Where I agree is that any philosophy that uses the terms "always" and "never" is bound to be deeply flawed.

I think you're reading into it too far. Men like young women because they're attractive and will stay attractive longer than women their own age. At least I'd wager that's the crux of it.

You're focusing on fashion for men a lot here. Nearly all of the guys I know who got laid all the time (we're old/married now) wore flip flops, shorts and t shirts in summer or normal-ass shoes, jeans/carhartts and long sleeves in winter. I can't recall one sex-ccessful guy who wore nice clothes and cologne. I can recall plenty of chumps that did so, however. I picked up plenty of girls wearing a faded megadeth t-shirt from high school, or a shirt from a Brazilian marina with a manatee on it, or…

When a war breaks out, you might deserve due respect. Right now, you don't. So what are you talking about? Being a man or a woman, black or white, German or Chinese, doesn't get you SHIT. It's what each person does AS AN INDIVIDUAL that earns them respect or praise. You're trying to earn respect for being a man because of what other men did before you. Pathetic. Trying to divide people into classes in that manner is pure identity politics... which I imagine you're not big on.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 02:33 AM

People who fight in actual wars, sure. Most men have not. I have not. Have you, OP?

I prefer the way I phrased it: Who, according to you, feels the need to justify their preference in the first place? But yes, in a nutshell I agree with you more than you agree with yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 05:46 PM
2

Replace it with a steel man argument of your position then. I think my point stands regardless of what's in the quotes, if I understand your premise. Edit: In other words, I think your premise is just wrong. You say men need to stop justifying their preferences. I say there was never any reason to start.

Holy fuck, the responses here are all over the place... some of you really need to get a grip. In lieu of a proper study, and speaking from personal experience, the answer seems quite obvious. Women tend to date older men because they're more mature, interesting, well read and traveled, and generally have their shit together more than their of-an-age counterparts. For the record: I'm currently in my late 30s and dating a woman 4 years younger. I have only ever dated one woman older than myself. …

True, it does suck, but (and this is a brutal honest truth from an older guy) the band-aid is best ripped off soon. Breakups all suck but none as much as that first one. Going through it a few times will really help develop your sense of abundance, confidence and other RP traits. I smoked for 15 years and quitting was incredibly hard. The first few days I couldn't concentrate on anything but thoughts of smoking. I'd dream about smoking for months and wake up panicked that I smoked. It won't be easy. Don't wait to finish your current pack. Don't wait for a special day. If you're feeling motivated, quit now. I suggest you take advantage of a moment where you're feeling high in willpower. For me it was going to work one day and being out of smokes, but for some reason I dec…

You sound entirely obsessed with this issue. Look man, it's entirely reasonable to not want to date a friend's ex. The fact that you take examples of people being ok with this and ask why she's not is irrelevant. People have their own moral opinions. More importantly though, you need to learn to roll with it. She says she doesn't want to continue? Fine, move on. Find another girl, simple as that. Your insistence on questioning this comes off as way, WAY out on the spectrum.

How long have you been working? When I first started out I hated it too. Then after about 8-10 years I made my peace with it. Now that I work for myself it's much more enjoyable. In evolutionary terms this would be an unstable strategy. Meaning that if all men and women adopted dating strategies contrary to each others' desires, the benefit would go to anyone deciding to defect. Women turning RP would have an abundant source of men and men going FDS would have an abundant source of women. Over time the dating pool would revert to a more stable mixture. Calculating the exact mixture is a tough task however. Do yourself a favor and read The Selfish Gene.

While I agree with most of this, one thing I found MASSIVELY helped me to lose weight was what I call the "Initial Stomach Shrink". AKA, minimizing the amount of food in your stomach by, well, eating minimally for 3-4 days. By the 5th day your stomach is literally willing to accept less food and maintain a similar level of hunger as before, whether that be bananas or chicken wings. But hey, that's just what worked for me.

