Feminism is not a monolith. There is standard ideology taught in the name of this ideology, which at least 99% of people who use the term support. Such as "men are privileged over women" and "gender is a social construct invented out-of-nothing by woman-hating men in ancient times in order to help all men and hurt all women - damn the science".

Women feel less safe (instinctually and due to social conditioning) arising from the fact that they have much less physical strength than men. However, men feel bad about physically harming women (instinctually and due to social conditioning going back millenia at least). Men are each other's competition, and we don't feel anywhere near as bad about physically harming another man if we're convinced he deserved it and it was necessary.

Laura Ingraham ... is against gay marriage That was 2009. So was Obama in 2009. Most elected Democrats were, in 2009. I don't get why conservatives would frequent Men's Rights subreddits The only reason I became a conservative (former moderate Democrat), and the main reason I remain strongly for conservatism, is to fight against feminist ideology, after I learned about it in late 2012 / early 2013. Sure, I've warmed up to most of their other ideas since, and I've always been against Socialism/Co…

Ben Shapiro ... said men shouldn't be allowed not to get married. Source? That sounds like an over-simplified paraphrasing. I could give you an infinite supply of sources showing you that they are, in fact, strongly against radical feminism. Care to see a few? Yes please. Alright, here's a start to the "infinite list". I could find countless more if you want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrhHkQhglig (Fox News doing an entire pro-MRA weekly segment) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHlNfpni6oM …

It's definitely easy to be frustrated with common negative behaviors and attitudes of women, especially in recent years. I sure am. It's normal to hate "negative femininity", as with any anti-social behavior, especially when it's directed against you or negatively affects you. But as a straight man, it's hard not to like "positive femininity", as rare as it's becoming.

I would be interested in seeing sources for those claims. what you're calling "Traditional, natural, pre-modern society" Karen Straughan (one of the most popular MRA figures) did a great video explaining what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqEeCCuFFO8&feature=youtu.be&t=4m59s

Nevertheless, it's what we have. There's no escaping its results, especially with an incumbent election. One of the two main parties is 100% guaranteed to win. Best to support the least-bad, rather than chase the impossible.

Haha, I think with that comment he was just speaking "off-the-cuff", and trying to emphasize that he likes women. It was a stupid comment. If he said it multiple times and/or expounded upon it in that direction, that would be cause for alarm. Look at the overall track record, and especially at the party that he gives power to by holding the executive branch (and the radicals he holds out of power). I'm not saying he's perfect. I voted against him in the primary, for Kasich. But he's what we've g…

pro first & second amendment That alone is all you need to be strongly against the left. Because the left has become strongly against both of those amendments. Show me your evidence how he's antifeminist, and I'll show you evidence he's gynocentric. Being against feminist ideology and being gynocentric are not mutually exclusive. Feminism is "gynosupremacy". Traditional, natural, pre-modern society works out being gynocentric out of necessity and inevitability. Of course, it's not necessary anym…

If you're implying the GOP is not in support of radical feminism...I'm not so sure. I could give you an infinite supply of sources showing you that they are, in fact, strongly against radical feminism. Care to see a few? And even in the hypothetical (and untrue) case that they were neutral on the subject: neutral would be a hell of a lot better than "rabidly and unchangeably for it,…

I'm mainly complaining about the "Pay Gap" dishonesty (and indirect promotion of radical feminism). But a lot of the ideology relating to trans people is also anti-scientific bullshit, and based on radical feminism (social constructionism, etc).

that kind of change is more effective on a social/local scale You underestimate just how much power the Executive Branch has to influence society. I realized recently: every major outbreak of radical feminist ideology in American society has happened when a Democrat was president. This time it started immediately after Obama's re-election - and this time they got so entrenched that the outbreak is still getting worse 3 years after Obama's term ended. You're on the MRA sub, so I'm assuming you support MRA ideas. One party wants to shove radical feminism in everyone's faces 24/7, and make it literally illegal to disagree with it. They've had a great deal of success in this in the past several years. The other party does not have this goal, and is largely opposed to it. Which party should you vote for? It's important to support the lesser of two evils (if that's how you see it).

