Why stop at good enough?

Use the mindset that everyone in there is your friend and your happy to be around them and see them. Be friendly and strike up conversations. Start by something specific to the situation, maybe what they're wearing or drinking, or about what's going on around in the bar they might be involved with. Then you can branch out into other things about what they do or wear they're from (I try not to ask where they live because that comes across creepy, even if I don't mean their address).

That's okay, I did too. I would read everything I could. Getting in shape built a ton of confidence for me, plus it was how I built my social circles. I used to have a ton of podcasts saved in a folder and would re listen to the ones I felt were most helpful. The early jordan harbinger art of charm podcasts, Neil strauss interviews (sometimes it's not about the content, but listening to how other people talk to women effectively), there was one guy who had a series that I can't remember his name…

I think they go hand in hand, but it's more important just to do SOMETHING. Go out, make mistakes, learn from them, keep moving forward, try again, learn new information from external/internal sources. I ended up dedicating about 2 years of my life to it and improving myself in all ways possible because I was fed up with where I was, and it ended up paying off more than I could have imagined from the onset.

I occasionally browse this sub to check in with what's been going on lately and if anything has changed. I used to be a regular 10 years ago and really needed this information and a kick in the pants. I think about doing a 10 years later type write up sometimes. This is a really good post and pretty accurate. A lot of this was what was effective for me too. Inner game is superior to the PUA nonsense, although I do think it's important to learn that as well and even experiment with it so you can …

Do you have other interests outside of graduate school? Those corny things are great ways to expand your network and open up your pool of potential high quality women, not just those in the groups, but friends and family members of them as well. And why are you worried about being "that guy" for those things?

I have become more family oriented so one of my goals is to find a woman by the end of next year and see where that goes with her. That's good to have in your mind. It seems you have done all of the right things in terms of improving yourself and having strong inner game in order to attract another valuable person. But remove the time pressure. I may be interpreting what you wrote wrong, but don't put an artificial ticking clock to find a woman to start a family by next year. Others may disagree…

Thanks again. Glad I posted this. Not that it's a deal-breaker either way, but wouldn't it help reduce the flakiness possibility? Although, I do like the idea of her driving out to meet me while I'm already there without having asked her.

Mentally, emotionally, eh. It's a good learning experience, don't think I can go wrong here. Physically? Possibly. You can damn be sure if I get a chance I'll be wrapping extra tight. Maybe learn a thing or two haha.

Thanks, that's good advice. Except I imagine the voice in my head is gonna be telling me, "TOUCHHERBOOB"....... jk. Also, one aside. I've generally tried to keep texting minimal as a rule (don't want to appear too available and have her know me more for the guy in person). What's your stance on the date-eve text as a reminder? I was planning on sending one before the date tomorrow.
/r/seduction03/10/12 12:55 AM

I've definitely been working a balance in our texts. It's obvious she's trying to get me to react to her photos, but I've just been nonchalant and dropping hints elsewhere. Listening is probably good advice; I think most guys in this situation would just try to sell themselves and brute through it. That's my biggest plus, I just need to figure out to get some natural kino in at a restaurant. As far as the resume padding.....hmmm, I think it's more for my inner game than showing off. I've only to…

So I don't think I have a problem with creepiness in any way. In fact, I believe my problem is going too far in the other direction. When I talk to girls initially, it usually takes on a goofy, hyuk-hyuky vibe. It works fine at first and at least gets them to know me, but I think they become bored with it pretty quick. That, and I notice their eyes dart away and they look distracted. Maybe I'm looking to much into it, but it's different then when they first meet me for the first 10-20 seconds. H…

For night game, I recommend sitting at the bar and just casually chatting to as many people as you can in good spirits. Get into a warm, friendly vibe and eventually branch out to more adventurous settings. Day game should follow a similar pattern. Warm up by chatting it up with your barista or clerk, then complimenting someone on something noticeable to add value to them, and then approach those who you truly are interested in. You should also check out Kurt Spelling's free stuff. It's more inn…

I actually think girls WANT to be able to have the guy be the douche bag so they CAN tell their friends about it. If she sleeps around with a super nice guy who ends up not wanting anything further with her, then it reflects on HER shortcomings and HER doing something wrong and being unable to keep the guy. Conversely, if the guy was a total prick then she can lay all the blame on HIM for not being a decent guy and leading her wrong. It gives her a built-in excuse for one night stands that absol…

There's usually almost no attachment with one-nighters. My topic was for girls I spend time building rapport with, get laid, then them getting upset when I don't want to be exclusive.

don't be afraid to push the envelope. This. If you've never tried it before, it's really a world-changer. I was used to just escalating and advancing really slowly until one time, I had a girl over after going for a run. I laid down on the bed, turned on a music DVD, asked her to cuddle, went for a kiss, started feeling, sealed the deal. Each one of those escalations normally would take me a few nights of hanging out, but I just said fuck it and went for it. It works, plus it feels great to stre…

YES!!! I just heard something similar a few nights ago. The thing is, I'm really attracted to her psychologically as well. She does a lot for me, like take care of me and buys me things and cooks for me. I escalated hardcore and dry humped her for a while. But she wouldn't go all the way and demanded to be exclusive before we went any further. That would've been fine, but then she said she probably would have if she wasn't mentally attracted to me as well. That really hurt because it felt like s…

Wouldn't like it if she was bringing other guys around, but dating them on her own time is cool with me. It may even be a good thing because then we'd get the message that she's in casual mode.

