of someone “gently teasing.” It’s not about what was said, but the notion that she would do this in front of others at all. Public belittling or criticism. Her family is all about this amongst themselves…cutting remarks like “If dad made more we’d be good”. My family was more respectfu…

I understand this and i’m trying to assess the damage from this one situation. I know that what matters is my own purpose and self approval. But for the purposes of this debacle, it would seem that I haven’t come off as weakly as some are insinuating. I’m not inadvertently exposing my thought process here. I’m trying to determine the impact of my actions. Yes, it’s neurotic and likely won’t matter going forward. But many commenters here are making it like i handled the situation terribly.

She says that she is being “scolded” (just now) in a conversation. That doesn’t really feel like a subservient or “lesser than” position for me, in her eyes? At least. Do weak people scold? Nope, people in authority.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 06:09 PM
1

Can you address the question above?
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:50 PM
1

Dude, the reason for doing it was not only to preserve my ego. The reason would be to nip it in the bud to not be a passive pussy, or at least that was why i did it in the first place.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:43 PM
1

Is there not a difference between disrespect and a shit-test? I felt like comments in public are more #2 below rather than number 1. 1.) My insults cannot get to him” (so I will not do that anymore because I am wasing my energy) vs 2) “He lets me insult him” (what a pussy)
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:32 PM
1

Well, I understand dropping ego as a self-betterment thing. But I’m just baffled that many here are treating this as a failed shit-test rather than disrespect…maybe it is neither and i’m being too rigid.. I know you can’t demand respect through words, but you can set a boundary, communicate it, and then show through actions that it crossed…I honestly don’t think this was a shit test
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:20 PM
-5

Don’t make the assumption that i’m not lifting, DEERing etc right now. I am also grinding in that fashion. But why wouldn’t I set a boundary while I am making myself a better man, too?
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:18 PM
2

Maybe i’m obtuse here.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:15 PM

I feel as though option 1 would be the choice for the guys that “let it slide” would choose. And the guys who would withdraw attention would express that a boundary was crossed and do so. That is why you are confusing me. Making light of a public belittlement or criticism would only invite that behavior in the future.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:15 PM

I would respect the guy who does nothing in the moment and then privately addresses it with his wife right afterwards, basically. To let her know that it won’t happen again.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:11 PM

How am I doing nothing? Removing attention is the plan
/r/askMRP30/08/24 04:10 PM
-2

You think this was a shit test, when in front of others? I would treat it as such if it were just the two of us, but the simple fact that it was in front of others makes me lean it was said with a disregard for me or to make me look shitty because she’s too comfortable with me
/r/askMRP30/08/24 03:59 PM
6

Because I don’t like to be criticized or my abilities dismissed in public by my wife, whose motivation should generally be positive in front of others.
/r/askMRP30/08/24 03:57 PM

undermining me in front of someone and being dismissive etc. … Seems more like disrespect and not a shit test man.

It’s the idea of it, though. When I see a buddy’s wife do this to him, i think to myself “jesus, he lets her deride him in front of others, in a group like that?” Seems disrespectful.

It’s not “insecurity,” though. I feel these examples are disrespect.

It bothers me because it was belitting in front of someone. Like “he’s bad at telling stories” was what happened last time, and why I have talked to her about this once before.

So let me clarify something. I have a redpill background and beta backslid, but in a weird way. When I got married I knew i’d be in for an uphill battle with attraction, due to proximity etc. I was always interesting, fit, charming, had hobbies, friends, etc. And women that my wife knew, wanted me. So I figured in marriage i’d keep my boundaries with her, keep lifting, say “no” still, keep my friends, etc. What has happened in marriage and cohabitation, though, is that: I’m around too much (both…

Sorry, to clarify, I mean physically paying the bills, I usually pay like 65% of the costs. I am “cooped up at home” because my work no longer has an onsite location post-covid and and aside from working at my mom’s house in the next town over, I need to work from home. Coffee shop? Nope, I have to talk on camera.

She’ll be like “we only have a few minutes while the baby is asleep, give me a message” trying to be cute. Or “are you coming upstairs? i go in my man-cave for a few min “i thought you were going to come upstairs?”

