It’s not the fact that he dates young that annoys me. All entitled vapid rich men do this. It’s the fact that he conveniently discards them at 24 that squicks me out. It’s just…. weird to have an arbitrary number like that.

Yes, I apologize to my husband every time I snap at him whether it’s hormones or not. It’s not an excuse to act like a bitch as you said.

I guess this is just one of those “Reddit is determined to misunderstand me” days 💀
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/22 01:23 AM

In a roundabout way, sure. But what I'm getting at is more along the lines of.... Someone saying they want a wife who never says no to him, has sex on demand, makes him delicious food, keeps the house clean, and shuts up. That's...very self gratifying. Versus someone who says they want a wife who calls him out when he's wrong, has her own opinions, stays active,...and she might also be great in bed and a good cook, but what he likes about her isn't JUST "ways that she serves me directly"
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/22 12:10 AM

this is the truest answer

Starting to wonder if anyone read the OP 🙃💀 I said IN ADDITION TO those traits. Are there things you like about women that don’t DIRECTLY benefit you? Direct benefit: good at blow jobs Not a direct benefit: loves puzzles (but you like it anyway because you think it’s cute)
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/22 11:02 PM

I don’t know, because you like them as a person? You like who they are? Wild.

My husband loves that I cook amazing food. My husband loves that I collect childhood books and toys. The first directly serves him. The second not only doesn’t serve him, but is a financial loss. The first he loves because he likes eating good food. The second he loves because it’s part of who I am, and he loves that about me. That’s all I’m talking about. I’m sure he could find a way that the second thing could be considered self gratifying, but it’s not directly beneficial.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/22 05:02 PM

Maybe I guess. Do you hold yourself to the same standards?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/22 04:53 PM
1

That’s not even remotely the point of this post 💀 And yes, there’s an enormous difference if you married someone for their huge boobs vs if you married someone because they’re kind. My intention was simply to find out if there are things ADDITIONALLY that men like in women that aren’t immediately and directly self serving. Anything can be indirectly self serving. for example, my husband LOVES what I do in bed. He LOVES that I cook great meals for him. Great! He also LOVES that I collect toys fro…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/22 04:51 PM
1

/sigh Yes. I simply meant “Are there traits you like in a woman that aren’t DIRECTLY about serving you?” Anything you like can indirectly serve you in a way. But there’s a difference between “I like women who are amazing at blow jobs” (which is fine, I’m not knocking that) and “I like that she’s passionate about ancient Mesopotamian art” SURELY you can see that those aren’t exactly the same thing.

Yes but I’m a woman, almost 30, and I too look much better than I did at 20. That doesn’t disprove OP
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/22 04:49 AM

What? So then I guess the solution is for women to live the above hypothetical arrangement - never go anywhere or do anything and wait for a guy to come along? Do you really want that?

/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/22 09:52 PM

Obviously those two things are not the same. Neither of them is better than the other, but they're different. Surely you can see the difference between A) something that is beneficial to someone else and makes them happy but has the side effect of also making you happy B) something that someone does purely FOR you, that may or may not make them happy, that is literally solely for your benefit
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/22 09:39 PM
1

Explain to me how listening to someone talk about their passions is self gratifying. Explain to me how it's exactly the same as receiving a blow job.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/22 09:16 PM
5

Really? You're not attracted to someone who, say, volunteers to help the homeless. Only when it directly benefits you? At least you're honest.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/22 09:07 PM
1

Well doesn't that depend on what you mean by independent? Because I could straw man you right now and say "You'd rather be with a woman who's never left home, who lives with her dad and mom because she's not allowed to work or hold a job or drive, who depends on her parents for everything and will be clingy to you?" Obviously that's not what you want. You want a woman who has been places, who probably owns her own car, who works and possibly has her own place, is capable and can get things done …

I literally never said it was bad to like the self-gratifying things. I literally said those words in my OP. We all do it, otherwise we'd marry the first rando who came along because we wouldn't care if they "served" us in any way. IDC what your self-serving preferences are. We all have 'em. I'm just asking, in addition to those things (which get talked about a LOT in the sub) I'm curious if men are interested in aspects of women that don't directly serve them. There's nothing wrong with liking …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/22 08:58 PM

Yes, I do know what it means. And like I said in my comment, we do (ALL) look for mates or dates with self gratifying features. But what I mean is, are there things about a person you like that don’t directly serve you? For example, I like my husband’s hobbies. They don’t serve me in any way, but I’m glad he’s happy. I want that for him. I’m sure I could twist it around and find some sort of benefit for myself in it, but that’s not why I’m glad he has hobbies. I’m taking about liking personality…

I’ll repeat what another commenter said: “I get how everything people look for in a partner is self-gratifying in some way. It’s something you want after all. However, I also think a lot of men are missing the important difference here. Pretty sure OP is talking about traits that directly serve men, vs traits that are more about the woman herself. Who she is vs what she can do for you.”

Uh, no. We’ve been married almost four years. He’s been vulnerable before. I haven’t lost attraction for him. When I say confident I don’t mean he’s literally ironclad and stoic to a fault, I meant he’s never walked around self conscious about being short. He doesn’t have little man syndrome. I mean he’s confident in his own body/looks, which makes other people notice & respect him.

I’ve Always preferred taller, but I married a man my height, 5’5”. He’s insanely confident so you don’t even notice lol. He’s also handsome. I wouldn’t prefer a short un-handsome man to be honest but then I wouldn’t prefer a tall un-handsome man either.

Immediately no. I always joke that if I were in a polygamist situation, I'd kill the other wives. Kind of joking, kind of not. I'm not the type to share my man. Surprisingly, I'm not overly jealous/suspicious though. I don't care if my husband talks to other women, I'm not paranoid, and I'm very exclusive in my marriage, but not in a neurotic way.

There are some really truly ugly people in the world, though, including women. I usually only see one a week or so, so it's a small percent of the population, but some people are just unfortunately permanently unattractive.

Everyone in this comment section is a hypocrite. Because men don’t want overly emotional women any more than women want overly emotional men. So when you say “you just can’t handle it when things get tough” that’s 1) not true and 2) I’m about not wanting to date or marry someone who is too emotional (out of control) OR completely emotionally constipated, and men don’t want that either!
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/22 12:55 AM

I’m sorry if you’ve had your vulnerability used against you in the past. That sucks. But my husband has shared the deepest messiest parts of himself with him and I’m taking those things to the grave. I’ve held him while he cries about things. He’s revealed insecurities that he’s had. And guess what? I still love him, respect him, desire him, and look up to him. I guess this makes me a magical perfect unicorn according to all the men on here. But I like to believe that GOOD women (not awful women…

When we women say we want men to show their feelings to us, we don’t mean we want them to be emotional, sobbing messes 24/7. We mean we want our men to trust us enough and feel that we’re a safe enough place to be at least a little vulnerable with their thoughts, worries and dreams. Intimacy is built through vulnerability. I can’t get close to a guy who’s totally stoic and puts on a front all day, every day.

I dress for (and each category and subcategory is depending on the day/how I feel/etc) —myself: comfort/to feel confident/ to wear an outfit that I consider aesthetically pleasing —my husband: things he finds sexy or cute/ to be a good “representative” of him (he’s generally well known & well thought of in our community and sometimes I feel embarrassed if people know I’m his wife and I look like crap lol but I also recognize that’s technically for me and my vanity) —when I was single, sometimes …

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 07:31 AM

I'd say you HAVE to view this through the lens of her newfound religion. I'm a Christian myself, and a serious one, and I truly believe sex is only for marriage. Both my (now) husband and I stuck to this rule and didn't have sex till our wedding night. If either of us had become Christians AFTER a life of premarital sex, the other one would understand that this is a new lifestyle and that the past is just that - the past. It makes no sense for Shawn to assume that Sarah will go back to her F-bud…

Because women don’t acknowledge that they have sex drives. Women don’t prioritize sexual attraction when they get married or into LTRs for some reason. Someone days I feel like a freak for having held out for so long for someone I thought was hot. For some reason the average woman pretends not to care about looks when they get married.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/22 06:02 AM
1

But it’s RP people who care about the wall
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/22 01:34 AM
1

Idk why declining fertility is even talked about here, because 1) the wall is only mentioned in regards to looks and 2) RP men do NOT care about having children or starting families, they’ve made it very clear that they want a lifestyle of pump and dumping so why would they care if a woman is fertile or not 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 05:06 PM
1

Which is hysterical to me because RP men don’t want children so why do they care?? 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 05:04 PM
7

I think 'the wall" is nonsense BS. Do some people hit it? Sure, some people age remarkably badly. A lot of people - men and women alike - let themselves go in marriage and gain weight. But people on PPD act like all women are suddenly obese hags by 26. Here's the truth: if you're an attractive person, unless something drastic happens (huge weight gain, lots of smoking/drinking/drugs/hard living) you're going to be generally attractive for the rest of your life. As an attractive 45 year old woman…

It takes effort to stay in shape as a woman. Our metabolisms are slower. It’s not impossible, but it’s not always as easy as just “don’t eat very much”
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/22 08:30 PM

Hmm, well I certainly have an expectation that women shouldn’t be insecure and weak and timid either. Men and women should both be gentle, but it’s going to look different on everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/22 07:49 PM
1

We’re not talking about what expectations women are subjected to? That’s not the subject at hand?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/22 07:09 PM
2

That has nothing to do with what I said
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/22 06:50 PM
3

That’s not gentle or feminine, my dude. That’s insecure and weak. I wouldn’t even want a woman to be unsure, make herself small, apologize for the inconvenience of existence. That’s not what gentle means. Like the other commenter said, you can be gentle 99% of the time but still be able to protect your loved ones.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/22 06:32 PM

