On average, women can't compete with men in areas where physical strength is a vital component of the job. A 3 standard deviation strength difference isn’t an “on average” disparity. If a man becomes unfit he can get much faster back into shape. What if the female firefighter becomes unfit a few years later? What do you do then? Do you expel her from the force? Do you put her on a year of payed leave or what? Equal opportunity in physical jobs sounds nice until such problems occur.

If the standards become the same women will end up being 1-2% of the force, while requiring 2-3x times the effort compared to the men to get there. Claiming that women in general are not fit for such jobs barring small exceptions isn't sexist, it's a hard concrete fact. Almost all sports accept everyone, yet they have different scedules for different genders/ ages. At the same time a dojo is one of the easiest gyms to set up. You can turn almost any space to a martial arts gym, yet you can't do the same thing for something like football or hockey. The fact that they are unprofessional is solely their own fault.

Also the physical fitness tests should be the same regardless of sex. If a woman can't cope with the rigorous training, she isn't suitable for the job. My main issue is martial arts training. I find ridiculous if not outright offensive the prospect of being paired to train with a 100lb woman, being a 6'4" 240lb guy. Having special Womens only activities in regular gyms which I subsidize with my gym membership is even worse to be honest and quite drives me mad. I get what you mean though. Women like to self-segregate when it's convenient while claiming misogyny when men want the same thing. Mens only gyms is indeed a needed addition. In the end more choices for everyone is a good thing, whether you want mixed training, all male or all female training spaces.