1

I’ll tell you what, you are correct about keeping tension. I have 100% let the playfulness and teasing stop as life has set in. I’ve been incorporating it more in recent days. I had so much anger towards her that I just bottled up that I kinda just stfu and went about work and anything we did in blah mode.
/r/askMRP29/08/24 03:09 AM

I do. I might hang with a male friend once a week. About 4-5 of them. But I leave the house myself more often than hanging with male friends.

I think this is entirely accurate. I think she sees the stresses of making a decision based on some interviews i’m going on, and sees me weighing them out. But at the same time she sees me getting out there and going after it. I think she sees the difficulty of me going about the grind, but i am getting after it. Some of the fun and intrigue was lost along the way, as it takes more energy. But no more excuses.

Struggling with this a bit. There are times when in a conversation I can’t continue without some sort of DEER. I get pissed when making mistakes too. Today: Her: When is your interview? Me: Next Mon or Tues, don’t know yet, he hasn’t gotten back to me. He contacted me mid-friday afternoon, didn’t get back to him until today. Her: You work until 5 on Fridays. Some of these were in bad faith. For example, asking who I was texting, insinuating that I was hiding something, aka a girl, to test me to see if i’d act guilty or reassure her. Same with taking issue about when we were leaving the house or why we were leaving a venue. When it comes down to a half hour, who f’ing cares.

I think you are extrapolating what you are seeing here vs how I act around her. I’ve not been defensive, i’ve made a point to not explain shit to her when she asks why i’m doing something, i don’t make excuses for stuff. My behavior is anxious and wordy on here but I don’t come across that way in person. I’ve been quiet.

In what way was I defensive? In what way did I explain myself to her? In what way did I make excuses? Or rationalize? I am not coming home and saying “hey I hit the gym!” Or “hey i’m planning this trip for us, now i expect sex or get pouty when she doesn’t get horny. I also do not pressure her to get sex. I do that as well, but perhaps I am a bit too dismissive of her at times when it comes to her communicating complaints. That is her #1 grievance against me. When she says that I agree that communication could be better between us, but I just kinda treat her concerns as shit tests.
/r/askMRP28/05/24 06:36 PM

The worst I did on the DEER front was, one thing: she asked how long the items would remain in there (where she didn’t want them) and I told her the timeframe and brought up how, essentially, she keeps things in there for months as well…. It wasn’t emotional, just kind’ve matter of fact. Also, I would think most importantly, I didn’t cave and did what I wanted.

She is going to know that if she does it again, i’m calling them no matter what. When she comes back to me tonight and tries to talk, i’ll say it again but matter of fact. I was poking fun at her childish behavior.

Examples: Her: “You have more furniture in here than the rest of the house combined” Me: “Uncanny, isn’t it!!!?” Her: “I don’t like how you are treating me” Me: “You don’t have to like it” I also made it clear that I don’t answer to her, but not in a butthurt manner.

I don’t think this is accurate. She did use the phrase “did you cheat on me!???” Etc. and has always been this way, even before the baby. This isn’t the first time she has been worried about scratches. And what the hell does not getting married for 10 years have to do with anything? We were fine not getting married at all, actually, but just living our lives together faithfully, having children etc.

I cooled it with the dread after she legit ran up the stairs with the baby in hand and tried to lock the door. She wanted to hurt herself. To be honest, I wasn’t doing anything more than going out alone during the day a couple times and paying less attention to her vs the baby. So I calmed her down. Been just leading and attentive to the baby. Occasional kino with mom. Dressing nicer, been going out more, and passing shit tests too. She’s been sweeter to me and tongue kissed me a time or two. Couple of years of starfish sex and you just recently had a child? You're not running the show there despite what you may think. She gets turned on with a massage then we use a vibrator, but she must fake the orgasm with the vibrator to meet my expectations, which is a problem. Sex used to be amazing. I'm totally with you man. I'm familiar with RP etc. I used to post on PUA forums and attracted my wife a long time ago with these principles. I have been looking at the material for 16 years but I very much fall into the category of the husband whose wife makes semi-valid complaints, I call her ass out for them and say this isn't on HER timeline, etc. I pass many shit tests with agree and amplify, but have failed some with anger and arguing, so I will STFU.