Even in a ballet huh 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/22 07:19 AM

That’s pretty much what I was objecting to. Wearing a tutu? Feminine. Not having a dominating personality? Not really feminine, either.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/22 06:32 AM
29

What grinds my gears is dividing these things into feminine and masculine categories. Like, if you’re a guy who wears pink tutus, yes that’s pretty feminine. But if you’re a man who’s gentle, you’re not a feminine man…you’re a gentle man. Likewise with women. Yes if you’ve shaved your head and you’re swaggering around TRYING to be manly yeah that’s masculine. But if you’re a logical woman, it doesn’t make you a masculine woman…it makes you a logical woman. So unless you’re saying “feminine” men …

Short answer: I tend to be attracted to men who look like Bible characters 😂 Srs tho: My taste is for dark hair, handsome face (most important part to me) and T shaped body with some muscle definition, tho dad bod is perfectly fine. Height doesn’t matter if he’s handsome and confident. Handsome face can have a variety of meanings but generally I like dark, expressive brows, bigger/sharper nose, dark eyes, big smile/toothy smile. Edited to add: my celebrity crushes have included Hugh Jackman, Chr…

Yeah this! To me a good face is the most important thing with physical attraction
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/22 08:13 PM

And like I said hours ago, YOU don’t know that the women who wanted him were “LV” you’re just literally assuming that because it fits your narrative 😉
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 08:36 PM
1

YOU just said he has to be in high demand. Which he was. There’s more ways of being high value than rich and tall. If by your logic, high value means excessive l everyone wants him, then what does it matter what his bank account looks like?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 08:32 PM

And that’s exactly what I said he was, so….
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/22 07:46 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/22 05:25 PM
1

I’d also like to point out that I don’t think there’s an “abundance of good women”. I think I’m the modern dating landscape there’s plenty of awful women. But I don’t see a lot of women complaining on this subreddit so I wasn’t addressing them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/22 05:25 PM
1

okay that's fine. You don't know us. You don't know that my husband has been unemployed in our marriage and I've had to support us and I didn't leave him because I still cared. I'm guessing you've never been in a long term relationship or else you would understand that relationships have an element of give and take - as in I appreciate him providing for me and he appreciates everything I do for him. That's how it should be. he also "uses" me for all kinds of things, like making food, having sex …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/22 01:52 AM

And your evidence of this is - ? Go ahead, I’ll wait.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/22 12:45 AM
2

What are you smoking? Seriously, you haven’t actually given me evidence of my not caring about my husband beyond just “you listed things you like about him” 🙄
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 11:56 PM
2

What are you even talking about? If I sat down with a doctor who asked me why I’d brought my husband in and I told him “my husband has a back problem and his stomach is acting up” the doctor could be like you and say “WOW so you think your husband is nothing but health issues???” Umm, no. We’re just talking about his health issues right now. Likewise, when I have the space of a paragraph to describe the bare bones of what I think is attractive and masculine about my husband, obviously you’re not…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 11:19 PM
2

Wow that’s a lot of big words from someone who’s never met me or my husband 😂 It must be Opposite Day because I can’t remember the last time someone listing (just some of) the things they love about their partner = being a slimy bastard who doesn’t love them 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 11:01 PM
1

Then stop stopping to their low standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 08:49 PM
7

Thank you for this. Additionally, people who are like “schools are set up for boys to fail, so mean, boys need activity and fun, schools are for girls these days 😤” bro seriously show me girls who are THRIVING in the modern school environment? Shouldn’t that be ALL kids need play and activity instead of sitting on their butts all day, being expected to memorize facts?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 07:41 PM
1

You do also realize I’m talking about basics right? These are the basics that make a man masculine and attractive. Of course preferences vary.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 07:28 PM
2

Frankly I can’t fathom the kinds of circles you must be running in. Where I live, women are happy to find good men with stable jobs or men who are pursuing dreams. I guess people are more down to earth here.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 07:27 PM
2

they shouldn't have settled then
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 05:24 PM

Okay this isn't a thread about the neurodiverse dating landscape so it's irrelevant to my main point.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 05:23 PM

Well then ignore those girls who are clearly losers. You wouldn't want to date them anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 05:22 PM

Okay I've been married for less than four years so it's not like the dating market has drastically turned upside down since 2017. Promiscuous modern women want all kinds of unattainable random stuff. That doesn't make you high value.

Good grief. No. Obviously I don't think "the only way for any given man to be attractive is to place himself in harm's way of a knifeblade that's about to end his life" I'm saying if there were two men who were equal in every other way and I were at a bar and an aggressive drunk was harassing me and trying to assault me, I'd be 1000000000% more attracted to the man who stepped in and said "leave that woman alone" (despite potential risk) than the man who just sat there and blankly watched like i…

You think having a job and interests and goals in life is a magical top 20% of men?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 05:12 PM

You got me there. online dating is a cesspool of selfish people who bring nearly nothing to the table. I think that's pretty obvious.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 05:11 PM

what gives you that impression? can you give examples of where I didn't talk about him as a person?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 05:08 PM

Let’s be honest, though. A homeless drifter who somehow still gets lots of sex still isn’t a high value man, is he? It’s sad that men see other men’s value = how much sex he gets rather than how he contributes to society.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 01:49 AM
3

I agree that I prefer a good looking man (my taste) over one I don't find attractive. That's obvious. Everyone prefers attractive people. But I'm telling the defeatist men in this sub that they don't have to be Christian Grey to land a girlfriend. Is rich random man more "attractive" than poor random man? Maybe. Maybe not. Poor random man might be a poor artist and some find that more attractive because they love the passion and the creativity more than the money. Is poor random man working reta…

Everyone has different standards and preferences. But you'd be surprised at the sheer volume of men can't even reach these standards. I also think that these things should be default for menfolk (and women too, TBH) but it's kinda more and more rare these days. Besides, I'm addressing the RP crowd and I'm just trying to bring in some common sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 12:47 AM
1

Well that's unfortunate. And you aren't going to be attractive to everyone, and that's okay (I'm not either, no one is) but it sounds like you're getting attention, and that's a good thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 12:44 AM

I do care about my SO's safety. I would rather he live than anything else. I don't want him to be a soldier or go to war or start fights or anything like that. But I think there's something off about a man who's completely unwilling to stand up for people who are weaker or more vulnerable than he is.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 12:43 AM

Way to miss the entire point. Protection, like I said in my OP, is about more than just physical altercations. And that wasn't the gist of my post anyway, but okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/22 12:42 AM
2

Agree, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a post on here with women complaining about dating
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 10:31 PM

It would probably impress you if it ever happened to you. But I agree with you that protection doesn’t just involve fighting, and in fact often does not.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 10:20 PM

You’d be surprised how few men actually meet these standards 😉 even men here are telling on themselves by complaining that these standards are impossible.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 10:18 PM

Well it depends on the woman of course. But I’d like to think a high value woman is one who is hardworking in every area of her life, not lazy, knowledgeable, a good conversationalist, enjoys sex (that of course depends on her partner somewhat), has numerous life skills (can take care of herself and other people) is emotionally steady/intelligent, is confident, sexually appealing to HER partner (she doesn’t have to be universally appealing but I think people in a relationship should be attractiv…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 10:17 PM
1

I think you’re talking to yourself at this point…. I already said that it’s extremely rare to need protection from physical altercations and that there are many various ways of being protective/brave etc. you’re kind of just repeating what I said back at me.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 10:13 PM
3

It’s useless to argue against this defeatist mindset. I also have lived with seeing hot, perfect women getting asked out all the time and getting all the male attention. Guess what? That’s life.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 10:11 PM
2

Oh boy. Ok. Well, I’d like to think protection goes way beyond just fights (how often do this happen in daily life??) but other areas as well, like just his physical presence, standing up for you etc. You might not always NEED it but knowing he’s there and willing to step in if necessary is a masculine trait. I’m not attracted to men who just passively sit by while vulnerable people are harmed, physically, emotionally etc
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:45 PM
1

Of course that plays a part. I’m just saying it’s not the only important thing or that you can just expect to get into a relationship because you look good, Period.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:30 PM
1

What do you mean started off extremely unlucky? My standards for partners has always actually been very high. I’m trying to encourage men here. I’m trying to tell men that they still have a chance even if they’re not the most successful, handsome, rich man in the room, they can still have success. Again, otherwise the human race would be extinct.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:27 PM
3

I never said physical confrontation….. protection is different. Starting a fight is NOT what I’m talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:25 PM
0

It depends on the other men. Are they the RP definition? All tall supermodels? Are they allowed to talk and get to know each other a little bit? Too many variables.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:19 PM
2

But this means you think you’ve got a “aha!” gotcha moment. “Right so he’s married because he’s charismatic! Which negates the other points.” I’m saying charisma is great for being attractive and getting to know people, but these other four points are what makes a man valuable in RP terms.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:04 PM
4

Strike the rich part and that’s what my husband is. These things help, but they don’t provide value beyond just being sexy.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:02 PM
2

There are situations in life where there is no bouncer or police. Having a man who’s willing be in danger to save you is attractive. If it’s not attractive to you, okay…. But I think most women would disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 09:00 PM
3

Overcome his pitfalls and end up with someone 😂 he’s not a hunchback who was lucky to finally beg someone to marry him after fifty years of isolation. Yes he’s charismatic and interesting and handsome, but those things ALONE do NOT make you high value, man or woman. If ALL you’re bringing to the table is your looks and sex appeal, that’s not providing VALUE. A house is not valuable if it looks nice but it’s rotting away. A human isn’t valuable *solely in terms of the dating market since every hu…

