Marrying in current year is dumb regardless, but that's just adding insult to injury
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 11:59 PM

Why does she need an expensive ring Why does she need a marriage Fuck this patriarchal bullshit right?! He's with her as long as he goddamn well pleases and not one second more. No hooker-beggar bribe after, or before
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 11:56 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 11:33 PM

The suckers who buy an expensive ring while she be like "I'm a strong independent woman I don't want your last name"🤣it is exhausting being so much better than people
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 11:33 PM

What do you mean
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 10:40 PM

Then it should be very easy to explain, yet here we are two comments in and you resort to your typical attacks like a spoiled child, zero explanation.

In a country where this is considered alpha, What about countries in Africa where the men are masculine. What explains their oppression of women

How so
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 06:08 AM

Every woman knows that subconsciously. Why is it that for so many women this subconscious understanding is expressed as "men having standards is ObJeCtIfiCaTiOn and MisOgYnY" It's not like there's some nobility at work here the reason that "only attractive women are worth a damn" is true only of women and not of men is because men can trade other benefits for sexual access...hookers and Johns. Everyone is acting from a place of self interest. There's no nobility here
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 06:07 AM

Is there a corresponding chart showing confidence in paying mortgage?

They appear not to be in the welfare strata. There are like multiple gradients of society lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 05:48 AM

In a comfortable first world democracy, kid will live to adulthood. All this extraneous stuff that is purportedly about the kid is actually just class-based navel gazing and image making. 🤮
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/22 05:45 AM

Lol so you're just going to keep changing sources until one proves that what you want to be the case is already be the case 🤣 One of many problems of using mortgage status as proxy for income is there are a lot of people with high paying jobs in cities who rent, and a lot of people in the boonies with lower paying jobs who own

Given that we know children in single parent households have all sorts of long term problems like increased criminality, the way women cheat is truly better for society. Whereas the cuckold arrangement is one dna test away from nuclear destabilization. Either way kids live to adulthood in comfortable western democracies.

/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 11:25 PM

Of course I get it lol. This is what rad fems have been saying from day one. The truth is always at the extremes as most people can't digest it properly in order to continue with their mediocre lives. Most men don’t get it themselves they just follow the leader. And those that do get it act like a five year old with chocolate on their faces swearing he didn’t eat the cookies. Yet incentives are pretty straightforward Learn the difference between womansplaining and laughing 😂 It's the same thing,…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 11:23 PM
1

Ok but how is this in any way contradictory
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 11:22 PM
1

Yeah but others are being exploited and then are confused what happened. It is quite prevalent. You're seeing the primal screams in protest. I see them every day. It's a disgrace. A human rights violation what women have wrought upon men as a whole, all on the concept of plausible deniability. The sands are shifting. Enjoy while it lasts
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 11:22 PM

Not sure if it would be the same, though, as hiding the true depth/extremity of your opinions essentially makes them fake. Sadly that's what this effeminative exploitative society is based on

/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 05:38 PM

Conversely, thinking there's women who reliably haven't done so is naivete. First step is accepting the likelihood she's done something with someone she won't do with you, and then making decisions accordingly.

To secure a woman in your own league as a man requires commitment and resources - no exceptions. That's like saying a hooker or a sugar baby is in a man's league. Only so long as the resources are being provided.

/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 12:33 AM

It's not a cause of anything but merely a symptom. The tail end of the no fault era transformed the courts into daily suborners of perjury. People who wanted a divorce would make up fault conditions in order to get out of their marriages, sometimes conspiring jointly. Tail wagging the dog on this one. The underlying reality, that marriage today is a glorified quickie, is not caused by no fault divorce so much as it is another outcome of modernity.

