97% of all Muslim marriages are monogamous. So saying in Islamic nations (what does that even mean) that it’s common to have a harem of women is kind of Islamophobic on your part because that is simply divorced from the reality of the situation.

Can confirm, if I could change anything about my 20s at all I wish I never dated men. I am still successful in my own right but I’m well aware how much I lost out on too. Don’t ever make exceptions for a man. If he actually loves you and is actually good for you he wouldn’t expect you to ruin your life for him anyway

In my culture if you’re seeing a man for a year and he hasn’t formally asked your family permission to propose to you then it’s a problem. Even in western culture, if it takes him longer than 1/2 years you need to leave.

Men project their feelings about a woman to the rest of the male population. I’ve been proposed to more times than I’ll admit, by men a lot more eager to wed than I was, the only reason he is telling you NO men want to get married is because HE doesn’t want to marry you. Don’t internalize his bullshit because that’s all it is - bull shit. You did the right thing, there is better out there.

When I got to the bottom of your post and saw that you’re 18, it made me happy because you’re on the right track if you’re realizing this now and not ten years later. One piece of advice I will give you is when you go to college and start meeting new people and having experiences, that’s when I felt like men were gaslighting me about my standards the hardest. When you’re a college girl you have to worry about sleazy college boys as well as older predators that seek out college girls. As long as …

So weird for men to sit and talk about whether things I did for myself (my education and career) are attractive. I didn’t get a degree so someone could put their dick in it. Nobody cares what insecure men want

Men know how they are like and how other men are like. I can get men I know to agree with me about the fundamentals of FDS before a Pick Me ever will.

I agree with this a thousand percent and have been saying it all my life. I’m from west asia and the bride and her family aren’t expected to pay a single thing. The idea of a man having a bachelor party and cheating on you the night before the wedding also doesn’t exist in my culture. Several things about American dating culture and marriage culture absolutely terrify me. American women are expected to go 50/50 on dates and bills for the rest of their lives while also getting CZ engagement rings…

Most of those men aren’t actually INTJ they just wish they were because of misconceptions about the personality type. I’m an INTJ and I’ve come across some INTJ men before and they’re more romantically clueless than they are master emotional manipulators but do tend to be painfully arrogant.

Lmao you’re the one berating your own ethnic group for karma online instead of thinking critically about the men you pick. That along with this response to me makes it pretty clear that you don’t have enough insight into the world or yourself to properly vet a suitor. At the end of the day, I’m a strategy coach in this sub and you’re a newbie, maybe humble yourself and listen to other people

That street harassment behavior has less to do with their race or culture and everything to do with economic and social status. Here I get harassed in the street by Hispanic or white men, I don’t take it to mean anything about that group of people just that most men are either white or Hispanic here. But there is a larger Hispanic population than MENA over here, MENA are a very small minority. I’m arab American and live in a nice area. An Arab American man that meets all my standards wouldn’t be…

Yeah this is important. Feels like OP rushed to make a judgement over an entire culture based on observing one situation she doesnt have the full story to. It’s a Common theme on this sub for them to look for opportunities to bash MENA culture and Islam in general so unfortunately OP hasn’t been the first to do this.

MENA men that were born and raised in the west usually have different mentalities than that. I date mostly MENA American men and im not a virgin, it’s never been an issue, I’ve been proposed to several times, it really depends on the man. Also I’m sure our ages have something to do with it too, but I’ve had better experiences with MENA American men than any other ethnic group. I have met men of other races that were more insecure about my past than the Arab men I dated. You can find good and bad…

So the condition is actually real but i think he is lying about having it. When someone with the condition is having an episode, you can tell they are actually still asleep...and if you interact with them you can wake them up...if she couldn’t tell her husband was still asleep then he probably wasn’t asleep. I haven’t heard of someone with the condition actually have an episode for two minutes or long enough to be climaxing either