What? I was taking about when he was single.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:41 PM

But if you put my husband in a room with five other average men, he’s already above them because he’s confident, doesn’t care what they think, personable, has loads of integrity, is passionate about his job, loves his work and treats everyone around him with respect. He stands out no matter what crowd he’s in.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:40 PM
2

Protection is cringe? So if I’m a married woman it’s cringy if I want my husband to try to protect me in grr event of a break in? 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:38 PM
3

I don’t think that having a life plan, interests, and self improvement have anything to do with not being yourself or killing yourself 😳 these things are all attainable…. Remember how I said it’s important to work on these things, not be perfect?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:37 PM

Then why were so many women interested in him? 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:35 PM

And most neurodiverse people will end up in relationships with other neurodiverse people so that’s not a problem/not who we’re talking about.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:34 PM

There was at least one instance where a bar fight was breaking out and he put himself between me and other men even though they were bigger than him. That was brave and attractive to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:33 PM
2

Because I knew his values? if someone is looking for a job and has a good work ethic and is looking for a wife or LTR you can assume it means he’ll do his best to be a provider…. He’s not going to just keep all that money and say “well? How are you going to eat this week?”
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:32 PM
1

I’m not even talking about money btw (I thought that was clear when I said I married a relatively poor man) - I just mean someone who’s willing to work, not expecting the woman to work for him or be past his whole life.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:30 PM
1

You don’t care about protection? So if a man got in your face at a bar and was threatening to assault you, you’d be okay with your husband sitting by just watching and sipping his beer?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 08:29 PM
3

My husband is also handsome and we share a lot of interests and values, so that helps obviously. But as he stands alone, those are the things I think give him value in the traditional worldly sense. He’s also short and we were virgins, which are apparently two death strikes according to the RP community but that didn’t exactly scare the women away.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:59 PM
2

No 🙄 but he was on a life trajectory for it. He was going to school and had ambition and plans.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:50 PM

Most women aren’t having sex either? 😂 it’s not like 1% of all men are having sex with 99% of all women. Both sexes are lonely, both sexes find love.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:39 PM
5

Bro women aren’t lusting after apathetic basement dwellers either. You have to admit that being a self respecting man with passions in life is attractive across the board, LTR or not. Why do men care what crazy airhead women who have sex with garbage men think?? Ignore those useless 19 year olds.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:38 PM

I was not with my husband at the time when he displayed these traits. It was part of what drew me to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:36 PM
1

You’re a broken record at this point, repeating RP talking points that have nothing to do with what I said.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:35 PM
1

What? I didn’t say it’s not hard to fight off an assailant 😂 I just said the willingness to try to protect a woman is more attractive than if a guy was like “you’re on your own, good luck trying to fend off a r*pist” My husband is short but back when we weren’t even dating he put himself between me and a bar fight that was breaking out. Could those men have killed him if they wanted? Sure, probably. He was outnumbered too. But the fact that he was willing to protect me was extremely attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:34 PM
2

Disagree. I’ve put a lot of effort into self improvement. Yes random men have always hit on me, but I didn’t get real interest from HVM until I put effort into maintaining weight, looking good, being a good conversationalist, having many passions in life, etc. I’m married now because I have a lot of value beyond my looks. Men have been interested in me beyond just my looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:32 PM

Then ignore those women. I’m above a 6 and I can tell you right now that unless you grew up with millionaires and impossibly high standards, most reasonable women (again, ignore the crazy ones) are looking to date men who are protective, passionate and have interests in life. And before you say “that’s only for LTR” again, I’m literally talking about what makes a man masculine & attractive across the board, not just marriage material. (Unless you can point me in the direction of the thousands of…

/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/22 07:03 PM
1

No, these are the traits that made me want to date my husband in the first place? I’m saying it’s attractive to have a job, interests, and passions in life, and that’s what makes you a high value man universally. Guys who want to date don’t have to be millionaires, otherwise the human race would be extinct by now. Also I’m not an older woman but thanks 🙄😂 I’ve only been married for a few years.

Hobbies don’t matter as in “she’s so interested in my hobbies and likes me because I’m into welding”. Hobbies matter because they show you’re a man who fills his time with challenging, self improving activities. A man whose hobby is welding > a man whose hobby is scrolling on his phone

Being able to “read the room” is essential and basic. All humans should be able to do this. Basically - if someone is sad, don’t get joky. If someone is mad or there’s tension, don’t ask them for favors. Just understanding what the people around you are feeling, even on a basic level, goes a LONG way. You’d be surprised how many men see their wives overloaded with chores and stress and come into the room obliviously asking things like “So when are you going to clean our room???” Bro. Being able …

It’s just the addiction, honestly. The thing about makeup is that it enhances femininity. Makeup adds to feminine features that are already there: large eyes, pink cheeks, full/red lips, long eyelashes. Considering that 1) what makes a man attractive (to hetero women, which is the group this question is presumably aimed at) is generally masculine features, and 2) the only makeup that could MAYBE make a man “more attractive” is contouring, and 3) that might give him 1 extra point (so going from a 4 to a 5, not a 4 to a 9) I’d say …

I want you to know I don’t blame women for being harassed or catcalled or anything. I’m asking because SO MANY women complain (which they have every right to do) about this being a daily thing, or happening more times than they can count etc. and I can recall the times it’s happened to me and it’s probably been less than ten times in my life. I wondered what the common denominator was. So far my findings show that it’s mostly women that live in big cities or densely populated areas, which I gues…

Online it was because they’d stalked my Reddit profile. It’s still an extremely rare occurrence, which I could, in truth, chalk up to looking average without makeup….. but then it doesn’t happen much when I’m IN makeup, either. I think the common denominator is simply where you liv…

yes but then if it's not asked for or consented to, then it's r*pe. I like the feeling of being so desired my husband "loses control" so to speak, but if he ACTUALLY lost control and hurt me or did something I didn't like, it would make me lose trust and scare me. it's gotta be consensual.

Guys who are like "I'm not wearing a tux to get gas" are missing the point. the point here is to find out what clothes look GOOD on you, even casual stuff. there's a good looking version of even the most casual clothes. find out what shapes and fits suit YOUR body, face, etc best and build your wardrobe around that. that'll make a great impression no matter where you are.

1

yes it's acceptable and even attractive to wear jeans and a tee shirt, but not if they don't fit you or look wierd. learn what tee shirts actually look good on your body. find out what kinds of jeans work for your legs. don't just buy default baggy jeans and a too-long tee shirt. you won't stand out against the guy in jeans that fit him great and a perfectly-sized tee.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 06:45 PM
2

to be fair, I think a lot of these observations, from BOTH sexes, are subconscious. I would never analyze the details of a man's outfit and think "he's not for me - his watch is gold instead of silver" or some other superficial nonsense. but all together, seeing a man who knows what looks good on him and knows what fits his body well, the total package, is going to make a great first impression over a man who's sloppy and careless.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 06:43 PM

yeah and you're not attracted to them. this is advice for if you want to be attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 06:41 PM

I read this whole thing and almost fell off my chair because that entire list - minus the money and providing part - is what women are expected to do for men, down to the last detail. lol Get it? men and women both have to make an effort to attract each other. it's normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 06:40 PM
1

But, if those jeans and sweaters fit you well, and the look suits you, then that's all you need. No one's asking you to put on a tux for a first date - just know what looks good on you and what doesn't. once you've acquired a basic wardrobe of clothing staples that fit you well and show off what's great about you, you don't have to think when you get dressed.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 06:38 PM

yes this, exactly this.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/22 06:36 PM

The point is just to assemble a wardrobe that you know looks good on you, not to wear a James Bond suit every time you run out to get gas. A smart tactic is knowing what shapes and clothing items tend to look good on you and what things to avoid. Then get rid of everything that looks awful on you. That way you can have casual clothes in shapes that are flattering and with zero effort, you'll always look good. For example, I know I will NEVER look good in a baggy tee shirt. So I just got rid of a…

True, which is why I made sure that the man I was interested in* saw me both dressed up and way dressed down. I wanted him to know how great I could look and also how awful I could look lol. That doesn't mean I didn't make a basic effort to look good, though, generally. It really does help. He made that effort too and it's part of why I was drawn to him. *we're married now

lol why would I give a taller guy a chance if I’m already married? I’m not delusional, I know people get older and that’s okay. We’ll get old together and find each other attractive as we age. The important thing to me was to find someone I was honestly attracted to, and wanted to have sex with without forcing myself. I’m thankful I found him.

https://www.bodybuilding.com/images/2016/may/cary-higginbotham-transformation-header-v2-830x467.jpg The guy on the left. He’s got a bit of a dad bod, squishy stomach, but he’s got a good shape overall (broad shoulders instead of narrow) and if he flexed it did anything manual with his arms you’d be able to see muscle. Obviously isn’t ripped but has strength.

