Been about 3 years know, and it still hurts from time to time. It definitely changed me as a person and im definitely not trusting as much anymore. 10 years, lost everything besides legal costume of my kids. She cheated on me and asked me to use it my savings for a house But im better know, and enjoy my kids immensely and done a decent job co parenting

It is rough, I can deal with the crying it's the constant getting sick and my work telling me if I stay home and take care of them, becouse I have no immediate family anymore, I will be fired. Have no one to help with sick kid on my days = having to stay home = losing my job Can't find another job that's willing to work around that. Though I am very much actively looking for one

I mean, I know this is the divorce men sub reddit. But as I lost my wife, car, dogs, house I alone saved for and only lived in less then a year, lost my father to cancer rather suddenly during all this, barely hung on to my job whyll everyone else got laid off, and was alienated from every single person in my life for the last 15 years? And i also got diagnosed with something that's going to make my life living hell Yeah, got my kids. It is the best and only thing I really got left, but I apprec…

Haha me ex tried to say I was drinking heavily, I was like yes I was having a fee drinks. When I don't have the kids, and considering I'm such a lightweight a budweiser 32 hours gets me black out drunk, I mean I drank 15oz at best one night when I didn't have the kids. Not a alcoholic haha

Neither of us had lawyers lol a lawyer would have told her it's not going to work that way

Honestly, I hate her she hates me. But we don't argue about the kids ever, when we're married and after divorce. She only wanted legal costody so the kids have to stay in town. I'm like it don't matter who has legal costudy in ca you have to go through courts to move the kids lol so a complete waste of time.

The single dad life is hard, no denying that, but always look on the brighter side. When you have the kids, their yours, you can do what you have always wanted to do with them without the ex complaining behind you every step of the way. I mean, I randomly decided tonight to take them to Chuck cheese just us, and it was glorious. They had a blast, and their was no one else their to bring me down either.

Plan to with the loss, ex father in law just wants the he'll out. Can't blame him for that either

When the co-signiny happened, we drafter up a letter stating he has permission from both of us (me and stbx) to sell if it goes sideways (it's definitely gone sideways). We sell at a huge loss for both of us, I'll most likely be declared bankruptcy this time next year
/r/Divorce_Men26/10/23 07:22 PM

Oh, we lose a lot of money on this house, and it has definitely gone sideways. lol, thanks for the advice!

We make roughly the same, so I won't be getting much. Child soppurt won't be to much either, but I'll be on a tight budget as is, if I have to pay more then normal I'm fucked

I'd be okay with it, second job, that is. if we were keeping the house. It's my first house, haven't even been their a year, I will actually owe money by a few thousand when I sell it. It's depressing. She had the audacity to ask me to do a whole bunch of minor work before she left. Nope on my end lol

Well, my stbx also tried the same stuff with me on overtime Luckily, home office from my work sent like 10 e-mails stating overtime isn't allowed anymore, I have them all printed out and my overtime went from 40 a week, to absolutely nothing. glorious

I finally got some sleep, went on a half ass date with a co-worker who I'm fond of but never did anything with. It calmed me down tremendously. I have never been so happy to get some sleep

I have decided to just not drink anymore after last weekend, even when I am happy. Last weekend was way too close for comfort, was drunk and depressed beyond belief planning on killing myself, only thing that took me back was some random dog. I need help, at least I'm in a sound enough mind to know that

It's hard to do with no money and work sent you 'home' on administrative leave, but it wasn't a mean send home. More of if we have to pay you we don't want you here crying in your office it's bad for moral. Spent most of my week alone at a local park staring at a river

Don't know, I need to see the paperwork first. Banks tracking it down It was a whyll ago

She screwed up a loan during covid, I went into the bank. Split a car loan in two increased our lease each month
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 05:04 PM
5

Sadly went to the bank and found out what's going on, she split a loan up to pay less during covid, she wasn't aware that it would know ve two loans to pay and increase out debt each month by 500, she never told me, but I know it involves the truck.
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 05:03 PM
3

Sadly, I figured it all out, she fucked us both for years and told no one. I'm not going to blackmail her, I am better then that, but dam would it feel good
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 05:01 PM
2

The pettiness in me wants to use it as blackmail. I won't, but it sound so good, I'm better then that. I'm gathering proof today, then I'll either tell her the debt is all you're or have her arrested. Does that sound good?
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 02:15 PM
14

I have to go to the bank today when they open, just to clarify that it is true. The bank is out of town by about 3 hours, so I'll be leaving soon. The bank will be able to tell me, and I hope I'm right! Adios finacial problems. I also need proof of the other thing. It makes sense to know why we were always broke
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 01:41 PM
2