Right, I meant "different at all", rather than "completely different". You can't argue that society is structured exactly the same as 200 years ago. Most women today go to college and have careers, and a large percentage (probably a large majority) of them keep their careers rather than becoming full-time mothers.

I thought I was alone to feel that way Nah, it's very obvious. And I've definitely seen this expressed at least a few times in popular posts/comments on r/The_Donald (and thedonald.win).

We still do all that (minus the USSR). But now we also do this other crap. If they keep it up, the good stuff will likely decline.
/r/MensRights28/03/20 04:50 PM

Well that's really just common sense. Men and women are physically much different. All the talk about "equality meaning women need to be enlisted" is really about pointing out flaws in the "logic" of feminists. Pre-modern society was the way it was because it was impossible for it to be any other way on a wide scale without modern technology - especially birth control, fast food, domestic appliances, desk jobs, and firearms. Karen Straughan has a great video explaining all of this.

You're talking about when there are one or two "diversity hire" women. But when they get so much "diversity" that it's 100% "diversity hire" women, there's nobody there to pick up the pieces.

Oh, yeah, I thought I had mentioned to you: search doesn't work right directly on DropBox. You had to download. I think the political landscape has changed drastically since just a few years ago. More and more republicans in congress appear to have realized the stakes and realized they need to be more aggressive against the newly-(openly)radicalized left. Look at Ted Cruz for example. He used to seem like the typical establishment republican, not doing much. Now he's very Trump-like.
/r/MensRights28/03/20 05:28 AM

Hmm, not sure what's going on with your computer. I just searched again: "woke" shows up 1 time, "privilege" 2 times, "implicit bias" 10 times. Yes, gender bias is a real thing - but mostly in favor of women, according to science: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15491274 https://www.bipartisanalliance.com/2018/07/men-women-more-strongly-blamed-men-for.html Going "full sjw" sounds like hyperbole. Skim the whole thing. It's full of both direct and indirect radical feminist ideology.

There was not a majority of non-leftist judges in the Supreme Court, and the Senate majority wasn't big enough. Also, think of all the bad things that didn't happen during that time that would have happened if the Democrats had those majorities - just look at 2018 and on - and that's just when they have the House. Also, the fact that it only held 2 years limited how much of a long-term effect could be had.
/r/MensRights28/03/20 04:39 AM
5

But what about a total Republican majority takeover of elected government? What if the house, senate, presidency, and supreme court all end up Republican or majority-Republican this November, and stays that way for a decade? What if like 40% of the population refuses to give any money to media and companies that promote SJW?
/r/MensRights28/03/20 02:37 AM

I need to watch that movie / read the book. I've seen Animal Farm. Well it makes sense, given that 1984 was based on real-life Communist totalitarian society, and leftists are Communists/Marxists.

Seems like a bad idea. This stuff is all very hypocritical - we have laws saying the government isn't allowed to impose political ideas on us - yet somehow, they seem to make an exception for far-left SJW ideology in the past several years.

Except pre-modern society wasn't "engineered". It developed naturally out of necessity and inevitability. The only reason it can be at all different today is because of modern technology: birth control, fast food, domestic appliances, desk jobs, firearm defense rather than brute strength. Karen Straughan has a good talk on this.

What you're leaving out of this equation: women gain the same level of deference and respect as a likable man who's a good leader by being attractive and a good leader / demonstrating competency. At least in the modern era, it has nothing to do with being male or female - rather, it has to do with looking good for your gender + being likable and a good leader and demonstrating competency/expertise.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 09:46 PM
25

That's true. I skimmed this document, and it says at several parts that professors must avoid encouraging a poorly-performing female engineering student from switching majors. It's saying to encourage people who do not have the proper mind and skills for engineering to become engineers. That's a potent recipe for things like the Challenger/Columbia shuttle explosions and the Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse. Or, if I were to hop into a time machine: "The Orion Capsule Explosion Disaster" of 2039. …

Only if we don't reverse this trend before the late 2030's. Doesn't matter if the first person happens to be, but what would matter is the reason. At this point, all we can do is vote out leftists, boycott woke companies, make tactful arguments, and do everything possible to tactfully let people know that woke beliefs are not normal and not logical/scientific.

