I won't say you are overreacting, because one has to acknowledge your feelings. From what you wrote, I see a lot of positives. She does all these things, yes she doesn't do them to your satisfaction, but she tries even after you complain. She apologizes, showers you with love, tries again and falls back. You said they are little things, dont make it into a big thing. I don't know her back ground, maybe before you, she never was good at laundry, or doing dishes. (If she does her clothes same way …

This is what I dread most having to stay because I cannot afford to move out.

Spot on. The "scumbag cheaters" both men and women can spot themselves a mile off. And they steer clear.

With the divorce rate being over 50% in places like US and just as high in many other countries. Infidelity being the number one cause. I think math's says this question is relevant.

"Its been a long time coming... connected emotionally with another women a few years back.. she recently found out" Not to sugar coat things, (going by only the info you said) seems you were the one that has the issues. While you were connecting with someone else emotionally, do you think she didn't notice. Maybe she was doing things to try to reconnect you both and you didn't put effort then, as you were "somewhere else" You should understand her behavior. Imagine all this while she thinking sh…

Thanks, I'm going to try that. I'm not that tech-savvy but I will learn. It's a shame that when one is at the lowest lawyer's take advantage. Thanks

I've been doing that, which has really helped.me as I've seen life without her stress in the picture. But also made it worse because after taking a few days away, coming back is depressing.

That would be best. Except she loves to play the victim and values more the "court of public opinion " She is more like do what you have to do , will refuse to discuss issues unless forced, as in court or otherwise.

I would gladly give her all at this point. Rent in NY (my area and not nyc) is ridiculous a room share (shared bath) are going for $1,500. She works part-time. Alimony, I dont have a clue. So i dont know if I'll be able to live separately. What do I do, stay and be miserable?

I thought it was just me. The only male post that are well received are ones where the guy says "I'm totally to blame, or I was the bad one" the responses don't even try to console with even "she had some responsibility too".. how does a guy post "I worked hard, two jobs, to support her (she didn't work), my kid and her kid from another relationship, live in mom, was to focused on providing and did not show her enough affection and help around the house.. now realize that drove her into another …

Appreciate your response especially about the "gift" part. Did not know. Only have one kid that's 16, other is over 21. But question on custody, physically most probably stay with her. 50/50 means we both have a say in making decisions. Am I correct?. Doest affect CS payments?

I've heard of people doing this, refinance and get a chunk of cash, stop paying the mortgage etc and drag the process.. eventually leave with a pocket full of cash, from refinancing and not paying mortgage for a year plus. Do the maths.

You got married "after 3 months on a whim qbecause she was so beautiful" You both make good money but she contributes nothing towards the bills.. That you lasted 5 years says something good about you. That being said please LEARN the lesson about how/what you use to make your choices.. for yourself and for your son. Wish you the best outcome.

I read the posts and shook my head, when did men lose their balls, when did men stop bring men. You are the man, the provider. Sounds like she is going to be a stay at home wife! So she moves to where YOU can best provide. Yes you like work, and mist probably you can be a better husband, father when you happy. You move back home, to a less fulfilling job, your mind will ALWAYS be on "what if". WHY can't she even come and see how the new place is. If you move back I'd bet with 90% certainty in a …

To the person that's quick to call "cheater" on OP. Question to you. He said it's been a dead bedroom for 8yrs before he stepped out. My question is what would you have done. Your answer might be more helpful than calling names WITHOUT proffering any advice.

Thanks for all the advice. We actually have no assets to fight about, no savings, etc. Even my 401k is negligible. The 20yr old will be 21 come January so only the 15yr old to worry about custody. Any recommendations as to mediators

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