This is by far the crux of the matter
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 09:31 PM

How on earth does that not make reasonable sense?? Man A is shorter than average but otherwise attractive in every other way. He can expect to still attract women overall, though not as many as if he’d been tall. Man B is shorter than average but unattractive in every other way. Can he assume that he’s being reject SOLELY because of his height, or is that just part of why he’s unattractive? Please show me where I lost you.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 09:29 PM
2

Yes I know this helps. That was the whole point of my post. Would women reject an otherwise attractive man who was short, thereby proving that women ONLY care about men being tall? Or are other factors at play, such as the simple fact that perhaps the short man has other undesirable qualities?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 07:30 PM
1

I have no idea why I’m getting downvoted on this. Does it not make sense that an attractive but short man has a reasonably good chance with most women and that an unattractive short man can expect that it’s not JUST that he’s short as the reason he’s being rejected?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 07:22 PM
1

Nah I just like fairly muscular men (he’s not jacked; he’s just in good shape) who are handsome, regardless of height. I always knew I had to marry an attractive man Because sex appeal is high on my priority list. It’s just that height doesn’t factor in there if he’s otherwise Good looking
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 06:27 PM
-6

I’m average height for a woman so yes he’s pretty short. My point is, would a woman REALLY reject a man JUST because he’s short? I’m saying if he was attractive (to YOU) in every other way but still short, would you reject him? As in, he’s amazing but short so it’s a no-go? If i rejected him because he was also ugly and boring and cruel, it would not be BECAUSE he’s short. That part would be incidental
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 05:58 PM
-1

If he was ugly, boring, mean and homeless and also short, I wouldn’t have dated him. But it’s not the fact that he’s SHORT that would have turned me off. It was all the things. The shortness is incidental at that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 05:54 PM

Are you a woman? Asking if this is your personal opinion AS a woman or if this is something you’re assuming for the whole sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 05:53 PM

I’m sorry but I’m going to have to disagree there. Unless someone drastically ages in an unflattering way in that length of time, I can’t actually think of a 20 yr old who looks BETTER than a 30 yr old, provided they take reasonable care of themselves. Think about Scarlett Johansson at 20 vs 30. She looks young and fresh and fit at both ages (so you can make the excuse that she aged or got fat) but at 20 she looks kind of pudgy and babyish and at 30 she looks womanly.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 05:10 PM
0

Yes, agree, that’s an essential component of my Marriage. But I don’t see where she says to him “I’m not attracted to you” The fact that 20 yr old version of her would have have swiped left on a photo of him on an OLD site Ten years ago means exactly nothing
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 09:24 AM
4

Idk about that, soooo many actually get MORE attractive. I was a baby faced woman with greasy skin and awkward as heck bangs at 19-20 yrs old. Doubt anyone wanted me at that age. Now at nearly 30 I’ve mastered flattering makeup, wear bras that fit me, know how to complement my shape, I’m unafraid to wear the skin tight red velvet dress etc. guarantee the average American male would choose me now vs me at 20 because the whole package is confident and sexy Vs insecure and awkward.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/22 09:20 AM

“Aged decently into their 30s” 💀 Legitimate question: are you a teenager? Because genuinely no one thinks people, men OR women, are in any way “aged” in their thirties unless they’ve smoked a pack a day since they were twelve. Most 30 something year olds look way younger than they are. 30 something year olds that look their age are still generally…attractive? Normal? Not old or dumpy looking? I’m going to be 30 at the end of the year and I could pass for 22, no questions asked. And that’s not ex…

I'd think he was delusional and wonder what possessed him to be interested in the first place (he's a guy who thinks MMA fighting is STUPID so it would literally have to be an alien in his body for this to happen) But if it DID happen, I'd be embarrassed for him, but I'd still love him and comfort him. Him not winning an MMA fight wouldn't make me lose respect for him; someone has to lose the match and it doesn't matter who it is. It doesn't make you any less of a man.

Y'all realize you can be both, right?? My husband was both amazing husband/boyfriend material AND hot enough to be hookup material. It doesn't just have to be one or the other....some men have good personalities and qualities for a relationship AND are hot enough for sex! who knew right? /s
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/22 04:46 AM
1

for sure, for sure....but we're not talking about high class victorian women struggling to make matches, I was referring to OP (of the thread) who claimed that men aren't getting dates because society sees all men as disposable bodies to ship off to war. I told him (her?) that can't be the case because during WWII, that was LITERALLY happening to men (and it's not at all happening now) and yet there was no dating crisis and men were finding plenty of dates and wives.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/22 12:25 AM
2

Is it 1942 or....? Because during WWII, America lost TONS of her "disposable" men yet many of them were married, had girlfriends etc. I don't think the problem is that society just looks at a man and thinks "ship him out to fight the war!" (what war?? when is this happening today?) because back when it WAS happening, most men were getting plenty of women.

and 5. male validation (from one straight male to another straight male) means that it's a non-sexual thing - they're validating their friend just for who they are, or how they look, or their good qualities, etc - not because they want to get in their pants!
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/22 04:19 AM

I definitely agree with this premise; the world used to be ALL about organically meeting other people. Communities were smaller, but everyone had marriage in mind and it was easy to meet folks within your league and social status just by going to the store, going to church, meetings, having close relationships with your neighbors, etc. It's really hard for people these days. Women, too, but I think men have it harder because men are just very unpicky.

Still interesting that you think "lavishing someone with love attention and affection" is exactly the same as "having sex"

When I was 13-15 I was into pretty boys like Hayden Christiansen and Orlando Bloom. When I got to about 16 years old I started liking more rugged, masculine men who were hairy and had beards, like Gerard Butler and Hugh Jackman. I’ve liked that type ever since and can’t even imagine liking pretty boys anymore. Very young girls are more drawn to younger looking men. If you’re a woman tho and you’re attracted to those guys Idk what to think

I was into pretty boys when I was a young teen. Orlando Bloom and Hayden Christiansen were my main crushes. A few short years later and I couldn’t believe I ever was into them!! /r/PurplePillDebate22/06/21 06:37 PM

Yeah, maybe also only women can actually smell the opposite sex? Women have much higher smell abilities than men do, period. So it could also be a case of men not even being able to smell women lol
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/21 05:03 PM

I think what is being overlooked here is that MOST of us women probably want someone who we are sexually attracted to. It’s pretty simple. And a lot of guys just don’t meet that description despite there being nothing wrong with them. Just not our type.

Isn't it the obvious answer that it depends based on different couple's situations?? The mental gymnastics are unnecessary. If the couple is: a stay at home wife with no kids + a husband who works 60 hrs a week at a lumber mill, I think it's obvious who works more. If the couple is: a stay at home wife with five kids whom she homeschools + a husband who's a receptionist at an office, I think it's obvious who works more.

A little bit of fat, even to the point of squish is still totally attractive if the underlying body SHAPE is good. A man with broad shoulders and chest and a narrower lower body is automatically going to carry weight better than a guy with skinny legs, narrow shoulders and a beer belly. My ideal male body is just starting off with that “Dorito” shape, everything else is just kind of a nice bonus.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/21 06:47 PM

That I can totally agree with! You gotta define success in your own way and use your own methods (within reason lol!!) and that’s going to look different for different people (and there is probably a dividing line between the genders at least a little) I think we agree, but I perhaps didn’t understand your premise. My bad!

This is an interesting perspective. I don’t consider myself super ambitious, but I also don’t think it’s necessarily better to “rest on your laurels”, so to speak, as a woman, and just “enjoy” coasting through life on your beauty and charm. it would be to my detriment to pretend that beauty, youth, charm and sex appeal are irrelevant (for myself or other women) and raging against that reality of biology is unproductive. I think the main issue when men say “I want you to cook, clean, and have sex with me” - is not that it’s too much, it’s that it’s not enough. Let me explain: those irritating memes that women post are the exact equivalent. “I just want tacos and for you to tell me I’m pretty”. The thing that sucks is if you boil the relationship down to the bare things you want from your partner - sex, food, shelter, compliments, money, etc. the relationship starts to feel like a transaction only. We’re just going to go in circles. How many men meeting a tinder date in the city are afraid their female date is going to rape them? It would seem odd for a guy to do that because it’s unusual but it shouldn’t be offensive to check up on a stranger regardless of gender. And yes women meet up with strangers on dates all the time. Have you heard of tinder????
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 06:29 AM
2

You just said most rape happens from strangers on the street and then when I said it’s usually family members you basically said “yeah exactly” so which is it? It’s really blowing my mind that you’re against women doing background checks on strangers before meeting them alone in person.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/21 05:59 AM

How old are you? Because date rape is extremely old and it’s very much a myth that rapes and kidnappings and murders happen from random strangers. Usually it’s within the victim’s own family. I don’t think it’s at all weird or overly cautious to look into a stranger before meeting up with them and frankly people of either gender who have a problem with that raise some red flags.

