Don't be stupid and choose some new chick over your kids, being stupid with women is why you're in this situation. If you were lucky enough to fight and get 50/50 don't give it away you will severely regret this.

Hold on have you talked to a lawyer, why are you leaving? Do not leave worst thing a man can do in this situation is to leave unless you want to be a EOW dad

I wouldn't fixate on this too much, this process moves very very slowly, and can be very expensive, but you gotta power through. I remember in the early days of this being all worked up all the time and now it's like nothing oh she filed something? What craziness today. You get to a point where money loses all meaning and value to you. I kind of like my relationship with money now after this experience. This experience will forever change you, you'll realize In this process you're stronger than …

Yea like 10, luckily here it's all zoom so appearance on zoom only cost few hundred bucks, I spent 5k of that 15 was to mediators and GAL, crazy stbx had us pay 5k to sit with mediator for 8 hours and had full 50/50 agreement written and ready to submit to judge and she backed out and we got GAL.

Extremely extremely common more uncommon for it not to be accused, hopefully your situation ends up better then mine I have trial date set for early October and I'm 15k into lawyer fees. Just remember this, ignore her shit and keep your mouth shut and don't agree to anything that's less then 50/50
/r/Divorce_Men18/08/24 11:52 PM

Gotcha ignore her shit, that's not evidence lol mine has tried that with our GAL and he told her to quote "shut up" and stop emailing him lol

Emergency custody order will get you in front of a judge in days, my stbx played this game broke our agreement because we had nothing in court she thought she was smart I filed emergency on a Wednesday I had my daughter back by Friday morning before hearing. And when you do this you'll get a court order custody or parenting time and she can't do this again, and I got 50/50 order from her shenanigans.

Nah totally disagree, the first time is going to set the precedence, when you roll over she'll remember that and next time she's gonna force the issue knowing you'll bend over. Fight your heart out the first time for your kids.

My family finds it disgusting that I've been fighting in court over a year when I have no money no assets only a toddler that I was granted 50/50 temp orders this should have been settled out 10 months ago but the ex and her lawyers REFUSE to compromise on ANYTHING.

My stbx paid for a motion and two hearings over decoratione and as she put it her "memory boxes". Prob spent 3k over dollar tree decoration and garbage she made from Etsy instructions. Dragged me through two hearings when I repeatedly told her and my lawyer told her lawyer "come get your garbage it's in the garage". Then she sent me 3-4 threatening messages about a Halloween wood sign I was throwing out and I took out of the garbage and when she came she didn't even take the damn thing. The shit…

Lawyer told me unless it's worth over $1000+ bucks it's not worth anything, my ex filed all sorts of motions prob spent $1500 in court paperwork and two hearings over garbage in the crawl space

I had the papers drafted and ready to file but she beat me to it by a day. We had a lot of fights and she would up the ante every fight the last big fight we had before I told her I want a divorce was I was bed ridden with pneumonia and she still expected me to watch our 1 year old because I was a SAHD, she removed from the house my PS5 TVs fire sticks all the food from the fridge and said since I'm so sick you won't need these things and left with our child and didn't come back for 3 days I end…

Listen, my ex tried this shit oh you go sleep on the couch I said no, and continued to sleep in the bed, she tried it again, oh you sleep on the couch I said that's ok, shortly after that I left for a day trip with friends came back and she hijacked out daughters playroom and turned it into a bedroom was the weirdest two months of my life, my poor baby would walk in there and say where the playroom?? Love someone feels for another person whose a stranger and no relation to you, does not exist it's made up. It's a combination of lust convenience and routine. There is no "in love". The love you feel for your child or a parent is something different. There's absolutely no reason to ever get married.

At least once a week over the last 14 months, I honestly feel like once you train your brain to stop that cause and effect or chain reaction, it slowly diminishes. You have to realize that the response they get is control and they get off on it. My stbx at least once a week tries to get reactions from me to use against me and I laugh it off and walk away and ignore her nonsense.

HA divorce has cost so far around 45k, 15k for me and 30k for crazy stbx all it takes is one crazy angry person to really drive up costs.

What do you do when the divorce has been going on for over a year no police no arrest no nothing not a shred filed in the courts about any "abuse" and we get a GAL and no mention of any "abuse" then we get a trial date and everyone is telling her to settle judge has ruled multiple times to maintain the 50/50 we've been doing for over a year and after all this, the GAL won't talk to her anymore, and she sends the GAL an email CCing me, my lawyer and her lawyer and demanding that the GAL talk to h…

My dad got his ass kicked with a lawyer then he went back over the years representing himself and judge would make my mom's lawyer photo copy everything for him, every year he'd lower his CS and get more time with us over and over again while self representing and my mom always had a lawyer

It's not final but trial date set months before my bday so I'm gonna said it will be 34

Never go scorched earth when kids are involved, the ex will but you shouldn't, play nice give her nothing to use against you in trial. AlWAYS assume the judge is going to see every message you send.
/r/Divorce_Men21/07/24 10:57 PM

Well, as far as custody you are in CA so that's really good for you, but bad for financials for you if you are much higher earner
/r/Divorce_Men17/07/24 11:40 PM
4

This isn't about the house leaving the marital home when she is a SAHM, will severely hurt your custody battle. Will almost guarantee a bad temp arrangement and once that temp order is below 50/50, fighting back against it will be very hard.
/r/Divorce_Men17/07/24 10:40 PM
1

Once you push back she will not agree to 50/50 custody that's the first thing, custody is always the battle the financials are fairly boiler plate calculators
/r/Divorce_Men17/07/24 10:33 PM
5

You need to get your ass back home before she files against you and you can't get back home, that's number one,.number two get a lawyer asap