It’s none of their business until they directly ask you. If they do, calmly tell them that he hasn’t offered you commitment yet so he has no reason to expect it out of you and then change the subject. Don’t make a big deal out of it If a man really likes you he should be expressing that kind of interest and intentions early on, if you aren’t sure how he feels about you after 3 dates then drop him. You are a dumbass. The Saudi Arabian government commits sins regularly, any Muslim with a brain knows that Saudi Arabian government is the anthesis of Islam and it doesn’t matter what they claim. You’re again a dumb ass. I’m from a region in the Middle East where male guardian ship isn’t a thing. Your dad and uncles were a little mean to you so now you just make shit up online? I’m sorry but that’s your experience. It is white feminism lol, where are you when there are literally any other discussions going on that concern Muslim women? The same political party obsessed with denouncing Islam “for the benefit of the Muslim woman” will literally spit on that same Muslim woman’s face if she comes to them as a Syrian refugee. Agree 100% Like many others have said I won’t control him but I’m not going to commit to a man that another woman can turn around and say “oh yeah, him? He follows me on Instagram and likes my bikini posts all the time”. I hate it when men in committed relationships interact with me on social media. They also under estimate how many men are all ready established and making good money in their careers before the age of 30. Why would I, a woman in my 20s, bother with a 48 year old attorney when I can have a 29 year old one?

Finding a HVM isn’t a guarantee that we will have biological children. Fertility issues happen, not everyone can have kids. Settling for just any man, for a future that isn’t guaranteed, is never worth it.

Yikes, on a public forum where anyone can screenshot? That’s not very high value woman of you. Whether you like it or not, you just bashed a prophet for the second largest religion in the world. That’s a lot of people you could possibly deeply offend. Just because you won’t date a Muslim doesn’t mean one can’t be your boss one day, or be in another position of authority over you where comments like these could come back to bite you in the ass. Any self respecting woman lmfao, don’t you dare. You are confusing culture with Islam, like a lot of people in those cultures do when they commit violence against women or mistreat women “in the name of Islam”. I’m sure you come from a culture and believe in a religion that I could pick a part and find equally as stupid. But doing so would reflect poorly on me just as your comment reflects very poorly on your character so I won’t. Y’all do too much in the comment section anytime Muslim or Islam …

I’m a Muslim woman, it all depends on finding a man with the same halal/haram ratio as you. That’s going to mean different things for different people. There are certain characteristics that are haram, that I won’t see as a red flag, that another Muslim woman would. It’s all relative, so the stuff you look for and questions you ask would also change accordingly. Make sure you see eye to eye on what’s important to you. Never settling down is actually the better alternative to both settling down and finding a HVM. Even the highest value man is still a man at the end of the day lol. I see commitment as something men have to convince me to do for them, not something that I have to convince men I’m worthy of. I’m in no rush to put my career on hold to spread some man’s seed lmao. With alcoholics it’s easier to tell than other addictions. Looking back at alcoholics I’ve been involved with, the signs were there, I just listened to the stuff they’d tell people and themselves to cope with their addiction and thought they “weren’t that bad” Things I ask to figure it out: Are you a drinker? How often do you drink? What do you usually drink when you drink? Is it social for you or do you find yourself drinking alone sometimes to unwind? Have you ever had a DUI/DWI? How long have…

Unpaid internships are legal only if the intern is the primary beneficiary of the arrangement. Therefore the intern is still receiving a benefit, even if not compensated financially, as they are primarily benefiting from the arrangement they are in. I think if those people got the mental health help they needed, they wouldn’t be into perverted sexual acts. Society shouldn’t encourage people to indulge in their kinks, they should encourage them to seek help to figure out what happened in their childhood that leads them to find sex like that as ideal and how to heal that wound. Instead of encouraging people to beat each other up in bed like it’s normal, maybe people should ask each other why they even find that pleasurable to begin with. Whet…

She expects them to do that because she is mentally ill and wasn’t making progress in therapy, it was never portrayed as an excuse. This isn’t real life it was a TV show, and that wasn’t the point of the show at all.

I liked the show, I think Devi is mentally ill so I didn’t take the creators of the show as saying her behavior was admirable or anything. Devi reminds me of myself when I was at that age, brown, nerdy, and suffering from BPD. A lot of stuff about that character reminded me of BPD. I think her fixation with that boy and hot/cold behavior with her friends wasn’t praised, I think the show did try to point out that Devi isn’t okay and she acted the way she did due to misplaced grief.

Flirting with men 101 is laughing at his jokes even if they aren’t funny. Making a man jealous 101 is laughing at any other man’s jokes around him even if they aren’t funny. Yes, men like the rest of us can feel one way or another regarding humor or when humor is involved. These feelings aren’t exclusive to men and they don’t automatically make someone low value. How they respond to it is, so I wouldn’t be so quick to write humor off as a weapon. It’s a tool. I don’t really agree with this post …

This is a great post because I was thinking about this the other day. If we listen to men’s lyrics in music in regards to women they frequently tell us exactly how they think about us - loud and clear and what their tactics are. This is a great example of that.

