Probably! You surely know how quickly women flip the script during marriage and especially during divorce. Example- I stopped being a good husband to my EX for OPs almost exact situation. From Jan-July my EX barely made 15k, then from Aug-Oct that same year, she made over 15k and was working all the overtime and extra shifts. When our marriage was happy, which was when I financially supported an entire household of 4 (she had a child from a previous relationship that the father didn't support) a…

She started off pretending we were going to agreeable with some bumps in the road. Then one morning she left and took our son to school, that was the last time I saw him for 3 months. I spoke to him 2 days later and then that was the last time I spoke to him for 3 months. He was 3. But she took him, changed his schools, moved him 5 miles down the road, had me trespassed from the property all before I had ever been served with divorce papers. Good times fellas!

Same as some other said. It sucks and hurts, but it gets easier with time and some self work. Also, feel free to PM me if you need someone. I also have no family and lost the partner I cared most for. Basically living for my kids and some hobbies at this point.

Hahaha. I did this to my ex too! All my tax stuff normally comes in quick and her employers drag till the last day so I rushed and beat her to it. Really helped me during the divorce. Yes, she was entitled to half. But she wanted so much 'stuff' and physical property that her cash settlement was nothing.

My guy!!!! That is the absolute best fucking part. My sons mom 'was' on 3 different anti-anxiety medications, a mood stabilizer for BPD (which she doesn't have according to her), a sleep medication, and something else. She drinks while taking alllllllllll of them and doesn't take them as prescribed. I sat up at night, counting the pills to make sure she was taking them or not. And Im the only one who seems to care. I have 4 of those 3-ring binders in my closet where every piece of evidence and f…

Fuck no. I tried for 8 years to please someone who is incapable of being happy. I let my mental and physical health go so far down the toilet I can remember suicide being the only option that felt reasonable. There's not a day that passes that I regret holding the door open for her when she threatened to leave. I became the absolute best version of myself that I've ever been. I found a new love for myself and life that I didnt know was possible. So, No. No Ragrets.

I think so, too. It's really just sitting with the fact that a 3rd party is about to decide what's best for my son. I feel that, too. A lot of the reason I have what I do is because I refused to back down in mediation. She played the "he's an unhinged drug addict 2 and that worked for a little bit. But after 7 drug tests that were all negative, she had to yield that argument. Then the "he's a Satanist" that was fucking awesome to defend myself against, and then she's basing her case around somet…

A law my state has, and the fact we're both going for the jugular asking for full custody. Once the judge decides custody, we'd basically have to almost kill him or put him in extreme danger to have it changed again.

Consult with as many attorneys as humanly possible. Weigh all the advice and pick the attorney that best suited for you. Everywhere is different, but in my are it is known that all the judges start at 50/50, and you present your case for the percentage to change. Or maybe yall can agree to that beforehand? You'll also more than likely be sent to a mediation before a trial date is set. If you go that route, discuss the kids' first!!!!! My EX wanted full custody to start with(all her motions with …

Better idea, Only stick it in if she's being paid to leave. Don't stick it if they wanna know your favorite color and 'how you're feeling'

Join a gym. Go for a walk. Go fishing. Do whatever you wanna do and can do to make YOU happy, without her. Got kids? Do stuff with them. What i did? Got back in the gym and started taking my physical health more seriously. When my body got better, my mind got better. Then jump back into hobbies I used to enjoy, didn't like them anymore. Found new hobbies. Free time without the kids? Take yourself out a date. AVOID WOMEN. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT RAMMING YOUR DICK IN SOMETHING NEW, not until you'v…

When the NRE wears off, the dynamic will change. Just use it all to your favor, my friend. Document. Everything. Money does go a long way in a divorce, but so does being a good dad. Just stop giving a fuck what she does, take the PTO spend time with the kids, Document the time you spend with them. Walk into a courtroom and present facts. That's really all you can do. But it's an emotional roller-coaster getting there. Especially if you're still living together, I got slightly lucky that my ex wa…

Nooo, she was a Boss Babe and a business owner! I eventually had to delete my social media because of the horse shit she posted it made me sick. But yeah, her 'business' was gonna retire both of us and provide generational wealth for our kids. What a joke.

My ex was all for working on issues and talking out problems. When she could blame them on me. When I told her to get a full-time job and get the hell off social media, all of sudden, our marriage wasn't fixable, and divorce was the only answer. So a switch was definitely flipped somewhere.

I do the same as mentioned about Friday to Friday, 7/7. She drops off at school on Friday, and I pick up, opposite for the following Friday. We've never done any other schedule, but I love 7/7. Gives us the weekend to hang out and get ready for the week, makes it easier to plan vacations and fun activities and the best part, Limited interactions with the ex!

Not counting CS, I'm 20k and counting. heading back to court for Round 3 soon. So far, every time I manage to get my attorneys fees caught up and paid off, something gets filed, and I'm back maxing out credit cards for retainers.

I have a 5 year old son we share 50/50 custody and a 7on/ 7 off schedule. I do exactly what a few others have recommended. The weeks he is with me, it is he and I. I pick him up early from daycare and bring him to my work a few days a week, and we everything together. He loves helping with yard work, housework, and whatever else I have going. We play with his Legos, movie nights, whatever else, and I try to make it a point to do 1 fun out of the norm thing with him each week. I despise his mothe…

I'm curious how you made it out of that with no child support payment? I'm guessing you have 50/50 with an equal time schedule and make similar amounts?

