I'm feeling really afraid and vulnerable. I hope this is a safe space to share, I truly hope it is.

I think I'm the victim of sexual coercion. It even scares me saying it. I've been trying for months to name the uneasy feeling within me, try understand why I was suddenly having a low libido and no interest in sex (or even pleasuring myself) when before I had a healthy appetite for both.

Since lockdown, my boyfriend and I decided to hole up at mine and he could go back to his when needed as he lives alone and could self-isolate safely. In hindsight this was a bad idea. First week was great but then I noticed he would touch me a lot and kiss me even when I noticeably pulled away when I wasn't in the mood. Sometimes I would have to end up putting some strength in my push to push him away and he finally would stop.

About 3 times now I can clearly recall, while we have been doing things like watching TV or just talking in bed, started rubbing himself and saying I turn him on so much. Pulling me towards him and asking for sex. I've said no several times and he has kept pushing until I finally gave in. The first time we started having sex and I was clearly just going through the motions, at one point I even almost started crying (I was having a UTI and it was painful down there hence saying no to sex initially) and he finally stopped then asked what was wrong. When I told him I didn't want to have sex, he berated me for doing it and (very 'lovingly') said I don't have to have sex if I don't want to and that was it. He was talking softly, rubbing my arms and gave me a gentle cuddle. It left me confused.

The second time he asked for sex repeatedly and I eventually started giving him a blowjob. He then said "climb on top of me" and I sighed and looked crestfallen but he kept pulling me up towards him and I just did. Again he noticed I wasn't "there" and asked what was wrong and I directly said "you know I didn't want to have sex" and he said "well you didn't have to, I didn't ask you for sex". I repeated exactly what he had said moments ago then he denied it but kept rubbing himself and pressuring until I finished him off with a blowjob. Third time was after he asked for a back massage, turned around then asked me to massage "his front". I sighed and shoulders slumped. I didn't even have the wherewithal or strength to say no so I just gave him a hand job.

In all these occasions he noticed my discomfort, he wasn't mean or forceful. He wasn't rude or abusive. He just seemed like a horny man who excused it by saying he's so attracted to me and I turn him on. Yet I gave in. The rest of the relationship was good and he was all the things I wanted..kind, attentive, made effort to look after me. I'm clearly suffering some cognitive dissonance!

I asked him to leave a week ago and didn't explain why. I just said I needed my space. I don't intend to have him here again though he has texted like nothing is wrong. I've just found out about sexual coercion literally an hour ago and I have been reading articles nonstop. It all fits with what I went through and why I felt this way about the relationship when once I was quite excited about it and positive as it had the initial hallmarks of being something good in time.

I just needed to let this all out. I've been an FDSer for months and thought with all my past life and relationship experience could handle myself and have clear boundaries. Abuse doesn't have to be a slap in the face or a direct mean word said. I don't know how to repackage myself or where to turn to right now.

TLDR: Sexually coerced. Feel like shit.

Edit: Thank you all for taking time to comment, the comments mean a lot and reaffirm what I was already feeling. I'm quite upset that it's so common and women just take it, like I have done. I feel this really needs to be spoken about as a topic in the FDS handbook. We don't discuss sex and appropriate sex enough esp for the younger FDSers. I'm in my 30s and clearly still have so much to learn.

I'm struggling to sleep and have had a few anxiety attacks since I posted this. Other things in the relationship are starting to just glare at me...twice I said something he didn't like or made him jealous and he pinched me hard enough I yelped in pain then he would say "oh sorry it wasn't meant to hurt that much", another time he pulled me by the arm so hard I told him to stop hurting me. He's slapped my butt very painfully and randomly while in the kitchen then when I showed it and said it hurt again said "sorry it wasn't meant to hurt that much". Not sure what he expected when a grown man puts his weight into a slap. I don't know, a lot of things swirling in my mind and making me just feel horrible that I allowed it.

I am so so so grateful for this sub and being given warmth and a safe space to share.
