This this this. My ex-h would constantly complain about everything but he never did a damn thing about it. Current bf- wants to get engaged, so he applied for a promotion at work and I noticed he’s been paying off a bunch of annoying little debts he had hanging around so he can save more. He talks about the future with me, but he’s also making moves towards it. Its a sight to behold after getting love bombed and eloping with my ex. Ugh. Never again!

Yep. I lost my virginity at 14 to an 18 year old senior. Looking back he totally took advantage of the situation even if I did “consent”.

My blue collar boyfriend has two wardrobes: work and not-work. All his work clothes look like this 🤣 Thank god he cares what he looks like on his off hours.

This this this. I’ve never been with such an attentive man. He says his first “porn” was stealing his mom’s romance novels. Lol He admits to reading erotica here and there, but not really since we started dating. He jokes around that he’s my Fabio 😂😂😂

I’m admittedly a little trad... found me a guy who rotates my tires, changes my oil, snakes my drains, knows how to put up dry wall and change out a light fixture. But he never complains about cooking, he folds laundry, runs the vacuum at least once a week. I’m all about that non-toxic masculinity!!!! I’m happy to cook for him. He loves what I make and it honestly feels great to cook for someone who appreciates it after my shitbag ex who bitched about everything but didn’t work and didn’t lift a…

We were VS models together. She got swooped up with him after he broke up with Bar Rafaeli. The paparazzi hounded her every where, he was constantly seen with other women even though he promised her they were exclusive. We spent a weekend in Vegas with him and his friends... they were total shit heads, did tons of coke and Molly, kept disappearing on us. It was chaotic and the opposite of fun. He also constantly negged on us even though we were fucking Victoria’s Secret models and she was an ang…

He is. A dear friend of mine dated him. He’s profoundly LV. He treated her like complete shit and it took her years to get over being abused by a man so powerful and respected. He’s absolute trash.

This is why women (especially in the US) should buy guns and get trained. God forbid it ever comes to it, but men aren’t going to liberate us. We’re going to have to liberate ourselves. Google pictures of female Sandanistas. Get inspired. Get radicalized.

This is how my current bf is. I was coming off a gnarly divorce, he was coming off a pretty big heartbreak. He’s never said anything about his ex besides that they were ultimately incompatible. He was super sad to see her go (she needed to move to a warm climate for a professional opportunity and he just didn’t want to leave the cold and his family), but he knew the long distance wasn’t going to work. Even the ex who cheated on him and got pregnant hasn’t been labeled as crazy. He just said he “…

Right!? I’m 35, and most guys I’ve been with were pretty diligent about pleasing me. Not all were good at it or capable, but damn if most didn’t give the old college try! But then again, guys my age were just getting access to home internet in high school, and smartphones weren’t a thing. Their porn exposure was sneaking dad’s playboy or a Victoria secret catalog. I could image some of these guys 10 years younger than me have some fucccked up ideas about sex.

Flowers are part of my grocery budget. I buy a big cheap bouquet at the Trader Joe’s or Kroger, divide it up and supplement with cuttings from outside. You can always have flowers for yourself even if you’re on a budget.

I have no shame. It’s all part of who I am now. I had a lot of fun in my pick-me days, ngl. The caveat being I ended up marrying an absolute shit-head who stole my youth. But I’m not ashamed. I’ve grown, I’ve learned. Honestly, I needed to hit my 30s for my self-esteem to fully blossom.

This is why I will only date/marry a homeowner. Show me you can manage your money and your home. Current bf owns a duplex, Has a tenant upstairs whose unit he keeps well maintained, and keeps a really nice house and garden. He works crazy long hours but still manages it all.

There is a really good book called Raising Cain- Protecting the Emotional Lives of Boys that explains how society (read: the patriarchy) constantly punishes boys for having emotions beyond anger and frustration. It punishes them for have intimate friendships with other boys. It punishes them for showing physical affection. Etc. it’s an important read imo. Especially for parents of sons, teachers, etc.

Being hv doesn’t mean being perfect all the time. It means when you make a mistake, you own it, fix it and never ever do it again. And prove over time that you meant it.

Ugh. Get yourself a man who doesn’t just want to “hang out”. Get yourself a man who plans DATES or even WHOLE ENTIRE DAYS of stuff to do!!! My HVM makes sure we have a plan pretty much every time we hang out. He also seems to have paid pretty close attention to what I like to do AND the cadence of my errands so he even takes that into consideration. (I like to go to mass on Saturday evening, I grocery shop on Wednesdays etc). And guess what? It takes very VERY little effort on his part to know t…

Find thee a man who is internet illiterate. My HVM has a Facebook with less than 100 friends who are mostly family and people he’s known since elementary school. That’s his only social media. He doesn’t own a computer (just a basic smartphone), and he never does internet stuff beyond googling stuff and shopping. It’s so refreshing. After my ex who was just steeped in porn and internet trash talk. Luddites 4 lyfe!

Having a good family was one of my absolute dealbreakers. My HV bf has like, the most wonderful dad. He’s silly and sweet and an incredible caretaker to his wife and kids. And guess what? He passed all those qualities on to his sons! Eta: my ex’s parents were total pieces of shit. His mom was emotionally / verbally abusive and his dad abandoned the family. I should’ve known better!

This!!!!! I bought myself a house. Got a promotion. THEN let a man into my life. Guess what? The guy respects the shit out of me. He encourages me at every turn. He sees my worth. He strives to be a man good enough for ME. Not the other way around. I’m still cautious. I put my kids, my family and my girlfriends first. So far my guy is a wonderful addition to my life. But he is not my life.

I’m surrounded by loving wonderful marriages. My parents, my brother, my aunts and uncles, my boyfriend’s sister and his parents, my coworkers etc. Just because mine didn’t work out (ensnared by a narc, NEVER AGAIN!) doesn’t mean that i won’t give marriage another chance with a man that proves himself to me. My pick me ways are long gone - and I’m ready for a partnership that takes me into old age.

Having a good relationship with his parents was an extremely important non-negotiable for me. I’m very close to my family and want my future husband to have the same sort of dynamic that I do. My closeness with my parents and siblings was a constant source of issues with my ex and I will not go through that again. And his toxic parents made him a toxic person too. NO THANKS!

On Hinge I never posted any overtly sexy pictures. But I did post pictures that showed my personality. My main was me at work shoving a piece of pizza in my face. Then I had a picture of me with a big smile in sunglasses and a sunhat at a concert, a silly old modeling photo of me blowing a bubble gum bubble, and then a waist up picture of me in a one piece bathing suit on the dock at my lake house. I was not making a sexy face in any of them. I was smiling or laughing in all of them. I think I s…

This is exactly what I needed to hear. I’m going to keep my skeptical side! I just have to let go of the feelings of guilt surrounding it. A lifetime of conditioning give a man my all is sooooo hard to undo. If anything, he’s the perfect guy to do this with. He really asks nothing of me, so why should I feel bad that I’m not giving him something he didn’t even ask for!?!?!?

Oh believe me I know. Lundy saved me from my marriage. I’ve kept my “trust issues” close to the vest (basically between my therapist and I), because I refuse to offer an exploitable weakness. And would definitely say my therapist isn’t a pick me. She’s a pink-piller and I’ve told her about this sub!!!

It’s impossible to compete with porn. I was a pretty major model for a while and it didn’t stop my ex from choosing porn over me. We never had sex even though I was the “Impossible beauty standard” Now, despite having had 2 kids, my HVM boyfriend can’t keep his hands off me. Our bedroom life is amazing, caring, and fun.