Always ask how tall they are immediately. If all they had of you was photos from the neck up, best believe they’d try to figure out what your weight is. Don’t feel bad, men are way more ruthless with women. If he asks why just say “the vibe felt off”. You don’t have to tell him much. He is getting rejected regardless, the “why” doesn’t matter so much. Most of the time though men have enough self respect to not interrogate you as to why, they’ll usually pretend to be tough/not care and keep whate…

This is true, it’s the majority. I have far more stories of friends getting cheated on during tragedies in their lives than them getting cheated on during other times. There is something about a LVM seeing you down on your luck that makes him want to add to the pain as much as he can.

You don’t owe him any money lol consider the wine a gift. If he even expects money back for it or the wine back that’s pretty low of him, in my opinion. He didn’t give you the wine as part of a transaction for a service (a date). He just gave you the wine. Let men waste their money on you if they want to. Just tell him you aren’t interested, men get rejected all the time. It isn’t new to them.

Yeah I keep my social media (one app) with very minimal content mostly related to work and I use it for that initial lurk where I gather my information then after that I’m usually not interested in seeing more of their content. There is no going back but there is always room to improve moving forward. Men literally masturbate to images of women being beat and degraded. Our emotional scars only turn them on and give them something to aspire to. All men want to top every man in your life. The thing with a negative value man is he also wants to top the negative experiences too. He wants to be the new topic of your therapy sessions going forward. They see it as a win.

Keep conversations surface level. You’re there to play a mental game of chess to further yourself in life, you’re not there to make friends. Be nice to everyone, say good morning, have basic manners around the office. Smile to people, be seen as someone charismatic and trustworthy. If you have a solid reputation people will doubt anything negative they hear about you. I’ve seen some people get away with a lot of questionable shit due to the strength of their reputation alone. You are a sales per…

I used to entertain 5’8” guys until I realized how insane they are because of the complex mostly other men give them about their size. Even though I’m short myself, 5’10” is the lowest I’ll go.

Yeah my family is very involved but that’s how our culture is. How would your mom take it if when she brought the subject up, you pretended like you were interested in what she had to offer? “Yes mom, you’re right. I need to start thinking of my future. Do you know any eligible marriage minded men? “ Even if she says no, if you respond in a similar way every time she will get tired of having that conversation with you. Make it like talking to a brick wall. “Ok I’ll get married, find me a husband…

It doesn’t mean anything. To some men, simply dating and talking to several men makes you a hoe. Any beautiful single woman existing on her own terms is a hoe. Or maybe he is a LVM that thinks every woman out there is a PickMe, and that there are no “good women” . The shallowness in what they attract is a reflection of who they are.

What’s your ethnic background? I’m just asking because I live through the same thing. I’m in my late 20s and had that same mindset for awhile that I was going to “expire” at 25 too. Mostly from having my family push it into my head that I had to be married by then. A lot of that is what you said, cultural and misogynistic. Some people may disagree with me, but at this point I’ve stopped arguing with older female family members that have that mindset. At least not directly, I try to change their …

South Asian and West Asian women come from just as oppressive cultures that breed “submissive” women but yeah they exclude the entire rest of the continent. I think it definitely has a lot to do with the anime obsession

It’s SO HARD to find clothes! I thought getting smaller would help but it hasn’t and I realized it’s just my shape. And because my body has fluctuated so much I still have signs of old stretch marks. That’s exactly what FDS is trying to teach women. When you become your best self you will attract everyone, good and bad. Then we help you figure out how to filter your options down to someone who values you the most. Whereas in the manosphere it’s all about how to manipulate and devalue another person into thinking they like you, with very little focus on true self improvement.

As a bisexual woman I find it really pathetic. There is nothing cool about it, and as someone who has been sexually harassed and assaulted by other women probably just as much as men it’s degrading and actual chicks who like chicks can tell they do it for male attention which is so cringe. There is a huge difference between empowering and complimenting another woman in a healthy way, even being able to acknowledge another woman’s strengths in front of your man with security. There is nothing coo…

The guys who like my pics are in my DMs. If he is liking pics he is also responding to stories. I’ve had guys in my DMs complaining about their girlfriends feeling upset like you feel saying she is just being insecure or crazy for no reason, within the same breath tell me I have a nice rack or thirst in some other way. I call them out in it, it gets exhausting. A lot of their girlfriends are PickMes, I’ve had it backfire on me anytime I’ve tried to make a woman aware of her mans behavior. Chance…

The middle one with the emotional abuse, yes. It was pretty traumatic for me actually as I spent so much of my life advocating for victims of abuse/violence/war and the accusations from him and his flying monkeys about me were hard to deal with. Thankfully for my strong female friends and therapy I realized I wasn’t ever emotionally or mentally abusive, he was the abuser from day one.