I think confusion and heartache arise from misunderstanding in this area: I would call my husband more emotional than the typical man and yet I'm not disgusted by him. I'm actually very attracted to him and specifically admire his emotional healthiness. Why? How is this possible? It's because he's able to emote at the appropriate time in the appropriate way. For example: crying or shedding a tear because you're moved by the beauty of a live music performance, or a sunset, or because you're touch…

I think your approach would be successful if you cut out step 1 from your two-step system. Look at step 2 - it’s really all you need. If you start with step one, you’re starting with generalizations and assumptions about humans that you’ll overlay on every subsequent interaction with women. Just cut straight to step 2 - know yourself and the personalities of the women you engage with. (And yes I’d give the same advice to women. It’s useless to generalize about men beyond the very very broadest a…

Oh I agree. I think this entire thing is unbelievably stupid. I’m trying to get others to see it by pointing out that the people who invented the whole alpha/beta “system” also have invented other “types” of males, I.e. it’s not just two types, even according to the inventors of A/B. My overall point at the end of the day is that everyone is an individual and this A/B nonsense is just that - nonsense. But I wanted to point out that even within the system, it’s acknowledged that there’s more than…

My guesses are: The thrill and the tension of courtship is gone. You got ‘em and now you’re no longer chasing each other. Effort is now zero. You know boring intimate details about each other now. The mystery is gone, and now you know all about their farts and annoying habits. Domestication is a boner killer for both sexes. You’re not wild and free anymore, you’re doing mundane, unsexy things together 97% of the time. It’s hard to see the carefree biker your husband was or the mysterious artist …

If RP guys were so brave with their "dread game" which they talk up constantly, they'd divorce their sexless wives and go back to the bachelor lifestyle. The truth is that RP men like the convenience of the marriage lifestyle (someone to take care of the kids, the house, etc) but without the vulnerability that comes with real intimacy so they'll find a way to justify what is, to them, the best of both worlds - staying married to their live-in mommy-maids while having sex on the side with as many…

There are millions of unattractive women. It’s not just men who suffer from the feeling of not being attractive to the opposite sex. Just go out in public and you’ll understand that there are quite a few men and women who probably don’t get a lot of attention. It’s really really sad and it really really sucks for both genders.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/20 10:26 PM
1

Nah. I like masculinity. Beards, muscular bodies, body hair, men’s clothing, deep voices, etc. HOWEVER there are things that a lot of people here would consider “feminine” that I appreciate in a man: gentleness, good fashion sense, compassion, etc. My husband is a male dancer and dresses somewhat flamboyantly but he’s still masculine rather than feminine and I appreciate that.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/20 10:23 PM
1

Women who are promiscuous don’t like virginity in men. Women (like me) who value exclusivity in sex and want to save sex for marriage want a man with the same worldview. It’s simple - stay in your lane. If you wanna be a hoe, expect to hook up with hoes. If you want a virgin, expect to adhere to those values as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/20 10:16 PM

Here’s the thing - I’m a reasonably attractive woman with a curvy figure (I mean hourglass, not just chonky) and I rarely got asked out or hit on when I was single and even less now that I’m married. Why is this so? Maybe it’s a vibe I have, maybe because I generally aim for comfort rather than sex appeal when getting ready for the day, either way, TRP men claim I should be swarmed with men begging to have sex with me but tbh I got very little male attention when I was single. Not every woman is…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/20 10:09 PM

Okay you didn’t use the word pretend but you said men wanting virgins is “the truth” and the church “frames” it as being God’s will to make it more palatable... isn’t that exactly what “pretending” means even if you didn’t use the actual word “pretend”? 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 10:47 PM

Okay then we fundamentally DON’T agree on the premise at all. You: men want virgins so they pretend it’s what God wants too Me: actually some people believe that’s legitimately what God wants and live accordingly You: that’s what I said! Me: 🧐
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 10:29 PM
1

Excellent that we agree then! I figured we thought the same basic things but the part that tripped me up is where you said that the actual truth is that men want virgins but that sounds pervy so the church makes it sound like you’re doing it for the Lord..... did I misunderstand that part? Here’s what you said: Growing up Christian, the women aren’t taught to “be virgins for a future husband because that’s what he sexually desires.” That’s the truth. But framing it that way is quite repulsive to…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 09:38 PM

A few points I want to make here: I was a virgin when I got married at nearly 26 years old. I am what you’d consider “religious” and the whole part about the church pretending that virginity is “for the Lord” while it’s really for men needs a like more discussion. Certainly historically, and even now in ultra conservative circles, women and girls are made to feel like sex objects because they’re told explicitly that they have to remain pure to ATTRACT a godly man. As if that’s the highest goal o…

I think in a LTR where both parties have given overall consent to each other to do whatever (within reason) to each other, spontaneous, ravenous kissing is so so sexy and my favorite. Nah, flirting literally implies interest, even if not “I want to marry you” kind of interest flirt /flərt/ verb 1. behave as though attracted to or trying to attract someone, but for amusement rather than with serious intentions. You can flirt with a woman if you’re not interested in her - it’s acting. But you can’t ACT like you’re uninterested and call that flirting. That’s literally the opposite of flirting lol
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/20 02:35 AM

So then... you DO care, gotcha 😉
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/20 02:25 AM

That hasn’t been my experience so obviously it’s not a universal rule.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/20 09:43 PM

Hard disagree here. Flirting is appealing and sexually attractive and it can’t be done when a man is acting like he doesn’t care about a woman. I agree that a man throwing himself at a woman is unattractive but there is certainly a middle ground.

Hmm, can't agree - I've never found men in their 20s to be as attractive as men in their 30s. I think generally humans look good in their 30s unless they've let themselves go. Men and women alike usually have lost baby fat, have grown into their features, know what looks good on them and have a confidence that's missing in your 20s. A lot of men have better facial hair in their 30s as well :)
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/20 05:30 AM
3

I don't know about that. There's a confidence that can come with age. A knowing of oneself and what looks good that can be missing when you're 22. I know I looked a little awkward at that age, and now at 28 I look more mature and womanly. I'm also evolving my clothing and makeup skills. Granted, I have a youthful looking face so I could pass for early 20s still at this age, but I know plenty of women who take good care of themselves who at the age of 35+ now possess a confidence and self-knowled…

This is getting all rather too metaphysical for me, but simply put, yes, I love my husband for who he is. It helps that he knows who he is really well and is comfortable with it. That's part of the key - it can be harder to answer the question if you're floundering around or being "someone else". My husband is unabashedly himself and I've loved him for it for years before we were even dating. There were people in my friend circle who also found him attractive and other people in my friend circle…

I don't agree with OP's premise. The problem isn't that women aren't "good enough" to not get pumped and dumped and there isn't anything that those women can "work on" to avoid having that happen to them. They're just having sex with the wrong men. They're at cross-purposes. The solution is to NOT have casual sex and wait for a guy who also is interested in a LTR.

What I’m saying is my husband would never intentionally flirt with another woman to make me jealous. That’s immature and gross. He’s a naturally friendly and gregarious guy so his interactions with other people could be taken as flirting if I were insecure, but I know he’s just being himself. I only feel secure because I know he’d never INTENTIONALLY flirt with another woman. Seeing other women attracted to him is sexy, but not the other way around. Neither of us is into that.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/20 04:45 AM
3

It’s thrilling when I realize other women find my husband attractive, yes, but him flirting with other women is gross and a form of needless mind games and manipulation that leads to insecurity and resentment. I like my man to be faithful in word and deed and find that plenty appealing. There are other ways of being spicy and sexy that don’t involve him making me feel smaller than a mouse.

So the solution is to share him with other women? I agree that it’s attractive to have your man (or woman TBH) not cling to you constantly, doing their own thing at least part of the time! Omg the premise is that colored hair is undesirable by good high value men and it speaks to psychological problems and daddy issues... you’re overthinking it, my friend. Some people, like me, get it done because it’s FUN and interesting, not as a chance to rebel against dad or make oneself unattractive to men as I pointed out when I said that my dad was fine with it and my husband loved it....................
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/20 09:18 AM

Huh, I had pink hair a couple years ago...I was homeschooled, I’m a devout Christian, love my dad, and did it because it seemed fun! I’m thinking of doing it again, maybe a different color... oh, and my husband encourages it because he thinks it would be cute and fun! Colored hair and/or tatts don’t ALWAYS mean that. What do you think about men with tattoos?

I’m 28 so I’m basically a corpse right there with you. It doesn’t matter that I look 22 and have a sexually fulfilling life with my husband whom i love more than anyone else and who loves me the same way, because I’m basically 30 and my husband is short so he’s a beta cuck and I’m obviously cheating on him behind his back. /s

Seriously tho how is it my husband has always been sexually appealing to me even while he had no money AND is sexually faithful to me? Isn’t that some kind of red pill impossibility!? I wouldn’t call him an alpha at all, neither would I call him a beta. He’s worthy of so much more than derogatory generalizations.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:34 AM
1

Haha I thought incel talk was banned here
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:34 AM
2

Nah. You can be sexy and exciting without treating people like garbage. You can be responsible AND interesting. Confident AND kind. Sexually attractive AND financially stable. *surprised pikachu face *
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:33 AM
3

Correct which is why it’s unfortunate that there’s such a glamorization of “alpha” men - they’re usually just a-holes
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:30 AM
1

Also any man who calls himself an alpha or uses the words “alpha” or “beta” is automatically not alpha, just saying
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:29 AM
1

Which is why the classification is 100% BS
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:28 AM
2

What I’m more accurately trying to get at is that I think the majority of men are a pretty equal blend of the two. I rarely see men who are “alphas” and men RPers would consider “betas” are actually just normal men learning normal lives, not sexless losers like TRP makes them out to be.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:27 AM
1

I guarantee you, zero women call men alphas or betas 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 03:25 AM
1

Then why are men divided into alpha and beta men???
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 10:01 PM
1

That’s not remotely what I’ve seen of RP
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 09:57 PM
1

RPers don’t 😉
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 09:46 PM
1

Here’s the thing: TRP is an extremely pessimistic view of relationships. Not without reason, since there are SO MANY failed relationships out there and so many awful people and the dating pool is shallow and muddy, so I understand. But the premise is based on the idea that women are totally mercenary. And while it makes sense to protect your heart by believing that no women will accept you for who you are and it’s all a game of who is the sexiest or richest (since it appears that way), unattract…

I guess I can’t really explain what I’m talking about. You said all you want is for your wife to be sexually attracted enough to you to want to top your clothes off at least a few times a week. Naturally! I feel that way about my husband, and he feels the same about me. My whole point is that TRP says that there are certain things you can’t or shouldn’t do because your sexual attractiveness will diminish and I’m saying that’s the natural ebb and flow of life...I don’t want my husband to feel lik…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 04:38 AM
2

