How do I put an end to excessive compliments?

If a man does that, I personally would be too creeped out to continue the conversation... but if you want to, then either:

just ignore the compliment. Don't thank them, don't acknowledge it, pretend that message doesn't exist, or
respond "I know" and/or "Yes you told me [X] times, you can stop now".

The latter option is more preferable so you can see how they react - some men can think that the more they give compliments the more they are entitled to your gratitude and affection (*eye roll*).

Yeah if you feel it’s insincere then it is. They’re just horny. Usually I just ghost/unmatch. But if I’m feeling spicy, I reply “tell me something I don’t know 🙄”, see their reaction, and then ghost/unmatch no matter what their reaction is. They’ve already proven their worthlessness by sending horny compliments in the first place.

I completely filter out the guys who mention my appearance. Just ignore or unmatch. They should have something more interesting to say than "you're beautiful" like how is that an acceptable way to start a conversation??

Imagine what a real and well intentioned compliment feels like: take a deep breath and savor that.

Then compare with the meaningless shit that rolls outta men’s mouths while they clamor for your attention because they believe flattering comments on your appearance will get them sexual access.

So then consider this: are these men actually complementing you? If it feels fake and excessive is it your job to school them (especially since they know exactly what they are doing)? How will telling lying assholes who are trying to flex and leverage sex what’s up benefit you? Is it even worth your while?

Let’s be real, since MEn ArE ViSUaL it’s obvious they find you attractive. And insincere flattery doesn’t happen in some over excited- I’m-so-lucky-a-goddess-speaks-to-me vacuum. Nope. Like all lying sycophants their just trying to extract something out of you.

Throw the whole man out and start over.

I unmatch when that happens. Like yes everyone loves a nice compliment but can we have a conversation?? Pls. And it just shows they’re empty headed tbh

I simply move on. I never respond to "hi beautiful" messages. When all they can talk about is how I look, I unmatch and forget them.

Years ago, I was on a date with a guy who the entire date, all he kept doing was gaze at me and tell me how pretty I am. When I tried to change the subject and started getting annoyed with saying "thank you" every few minutes, he changed over to, I bet you dont evne know how beautiful you are, do you have low self esteem? you seem uncomfortable hearing it, Im going ot make sure you know how beautiful you are. FMFL!!!!! Shut up!!

After that, I was done. I like genuine compliments, but if the first and only thing a guy has to say about me is related to my looks, I want nothing to do with him. You cant change them, you can only move on and find a guy who isnt weird.

I have a no compliment rule. They aren’t allowed to compliment me- and I tell them so. This will Stop 90% of the crap that comes out of their mouth and requires them to start a conversation without trying to flatter me.

You don't change men. You ignore, block, delete the men you don't like. Take them as they are. If you don't like him then stop talking to him.

You can't. Most use it because 1. They don't know how else to hold a conversation with women online 2. They're just horny not looking for a relationship 3. They think it's how to win you over without actually having to do anything.

Talked to two men who would. not. stop. giving compliments that were totally devoid of meaning ("you're so cute, you're so smart,..." 😷) When I said it made me uncomfortable and stopped the conversation they would stop for two minutes and start again. Grown men should be able to hold a conversation. Just block and move on, for me it's a red flag now.