Well, apparently "kids these days" aren't allowed to leave their houses to play outside alone until they reach the age of 12-14. I was born in the early 80s and was out running around the neighborhood all day alone by age 7. It's 100% true that the current generation is much, much more sheltered, which of course translates to less dating, less drug use, less sex...

It's actually incredibly cheap to make. Human males can, and do, make infinitely more sperm than is required to raise a large family, and do so well into old age. Eggs, on the othe hand, are extremely "precious" as women produce a finite amount and only during their fertile years, AND care for it after fertilization . Perhaps you're confusing the two? In fact, some biologists claim that the fundamental difference between sexes (in general, not just applicable to humans) is that males produce "ma…

If you really wanna go there, it can EASILY be argued that men are those now economically dependent and submissive. Why? Well despite the average man making more money than the average woman, women on average spend more of their partners' money than they do! Globally (patriarchal societies included), women account for 64% of spending decisions. The number is higher in developed countries. https://www.catalyst.org/research/buying-power/ There's certainly a stronger word than 'economic submissio…

What do you think my view is exactly? I think feminism is fundamentally flawed with their criticisms of womens' experiences in the workplace. I think the MRAs make the same mistake. While there are certainly improvements to be made on both sides of the spectrum, I think that in general, men and women in North America do what they want with their lives, relatively freely from social pressures. Almost every example of women's advantage over men, or vice versa, can be counteracted with an effective…

Well, as it turns out, SOME women do suffer the downfalls of heavy industrial work for the paycheck. Their restrictions, in North America (very crucial), are almost always self imposed. The first sentence of your last paragraph I agree with, though I'm curious what kind of changes you think women would bring to make life better 'in camp.' Sounds profoundly naive to me. Working at camp sucks ass, plain and simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/19 11:34 PM

I don't disagree with what you wrote at all. I'll point out that every mine or oil company that I deal with (a lot) is bending over backwards to hire women, and they still don't come en masse. I've heard and seen in my day many, many competent women leave their high paying jobs in the industrial technical fields, some probably due to the lack of comfort from being one of just a few women in the organization, others to start families, to be home more often, or any other number of personal reasons…

Why don't you ask a coherent question and address my arguments instead of your cheesy one-liners? How do you think I'm knocking women? I'm simply stating a fact that most women choose not to work in heavy industry. As I said before, I'm applying no judgment to such a decision. My judgment is reserved for those that claim women should be represented 50/50 in all lines of work. The fact is women and men don't choose the same lines of work, usually for personal reasons.

I'm not knocking women at all. How do you get that from my comments? In fact, I have nothing but respect for women working in difficult trades, for indeed they have the added complication of being one of few women there. Some can handle it, and some can't. As I mentioned before, I'm heavily involved in these industries. How did you possibly get that notion? Look. By your logic, nobody would be happy until everyone's a CEO. One with no responsibility and infinite pay, in fact. Such a thing does n…

What makes you think no men want to do these jobs? I consult for these industries regularly and nobody's jumping from the windows, not even the few women welders or millwrights I know. Now of course if something better, easier, higher paying, etc comes up they would switch, but that's always the case for anybody working any job.

As my last post on this topic: For lots of reasons. Not the least of which is that meeting girls isn't the be-all-end-all of life. You can meet girls on Tinder too, but I would never recommend someone download it. The last thing the modern man needs is more apps on his phone to distract him from becoming a quality, well rounded individual. On the contrary, the #1 thing almost all men need is a smaller computer/phone/social media presence in their lives.