I avoid these subjects with other people in the organization, for fear of it adversely affecting my employment. But I've gotten hints dropped that my team leader finds this stuff silly and is probably a conservative, and I know another coworker is a conservative. And I know a few other people who are probably conservatives. On the other hand, I also know a a few other people that I've worked with who are at the very least just fine with it, and a few who definitely believe it.

Based on my life experience as a 34 year old, I do think this is mostly a new thing in the past few years. Before 2012 I had no idea that Feminism still even existed outside of history books, and I had never heard any of their buzzwords like "misogyny", "sexism", "patriarchy", etc. Now this is constantly thrown in our faces by the mainstream media and random other mainstream organizations, I often run into women who are into this ideology, and I rarely encounter a women who expresses any particu…

Good point - didn't notice that. Still a dramatic gender difference, just based on the numbers. Also I didn't make the graphs - I don't work for Emmerson or reportablenews.com.

I'm pretty sure this level of gender polarization is unprecedented - never this extreme before the current "SJW era".
/r/MensRights13/03/20 03:42 AM

Because it shows that males and females have become extremely polarized in terms of which political party they support. And I'm sure you've experienced how absolutely horrible feminist women act towards any man who doesn't completely agree with the ideology. It didn't used to be like this. And the only logical explanation for this polarization is feminism pushing men away and taking advantage of women's in-group gender bias.

The problems are the (likely willful) misconceptions and one-sidedness, how it encourages promiscuity and therefore the destruction of the family (which in turn increases crime and mental issues, and causes the gradual devolution of the human gene pool) (and encourages STDs), and how at the end it lies about what Feminism means to make it look good to uninformed people.

People who care enough to visit this subreddit and who know about this subreddit are marginal. But the percentage of men who are bothered by SJWs and modern feminists is huge. Just look at the 'like' counts on comments on articles on these subjects. I mean, a lot of what Feminism teaches is the opposite of common sense, as in "things that every single person generally learns through experience early in life, and which is constantly reinforced throughout life experiences". Advertising for airports? I'm confused. I did a search and saw nothing like that. But that's irrelevant. My post was about how they promote feminist ideology, and are trying to gain a foothold on a popular news website.

Exactly. But RCP itself has been very good. And their email newsletter with "dueling headlines" between conservative and leftist articles from various sources seems to slightly prioritize the anti-leftist links, and the anti-leftist links are very good. And the articles they write on their own page are usually conservative / anti-leftist. They just need to be strongly dissuaded from continuing to give InsideHook its own sidebar. And InsideHook needs to be left to die off.

I think it's a lot simpler than this. Leftists / Progressives promote this stuff for two reasons: 1.) With the younger women who promote it, it comes down to trying to maximize female societal power at the expense of men, because they want to "tame" the 10/10 males they're all chasing but unable to get commitment from. Essentially, they're trying to actually artificially oppress men to get what they want from them (commitment from the top 20%, left alone or served by the other 80%). Many of them…

But that's not true though. It's defined by what's universally taught in Gender Studies / Women's Studies departments. Sure, one can be a casual "pop feminist" and be as you described. But this can only happen as a result of having very limited knowledge of what "feminism" actually means today as an ideology. What it means as an ideology today directly contradicts basic science, basic common sense, basic understanding of history (especially the development of technology and its impact on society), and vilifies, misrepresents, and stereotypes all men. All "strains" of feminism that have any power or influence tod…

None of those people had abnormally large chin fat Interesting... so it's become so common that it's been normalized to you - you don't even realize there's anything wrong with it. You're immersed in it, so it's all you see, so it seems normal. But it didn't used to be normal. Even 10-to-15 years ago, a thin young adult with hanging neck fat was very rare. Now - as you said - it's common. Which technically means it IS "normal", meaning "similar to how the average person is" - but it's NOT normal…

Weight and double-chin size are connected, yet partially independent. If you have the genetics for any fat under your chin at all, then the more weight you gain the more double chin you'll have. But, everyone has a different starting point and propensity. There are two factors that determine one's starting point and propensity for it to grow: 1.) Amount of fat cells under chin, 2.) Skin elasticity. Some people start out with a lot of fat cells underneath their chin, just waiting to expand when t…