In my personal experience with LV and HV, family/community had everything to do with it...HV had families that held them accountable and treated women they brought home with respect both during my time dating their son and even to this day. They were just raised right. They were brought up to have good respect and character. The LV men have families or other role models that are echo chambers for their worst behaviors. They encourage them to only seek comfort and happiness at the expense of grow…

I get hate mail a lot. Here on Reddit from being here but also sometimes just for existing as a woman with an opinion on the internet. When I get a lot after being on this sub that’s how I know my posts/comments are hitting a nerve in the manosphere. I see their hate as a good thing, I don’t want to be like the type of women they praise.

I love this. I love that you also want to help your son be a high value man too! There are so many mothers out there that turn a blind eye to their son’s abusive behaviors towards women because “it’s their son” as if his girlfriend or ex isn’t someone’s baby too. High value men aren’t made by us, they’re made at home by the people/community that raised them. I definitely think moms should not only be welcomed but encouraged to join.

You’re right about that. Men will listen to their friends/brothers tell them they think they’re so lucky, openly lust after their women, and then for some reason think that same man is giving them good relationship advice

This is spot on and it highlights why men encourage each other to seek these arrangements out. Its a lot easier to abuse an 18 year old girl as a 40 year old man than it is to build a healthy relationship with someone around your own age for them.

Fuck yes that is such a good point...they literally give each other bad advice on purpose to reduce their own competition. The example you gave of them telling each other to wait till 40 is so true too, and so false. even the best looking 40 year old man still aged bad and looked better when he was 25-30. Hate fucking is a genuine thing that men do. I have “friends” that have told me they’ve had sex with people they actually hated and weren’t attracted to just to feel like they “conquered her”. Especially if he has her consent to abuse her during the act. A man could want you dead, hate you down to your core, and still want to have sex with you. Sexual attention from men means nothing.

La suerte de la fea la guapa la desea. The pretty woman desires the luck of the ugly woman. Being more attractive doesn’t guarantee that men will treat you better. Quite the opposite. Big dick energy. I’m in the camp that it “takes one to know one.” So I can kind of get a feel for a man’s energy and make decent enough guesses based on that. Someone that is confident, super self assured, doesn’t feel the need to advertise or brag about sex life (guys who do that are compensating for something), gives head but isn’t obsessed with giving oral (usually sign of small dick or ED), moves his body well (dancers, martial arts, those kind of hobbies can be decent indicators), having an…

It’s shocking how many men I meet that claim to be at minimum 5’8” come out to be exactly my height with heels on. One guy told me he was 5’10” and I was actually taller than him with those heels on. I gave him a hug, realized I was looking over his head, then just went home. Being a short man isn’t the issue. Being an insecure liar is. Insecure men are dangerous and deadly.

There is a big difference between playing up your sex appeal in a classy way and looking for validation by objectifying yourself in a trashy way. I work hard in the gym so I definitely want to show my body off. I go for form fitting clothing that covers a decent amount of skin. Some cleavage but not much. It’s almost like they get off on seeing my phone blow up while I’m ignoring it during our dates, knowing it’s all other men I see on other days during the week, but today is Wednesday and I’m all “theirs” for now and it’s their turn to put on a “Pick Me” show. They’re like peacocks flaunting their feathers. It honestly feels great, like this is the natural order o…

I was kind of in the same boat last year! I blamed myself a bit for his cold feet....he wanted to get engaged years ago, when I was still in that mindset of wanting to take things slow and I did not want to be married in my early/mid 20s. Suddenly I was more stable at work by the time last year rolled around, but he was going through something and did not think us getting engaged at that time was a good idea even though he kept telling me everyday he knows he wants to marry me he just can't do i…

I never ever ask a guy where this is going or what he thinks we are because as long as I am having fun I don't care what he wants (lol - sorry not sorry) especially since he is one of plenty. When they start catching feelings and ask me what is going on or where we are as a couple, I tell them all basically the same exact thing "I have the same philosophy with every man, so it is not just you, but I am not into the boyfriend/girlfriend concept. I do this, I am either single or married - no inbetween. It works on men that *want* to put up with it, honestly. If a man finds a problem with me not willing to be his GF, I dont waste time trying to convince him why I like this sort of arrangement. I just replace him with someone more eager and appreciative of my time. Most men though do get excited when they find out they dont have to worry about you wanting to tie them down and make them a boyfriend. Until a few weeks in when they will reali…