YUP emergency custody order do it yesterday
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 12:58 PM

I would get a consultation from an outside attorney without her knowing and find out what the laws and rules are in your state, if your state is one of those if one parent has majority IE 1 day then the other pays child support she could be setting you up for 30% of your pay check even tho you're doing 50/50 and after that first year she I'll take you back to court
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 12:56 PM
3

Family court doesn't give a flying fuck about those cutesy little clauses in parenting plan, all she has to do is say she's been dating him 6 months Shared expenses are enforceable tho
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 12:50 PM

That's a nightmare sorry you gotta deal with that
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 12:46 PM

That's a lot of CS for that custody she don't work?
/r/Divorce_Men04/07/24 11:04 AM

/r/Divorce_Men01/07/24 08:50 PM

/r/Divorce_Men16/06/24 12:29 PM

Right stay focused move on and end it as quickly as possible and 50/50 is the hill you ALWAYS die on either with kids or finances
/r/Divorce_Men16/06/24 12:38 AM
2

Absolutely you don't owe her anything because she is a SAHM doesn't mean you finance her life at most you do for a year or two, the marriage length is really what determines the alimony. Did she ever work?
/r/Divorce_Men16/06/24 12:32 AM
5

Oh fuck that file and get that over with you wont have to pay any alimony just CS one kid 50/50 state that won't be a hard one
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 11:48 PM
2

State? Years married? Does she work at all? These things matter
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 11:28 PM

I got a promotion mid divorce in a new career, and made a name for myself already and In the running for next promotion
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 08:59 PM

If you can absorb the financial blow you're always better leaving if you're unhappy alimony and asset split will be the main hurdle
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 06:24 PM
3

Custody will be 50/50, she'll get child support based on large pay gap and alimony based upon the length of marriage, every state has a calculator child support not negotiable generally alimony is
/r/Divorce_Men02/06/24 06:05 PM

SHE can leave the kids stay, shouldn't be a hard battle tbh

Too many women meet with a lawyer who lies to them and sings them an amazing song, mine was convinced she'd get to keep house not pay me equity, get sole custody for daughter, child support and lifetime alimony (we were only married 2 years). When she filed I offered her a steal of a deal I'd walk away from everything 60k in house equity give her 6 months to refi or sell it and keep all money if she decides to sell, not touch her big retirement account, and all I asked was let's get it done quic…

/r/Divorce_Men18/05/24 05:45 PM

Short term marriage I wouldn't worry too much about alimony maybe she gets few years if she even gets it, you'll get half of what was accrued blin her savings but most.likely you'll have to force her to disclose it

Stop smoking weed would be my first advice, regardless if you're by the kids or not, and die on that 50/50 or close to it hill do not accept anything less until a judge finishes it.
/r/Divorce_Men05/05/24 07:54 PM

Wow I'm glad it's moving along quickly for you been in the trenches for over a year now, mine still acts and says she's getting sole custody wanted to give me 2 overnights a month despite the fact that I was sahd and we've been doing 50/50 since she filed a year ago, she cried about how much she's paid for divorce and I laugh at her because she's a fool who calls her lawyer everytime I fart

You are in a very very good position put your feet up and let the lawyers handle it. Once they leave the marital.house and you lock in a 50/50 or better temp schedule it's done when it comes to custody.

It's a double edged sword honestly, if she had stayed in family home maybe she Could have forced a more favorably outcome for herself, she didn't she left and I used the house as leverage dragging my feet milking our temp schedule of 50/50 for the last 9 months, now she had uphill battle to change parenting time to what she wanted 80-20, so she settled and we agreed upon 50/50 but the house is like 5 mins away from all of our family and the condo I own and gonna live in, and now she's saying she…

Unfortunately, your dog is gone, I love.my.dog and she is like my second daughter but in the end it's a dog idk if you can fight over a dog in court, and it's prob not worth it sadly. There's prob nothing you can do especially if you got favorable outcome in court I wouldn't give her a reason to take you back to court, she's being petty and vindictive it sucks but it is what it is

Damn, I'm $3000 in the hole to my attorney since July, and $1200 to mediator, but we have parenting plan agreed upon just needs to be written up by lawyers and financial stuff shouldnt be too bad only married two years and no money except profit from house around $20k, im hoping should be a easy split.

You're better off, counseling doesn't do anything, I went for years to counseling and my stbx played the victim like the counselor was picking on her, then would give me the silent treatment for days afterwards because how dare I lie and make up stories during our sessions because she didn't agree with reality. Then eventually the counselor was against her and she refused to go back

It was actually second session so was 8 hours first session neither of us conceded an inch and I told her at the end of it I'll see her in the court room, and that just for custody, financials are next but there's not much there split up some profits for house and retirement accounts. What's funny is she put her financial demands in with the parenting plan papers that I got to read but wasn't too crazy just basic 50/50 split on costs and I pay for our child's insurance but Ill gladly pay for tha…

This is what my attorney said about our hearing in March, going back to mediation get agreements on as much as you can and judge will tell us what he would do.

Im wondering this too, my attorney has told me this many times don't try to agree on everything, just get agreements on some stuff and he's gonna get a conference with judge and stbx lawyer and ask the judge what he would do. And force a settlement that way, well see my stbx thinks she's gonna get EVERYTHING majority of money from house sale which there isn't much, wants everything in house sold and split, and wants basically sole custody. It's insanity what these women cook up in their heads an…

There's men in this group myself included who are in a war and have went to war to get 50/50, and have spent 10s of thousands to get the chance to get 50/50, I would take the 50/50 sign papers immediately before she changes her mind, and can always hire out help to watch your children