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm talking about people who have thin bodies, yet have big double chins like you would normally only expect a morbidly-obese person to have. I find this much more worrying, because a person who's obese can become a normal weight through diet and exercise (even if it may be very difficult for some), but if you're thin with a double chin there's nothing you can do about it (short of plastic surgery) - it's genetic.
/r/MensRights31/08/19 02:53 PM
1

I agree, but I've realized that the obesity epidemic is a red herring - the real question we need to address is: Why is the rate of double chins rapidly increasing, independent of obesity level? It's become common to see 20-year-olds with double-chins that make them appear morbidly obese despite being thin. A decade ago this was extremely rare. The "double chin epidemic" is much more worrying to me than the obesity epidemic, yet nobody seems to be talking about it.

I think the reality is that men and women are equal here. Naturally equal, but men are strongly discouraged by society from acting this way, while in recent years women are encouraged to act this way.

Yeah if he's like 3 feet taller than her then she might rule him out as a matter of practicality. Also I was exaggerating a bit and simplifying a bit. It's more like "at least 4 inches taller bare minimum (but who prioritizes the bare minimum?), and at least above the average male height (5' 10"), and the taller the better". And height isn't the only physical factor women care about - it's just the one that has the strongest effect.
/r/MensRights17/06/19 06:10 AM
4

And when they say "just taller than me", they're doing an "iron man" / "motte and bailey" tactic. Because they really mean "at least 6 inches taller, and the more the better".
/r/MensRights14/06/19 07:09 PM
4

Very true. And this has been going on for decades, getting steadily worse. And I believe this (in part) is having a permanent negative impact on the quality of the human gene pool - the obesity epidemic is likely largely due to this. And people are getting uglier in general on average every year it seems - specifically in ways that women tend to not care much about. Feminism is literally causing the devolution of the species.

True - the list is already a bit long. I put them in order of importance, but it might be a good idea to put a divider after the top few most important. That's true that some people prefer written information - BUT, that doesn't work as well for catering to female bias. It's easy to not be thinking about the gender of the author of an article as you're reading it. Many times, you only know their gender by looking at the name listed in tiny print at the top.

Hmm. I definitely wouldn't include Emma Watson in that list. Aside from that, I think it's best to avoid going overboard with the list to share. hatred of women I think it's very important to distinguish between "hatred of X" and "frustration with X". It's entirely possible to love X yet be extremely frustrated with X. To say that you hate something is to say that you dislike what it is at its core - that you'd rather it didn't exist. That's very different from having strong frustrations about something that you nevertheless love what it is at its core.
/r/MensRights13/01/19 07:07 AM

Hmm. I'm having a hard time figuring out out if TrollXChromosomes and the other "troll subreddits" I just found out about are actually people trolling, as in trolling and making fun of the original subreddit by parodying them and trying to get a reaction, or if they're actually serious and misusing the term "troll" in some way. Do you have a good explanation of it?

/r/MensRights13/01/19 06:46 AM

But even if they are "hate subs", it's not hate in the way that feminists believe men hate women - it's frustration. It's not "men hate women for what they are as their very essence", but "men who have had women treat them badly and thus are angry at women about it". It's the same kind of "hate" that (straight) feminists have for men, resulting from some men treating them badly and them extending it to all men as a group.

It's possible that having power over the person made it extra arousing to him, but nobody ever does anything sexual predominantly just to feel powerful - that's pretty much the least efficient way to exert power over someone. Let's all calm down here. This is not how anyone convinces anyone of anything. I think this is a bit much. In general, they're still a good school that does good research and has good teachers (medical and other fields). This is like the first stage of cancer - still all-around healthy, but the cancer is a ticking time bomb if it isn't treated promptly.