Of course you want that. Everyone does. That’s how I feel about my husband. But I’m not “on” ALL THE TIME nor do I have to be to prove that I find him sexually appealing. I don’t feel like ripping his clothes off every minute of every day. Sometimes my mind is on something else or I’m tired or whatever.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 04:13 AM
2

That’s what I mean tho, I have a baseline of sexual attraction to my husband. Him getting sick or crying or being injured or losing his job doesn’t make him less sexy in my eyes. Also those things aren’t a turn on either, but it doesn’t matter because I am always attracted to him and always up for sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 02:49 AM
2

But it’s exhausting to be turned on all the time so it’s more realistic that sometimes a woman won’t be feeling horny... but it doesn’t mean she’s overall not sexually attracted to you
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/20 02:42 AM
0

Ahhh you mean women don’t want sexual attention from random men unasked for. Yep I’m the same way. But from our partners, husbands, etc? It’s the best!!!!
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 10:44 PM
1

That sounds like a sad, fake, life with no real intimacy. My husband and I do chores together. Also, my husband’s parents celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary together (they have six sons) and his dad has always been open with his emotions as well. They are very happily married and with six kids it’s not like they had a dry sex life lol
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 08:37 PM
1

I agree both parties should make an effort to be appealing to each other and not just give up, but arguably that shouldn’t get in the way of being human.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 06:41 PM
1

That’s understandable, I think it’s obviously wise not to pour out your heart when you first meet someone and that’s definitely not what I’m suggesting here. It’s more for RPers in LTRs who refuse to open up.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:46 PM
1

I’m sorry that’s happened to you. I think in this day and age, so many people are unwilling to get vulnerable, men and women alike, and aren’t looking to foster lasting life relationships between the sexes but just want a fast paced hookup lifestyle and anything genuine gets too “human” and makes people run away. If you’re looking for real connection and a LTR, keep looking. She’s out there somewhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:33 PM
2

Yeah I know it’s rich coming from me, but honestly one of the things that attracted me TO my husband when we weren’t even dating yet WAS his ability to express his emotions. Again, not to be a whiny, slobbering mess, but he didn’t try to repress or hide them to impress me to appear stoic or sexually appealing and I found that to be very refreshing and attractive and I suspect I’m not the only woman in the world who feels the same way.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:28 PM
2

Thanks, we do have a great relationship. :) But if that’s the way women are, then I guess 99% of women are lacking compassion, empathy, understanding and a tender heart, and that’s pretty sad. When I see a man express true emotion, my heart goes out to him. I don’t despise him. But as I’m learning as I read this thread, I’m the only one who feels this way? I guess then it’s good my husband and I found each other because according to you, any other woman would hate him for who he is. :-/ (Also, q…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:06 PM

Well that is sad and that’s really too bad that that happens - the way we treat and perceive men who display a healthy amount of emotion really needs to change.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 04:38 PM
1

Ummm no? Idk what women you’re hanging out with but no
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 04:33 PM
1

Of course, I’m talking about being free to be as emotional (or not!) as YOU want to be. Some people just aren’t very emotional naturally. That’s ok. But I don’t like any mindset that says you’re not ALLOWED to be emotional or share your heart.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 09:41 AM
2

Sure you don’t have to cry all the time, that’s not really appealing in anyone, even women. But I’m talking about being vulnerable, not necessarily only crying. In that situation where the guy cried because someone was mean at work, that would be unappealing because it’s kinda whiny, but if he had a chat with his wife where he said, “you know what, there’s someone at work who’s really been getting me down and as a result my mental health hasn’t been great lately, I could use some encouragement o…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 09:39 AM

Nah my entire point is that life is full of unsexy activities and people need to get over it and get to living instead of worrying if they’re sexually appealing all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 09:32 AM
1

Yeah I didn’t go to middle school so I didn’t experience what it’s like. Here’s the thing: men and women all have emotions! It’s just men that are encouraged to stuff theirs away because it’s “unappealing” when they express them. I think it’s mostly the fault of society and women alike for shaming men when they choose to express their emotions. And yes, other men. It’s not feminine to experience or express emotion, it’s human. My statement about my husband crying 6x a year is just an estimate, i…

But oh my gosh that’s exactly my point. Everyone loses sex appeal eventually. Life isn’t an endless carousel of sex appeal. Do you lose so-called masculinity by being a good dad? Maybe! But who CARES is my entire point. There’s more to life than being manly and sexy all the time! Sometimes to be practical and live life you gotta drop a few “masculinity points”. Do you think women are tantalizingly sexy while they’re bloated and bleeding after childbirth? No, but that’s part of having kids. Ya ca…

Men are taken seriously when they’re angry and it’s the only emotion they’re allowed to show. I’m okay with the whole range - unbridled joy, sadness, depression, insecurity, etc. I promised to love through sickness and health that that includes emotions.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 09:06 AM

I’m sorry you feel that way. My husband has been vulnerable around me plenty of times. He’s not a crying, emotional wreck, but he’s opened his heart to me and he’s admitted mistakes and told me about the dark things in his past. He’s cried. And obviously I’m more emotional overall than him. He may cry 6x a year and I’ll cry 6x a month. But he’s ok with showing his emotions because he’s secure in his masculinity. I’m not disgusted by him. I’m not turned off by him. I don’t feel like he’s not stro…

/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 08:56 AM

Nope, we didn’t have sex till we were married. And I let him see me without makeup when my attraction to him was still one-sided! It’s almost as if there can be a tangible benefit to being yourself around the person you love if the two of you are mature.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 08:55 AM
3

Yeah but I do think makeup is fake lol and I’m a woman. I rarely wear it and when I was initially interested in my (now) husband and we weren’t dating yet, I intentionally spent plenty of time with him in no makeup and regular boring clothes (we traveled together so he saw me in sweats and dirty hair) so that he’d know the REAL me, in addition to times he’d seen me dressed up or with makeup. I didn’t want to be with someone who liked me for how attractive I am with makeup or have to keep that st…

Well that is really sad and I’m sorry for anyone whose partner uses their vulnerability as ammo for attack... that’s borderline abusive and not ok. I’m not talking about that tho, I’m talking about people who refuse to open up because it doesn’t make their partner horny... the point I’m making is that life is chock full of things that don’t make our partners horny and that’s just how life goes.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 06:29 AM
2

K reread my OP, I’m not talking about the first time you meet someone, obviously everyone tries to make the best impression there. Zero men go into a first date thinking they’ll score if they wallow in self pity and wail and sob on the floor. I’m talking about daily life in a LTR
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 06:24 AM
5

No investment into a lasting relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 06:23 AM

Notice I didn’t say anything bad about being sexual.... it’s just valuing sex appeal over other more practical, realistic concerns. “Can’t cry, that’s not sexy.” “Won’t way the dishes, that’s not sexy.” “Must never appear without makeup, that’s not sexy” Honestly it just sounds like extreme insecurity.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 06:16 AM

At the end of the day my point is that it’s not sustainable to live TRP lifestyle - its basis is basically to not be yourself or show your true self at all and that’s no way to live.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 06:03 AM
1

Maybe you’re picking the wrong people to live with or marry????? Remember I’m talking about LTRs here not a casual ONS

That’s true! What a way to live

But that’s all RPers talk about 👀
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:41 AM

I said in my OP I’m not talking about ONS I’m talking about LTRs
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:41 AM
1

Hey that’s awesome! You seem to be someone who really has actually found contentment in doing your own thing and living your own life. That’s something to aspire to. Oh and I love cooking :D it’s just that not every meal is a sexy, gourmet offering lol
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:40 AM
1

Well yeah constant whining is unattractive in anyone, adult, child, man, woman.... obviously I’m not talking about that. What you’re talking about is a person being so afraid of not being seen as sexy all the time that he’s willing to stuff down every emotion and become repressed And probably explode at some point.......
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:37 AM
1

Yeah there’s nothing wrong with making an effort for your spouse at all! But I could never keep up with they level, it’s too exhausting. Fortunately, my husband knew this about me ahead of time and doesn’t care! But of course do what you like best :)
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:34 AM
10

I mean who doesn’t want to be desired sexually? What do you do when you’re 80 though and alone because your life was only about sex though
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:31 AM
4

Then they will never know true intimacy
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:29 AM

I guess I’ll never understand a life devoted to nothing higher than getting laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:27 AM

My OP covered that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:27 AM
1

Well it’s stupid if anyone decides not have sex with someone because they had to do real life things like chores or work. So I’m sorry if that’s happened to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:26 AM
2

But some days consist of crying, cleaning, pooping, changing diapers etc. If you and your partner decide you can’t have sex anymore because real life is too unsexy, maybe you should live alone together in a mansion in the wilderness where robots keep the house clean.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:25 AM
5

So watching someone swishing toilet makes you horny? I mean, no kink shaming here of course but that’s kind of unusual..... The point is, him cleaning the bathroom doesn’t MAKE me horny, but I still want to have sex with him anyway. It’s not sexy to watch him wipe a kid’s nose but should it be? Not really, not if I still want to have sex with him regardless.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:23 AM
-1

Yeah no. These people need to grow the f up and realize that they’re seriously emotionally stunted if someone being honest with them makes them never want to have sex with them again.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 05:18 AM
-1

Sucks that some people would never do chores as a result of being afraid it makes them unsexy.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 02:20 AM

So be sexy at sexy time.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 02:20 AM
3

Women can’t see what?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 02:20 AM

The analogy doesn’t work. Being a Christian is a way of life. Being sexy is - or should be - only a portion of life.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 02:19 AM
4

You had me in the beginning, not gonna lie
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 02:17 AM
1

But you can’t never poop for the rest of your life because pooping isn’t sexy... I’m saying the premise - to GET SEX at the expense of all else - is ridiculous and unrealistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 02:01 AM
10

Not true. It just means the response will be more INTIMACY, not more sex. Doesn’t have to be less sex either. My husband is one of the most emotionally healthy/expressive men I know. I am always up for sex with him. When he’s crying? No, but that’s not what crying is about.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/20 02:00 AM

Of course not but we’re discussing TRP aren’t we?