UPDATE: She stopped by with a friend and really was just stopping by. They were headed to the friend's family's. She dropped off some extra goodies for me and chatted for a bit, but that was it. I told her what I was planning on (movie-time) and she reacted to it. I'm not tremendously calibrated, but I think it was a "I would have been down"-type reaction, though I'm not sure exactly, it certainly was a reaction. What if I want to fool around but she might be likely to get attached? Should I plow through force of frame-of-mind or yield and just move on? This topic was spurred by a text where she mentioned "romance" for the first time. I'm kind of flabbergasted about how to respond properly and delicately.

Definitely. It's amazing to me that when I first met her, I thought she was a 7.5. Now after getting to know here more, I see her as a 6, maybe even a 5, and I personally don't feel any attraction to her. It just goes to show how much personality can really affect attraction despite the stereotypes about physical appearance.

She took me out both times, it was her ideas and suggestions, her place, her money, her transportation. I didn't all of a sudden stop talking to her either, I basically stayed at the same rate of texting while she doubled what I considered was already a inappropriately high amount. Like I said, I always try to follow "Do onto others." Believe me, I've tried seeing it from her angle many different times. Thanks man. I was thinking of just telling her that she's sending me too many texts and that I think shes contacting me too much next time. I can't tell if she's not getting the hint, or if she's getting it and just trying to plow through it anyways. I'm not new to women, but kind of new to Pickup. This stuff really is dynamite. I'd recommend listening to "sexy" music a lot in your spare time, especially before you go to meet up with a girl. It helps you get that vibe going and comfortable with it. Definitely have to be comfortable touching a girl, so start practicing kino when you can. Be on the lookout for double entendres to let her know you're thinking about it too. Don't say "that's what she said!" hurhurhur. Just make a face, lean in, and smile and let it be known that you caught it.

Hrmm....well I don't think I "blew it" or "dropped the ball." I rebuffed a number of offers to hang out or come over. I pretty much ignored her texts the week before and was quite distant. In fact, I was pretty much an asshole to her, so this stuff kinda works jk ;) Should I stay the course with the limited contact/emotional distance? Or do I need to have a forced, awkward heart-to-heart?

Try to describe as many senses of the experience as possible (how things looked, sounded, felt, smelt, or tasted). Also helpful is the W's of reporting (who, what, when, where, why, hoW). Finally, you're telling a STORY, which means there should be elements of a beginning, middle, and end; some adversity; and a moral or lesson learned. Bonus tip: use language that is appropriate for your audience. If they're loose with cuss words, slip in a few swear words as multipliers. If they're more intelle…

Interesting, very positive. It follows a philosophy I used to have for myself years ago when I would tell everyone that it was good to feel anxious and nervous about something because it means you actually care about it. This is even more important since will and drive can sometimes be more important than natural ability or being in the right setting (sometimes, not always). I certainly reframe it now: to me, it's akin to seeing someone and your heart becoming "all aflutter." Same feelings, diff…

That's a great point, I had some thoughts that it wasn't conducive to pickup. I have to say though, it's great for casual conversation and business engagements. It's probably geared more for work than pleasure. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to merge this with "game," but it helps with confidence in general.

Pickup generally isn't for introverts is the impression I'm getting. BTW, I think introversion/extraversion is fungible anyways. You can slide and adjust yourself along the spectrum, you just have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable for a little while.
/r/seduction26/06/11 08:01 PM

True that. It's just with barchicks I have the mentality that I can do anything and never see her again, whereas with someone from work/school I think, "Hmm, if I fuck up, I'll see her all the time and she'll act differently towards me."

Kino. I'm terrible with it so whenever it does happen, I react unnaturally. It stemmed from a few bad kino moments I had years ago and I got by without it just fine. I've been trying to improve it lately by being more kino with friends and family members by making arm contact and giving a lot of hugs and high-fives. I foresee many circumstances where punching would be involved. I wouldn't worry how the girls react, "Well, he GAVE me his drink." "I was thirsty." But you're stoking a AMOG to exert himself and asking for confrontation. I'd probably offer to buy him another drink right after, but then wouldn't buying him a drink be even more of a bitch move then just holding his drink in the first place?

That sounds like a much better comeback. What if he would have pressed though? "Come on man, it'll just take a second." There was a fairly sizable crowd by the bar that he would have had to push through to set down. Chugging the guy's drink is just asking for a problem.