Manspreading Can't believe I have to explain this, but men have sensitive reproductive organs between our legs that when compressed get very uncomfortable and can be damaged. Also we have narrower hips, which also make a wider position more comfortable. And it's just as common for women to put their bag on the seat next to them - same issue. But neither is an issue - just politely ask or motion for the person to move over, and they will. mansplaining This idea is sexist. Women explain things to …

Isn't insisting that one's behavior and perspective is absolutely the truth and that the other person's is absolutely wrong itself condescending? The fact is, we as humans have the remarkable ability to interpret literally anything anyone ever does or says as condescending. That doesn't mean that we should. Logic is the great equalizer. When we put subjective emotions aside and analyze things in a logical manner, that's the only way we can come close to absolute truth. Yes that may sound condesc…

I agree that men and women can miss things that aggravate each other, and they shouldn't be dismissed without consideration. However, if it's only a small vocal minority claiming to be aggravated, and if that thing after being analyzed is clearly not the fault of the supposed transgressor, then yes it should be dismissed. At most, a clear explanation should be given to the aggrieved, and and attempt should be made to help them change their attitude so they don't keep misinterpreting things. What…

It happens to men and women because 1.) Habit of pressing the button, and/or 2.) The light on the button doesn't stand out enough to make it immediately clear it's already been pressed. It's not something men do more, unless men are more likely to do things out of habit or to not thoroughly evaluate the status of a button before pressing it (which with this kind of button is entirely unnecessary and a waste of time and mental energy). We don't need to appeal to emotion when we have facts I wish that were true, but sadly human nature dictates that that will NEVER be the case, ever, with any generation. And, call me a sexist, but women in particular often seem more likely to be in need of the use of emotional tactics. Especially the feminist ones, since they tend to have deep emotional issues. So I think that people like us who try to undo the societal chaos being done by feminist extremists in power positions tend to do a very sub-optimal job at convincing enough people thoroughly enough. I think we all need to work on our tactics. We need to keep our arguments concise and directly to-the-central-points. And we need to use more "emotional judo" so people who are emotionally invested won't stop listening before considering the points. I think we need a coordinated effort to impro…

Yep. What I was trying to say is that these two things are the "central pillars" of every idea that comes from feminism (also a third central pillar: denial of biological sex differences). In this case, while it's true that these guys are being rude, it wouldn't be "simply because they're women". There's just no conceivable case I can think of where these ladies would be getting things done just as competently and yet the guys would keep on making jokes/comments about "needing to talk to a man" - that sounds like the ki…

Yes, my male counterparts treat women differently: they're more careful not to offend, more friendly, and yes there's often the undercurrent of one person being attracted to the other but trying not to show it too much for fear of damaging the work relationship or getting in trouble. Other than that, no. Not based simply on their sex. Based on their job responsibilities, experience level, personality, and quality of work, yes.

Being condescending just means talking down to someone from a perceived higher intellectual or moral authority. So are teachers being condescending every time they teach something to a student? If someone genuinely believes that someone doesn't know something, and they want to help them by teaching them that thing, why is that bad? Should we fire all the teachers because all they do is mansplain all day? I would say that actual, uncalled-for condescension is when someone is clearly not justified…
/r/MensRights07/11/17 06:09 AM

If that were true, it would be called "oversplaining" It's called "mansplaining" because feminists only notice when men do it, because feminists have deep-seated negative feelings towards men (often due to bad experiences they had with individual men, which they unfairly generalize to all men and build up negative feelings towards men as a group), and thus are constantly looking for things to criticize about men as a group, while completely missing when women do the exact same things.
/r/MensRights07/11/17 05:48 AM

You're being unclear with your wording. Of course some men and some women think they're better than some other individual men and some other individual women. This is assuming the definition of "better" as "a more valuable person". Some people think they're a better person than some other individual people. If you mean "better at a particular task", then yes, most men believe they're better than most women at lifting heavy weights, for example - because biologically they almost always are. In re…

I didn't mean that nobody is ever condescending. I meant that nobody is ever condescending to someone "simply because they're a woman". It's never that simple. Also, whether something was intended to be condescending is highly open to interpretation, and pretty much every time someone is accused of "mansplaining", it's a misinterpretation.

Yes and history books don't show that women were considered blanket statement less important. Only in terms of the WORKPLACE, etc, which made 100% sense before birth control and modern technology. Their lives and feelings have always been prioritized over men's.

I mean it depends on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to stir up emotions to get people on your side, sure. If you want to be accurate and thus able to look at realistic solutions to the problem, that's different. But I don't think it's good to give any legitimacy to the idea of men hating all women, even if in a different culture. It makes feminists seem less insane and thus more likely to be given power to spread their beliefs.