Considering that the out of wedlock birth rate is 40% (over half among millennials, only patriarchal Utah is less than 20%), you would probably have to be offering something worth the trouble of And personally I'd want some promises, in writing, for something as serious and damaging as pregnancy and birth and motherhood. lmao--or I guess just stay barren, no one's forcing anyone to have kids

Very interesting article, thanks for sharing. I take it you disagree with these premises: The problem with broken families and communities is not that they are unchosen but that they are unhealthy and unsuited to making us happy. And we are finding now that there is more than one way to be unhappy. they mostly add up to a rising generation acutely averse to risk, and so to every form of dynamism. Excessive risk aversion now often deforms parenting, education, work, leadership, and fellowship in …

I absolutely expect things in return. Maybe the better way to put it is "willing to accept the risk that your expectations will not be met". You wouldn't pay a down payment on a house without an escrow, for example (or at least you shouldn't).
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/21 02:32 AM

but who cares This is where the willingness to give without expecting anything in return comes in to play. Give only so much such that your perspective is who cares. How much that is varies based on the individual, probably. That said, I don't pay for dinners on first dates because I don't want to mislead anyone that I'm going to fulfil the provider role. I give with the expectation of reciprocation, I'm not willing to be taken advantage of. Yep

it can be very different from place to place pertaining to social contracts. I don't think there's much variation in the kinds of things we're discussing. Modernity has made sure of that. For example, having sex with a girl doesn't require you to commit to/marry her just about anywhere.

An exception would be guys who are on the end of the spectrum where they are only truly satisfied by monogamy. Hard to say what they should do...not a good era…

I'm gonna break the fourth wall here and be unironic for a second...I think what's happening is that modernity is a period of rapid social and technological change that is beyond the day to day abilities of the human mind to comprehend without a great deal of shortcuts and basically clinging to an explanation to cope.

It’s two people marrying out of love and having a life together. For exactly as long as is beneficial to women. (Average marriage is 7.2 years) Again, how convenient. A couple that get married often fight for a long time to keep a marriage together but if it isn’t improving it and the love is lost then it’s better the marriage end than continue and both parties be unhappy Yeah or you know just don't commit, just think of it as an early divorce lmao
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/21 03:55 PM

Now that women work and can afford to be single, women can choose whether they want to stay in their marriage or not. And it’s a lot more complicated than ‘I got what I wanted now I’m off’. How convenient 🤣whatever at this point the information is everywhere a guy who chooses to marry despite it deserves every ounce of misery that is to follow

You have to as much as possible feel it, immerse it, taste it, touch it, live it. Not everyone has the same opportunity to do so (random example: the expense of travel), but I do think most people do not avail themselves of as much opportunity as they do have.

Lol I'm not sure why it comes as some kind of shock when people favor that which benefits them. It's not like there's some kind of nobility in operation on the other side of things people always favor their interests and the only difference is whether the era or framework you are in is to your benefit or detriment.

wouldn’t it make more sense for families to just concentrate on their daughters to handle these responsibilities and let their sons off the hook and tell them to enjoy life/ find other ways to contribute? This is already happening amongst the poor/working class. The mom and her extended family raise the kid with minimal contribution from the dad. Coming soon to a socioeconomic station near you.

Learning even a quarter of the self-control that most people expect from women will solve the problem. What self-control is expected from women? At every turn billions of dollars of mainstream messaging, and further billions in unearned media, megaphone the conclusion that women should do as they please whenever they please, while men should chain themselves to the traditional order.

Fact is that for guys it's a spectrum, and for some guys they are at one end where they will not be satisfied with anything other than monogamous commitment. That's different from morality. The benefits of close romantic relationships, for men in particular, are well documented, if you refuse to accept the fuzzy emotional aspect (which I suspect you will). They live longer, healthier, and re-enter marriage even after divorce more often than not. MarRiAgEAbLe people are healthier, wealthier, etc. They also happen to disproportionately be neurotic box checkers. Wet grass causes rain. Regardless, feelings are real but I can still be objective about why it's been the norm for the vast …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/21 05:41 AM

White lies are an unavoidable part of relationships, all the more so when talking about the past. People are just going to be likely to try and offer up reasons that seem palatable and won't hurt the other person. So what you're really getting out of this charade is their ability to do so
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/21 05:35 AM

stay single and find someone who equally does not care about yours to have sex with. Or just find someone who is younger, thus more attractive, thus for whatever personal reasons they have wants to do it 🤷‍♂️ No one should be ashamed of pursuing their self interest to the fullest legally permissible extent. If you don't like women being free, if you don't think adult women can handle freedom, then let's restore patriarchy and chaperones.