I love reading this. The day my ex told me she was moving out and told me a date, like 3 days from the day she told me, I called my auto insurance company to take her and the vehicle she drove off my insurance, they asked to speak with her to verify she was moving out. She verified. I asked them to put the changes into effect on a particular date. Around 9 days later. That gave her a week to get quotes and acquire her own insurance. She forgot!!!!! Went without insurance for over a month. Got a …

Bitch about how I always wanted to chill at home and relax on the weekends, while she worked part time and lived her best life while I worked a manual labor job Mon-Fri sometimes 10hr days. Complain about how I never spent any time with her kid and then would butt in and take control anytime I tried to do anything with step kid. Blew thousands of dollars on a MLM and then complained about being broke and how I didn't care about her financial situation. Obsessed over social media and what everyon…

I pay my ex the same amount in child support as I would if she had full custody, I ended up getting 50/50 and a 7on/7off schedule. But I pay the same amount I would have to pay if she had full custody and I was an every other weekend father. My state didn't have a guideline for shared custody at the time so I just got fucked. Good news, the only reason she agreed to 50/50, 7/7 is because of the dollar figure she saw she would get. June 1st the new guideline goes into effect for shared custody. T…

I think we were married to the same woman. Kids were most important to her. Parenting plan decided in 45 minutes. Negotiated for 6hrs over child support and her settlement.

I think it helped everytime he went in her room her or her attorneys lied to him and when he came back we had proof they were lying. But being in separate rooms I could have an incorrect perspective on how it went.

I would have something accidentally happen to that folder. I learned you don't divorce the same person you married and once attorneys get involved, it's no holds barred street fight. My ex misplacing items she wanted to use against me during the divorce helped me tremendously.

We're using our family wizard and I like it, it's a little pricey at $145 a year for each of us. But I like the features and messages can't be modified or deleted so our attorneys or judge could log in one day and check on us. Our pickup/drop off is specifically set up so we never have to see each other but we are on a 7/7. She is very much a narcissist and can't stand it when she's not in control or included. That's one of the reasons our marriage didn't work is because she always felt like she…

I thought my mediation was going to be a complete waste of time and actually ended up hiring attorney that had a reputation for being a beast at trial. We ended up settling at mediation, and after the mediator saw some of the proof I had and she lied to him on multiple occasions at mediation, he actually ended up favoring me a little bit. The settlement we ended up signing was almost completely in my favor.

Did we divorce the same woman? My ex also had fantasies that we'll still hang out, do things together with the kids and share birthday parties together. But after the way she acted and treated me and our son before and during the divorce, fuck that bitch. I requested she only communicate with through a parenting app and she pitched a damn fit about it. Fuck her.

I started with a male attorney and ended with a female. The male was very thorough when we were doing discovery and getting stuff done. But my ex hired a bitch of a woman and he backed down to her, I felt like, and was putting stuff off until trial. I fired him and hired a female attorney, because she was a bitch too. I feel like she understood the crazy better than he did and enjoyed being a bitch back to my ex wife's attorney. I will go with a bitch of a female should I ever go through this ag…

Just assets and custody of our son. My attorney thinks the assets part will be easy as the stbxw moved out before she filed and took a bunch of stuff when she did.

Never cared enough to start the shit storm of an argument that it would've brought, and never knew the actual amount of money until I was looking through her bank statements and the tax returns she provided. She knew I was pissed that she took them to 'her tax guy' after we had a conversation I would file them myself. At first it was because she wanted to help and take it off me. But now seeing the $$$$. It's because she's a greedy bitch.

Lawyer was impartial to the idea of calling the irs. Did say that it would make her look worse during the final trial but didn't offer any more advice. The reason I didn't so anything before is because I knew she would take the kids the first chance she got, (she has previously done this when we separated a few years ago and would threaten it in her drunk tirades) and to me the tax money was negligible. I was always use to owing the irs before we got married and had a kid so it didn't make a dif…

That link you posted is interesting, because I never signed the joint returns. She signed for me so the money would go into her account.

If you're into working out I suggest that. 2hrs in the gym and 20-30 minutes of carido have become nothing in comparison to what she's been putting me through. If you're still living with yours I know that's harder, I was actually asking my stbxw family to help her move it so she could stop trying to destroy my life from the inside.

I feel that. I had the uncontrollable urge to call or text her how much of a piece of garbage she was for taking my son and acting so unreasonable about all this. Threw my phone at the wall instead. Cost me $75, but worth it I suppose.

She technically can't. But she technically can. The way it was explained to me is until the court makes a decision we have equal rights to the child. But whoever has possession of him is the one in "power." However, 3 attorneys and a friend who used to be a judge have told me it makes her look terrible in court and could potentially sway things better in my favor once we get in front of a judge. It also should help that i have a video of her saying he would be at school Monday and I could pick h…

Honestly look back, I think it was alchol mixed in with the bipolar meds. I really have no idea. I was brushing my teeth and taking my contacts out. The oldest had a friend over spending the night and the 3 kids were piled on the couch watching a movie.

Thank you. Strangely enough, the week before she moved out I found out she was taking a mood stabilizer for bi polar disorder and then with the alcohol on top. Stuff started making more sense. My reply to her papers is me asking for full physical custody of him. Yeah I ain't doing no type of test until the court orders me to do so. My lawyer told me to not say anything else about financial support for him. He said at this point a judge is gonna decide what happens. It's just killing me how much …