Thanks. In my experience, most feminists won't admit that men are naturally stronger. But in that case you can concede that unarmed assault is more serious when done by a man, but if anything is used as a weapon then it should be taken just as seriously from a woman. If a feminist admits that there's a natural strength difference between the sexes, the entire "Patriarchy Theory" begins to fall apart - lack of a natural strength difference is a prerequisite for pre-industrial gender roles being e…

In many places women are technically allowed to also. But most of them know better than to do that, because they wouldn't like all the sexual attention they would get.

Well, 17 out of 18 - I've seen nothing from feminism that "relies on the wisdom of the ancients" - in fact, their entire ideology comes from selectively ignoring and misinterpreting history, and maligning the ancients.

willing to be cordial with me Cordial is good. "no women would..." Obviously I didn't mean that literally - there are exceptions to every rule. Okay I believe you about not being a shill. But I disagree that most women would be willing to give up their special treatment. In fact, there was some kind of study posted here a while back (can't find it now) showing that when women are treated exactly the same as a man, most ladies perceive it as extremely sexist. Here's something similar showing the same thing: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/63jpg2/british_soccer_manager_treated_a_female_news/ Some more examples to think about:…

I think that if given the choice between either A.) being open to punches from people many times stronger than them, or B.) living as people have lived for the entirety of human existence except for the past ~70 years after technology / birth control changed what was possible, I think most ladies would chose option A. Not that that should have to be a choice, but if it were, there's a clear winner. Contrary to what feminists have told you, there were lots of happy women in the old world. Just as…

Sure. His point was that women have a lot of societal advantages that many take for granted (especially feminists), and that if there were to be actual equality / identicality between how the sexes are treated, that would require taking away those advantages, which they would be very unhappy about (such as the advantage of not being allowed to be punched).

women have better emotional intelligence than men (abilities to recognize other people's emotions, deal with your own) Based on my 31 years of experience, that's not quite right. Two things: 1.) Before modern technology, particularly birth control, this was the only way that was possible on a wide scale, due to biological differences. Pretty sure that's over 90% of all men That's the point - ladies have unrealistic "beauty standards" for men. Meanwhile, feminists insist it's only men that have unrealistic beauty standards, and a large part of the not-explicitly-feminist female population has come to believe the same thing. And the saddest part of this is that the only reason men's beauty standards are "unrealistic" is because of the modern obesity epidemic. Most guys like dating women who they are taller than [them] I don't think that's true. It probably wasn't a big deal in that case, but the fact remains that there's a double standard here: if a man were to kick you, even at minimal-force, any witnesses would immediately jump on him and condemn him for it, and if police were around he might get arrested. And yet modern feminists insist we live in a "woman-hating patriarchy". I actually hung out a lot with different groups of them frequently at different times (not realizing at first that it was something that they had in common, or even what it was initially). oppressive gender dynamics were engineered/enforced to benefit men And that's the anti-scientific belief where the seeds of hatred are planted. When did you go to college? I think the serious misandric mindset really started to become common in 2012. Though misandry is the natural outcome of believing the core feminist ideology that it's been centered on since the 1970's. Blaming all your problems on men as a group and having a general preference against them is misandry, just as blaming every little problem on women as a group and having a general preference against women could reasonably be called misogyny.

Feminism makes them believe that they are not (at least) equal under the law / (at least) equally respected. That's why it needs to go. And women who are properly trained in logic and who don't hate all men collectively. Modern feminists are directly standing in the way, because they do not want to give up any power or privileges that women have (even though they insist that women have no power or privileges over men).

