A couple of suggestions for everyone going through this. Unfortunately I have an iPhone, so my advice is specific to that platform:

Go to your ex's contact in messages and make sure mute is turned on. I also recommend turning on the option to hide alerts and TURN OFF read receipts. You can still check for emergency messages, but the lack of "notifications" helps me regulate my emotions when I'm ready to see what was sent.
There is a function called "focus" on iOS. I made a custom "focus" that is essentially everything and everyone EXCEPT my stbx. That way all calls go straight to VM and messages don't create alerts. Every interaction is on my time and my convenience. I have programmed this focus to take effect at 00:01 am until 23:59 pm every day.
This is good for everyone, but setup a "filter" in your email. I did this and my stbx's emails are auto archived out of my inbox and labelled. Again, I check that once a day or so. At my convenience.

Hope some of these help others. I have found minimizing the random contacts from my ex and controlling when and where I interact with her has helped immensely in my ability to live a life of serenity.

I only know the iphone way but, select contact at top of screen, hide alerts, change ringtone to a recording of silence, disable haptic ring for user.

It is a mute/ignore the long way around, pretty much everything but blocking them. A stern, " please for the love of christ, could you fucking chill it" (in so many words) and then to the void he goes.

Dude mine is driving me crazy too. Her birthday is next week and she’s asking if we can hangout and if I can give her some intimacy. I’ve told her a hundred times that ship has sailed, but she doesn’t register it..

Took my daughter out today, and she’s been blowing my phone up non fucking stop.