There's simply no need to marry to have children. Legitimacy? The whole idea of legitimacy comes from a time when divorce was a near zero event, as opposed to now when marriage is breakable at any time for no reason or any reason. Just think of it as an early divorce 🤣

Wealth is always relative after all. Looking at the number without the context. For example, not accounting for the impact of divorce on the trajectory. The fact of having to compromise with another person. When people talk about amassing wealth, presumably it's not solely about "yay number go up". It's about what it enables.

If they want to have a kid either way, as the lower classes are finding out already they're not entitled to a marriage to have it happen. 40% of births are out of wedlock. Only patriarchal Utah is below 20%. Over half of millennial births are out of wedlock.

Vetting is self soothing ego delusion in current year. I mean yeah, vet. But we are all rootless strangers now, and anyone can successfully wear whatever mask they want for however long they want. There aren't studies either way. My guess would be that it might make it less likely they'd be hostile to a prenup, but there's still the fact that a lot of women take the mommy track once they have children.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/21 07:19 PM

Assuming they would want to have children no matter what, the relevant comparison is whether they would be better off divorced or never married in the first place
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/21 07:17 PM

Yeah very bad idea in itself to do a prenup without both sides having lawyers because it risks being invalidated (at least where I am)

The women take the mommy track once they have kids
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/21 07:15 PM

Nah that's a myth. They can get thrown out, and you might spend some bucks to establish that it's valid in the course of divorce, but the kinds of things that put it at risk of getting thrown out are pretty well understood at this stage (at least where I live)--for example if one side didn't have an attorney, or the terms are completely one sided (say only one side's income is protected) That being said I personally tend to agree if I were ever going to marry, it wouldn't be with a prenup. But t…

Which is what women who marry tend to be before they marry
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/21 07:08 PM

I had no issue doing a prenup when I got married. With the caveat that I, too, am trading in anecdotes, I don't believe that your having no issue is generalizable. Is it your contention that on average men are more hostile to prenups than women? Men seem more hostile to the notion of less/no sex after marriage, so that releases the true nature of the marital transaction. It says it right in the cartoon I quoted lol

/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/21 06:41 PM

If you're referring to prenups, a prenup need not contradict the economic unification. A prenup just alters the standard terms of the state. Sometimes there are terms included which govern what people will do within the marriage to facilitate the economic union, for example. There isn't only one kind of prenup such that woman/lower earner gets cut off from everything.

It's not necessary for anyone. No need to marry to have sex or children anymore. So the subset we are talking about are the people who marry despite its futility, mostly class striving neurotic box checkers with another box to check

It's a ridiculous thought to believe the Epstein connection among all the major players in US politics was just random. This goes far deeper and is far wider than the media wants you to believe. America needs a grassroots nationalist to fight against the corruption and disgusting excess. Trump if not a controlled OP at the start was obvious one at the end. Trump was on the plane too. Simply saying 'thank-you' for making the ultimate sacrifice is hardly 'ego fulfillment'... It's more than nothing, or outright demonization, which is what it's devolved to

Why would feelings be irrelevant to such a personal and potentially destructive, life altering decision

The stats show a decline in men's labor force participation to record lows
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 08:14 PM
1

What most people don't realise, is that men thrive outside modern society. Some men
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 08:14 PM
14

Personally don't really care about the stats all I know is when committing partner's sexual history gives me images and makes me feel icky, and so I don't commit
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 08:12 PM
12

Lol societal collapse isn't a particularly pleasant experience for anyone
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 08:11 PM

I don't need society It's easy to say "I would survive a collapse". Those actually capable are probably far fewer in number than those who believe they are capable.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 07:41 PM

Record low labor participation rate by men is an empirical fact. If you have other ideas as to why that is occurring, let's hear them.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 07:19 PM
7

slim Apparently not 🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 07:18 PM
1

That seems like a problem worth solving. It's very easy to claim in the abstract not to care about the collapse of society, but saying it abstractly and actually living it, being part of the group who are alive and left holding the bag at the time of collapse, are very different things.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 07:15 PM
3

You expect people to take accountability but not enough people are taking accountability. Men's record low labor force participation rate is but one example. If the discussion is not of interest, you are free to not engage in it, bur that is the discussion.