How? They made an argument based on a false premise. They were attacking the idea of being against modern feminism by claiming that feminism is something which it is not. That's what a strawman argument is. Did you watch the episode in question? The claim was: "A is simply B. B is obviously good. Therefore, being against A is obviously bad". But premise #1 is a greatly distorted version of the truth - intentionally distorted to make anyone who disagrees easier to attack. That's what a straw man …

As to why somebody might be A&B, motivations don't really enter into the logic involved. I was talking about reasons for believing things or feeling certain ways. That's what this conversation is about. your original hypothesis was that homophobia arises because male homosexuality implies anal sex which to most people is seen as gross. ie that anal sex is the determining factor (alone) that motivates dislike for gay men and thus homophobia. You have a few good points points, but have you actually met anyone who is (A & B)? I haven't. And I haven't heard of any either. If they do exist, they could just be very susceptible to peer pressure and all their friends are B, or they could be very religious and believe that the Bible prohibits homosexuality but not anal sex. I'm also fine with LGBT people and I also find anal sex gross. But I'm fine with it out of maturity - I wasn't always fine with it. Beoming fine with it came from learning that they have no control over their orientation, and reflecting on the fact that it doesn't hurt anyone else so it's their own business. There may be other factors too, but I don't think it can be argued that this is not a major factor. Also, conversely, lesbians most likely have an increase in positive emotions towards them …

Depends on the person - some hetero people find it "adventurous", but certainly not all. And either way, it involves subjects that are considered gross by almost everyone, such as buttholes and poop, even if some hetero people look past that. That in itself is enough to make people treat it as worse than "rubbing vaginas together". Also, before condoms were invented / mass produced, it was a good way to get dysentery.

The summary is almost copy-paste from standard SJW feminist lines. The reviews are extolling the SJW-ism using ideological terms and ideological statements. OK last response from me because I doubt we'll convince each other of anything Fair enough. Well I have replies, so I'm gonna reply. Here is his ad, here is background on the case it's about. Interesting. But in context, it doesn't seem like his reaction was a big deal. He was rightfully outraged over what had happened and wanted to rant / vent about it. Our prisons aren't filled with people convicted of rape and people who complimented a woman or something I was talking about how it would be if…

called for the death penalty for children accused of rape Source? I can't find one for this. stop & frisk I just read up on "stop & frisk". The officer has to have solid reasons to be suspicious of the person, and it does not include race. If it reduces violent crime and gang activity in low-income black communities, this greatly helps to solve the problems they have as the unfortunate result of historical racism. he wants more mass incarceration What do you mean by that? But I know that under H…

I'm only 31, but since I reached voting age, every presidential election I've voted for the democrat, and until last year I had only voted for democrats to other offices. I was a solid moderate democrat - totally for the democrats, but with some appeals to moderation on a few things. Then 2012 came and the SJWs started taking over, and I learned about the insanity of modern feminism (I had thought that feminism had finished and been relegated to the history books already). Since then they've bee…

Without reservation? How? What you just described is a "YUGE" reservation. Enough by itself for me to vote for a Republican after voting only Democrat in past elections. Besides, some of your reasons for voting against Trump are probably media lies and misrepresentations.

were women being heard in american politics 100 years ago? 50? If you're refering to women occupying political positions, 100 years ago there was not yet any reliable and mass-produced birth control, and there were no safe modern abortion procedures, and so any lady with a sex drive would by necessity have many children to look after. 50 years ago, birth control was just beginning to become socially acceptable, so same issue. What have any of you been doing to make sure women's voice are heard m…

Sincerely believing that feminism is about equality is what I call "pop feminism". It's what the media has been pushing lately. They cherry-pick, skew, and lie to make it seem like men have all the advantages, and gullible people buy into it. That's why its true nature must be constantly exposed by people who know better.

I said "the general connotation". Most people don't have full and comprehensive dictionary definitions loaded into their brains that they can recall at will. The connotation is the first thing that comes to mind - the default immediate thought reaction. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/connotation In the singular sense of "a privilege", the connotation does match up with "a special right". But in the collective form "privilege", the connotation is "wealth".

Whites have generational wealth Many do. This is not a matter of "you're white therefore you're privileged", as the ideology goes. It's "if your parents were white, you are more likely to have privilege passed on to you". And this is purely from a financial perspective. A middle-class white guy who's 5 feet tall probably hates his life. better funded schools This is a problem that should be solved by encouraging segregated communities to integrate. Inner-city black gang culture combined with bad…

does not negate the fact that most white people in America are more privileged then minorities Nobody's arguing against the statistic that a higher percentage of white people are upper or middle class than black people. But this is not something intrinsic to being a particular race (anymore). It's logically sound to say "a lot of white people are privileged", but it's not logically sound to say "white people are privileged simply because they're white". Also, Asians and Indians (from India) are …