/r/askTRP01/01/19 05:43 PM

Well, there's companionship with someone who you (hopefully) have a good rapport with. The right mix of tension/release and playfulness is a great thing. That comes around much more rarely than managing to bang some bar slut. The camaraderie involved with sharing common goals, with a common understanding, etc, is quite a nice change of pace. If you ever want to have kids (which I don't at the moment) then this is also basically a requirement. Do you really not see any benefits to relationships…

I think this is indicative of what many of us older gen had to deal with as youngins: flirting openly takes BALLS. Wow! A knock-down argument! Even if I was American, neither the Democratic nor Republican party would perfectly address my views. Which is apparently more than I can say for you given your above implication. Listen, tool (may I call you that?). The chances of any political party in the world 100% aligning with the views of any random citizen is as close to 0 as can get. So when you suggest that if one has any disagreements with, say, the Republican party, then they are therefore resolved to supp…

Original_Dankster, don't sully the noble work of the founders of liberalism by holding the word in such poor regard and using it as a pejorative. Further, my views on immigration, health care, education and the social safety net could in no way be considered 'right wing.' Not in the way that it currently borrows from liberalism, nor in the way it still holds remnants of traditional conservatism.
/r/askTRP27/09/18 09:17 PM

I suggest you read up on humanist liberalism. The works of Spinoza, Mill, Locke, Paine, Jefferson and the rest. I'll be the first to admit that leftists have recently overstepped their bounds. I believe I already did so. You may also be surprised to learn that you are, in fact, a liberal as it was originally defined, and that right wingers over the last few decades have moved to the left just like lefties... only not quite as far.

I was bred on (and still adhere to) what was once seen as the leftist ideals of individual rights, free speech, equal opportunity, and yes, the value of immigration, access to health care, a strong education system and support for the unemployed and the elderly. You may think that makes me a left winger and you may be right... though I'd consider myself a centrist. I'm certainly no right winger. And neither am I a fan of the social justice left as it has become today. But I appreciate what you'r…

Another (obvious to those familiar with TRP) issue is that of the ever expanding definition of rape. If both parties were drunk someone will say she couldn't consent, hence, rape. If she regrets it later or will fear that her friends will thinks she's a slut, again, rape. It is claimed that 'rape is rape.' Of course, this is undeniable, but certainly there are material differences between a horrifying violent assault and a situation where two people go home black-out-drunk and neither remembers …

'Put America first.' That literally means nothing. Neither you, nor I, nor anyone knows what that translates to in terms of policy. I can make a prognosis, however. That slogan translates to: JACK SHIT. Or worse. Cancelling trade agreements may seem like a great idea, but it's simply not going to make a difference, except to make the US less competitive. The manufacturing jobs aren't coming back because they're a thing of the past. Like typewriter salesmen that were no doubt hassling the govt to…

Ugh... I can't believe I'm actually responding to this... The president's job (to use your term) is for the most part to represent the people and the country as head of state. It is the president's job to act as a diplomat. The president doesn't have the authority to run a country like a CEO runs a business. Maybe, in your opinion, schmoozing up to the likes of Vladimir Putin is... i dunno... anti-establishment? I find it naive. Maybe you find making fun of cripples hilarious! I find it... just.…

The cure for bad democracy is good democracy. Not this bizarre obsession with anit-establishment. Thinking Trump is some kind of cure to this IS embarrassing. Know why? Look at some of his platform that he so blathers about so regularly. -Building a wall on the mexican border -Deporting ALL illegal immigrants You realize he's the nominee for a party who's pathologically afraid of raising taxes, right? How will this wall be built? The law enforcement in this country barely has the resources to go…

Are we talking about the same person? His speeches sound like they're directed towards twelve year olds. Which is part of his appeal to the "masses" in my view. Do you know the meaning of the word populace? Maybe you should look it up. And calling someone 'populistic' typically suggests that his views and platform aren't sincere, but held because of a prevailing public sentiment. It's not a good thing. How do you not know this but insist on attacking me for it?

If you think a Trump presidency will change ANY of that, I find your view profoundly naive.