No society lasts forever. It's not extinction that's being discussed.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 07:07 PM

Well, the statistics and observations seem to indicate the answer to your question is that a sufficient number of people have no ability to take accountability for anything. So then what
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 07:07 PM
1

Men are increasingly not participating. I wouldn't equate with a society without men. It's not zero men who are participating. But it's definitely declining.

For the purposes of this OP I'm describing statistics and observations that are occurring in modernity. This one lady's response was Either you man up and show us you can do it without us, or you don’t… and men continue to be weak and lazy forever until the west collapses in on itself. Well, it's looking like the latter if those are the options
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 06:56 PM
3

Well, societies collapse. This is true, and I say this all the time actually "no society lasts forever". However, saying it abstractly and actually living it, being part of the group who are alive and left holding the bag at the time of collapse, are very different things. If men don’t have a will to survive and be the best then there is something wrong with them. Ok, but it is what it is
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 06:54 PM
6

Well, do you agree with that other lady who thinks it will lead the west to collapse on itself?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 06:53 PM

Just shy of half of black men have ever been married. That leaves a large proportion to be considered who do not marry, but may still cohabitate, date, etc

I think the truth is the patriarchy allowed men to become weak, lazy, and complacent at the expense of the women who served them and now that weakness and complacency is being punished because the bar has been raised. I did mention this as a possibility in the OP. Don't blame society for raising the bar, blame men who fail to reach it. Yet that isn't happening. The blaming is happening to an extent, but not the bar reqching. As a comment before this with similar sentiment put it (and other simil…

I think the fact that men need a strict map and directions for them to act like productive citizens or if they don’t get it they regress into useless slobs tells us all we need to know about them. Yes You shouldn’t need a road map to find your purpose. That’s an excuse by lazy men who refuse take personal accountability. You see what needs to be done. Do it. And yet, that doesn't seem to be happening. As the comment before this with similar sentiment put it Either you man up and show us you can …

/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 06:35 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/21 06:34 PM
2

You’re saying men needed to stand on women’s back in order to thrive. Yeah that's exactly what it says lol That’s what you are saying cause that’s what I’m hearing? Yes and men continue to be weak and lazy forever until the west collapses in on itself. Well yeah. Easier said than done though, especially for women lmao

For one example, let's say you choose to suppress a preference for women with little sexual history because society says it's muhsogynistic. I’m sure you’re proud of everything in your past and there’s not a single thing you wouldn’t want any woman you’re romantically interested in to find out about you The impetus is on them to decide what to do about that. I don't owe anyone commitment and live in a time when a man can have any damn thing he wants without commitment (and all of the worst parts when committing)

a) it's unknowable and b) n count is mostly a proxy for virginity preference, thus if you're a guy and such things are a part of your preferences the best thing to do in current year is not commit, since that way it doesn't matter

Yet the fight to not be shamed continues despite none of those consequences existing. People want to be able to do what they want and to not be judged for it. Admittedly the dynamics are different for men: if you're the kind of guy who lets shaming influence you, you are simply not going to survive this sick hypocritical society

Whether your preferences are satisfiable is a different question. I'm talking purely for where it's a choice. If you don't have that choice, as a practical matter it's not really relevant, though even then, you're more likely to pursue, perceive, and grasp what choices are available if you're not hung up on what society will think of you doing the thing (men bear the burden of performance after all)

men are free to reject women who don’t meet their preference in the fullest sense, same as women. Yes in the sense of anyone can break up with anyone (just don't state the actual reason) but the disparity is in the disparate mainstream tolerance of expression of preferences as between men's and women's preferences.

Yeah, exit the prison, break up/don't commit to such a person in the first place 🤷‍♂️

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
