Learning that you cannot control or influence someone's intentions. Wanting to "fix" someone is bs, that has to be internally motivated. You can be right and still not make people agree with you. It's kind of sad but also a huge relief.

There's a handful of French guys who are well raised, family oriented etc. But the worst of them are the lousiest, loudest and sleaziest guys and give all of them a terrible terrible look. Tbh avoiding french guys is smart, there's a lot of dating differences and communication issues that are there. British guys also suck. Sigh.

My E European friend met a guy like this. Romanian and russian haven't got much overlap and he realised she wasn't falling for his shitty jokes because she was much funnier. It was cringe.

Have you drawn up a list of what he's bringing to the table versus what your expectations were? It's a little hard to do from inside a relationship tbh, but it might help clear up if you're happy with him or if there's something missing. If this is more of an insecurity issue, question deeply where that insecurity is coming from and try to tackle it. To me it sounds like he's a decent guy and I wouldn't want to throw that away because of past relationship trauma.

Kids are gooey and they need too much. I love being around them for about three hours, that's enough. Pets and plants for me.

Dating at 18 is a waste of time. Worse, it might get in the way of personal growth, pursuing career plans or your dreams. Develop more social skills with friends, flirt a little with guys if you want practice, but most men you'll meet for the next 7 odd years will not be worth the hassle. You've got so much to focus on right now and dudes are last on that list. Dudes are always last on that list tbh. Vibrators and cats seems like a much better option.

Yes! This sounds like the beginning of a montage where you start doing the things you want and need to do, and at the end of it the lady who walks out is unrecognisable and very happy! Good for you, never tolerate being treated like second best 💖

Tbh I'd rather have teen girls figuring out what they like in the safety of their own bedrooms then going out and potentially putting themselves in danger. As long as they're not recommending anything outside of perfectly vanilla this seems fine. Edit: Advertising it is a bit awkward, but at the same time girls ae going to be curious and giving them info through the magazine is probably better than the depraved porn sites most boys "learn about sex" from.

If hormonal birth control is something you want then go with the pill, or you can get an implant that I believe last 1-2 years. You can also get a hormonal IUD which also lasts 2 years and lightens periods. Non hormonal options include a copper IUD (which lasts five years or more), a cap (the female condom), and spermicidal creams. On top of these it is best to always use condoms as they protect against sexually transmitted diseases, which none of the other methods do. Personally I like the IUD …

Men have a choice over having a baby or not: it's making sure him and his partner are on birth control BEFORE having sex. If you don't want to wrap it up then face the consequences.

The full "How to lose a guy in 10 days" method. Old classic! Ask for his mother's phone number so you "can get to know my new mom!" For real though, I don't think you need to say much beyond "I'm not feeling a spark, sorry". If they keep pushing then it's block time.

Men definitely have a worse time, especially OLD. Most barely ever match, have bots, don't get to a date.... That being said men also in general overestimate their looks/personality/general attractiveness and most are LV. Always vet according to FDS principles.

You can't. Most use it because 1. They don't know how else to hold a conversation with women online 2. They're just horny not looking for a relationship 3. My friend I am absolutely romantic and was in the same boat. Like others have said, it sounds a bit like the love that's missing from your life should come from inside, from you, not from a fantasy man who will make you whole. Temper your romantic daydreams with the knowledge that they are projections. It sounds cold and unromantic, but it's very important to understand idealising love and true, real life romance are two different things. Don't try and cover up your hurt and your feelings with a…

It takes 30 days to form a new habit, I'm sure you've heard that a lot. You could combine the weight and hobby issue by taking a little time to pick out a couple of physical cookbooks. If he can't stop himself gaming and knows it's a problem, then it's his responsibility to change that. Possibly on campus counseling might help if you have it. Either way he's an addict now it's affecting his grades negatively. If he doesn't want to change enough, you're going to be stuck with a bum. If he can't realise this, you're going to have to cut him loose.

He's basically saying he's not attracted to people except after a certain amount of time. Tbh that sounds pretty reasonable. Why would he want girls that he's just said he's not attracted to to ask him out then? He had no problem asking her out once he worked out he liked her. "Paying rent" to a bf to pay off the mortgage is a terrible idea. He's charging you to live in a house he owns. Funniest thing to do would be to carry on with your single life, stop even trying to talk to this guy and see how long it takes him to realise you're not his gf anymore. Actual advice is yes he's stringing you along, cut him out and find someone who actually enjoys your company.