I’ve been in one relationship. It’s a very good one. My husband and I meet when we were kids and got together almost three years ago. We just celebrated our second wedding anniversary. We’re both 27 (almost 28). Started dating at 25. We’re both saves sex for marriage and it’s been an amazing thing for us. We wouldn’t have any other way. Bad experiences have absolutely made me into the person I am today. I’ve changed a lot in some ways from puberty but I’m still very much “myself”.

/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/20 06:09 AM

Yeah totally, but the point was that eventually most people stop having sex when they’re old..... is that a legit reason to divorce when you’re 80? Because you’re not getting any? Believe it or not, most people that age don’t really care anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/20 02:15 AM
1

So why did you bring it up 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/20 09:21 PM

Yes but the comment you were replying to was making the point that sexual desire wanes with age and won’t always be a part of the relationship and you stated that’s a reason to leave a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/20 04:49 PM
1

“Over time, the frequency of sex decreases in every relationship, often to the point where you're barely having it or not having it at all. ‘That is no longer a romantic relationship and it is a legitimate reason to leave it. Fuck that shit.’” You realize that sexual desire wanes as you age and that’s not a reason to get a divorce, right? 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/20 04:24 PM

You realize that a lot of old married people who stay together and really love each other and would die in each other’s arms aren’t having sex, right?

Good post. I always said I wouldn’t marry someone I wasn’t best friends with first. My husband and I were friends and then best friends before we got married. We’re also sexually attracted to each other. I think both things are very important, but it’s insane to think that sexual attraction is the most important part because believe it or not, people aren’t raging horndogs for the entirety of their lifetime. Many people are quite content to have less frequent sex as they get older, and if sex is…

I lost a friend over this. Most of my friends understand this is how things go when you get married (like I did two years ago) but one of my friends was so hurt? Maybe? That she stopped talking to me entirely. She did the same to a mutual friend of ours that got married last year. It sucks, especially since every other person in my life GETS it and once things evened out, we’re able to make more time for friends again.

I think it’s because the thick look is actually attainable. For the first time in a while, what’s trendy/desireable is what’s actually realistic for a lot of women. When I was a girl and a young teen in the years when being very thin was in (think of Mean Girls and Regina George with her thighs as big around as an upper arm in micro mini skirts) I felt VERY body conscious and very much hated my body. I’ve always had curves - legit curves like bigger bust and lower body, small waist (no matter ho…

To me it’s when either party gets what they need from someone else of the opposite sex. And of course anything sexual with someone who isn’t your spouse. To expound on point one: if I were to intentionally get affection from another man, or if my husband were to intentionally get validation from another woman.

I like men in general. I don’t like the ways in which society has historically catered to men. (I said historically, so don’t get your panties in a wad.) I like some very specific men very much. I don’t demonize male historical figures for being imperfect as seems to be the trend. I don’t think men are better than women or vice versa. I strongly dislike specific men and specific attitudes some groups of men have. It’s as simple as that.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/20 05:04 AM

The problem is that MGTOWs don’t do the “GTOW” part, so yes, it’s a disturbing little pocket of society that’s good to keep half an eye on.

I’m married. I sew historical clothing as one of my hobbies. I love to read. I am versatile, flexible (physically too lol) agreeable, great at easygoing leadership/delegating, creative and artistic. That’s literally all I’m getting at lol My preference would be that everyone saves sex for one special person and stays loyal for life. Obviously that’s not realistic. But if you’re gonna be promiscuous don’t whine about other people doing it. Unfortunately the whining is a pillar of RP ideology. And no I wasn’t being manipulative. I said everyone can have a totally different experience of sex but I will agree with you that it’s more likely that men won’t form emotional attachments. You put word…

Sure anyone can have a different experience with casual sex. I’m even willing to accept that biologically men have an easier time being promiscuous with zero emotional attachments than women. But when, as a RP man, you say “I can have sex with whomever I want and as many women as I want and then settle down with a young hot virgin” and then turn around and say “but women can’t do the same thing.” That’s the double standard. I couldn’t care less about the biology of it. When it gets into people s…

I have NO problem with men being insecure about women having a high body count.... as long as it’s okay for women to be insecure about men having the same. I’m a believer in both people saving sex for marriage so you’ll get no argument from me about marrying a virgin being preferable, but only if it’s both the man and the woman. It’s the double standards in TRP that I hate.

Maybe that would work for a guy who only makes like a quarter teaspoon of semen at a time.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/20 03:47 AM
3

But the clear stuff is precum, not real semen. You saying that when you’re tired you just change tactics isn’t faking an orgasm at all. Everyone does that - they get tired and say let’s try something else or I want it to be your turn. That’s.... not the same as pretending you’re having an orgasm.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/20 03:45 AM

Women getting wet is arousal, not orgasm. Women can and do sometimes squirt but more often do not during orgasm (I personally never have but I have orgasmed hundreds of times). Just like getting hard for men is arousal, not orgasm. Women can fake orgasm because there’s no reliable outward sign that she’s orgasmed. Men really can’t because ejaculation isn’t something you can fake.

I agree that all those examples are horrible and yes men get screwed over all the time (I’d also like to suggest that maybe courts wouldn’t “favor women/mothers” so often if society hadn’t been insisting that women be the caretakers of children 99% of the time... what do you think is going to happen when all of society has conditioned people to think that raising kids is a woman’s job - obviously more moms will win court cases) I don’t think all women are generous and kind and selfless etc etc a…

But what if you’re really attracted to THAT girl? Girls aren’t required to put out and there is such thing as self control. Not in the RP universe apparently 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 11:12 PM
1

Yeah but I’m not talking about all men or all women. I’m saying the concept of THE RED PILL and its relationship stratagems is selfish, deceptive, hypocritical and all about pleasing yourself 100% of the time. RP men openly admit this! So when I say it’s obvious RP men don’t have what it takes to be in a successful LTR - things like selflessness, generosity, love, kindness, compassion, etc - I mean quite literally that specifically RP men don’t have the capacity for those virtues or choose not t…

lol my husband and I were both virgins when we got married and he had about $12 in his bank account on our wedding day. So yes, both a gold digger and a slut for sure.

I’ve proven that I’m lying about being a gold digger?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 09:39 PM

It’s just hysterical to me that RP men think women rack up an “ugly” n count but of course RP men are entitled to the exact same lifestyle... of course for them it’s not ugly, it’s ideal. No I don’t think everyone will be happy married and I get why a lot of men (and! Women!) don’t want to get married these days. Marriage takes maturity and sacrifice and clearly that’s something RP men will never understand, so I get it. But you can’t say “all women are sluts who want to drain your bank account …

Well my husband is pro marriage too, maybe because he loves me and I love him and we respect each other and actually care about each other..... buuuut I guess I don’t exist so idk what to do now. :/

That didn’t answer my question in the slightest but ok.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:47 PM

Most of the people who aren’t marriage material aren’t looking to get married anyway.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:30 PM

Nope, I’m actually very pro marriage. I’m pro men and women saving themselves for marriage. That’s what my husband and I did. I love being married. But guys can’t think they’ll make a great husband if they’ve been F-ing around all their 20s. Same with women. It’s just that TRP is based on the idea that men can F around all they want and then marry a virgin to serve them and expect her to be OK with that but women absolutely can’t have the same lifestyle because that makes them ugly dried up slut…

Could it have to do with PEOPLE in the West not being marriage material? It’s not a heavenly realm filled with perfect marriageable men and wasteland of gross sluts..... humans overall are getting less marriageable.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:24 PM
1

“I don’t agree with all of TRP, but the quicker women realize that they’ve slept with tons of dudes without a LTR, and that they are less fulfilled every time, the quicker they will be forced to work on themselves and change into someone worth pursuing for a LTR (if that’s what they want).” So why can’t RP men apply this to themselves?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:23 PM

I think you get it lol
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:21 PM

Which is the premise of AF/BB right? Why is that lifestyle ok for men but not women according to RP men?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:20 PM
1

Yeah but RP men are wildly hypocritical about it. And you don’t have to say “tHeRe’S nO LAw aGAinSt bEiNg a hYpoCritE” because duh of course not, but you do realize that makes anyone who believes such things look ridiculously stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:19 PM
1

Cute. I could make such a wildly inaccurate statement about men, too, but that’s lazy. I guess I just don’t get the double standard RP men have for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:17 PM
1

Yeah nice but a big talking point of RPM is that women shouldn’t do the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:16 PM

I cannot respond to everything here but I’ll hit the main points. I woke up to over 500 comments. Thanks for your input, folks.