Shit man and I thought my divorce was bad, just some financial abuse so far, at least. I got no real advice besides lawyer up, if she is going to accuse u of abuse, spend some money and time installing cameras at home/car. I know it sounds extreme, but it's a safety precautions, and u have proof that nothing happens when you get accused. Wish I had better advice, I wish ya luck and if ya need to talk just dm me no worries

Theirs only one dream I haven't accomplished in life, I've done everything else and I dont want to marry again. Time to go to school to be a park ranger lol
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 02:14 AM

As long as her father still lives in town, not a chance, it is the reason we moved to this town in the first place. And the father ain't moving soon either, and even if she did. I don't have any other reason to stay in this town besides the kids, so I'd just move with
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 02:13 AM
1

I mean I trust her for know; hence why I'm fighting 59/50 lol
/r/Divorce_Men06/10/23 02:11 AM

That what I figured, ironically when it come to the kids I trust her

Ca someone has to get child support I think, could be wrong, haven't slept or ate for days
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 08:55 PM
1

Haha I've got 5 bucks to my name till the tenth, though I am having one help me fill it out the paperwork and such, though most likely will not be able to afford to represent me. I told her 50/50 or I lawyer up, and I'm not backing down. Child support is another issue. She makes somewhat less than me by about 900. I'm not sure how that will work, but I got a lawyer know, half of one at least
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 01:43 PM
2

Haha, I'll like the no nagging part, that's for sure. Even know whyll we still live together in separate rooms, it's nice not really caring about that.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 01:14 PM
2

Yeah, that's fair, I think it's also give them the power to move? I won't lie to, her asking for that hurt the most, and we've said so much to each other.
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 01:08 PM
2

That's kind of what I figured. Honestly, I know she wants child support and medical insurance. I was budgeting it ill be finacially ruined. Hoping a lawyer will be able to help
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 01:06 PM

Won't lie, really is the number one thing I look forward to

First, sorry, it's gotten to this point, and I wish you well. Secondly, yeah, it does not sound good, but if it's kept somewhat amaicable, it might go well. Their was quick info on divorce proceedings that someone sent to me, had some useful advice I'll try and find it for you
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 08:01 AM
6

Go to the local courtroom, ask for divorce paperwork, and fill out it out truthfully. You can get a lawyer at this point if you think it's going to be a bad one. Otherwise, fill it out you're self. There are also some help desk resources in most courtrooms that will help, but they will not give any opinions on the matter, only what goes where. After that, turn in the paperwork, and the court will find a served guy who will find the spouse and give her the paper and they have 30 days to fill out …
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 07:58 AM

Haha, I mean, for me, maybe once every six months, she even gave me pity sex a few days before serving me, the audacity
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 02:28 AM
2

Well, she had substance ten years ago lol though honestly not much looks
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 12:54 AM

Nasty, I would have it lived in but never nasty. Besides the kitchen table being a catch all everytime I cleared it she was good with the cleaning to the point of annoyance
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 12:38 AM
3

Haha, I actually have looked into the last 6 months' financial info from both banks and good grief. No wonder I never had any money
/r/Divorce_Men05/10/23 12:15 AM
1

Congrats on the divorce then! Ironically it me who's a little more messy then her, not to point of wtf just lived in
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 11:54 PM
1

Sorry, bro, that's rough for sure. Ex-wife is doing medical since she will be under the spend limit for free healthcare, and neither of us fought that
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 11:53 PM
1

Well, I know my ex wife was depressed post martem, then had a miscarriage. I chucked it up to depression and honestly still do. We were fine untill the miscarriage happened, that's when things started to slide between me and her. I was working more then normal and should have seen the signs
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 11:51 PM

Ain't that the truth, it's a never-ending goal that I never have to achieve, and it helps my self-confidence.
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 09:11 PM

I'm working on the father I've always wanted to be, I'm already good but you can never master that one perfectly
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 09:04 PM
1

Jesus, $2200 child support, I'm going to fight for 250 each kid. Otherwise, I'll be ruined financially. Also, even if we split 50/50, someone has to pay, is bullshit. She makes just a little less then me
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 09:04 PM
3

Plenty of bad indeed, just trying to find some positive light so I appreciate
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 07:41 PM
1

I've got a lawyer set up already and burrowed some money, ex wife does not know this part yet, I hope we can come to terms rather easily, but I didn't want to get screwed later. Worst part is I just got this place 8 months ago, it's co-signed signed by her dad, so it will be interesting. If we sell know we'll be 4k short, same thing with her truck, we'll be about 15k I'm the hole when this divorce is over
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 07:38 PM
1

Oh good, start to get used to after whyll
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 06:43 PM
1

