I'm a middle aged married woman so obviously not dating. I'm here because I have a teen daughter and son and the dating world has changed dramatically since I was dating over 20 years ago. I want to help my daughter date a HVM (if she comes to me for advice) and my son BE a HVM.

I began as a pickmeshia in the 80's but after countless LVM experiences in the 90's, I purchased and used "The Rules" book that I see referenced here. Online dating was just starting but my husband and I were set up by friends of ours. My husband is a HVM (I think?) I'm still not exact on what HVM means--he is an excellent father, provider, he's loyal, honest, dedicated to our family, well mannered, respectful of women, doesn't watch porn (yes, really), he's tall and attractive (at least to me), too. He's not overly romantic but he makes sure to show me he loves me in countless little ways. Our marriage has had it's ups and downs, we both still had a lot of maturing to do but we have made it and are excited to grow old together.

One thing I have observed is that 20/30 years ago, men had to make an effort to date someone due to lack of technology. LVM were still around, but too lazy to make the effort which helped weed them out. Today, technology makes it so easy for LVM to sit on their couches and pretend to be HVM to potential women.