Privilege implies being better off, not being excessively well off I'm talking about the general connotation of the word, which is "being rich". It's a bad choice of word for what the ideological version is trying to say. Are women privileged compared to men? Yes, they are. Are they all "excessively well off"? Even as a frequenter of this subreddit, I disagree with your generalization here. I would say the average woman is privileged compared to the average man, but a morbidly obese lady on welf…

Will Smith is 1000000 times more privileged than the homeless white guy down the street from me. The entire concept of an entire race or sex being "privileged" is stupid because it implies all of them being excessively well-off, which is clearly false. It was definitely true that many decades ago that you would be socially DISADVANTAGED to be black. That's a much better term to use, and it's mostly not true anymore, unless you wander into a KKK meeting or something. There are much better predict…

So, because he has a few concerns about 100% non-regulation of gun sales, he's anti-gun? That's an extreme position. There's such a thing as a "moderate libertarian". Better that a few people unfairly get banned from buying a new gun than for a terrorist to buy guns. This isn't the same thing as putting someone in jail unfairly - it's just not letting them buy a particular item.

Well, Canada is the nearest country to the USA, not counting Mexico. I guess nobody says "I'm gonna move to Mexico" because they know that's not a good idea with all their economic and crime problems. And they don't speak English. So, Canada is the default.

Not if you assume Donald vs Hillary is a near-tie. Assuming Donald vs Hillary is a near-tie, if Gary gets 34% then the most either of the others get is 33%. Of course this doesn't hold if Donald vs Hillary isn't a near-tie. But it could still be close to that - for example, if they were 35% vs 31% then Gary would need 36%.

It's not that simple. Johnson supports many of the things supported by each party and rejects the more embarassing beliefs of each party. Many people support tolerance for gays and are more moderate on immigration but find Hillary to be untrustworthy. In particular I think a lot of Bernie supporters would vote for Johnson - and that's a huge group. Strong dislike of both main candidates, coupled with positions that most people can agree with, is a strong combination.

There was plenty of hope for people against modern feminism. The Republican Party is generally against modern feminism. Statistically, it's extrememly rare that one party keeps the presidency more than 2 consecutive terms. The left has been shitting all over men and white people for the past 4 years. This should have been an easy win for the party that opposes modern feminism. Instead, they picked the worst possible candidate, who's unlikely to win and if he does will not oppose modern feminism.…

He's already pushed it. Twice recently. I don't doubt that him being in power will cause it to be pushed less than Hillary being in power. But now I really don't want him to win either. This is the last straw in a string of disappointing things coming from him. I was willing to forgive the other things (his ultra-conservative runningmate pick, his denial of global warming, his tendency to not think before he speaks), but this is the final nail in his coffin for me. Donald is celebrating a feminism that you dont even have a concept of its so far back in history False - in fact, it's the only feminism I knew ever existed until 2012. Until 2012 I thought it was something only in the history books. And Ivanka made no qualifications on her statement that she's a feminist - she didn't say "in the original sense" or "but I don't agree with some of the stuff going around these days" or "I believe in fairness for everyone regardless of sex". No - she just said "I a…

There is no wage gap for men & women doing the same work. But I think Ivanka knows this. https://youtu.be/Er5bE6eYf7k?t=536 And yet right after she says it's about motherhood, she directly implies that they're getting unequal pay for equal work. Which does she believe? The two are mutually exclusive.

Any other election year I would agree with that. But this year is unique - never in history have the two main candidates been so strongly disliked by so many people. People want another option. Read about it. The only reasons a lot of people wouldn't vote for him are a.) They don't think he can win, and b.) They don't know about him. If he gets into the debates, everyone will know about him, and as his poll numbers rise, people will start to believe that he can actually win, which would have a f…

Celebrating feminine beauty has nothing to do with feminism - of any era. In fact, feminists from the 70's to today would call "celebrating feminine beauty" "objectification". The problem is that since the 70's, being a feminist has meant believing in "The Patriarchy Theory", which is pure insanity. The feminism before that had particular goals, and those goals were achieved. To call yourself a feminist today and to mean the historical movement is like calling yourself a member of the Tea Party …