FUCK this sub's obsession with Donald Trump. There, I said it. He's a profoundly unsophisticated populistic opportunistic megalomaniacal blowhard, and it's an embarrassment to the populace that he's managed to enthrall such a portion of the population. SHAME. I hope a year from now, we all look back with astonishment at how bizarre it is that we spent so long paying attention to this nobody... because it really is extremely, extremely, bizarre.

Well if you're going to use a neutered definition like that, then the word becomes meaningless. I think (and most people would agree) that for something to qualify as a religion, as opposed to a philosophy or world view, it needs some form of supernatural belief. There is no good evidence for such beliefs, which is why religious blowhards can't be trusted. Evidence based approaches consistently chip away at the assertions clergymen have pushed for centuries. Feminists do the same thing. Most of …

Sadly, in some places (such as the province of British Columbia) there are common law limits imposed for cohabitation. 2 years in my case. 2 years of living together and, with no legal agreement in place, she can decide to cheat and take half of your amassed assets from the time you moved in together. Edit: Lesson is.... sign your cohabitation agreements, kids!

Doesn't matter. The point is that, over the course of eons, natural selection favored women with those "choosier" traits. It's ingrained into them. AWALT. Similarly, since sperm is cheap and plentiful and a man can rear lots of offspring easily, natural selection favored men who sired many offspring by multiple partners. These days we certainly don't do it for the offspring but the reason males have the polygamous sexual impulse ingrained in us is this. Read "The Selfish Gene" by Richard Dawkins…

The answer to your question is involved but to summarize, modern science suggests it has something to do with the investment a female puts into reproduction (size of the egg, length of embryonic development, etc) vs the relative investment of a male (one of a gazzillion sperm available at his disposal.) It's fascinating and eye opening stuff. You should read anything about evolution and biology written within the last 40 years.

I was listening to CBC Radio the other day (the day after his lawyer handily proved that Lucy D from Trailer Park Boys was totally into the rough sex). Their guest was some SJW who proceeded to whine about how this trial is such a tragedy because of how scrutinized the complainants are, how this will surely discourage other victims of abuse from coming forward, and how by this trial being so public it forces victims of abuse to relive their own trauma. Now. I'm all for punishing abusers, rapists…

Well buddy... I'm no fan of religion to begin with but let me suggest simply that if some ancient ideas are causing you to struggle with your naturally evolved biological urges, then they are causing you harm. Bang this chick, but from the sounds of it she is NOT gf material. That's my advice.

Try this: http://illimitablemen.com/2014/12/14/the-shit-test-encyclopedia/ The hardest part is recognizing them... when they're just stupid questions that don't deserve answering. They're always questions that have an easy answer that you have to avoid. Once you answer a few correctly you'll get into the habit... but like I said, for now concentrate on noticing them... responding too aggressively may come off as a far too dramatic change. Ease it in.

My one comment would be to avoid heavily doing RP actions before you're really comfortable with yourself. Acting alpha before you're ready is 100% see through-able. Ease it in slowly. Slowly start recognizing when she gives you shit, holding your frame, and amplifying shit tests as a response or laughing them off. Slowly become the cool guy she wants to be fucking. The hardest part for me was the abundance mentality. You have to realize that you're the prize and that you have options if you're i…

Don't you think it's better to establish these RP values (even if somewhat - though I'd argue that - arbitrarily) into a relationship early is better than waiting until it devolves into something where the sudden change would be of seismic proportions? Leading to a Main Event, etc?

I didn't read all of it because of the formatting but I can say this: Your use of assertive tactics like telling her how to dress, ordering for her, grabbing her hair... you can't just bust out these moves willy-nilly. Believe it or not, some women actually don't have trouble with the menu. Only use the ordering for her if she's obviously having trouble with decisiveness. "Honey, you've been looking for 10 minutes.. why don't I narrow it down for you a bit"... amused. In charge. Forceful hair pu…

Id suggest not asking for a number straightup. I usually say, near the end of a conversation, "so we hangin out later or what?" It's easy and relaxed and directs her to give you the number without really having asked for it.