Dating should be a fun, stress free experience for you as a woman. If not, it may be either the expectations you are putting on the situation (desiring a specific outcome) or the people you are going out with. The most stressful part of dating for me is the time it takes to plan an outfit and do my makeup. Otherwise, its a blast. Handsome strangers fighting for my time just to have the opportunity to take me out to a 5 star restaurant for dinner? For free? AND I don't feel like I have to suck an…

In Islam you aren’t obligated to tell your spouse your dirty laundry. I can’t remember exactly where it’s quoted, but you never have to answer those questions honestly. I don’t tell them anything about my history. I keep throwing the question back at them and their double standard until they get tired of asking. You don’t have to reveal anything that you don’t want to reveal. In terms of the men negging you, that’s a common red pill tactic that men do all the time. It’s not your fault that it ha…

Sex is like air, it’s not something you obsess over until you aren’t getting any. When you’re stuck with someone long term in a monogamous relationship that can’t or won’t engage with you sexually, it can take its toll on you. Even if you still have sex but it isn’t fulfilling. /r/DeadBedrooms is full of people going through it. Nothing hurts quite like giving an ugly guy a chance just for him to start acting like you’re the ugly one. The unfortunate truth is when we give men chances they don’t deserve they don’t step up to the plate or appreciate it, they resent us for it.

Yes it’s a huge turn off for me, which is why I usually prefer if they pick the restaurant we eat at in the beginning so I can gauge their taste. And I definitely ask food related questions to make sure I don’t accidentally end up with one of those. Like what do they like, what do they not like, what’s their favorite dish to cook, eat, etc. I also don’t like men who can’t cook. I love to cook and I love trying new food. Someone with an open mind and palate is a must for me.

Dont make any first moves. If he is so oblivious that he cannot tell you are interested, then you are going to have to deal with him being tone deaf for probably the rest of your life. Would you prefer a man that can read a situation and be assertive? Or someone that needs his hand held everywhere he goes? Men catfish all over the internet but project it onto women. They catfish by using pictures of them that are a decade old, back when they were relatively athletic but had a head of hair. I met an amazing dude using OLD about a month ago. In almost every way I think he would have been ideal for me, until we met in person and I realized his pictures were all at least 10 years old. Do not try to turn a hoe into a husband. I know its tempting when you fall for a FWB, but remember you categorized him as an FWB and not real BF/husband material for a reason. The red flags you ignore in the beginning become the reasons you leave in a few years. He is not doing these things because he genuinely feels romantic feelings for you. Again, your mileage may vary, but I’ve had the best experiences with men that share my background. The ex that caused me the most harm and was the most misogynistic, was actually an atheist American guy. Thank you! I’ll be the first to admit that there is misogyny in our culture, but it exists in every culture and is just packaged differently. The key to not getting trapped in one of those situations with a misogynist is to simply not pick those men, regardless of ethnicity! There are plenty of liberal MENA American men out there that would LOVE to meet a woman that checks the boxes their parents want, but won’t mind that he enjoys the occasional glass of whiskey or had a LTR with a Russian girl…

I think his response showed his character and you dodged a bullet. I respond the same way to men I date, I’m not gonna sit here and act smitten over some guy to stroke his ego, and they don’t block me over it. If that’s what did him in, he is terribly insecure. He should see that as a challenge to win you over, not a reason to give up.

Key here being a committed partner. When someone demonstrates value, effort, and commitment first then you can open up to him in a broad enough way that doesn’t tell him too much. The guys you’re just dating in the meantime though, don’t tell them anything. I personally still wouldn’t discuss it because it’s none of their business. Past relationships and what happened with other men shouldn’t concern them.

Yeah but it doesn’t change my desire to be in the dating pool, it makes me not want to commit. I think committing to one man is like giving him a bomb he can use at any time to blow everything up. I have curly hair so outside of wash days, it’s low maintenance just wake up and go. At most I may need to tame some frizz but I usually keep my hair natural. Makeup is expensive, it takes me at least an hour to get ready for a date in total...a $2 cup of coffee is a waste of time. I see a $15-30 entree as the bare minimum a guy can do...for every guy offering me drinks or coffee, there is always someone else asking me out to dinner.