Interesting. But RPM whine about women doing the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 07:10 PM

Yeah because RP men tell women they can’t do the same thing. Massive hypocrisy. Pick. A. Lane.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 05:24 PM

That’s true though. My husband is short, my height in fact, and I’ve always found him attractive. He’s confident and doesn’t care that he’s short. I find short men who are whiny and mopey incredibly unattractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/20 04:46 AM
1

I consider myself to be reasonably attractive, but the whole male/female dynamic has always been a little mysterious for me for multiple reasons. One, without makeup, I’m invisible to men. So I’m not usually approached unless I look AMAZING. (I.e. a ton of effort put into my appearance) so in public I have the choice to be attractive or unattractive to men. I’m usually in a rush so it’s often the latter. Two, I’m intensely awkward so everything about dating has always been fraught with mystery f…

Confused now because I constantly see RP men say they want to be promiscuous as much as possible and that’s VERY unbiblical.... RP men also whine about monogamy constantly so I don’t see how promiscuity and polygamy are possibly blue pill
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/20 08:31 PM

Interesting because I think the Madonna-whore complex is strictly RP.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/20 05:20 PM

Wow It’s almost as if both sexes are equally capable of being selfish and greedy and promiscuous and neither TRP nor radical feminists can claim that the opposite side is worse 🤔

I never found “older” men creepy just by virtue of their being older, unless they acted creepy. I’d always been attracted to older men. (Like, men in their 30s and 40s when I was in my late teens and twenties... with the occasional even older guy like 60 your old Sean Connery) I think women aren’t saying they can’t be attracted to older men, but if they’re going about their daily life and a guy old enough to be their dad hits on them, their instinct isn’t “oh wow hot” it’s more shocking. I think you nailed it when you said FOR YOU those things aren’t important. I mean, to each their own. But you can’t speak for all men. My husband values me for being interesting, easy to talk to, supportive, and a myriad other things including attractiveness and - get this - being funny! Hmm I might just have to nitpick right back lol....ummmm the performance I mentioned was when my NOW husband and I were both 19. We didn’t start dating till we were 25 and got married at almost 26. I’m saying he was just an acquaintance of mine when I first found him attractive at the performance.

Passion is attractive, if it’s something you’re passionately good at, even if it’s not lucrative. My husband is a dancer and he’s passionate about it. My huge wake up moment to realizing I was attracted to him was during a performance where he did an exceptionally good job. To this day, I’m most attracted to him when he’s performing because he’s so good at it and he’s so talented and he puts his whole self into the performance. Even though it’s not a financially successful career or lifestyle, i…

This is good advice minus calling “most men” losers.... Honestly, life shouldn’t be about chasing the opposite sex for anyone. Definitely focus on work, healthy, non romantic relationships, family and friends more and the right person will quite possibly come along but even if not, you weren’t wasting your whole life in pursuit of women or men.

That’s okay I don’t need to know anymore. I’ve seen literal red pill Christian men make videos about how they withhold affection from their wives to make them behave which is sick. No spouse should do that to the other. If deliberately going out of your way to reassure your spouse that they’re secure with you is blue pill, I’ll be blue pill all day. If you’re claiming RP doesn’t espouse junk like this, then you’re not really adhering to RP beliefs.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 05:47 AM

Thanks kind stranger. I wish you could know the true peace I’ve found with Jesus, it’s never too late to follow him and not people!

Thanks! Genuinely kind advice. Yep, I’m more about the relationship with God than about pleasing people. My husband is as well so it’s all good. He’s a great man and I’m very grateful for him.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 03:44 AM
1

No, it’s a figure of speech. I feel lucky, that’s all. I guess it’s all “by chance” that you find the right person but i don’t believe in chance. Here’s the thing. When I hear someone say “your advice is shit” when I suggest treating people like individuals, I automatically think, “okay, so this person thinks everyone is exactly the same and treats them as such”. And that seems like bad advice to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 03:42 AM
1

No, my husband and entire family are Christians so I’m gonna keep doing it. But I do understand that your advice is kindly meant. I agree there’s a fine line between going out of your way to be taken advantage of and being smart and that’s where discernment comes in. :)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 03:24 AM
1

You’re darn right I won the lottery with my husband, I feel insanely lucky and blessed every day to have him!! I wouldn’t have him now though if we had played the RP game.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 03:22 AM
1

Nah I’m actually making the effort to dive deeper into my relationship with Christ, but thanks for the warning. Yeah, being good to people who use you is one of the core beliefs of Christianity and it feels sucky sometimes but you never know how that may impact someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 03:06 AM
1

Hmm but I’d be instantly turned off by my husband if he decided to flirt with the waitress to seem more alpha, so maybe RP stuff doesn’t work for marriages? I mean great if it works for you but I’m kinda sad for your wife now?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 03:03 AM

I did mention elsewhere that a promiscuous lifestyle does tend to make people less discerning or choosy....I guess if it has hole that’s good enough! But this convo is more about trying to get a LTR.

I for sure am. We both are.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 02:52 AM

So you agree that different people are to be treated differently. Interesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/20 02:51 AM

I mean it does sound crazy. But then, as a Christian, I’m used to what I believe sounding crazy. It’s what Jesus teachers and it feels impossible because it is. That’s why I need Christ.

I can respect that! 👏🏻

Okay tell that to my husband who is exactly my height at 5’5” and has always had an endless stream of both women and men interested in him. Maybe, just MAYBE assumptions (“short men ARE undesirable”) are just excuses. maybe it’s more like “short men who think they’re entitled to women and do the bare minimum to try to get female attention and then fail and blame it all on their height are undesirable” 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 09:57 PM
1

Yes, what I’m proposing. Treat each human as an individual. Your mom is different from your sister. Your grocery store checker is different from your hair stylist. Your doctor is different from your lover. It may require thoughtfulness, effort, and a small degree of putting someone’s needs above your own, but if that’s being blue pill, then get me whole bottle of them because I’ll be popping blue pills every day.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 09:42 PM

Yeah people do that but it’s not right. If I said “hey it’s not good to murder” You can’t say “but some people really hate other people and want them to die” and pretend that was a mic drop lol

Yeah that’s kind of just how life is... your chances of dating are lower if you’re totally unattractive and that’s unfair. But that doesn’t mean that every woman is exactly the same as every other woman or that every man is the same as every other man. Ugly people get married ALL the time. There are more average to ugly couples than really attractive ones.

Sure there are basic social rules; I’m not pretending there aren’t. Yeah men like to chase, women like to be chased, (generally) but still that doesn’t mean you get to just apply a formula to anyone you want to date or marry. Hypothetical situation for if you’re a guy (apologies if you’re a RPW but you still get the picture): Say TRP said all single moms are trash (wait that’s exactly what TRP says...) /r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 09:18 PM

Excuse me but TRP is almost exclusively based on assumptions. That’s what it’s built on. Men always do/want this. Women always do/want this. Single moms are trash. Short men are undesirable. It’s all based on assumptions and gee doesn’t that make life easier? Yep up until you actually have to be in a relationship with a real human being.

Yeah but that’s not an argument
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 09:02 PM

You’re right, that’s less work. I’ll report back to you when our marriage fails because I wanted less work.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 06:47 PM

That’s fair and could be said for some men as well. Both men and women have some unrealistic mental pictures of what they want that will sadly blind them to someone who is perfect for them they might not consider.

(Or to flip it: women wishing they had bigger boobs or were cuter etc) My husband is SHORT and he’s always had tons of attention from both sexes of all ages. Women and gay men ignore me when he’s around. Does it help that he’s handsome? Yeah but he’s not ripped or rich or tall at all and he wears glasses. He’s caring and attent…

Hmm curious. You think there’s no variation between what people find attractive? I disagree. If you showed me photos of 200 of the most “attractive” male celebs, I’d probably be sexually attracted to five-ten of them. Pick another woman and she’d have a different, longer list. Pick another woman and she’d have a shorter list. Sure a tall ripped guy is going to be generally seen as more attractive than a short doughy guy, but it’s not like there’s zero hope for guy #2.

“A certain amount of classification is of course, necessary for practical purposes: there is no harm in saying that women, as a class, have smaller bones than men, wear lighter clothing, have more hair on their head and less on their faces, go more pertinaciously to church or the cinema, or have more patience with small and noisy babies... What is unreasonable and irritating is to assume that ALL one’s tastes and preferences have to be conditioned by the class to which one belongs.” —Dorothy Say…

I mean, that sucks. It doesn’t free you from the responsibility to do the right thing though.

Well that’s the problem right there. You’re the type of guy who would punch a drunk man for shoving you but give a drunk woman some slack. Honestly? I don’t think you should punch any drunk person for shoving you, man or woman. I don’t think you spoiled give women special treatment, I think you should refrain from punching people of both sexes, get it?

I just want everyone to be polite and kid to each other. And gee I hope you’d be polite and helpful to a man the same as a woman.

What? It proves my point - that none of these things that RP men whine about constantly matter AT ALL to some women. Yeah some women want a tall guy. That’s okay. Some women don’t care (like me). That’s okay too. You just gotta find the right person who likes you for who you are regardless of height.

And it’s baffling. One only has to people watch for twenty minutes to see this isn’t true.

She dislikes it when you comfort her by being there for her? There’s something off about that. It might be trauma or emotional damage. Also the fact that not being there for your SO is red pill behavior is one of the many many reasons I hate red pill nonsense.

I’ve slowly and unintentionally distanced from a lot of my friends since getting married. (Partly due to living outside of the country for the better part of our first year of marriage). My husband is my best friend and I never get tired of him. I find myself getting tired of other people much more quickly and impatiently waiting till he and I can be together again. I would prefer to have other relationships as well (mainly my family since I’m very close to them) but if I were stranded on an isl…

You don’t need sex first to have a great relationship. I met my now husband when we were preteens. We became friends in our early twenties and got married at nearly 26 years old (we’re the same age). We both saved sex for marriage. And we have fantastic, hot, sexy sex often. How is this possible? Communication. Hard work. Experimentation. Being open and free in bed. Not being shy. Willing to try things. Wanting the best for each other sexually. We love our sex life even though we were virgins wh…