I agree with the others that you should trust your gut feeling. Something's not clicking and you can't beat yourself up over not feeling a certain way. Also him saying he loves you so quickly is concerning imo. There's a big difference between being emotionally aware and letting yourself be run by temporary feelings and he seems to fall on the wrong side of that.

I have several male friends. It works because they're either gay, family or in commited relationships to women I'm also friends with. Platonic friendships where the guy is single rarely work (unless you've known them since childhood, and even then). A lot of men don't give the time of day to women they don't find attractive, so they'll often have other intentions from the start.

I just want to add that a lot of people transitioning off porn completely are better off going cold turkey completely and "resetting" for a month. This is because your brain is so used to the stimulus from extreme images that vanilla/less strong porn is not going to do it and you'll be left thinking of the violent porn that got you going. Ah that's true, I'm sorry, I should have been more cautioned in what I wrote. Just because they're gay doesn't make them automatically not misogynists. They also have to be a good person with the same social skills you would expect in a female friend (aka knowing better than to grab you/make degrading comments about women etc.). What I meant was because of the lack of attraction, they have at least the potential to meaningfully be a friend. Apologies again.

She's hurting because she knows what you're saying is right imo. She's lashing out defensively. If you've said your piece about how she's being treated and she responds like that, then distance from her. She's still making excuses for him, try and persuade her of some FDS things like not allowing a man to yell abuse at you. I don't like telling women to cut off women friends without trying to convince them first. If she stands by her man though, then maybe the friendship isn't for the best rn.

Places like r/NoFap (idk if that's what it's stilled called) are the only ones that acknowledge the mental harm porn does to its users. Just think of how annoying it would be unpacking all your stuff just for him to stop pulling his weight. You've been there before, but now you're on a new path and there's no room for dead weight. You've got this!

At the end of the day, she's made a choice (I assume she wasn't trafficked because of the video, but perhaps she was and in that case no hate) to work in an industry that tells men women's bodies are up for sale. We all know "look don't touch" doesn't work on men. Needing money is one thing, but putting a video up on tiktok where the people most likely to see it are kids is extremely irresponsible. I just hope she puts some money into savings or into getting further education and training for a …

For a week he left his son heartbroken. For five entire days he ignored his infant daughter's discomfort. He treats the dog like a "thing". All because he feels entitled to. These are big red flags. This will escalate. She needs to get in touch with her family and work out alternative care, at the bare minimum.

Oh god, John is making me want to post the tinder profile where the guy literally had a side to side picture with Elliot Rodger. Both real Lady Killers, amirite :')

Imagine wanting a guy to ask whether you like choking/slapping/gagging/anal/CNC before going ahead and doing it... Porn is an absolute disease that rots the brain.

Be upfront. If he doesn't meet up to your standards, the strain is going to show and best case scenario he'll take himself out early or show his true colors.

Vera Wang looks after herself, we should all aim to look as great as she does at 70, but you can do a hell of lot in photoshop without copy paste ; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc-rYnE6CGU (The title of this video sucks, but basically it's a very old lady being photoshopped to have zero wrinkles. The end result doesn't look that far from the photo of Vera's skin tbh) Anyway no hate, the important thing is the Wall is total bs and 100% on that. Scrotes dying to look half as good. Beer gut errywh…

Yeah this is extremely photoshopped though. If you look at less edited pictures, she still looks fantastic, but she doesn't look in her 20s either lol. Posting heavily photoshopped pictures as an achievable goal isn't fair! No filters in real life!

Exactly this. If being in a relationship isn't significantly better than being single, then why put up with the downsides?

Have you tried dating his brother? The one with his life together? Just kidding, but for real though, if you've been going out this long, you more than anyone should know if he's really likely to change. Ignore how you've felt about him in the past and try as objectively as possible to ask yourself if the person you're dating now is the person you want to spend your life with, raise kids with (if that's what you want), have at your side. Not a fantasy of an improved man, but the one he is right …

I stumbled across this sub looking for general dating advice and loved it. I finally found a place where women talk about having relationships with men in ways that aren't intrinsically degrading to themselves. Finding this community has been so helpful! And realising I'm not the weird one for wanting commitment, a real partner, sex on my own terms with someone who loves me not just giving my body away. You don't have to be the cool girl or put up with men treating you with disrespect. I used to…