Well I never had that one before, can't imagine that day went smoothly though
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 06:40 PM

She had a annoying habit of being angry and never telling me why I won't miss that
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 06:36 PM

I like the post divorce solution phase terminology. I am looking forward to that
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:26 PM

Going to the gym soon, therapy is set up. Eating right is my own fault really need to work on
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:23 PM

/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:21 PM

Honestly, can't wait to do a solo camp trip again. It beers ten years since I had one
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:20 PM

Yeah she trying to take the house and had the audacity to ask for help with the mortgage, I get paid okay, but not afford two places okay
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:11 PM

From a sexless marriage, the last part seems like one of the greatest
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:08 PM

Jesus, untill I got the divorce paperwork I didn't know my wife had like 6 credit cards, I'm not paying a dime on them, she at least didn't try and ask me to in her credit
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:07 PM
1

Haha theirs a reason I own a 100 foot snake.
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 05:06 PM
4

Well something to look forward to, I'll have the kids 50/50 so I'll have nights to myself again
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 03:12 PM
6

Thanks, I won't lie. I'm glad I get to do random camping trips again. We split up bank accounts already evenly (not that theirs much in their). I also know for a fact that she can't afford her part of the mortgage this month. She has to ask for my help, lol maybe I can make the trips up to my brother again and not worry about my wife and kids
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 03:11 PM
7

I mean, after this sexless marriage, I am looking forward to that last part
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 03:09 PM

Well, always wanted to join a gym and spend a few days camping by myself and hike. I miss being able to plans things for my shelf
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 03:08 PM

I'm in the early stages of it only getting served Monday. Ex wife is walking around the house, acting like everything is normal. I've never been alone with just me, but my job is okay pay, solitude I've never had, never had a place with just me. That part excites me. Not heaving to worry about pleasing her constantly is a peace of mind already
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 02:51 PM
2

Well, it wasn't me who wanted it lol she asked last sat, got served Monday. So I've spent the vast majority of the weekend looking everything up, good times
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 02:34 PM
17

Well, that's something never considered. My wife credit is ruined, I have okay credit, won't mind that going uo as I have to find a place within the next year. I'm hoping she moves out and I can live at the house
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 02:30 PM
3

You can do it if both parties agree, though the way you make her sound, it's probably a no-go. I wish I had better advice to give, I've suddenly become a expert on divorce last 4 days lol
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 02:19 PM
1

Will eventually,
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/23 10:50 AM
1

Sorry mate, I know for a fact the second she smells a lawyer she going to fight for full costudy
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 10:27 PM
3

I finally got ahold of one through a friend, and I love his response to sit tight and enjoy the ride. He says don't try this way if you don't trust.
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 10:26 PM
2

Ca is where I'm at, think it's 50/50, could be wrong I'll have to look it up
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 10:25 PM
2

She did do some false accusations on the paper I got served, saying I don't spend time with kids and such
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 06:00 PM
1

She says she does not, the papers I got served weren't signed by one at least
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 05:58 PM
1

Thanks for the link, lot of helpful advice.
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 02:10 PM
1

She says she didn't go to a lawyer, but I honestly don't believe her anymore. I can't figure out a way to get one myself, I already have to burrow money to get to the next paycheck. I told her if I don't get 50/50 legal custody with both kids, I would call a lawyer, and she backed down pretty hard. I'll also will be checking the bank account I still have access to to see if any payments to a lawyer went out when the banks open today. She couldn't close the account because of a negative balance
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 02:07 PM
2

House equity is non-existent, we only bought this place eitmght moths ago. We will be lucky to break even on the house. My wife did me the favor and maxed out my one and only credit card, I will be burrowing money and have a lawyer do the contract for me, and the lawyer to tell me if it will even hold up or not. She has a full time job, but I make 8 bucks more. She stated in the serving papers that she takes the kid 70-80% of the time, want full costudy, wants the house know to. Ironically the o…
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 02:03 PM
2

I know, every comment I get says get a lawyer, but I simply do not have the money for it, I have 20 bucks to my name untill I get paid. She also went off my overtime ridden paystubs, I mean honestly smart move, meaning she can put down average income about 1500 more then I normally make.
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 12:46 PM
1

I simply can't afford one, I have 20 bucks in my pocket
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 12:36 PM
1

Oh yeah, should have mentioned I plan on a lawyer doing it, I'm hoping to burrow some money from my family for that
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 04:18 AM
2

True, so just fill out a contract for all the things I want, have her sign it, will that hold up in court? I've never done this before
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 03:32 AM
4

That's fair, I lost all hope today, and just started filling it. I'll ask a friend to write a contract for me, she's in the field just not in divorce
/r/Divorce_Men03/10/23 03:30 AM
