I took a lot going through the divorce, but nothing was harder than the sexting. It’s been a few years and to this day I can’t look at my ex as the same person I married. Way too many of us can relate to all of this.

Mine did the same thing. Talked me into selling the house and moving across the country to be with her friends/family. Within an hour of selling the house, it was over. I still had to move due to plans already in motion. She’s living her best life and I’m stuck in a place I don’t know until the kids turn 18. I don’t have an answer for you but apparently the tactic isn’t uncommon.

Mine asked me for 10k from a cruise ship two weeks ago. The level of nerve after all she did is unreal

Same boat. Divorced late last year. I’m deployed and have to hear through the kids some guy I never heard of is there every day to step in. The replacement feeling is sort of soul sucking, but most, if not all of us are in the same boat. Whether we know it or not.

Mine did the same. It’s an effective tactic to get you stressed. Worst experience of my life but the judge saw right through her claims. She got so mad in court the judge had to tell the lawyer to calm her down. That helped a lot. Just stay calm and ride it out.

Mine did the same thing. It was a rouse to get me to move. I would’ve been so much better off if I had just gone through with it the first time.

Exact same thing happened to me and I deeply regret it.

I lost around $1m in potential pension. $130k in the house, and $100k toward child support. That doesn’t include the $$$ in legal fees over 2 years. We get pretty screwed.

I got burnt by reacting. Which was her goal… like everyone here said, stay calm. The judge isn’t going to give her more than her share of everything.

Most of them say similar stuff to justify it. It’s a confidence killer but when you see their actions, In time you’ll let it go.

I took mine to Hawaii after it was over. We didn’t speak and did our own thing. It pretty much ruined the islands for me so I also recommend getting out of that cruise. Unfortunately, yes. There tends to always be another dude when that conversation finally comes out.

Exact thing happened to me. Vasectomy-> divorce. I guess this is a trending tactic.

She got smoking hot, but fake in my opinion. The phone notifications went private. A critical red flag. I checked it one day and can’t unsee it. Couldn’t spend an evening with me without provoking some reason to leave or get me to leave. Completely glued to YouTube mom-life fantasies.

Time. That’s it. I felt the same way but time is slowly breaking that mentality. Mine cheated. Attempted to rekindle, tricked me into selling the house and moving across the country only to ask for a divorce within an hour of selling the house. For what it’s worth, It’s been two years and I still read here daily.

Yeah. Divorce was a brutal 3 year fight and it doesn’t hold water to the replacement feeling for the kids sake. Of course they made him sound like a superhero, which I guess I should be relieved about. Also struggling with the fact that he doesn’t have kids and now has a part in my kids life. Is what it is. The Reddit does help a bit.

Yep. I have no desire for her but knowing there’s a man in their life while I can’t be affected me a bit. I’ll get over it I’m sure. Thanks for all the comments.

I did the same thing. It was just a chess move. You know your situation better but use serious caution.

Mine got back with me until I was baited into a vasectomy. She was truly afraid I’d have someone else’s kid. She ended it before I even fully recovered, which doesn’t take much time.

Same. Tricked into a vascectomy just prior to divorce

I got tricked into moving across the country. Within one hour of selling the house it was over. Same boat here. Been 2 years, I hate this place but it gets easier.

I agreed to sell the house and move across the country for mine. Within one hour of the house selling she called it off. 2000 miles from family, it’s a good time.

Happened to me. Got to keep a level head here. Judges see monsters every day. They’ll know the difference. Refrain from talking to her at all until then.

Whatever you do, keep cool around her. It will all be used against you, even an angry text. Happened to me. Just keep a level head and let your lawyer level the field.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
