I'd put it like this re. My experiences with dating: After spending so much time and money on it, and going through so many pains. I'm left with a feeling of "well that was ultimately kind of pointless" and then a realization that I wasn't going through all that because it was good In and of itself, but because I felt socially pressured to experience something that everyone seemingly was doing and that I'm a failure if I haven't succeeded in that. It's a feeling and anxiety that is exasperated (…

What I'm saying in my post is that although a person has been unfortunate in their dating experience, society should not treat that person like they're defective. It's like treating a 5'7 person born with bad joints as some kind of loser because although he loves the NBA and basketball, he wasn't able to make a career out of it. He wasn't born with the gifts that would make a journey to professional basketball easy or even possible. That doesn't mean he should be treated as a failure even though…

I'd say he's an interesting black pill character because he's found a way to be humorous about it by layering himself and content in memes and jokes. Ironically, he's someone that doesn't even look like the usual black pill guy. He's got the same appearance as some of these popular tik tok guys. To me, from the content I've seen, he seems to be someone who might actually be deprogramming or preventing black pill men from killing themselves.

I think its a statement buttressed purely by anecdotal evidence. The mindset goes something like: Imagine the selfless man who works 8 hrs a day then comes home to a wife who's decided to be a stay at home mother. The home and the child are unkempt and she's short tempered with him. He tries to redirect her mood, clean up the home and prepare dinner for the family. He works hard and uses all his earnings on making sure the bills are paid and shopping is done. One day he discovers his wife has be…

Its about where you are. If you spend a lot of time going to things like TED talks or join Facebook groups about topics youre interested in, you will eventually run into single women who are in that group who might want to get to know you. Its a stereotype that women aren't into traditionally 'nerd' interests. I put it on the same level as the assumption that 90% of men are either into sports or video games.

I suspect it's really just a desire for validation. Its had to develop a distinct personality and have the strength to know that some people won't like you for reasons they can't even articulate. They exist in a weird contradictory state. On the one hand they want to encourage a man to not care what women think about them, whilst telling them to chase female validation in the form of sex. To them, successful pursuit of female attention is the equivalent to completing a ritual that asserts mascul…

No one has all the answers is correct. Who has it worse depends on your point of view, but you also have to ask yourself "what do I do with this information?" If youre under the belief that it is harder to be a man, does that mean you can't support women? If youre under the belief its harder to be a woman, can you still not support men? I think the problem ultimately is that people are under the mistaken impression that it isn't possible to care about multiple things at once.

I mean the most concise explanation would be this: Looks matter, but not as much as these people think they do. There is no universally agreed upon 'good looking' person. I strongly urge people to look at old photos of people who were considered exceptionally good looking through time. You'll be surprised to find that what was considered 'amazing' is average by today's standards.

I agree that redpill can be a good starting off point because it does tell men some hard truths: *You can't negotiate genuine desire *fairytale romance doesn't exist and chasing it will hurt you *You are one of many choices that a woman has available to her. You are in competition with other suitors *you should build your friendships and support networks. *don't put the comfort of someone else above your own to the point where it hurts you. *if youre not interested in being friends with a woman …

There's something that is in redpill that seemingly most of its proponents seem to misunderstand: You can't negotiate genuine desire. That sentence for some leads them into despair, while for others it's a call to action to dive into pickup artist books and strategies. But for a smaller third group of men it is a liberating fact. It means you can't 'blow it' with someone you're interested in thus necessitating severe mental gymnastics and having to make yourself uncomfortable and miserable attem…

I think anyone interested in or currently in redpill should look at the story of two specific people: Zyzz and Roosh V. Zyzz was the typical frail nerd who completely transformed his body and became an aesthetic demigod. He also died at 22 years old from a heart attack. He had the heart of a man 40+ years his senior and had put his body through hell to achieve the appearance of an alpha male. He would never live long enough to fully appreciate his hard won gains. Roosh wasn't just a student of t…

Abortion was functionally illegal in many of the states that are going to formally ban it. There were many deceptive 'clinics' that really just tried to convince women to not end their pregnancy. The places that would provide the procedure were so few and far between and starved of funding that they weren't accessed. This changes little for you if you're in a state where abortion access was already comparatively easy. For some people, this is the first time they're finding out abortion was even …

What is your criticism of her perspective? Are her studies peer reviewed with large sample sizes and duplicated? Shes someone with a platform talking about her preferences and her social circle whilst trying to put a veneer of objectivity on it so that she comes off as something more than what she is: a person giving her opinion. It is statistically impossible that there won't be at least a few thousand out of a million people who agree with her, but as we know: exceptions don't prove a rule.

You know what you need to do and you're scared to do it. Whatever this is that you think you have or had with this woman is over. If you are attracted to her, you should move on and focus your energy on someone who is attracted to you. Even if you want to use 'redpill', it tells you that genuine desire is non-negotiable. If she has no genuine desire for you and has clearly told you this, accept that she's not interested, wanted to spare your feelings and just move on instead of trying to be frie…

There have also been surveys that show that on average, women are more risk averse than men. It is a huge risk for a woman to leave an established relationship to aim for a 'higher status' man that may not be interested, and even if interested unwilling to commit to an LTR. Just because some women will take the risk, doesn't mean you have to assume all or most would. Some people are drunk drivers that run people over. That doesn't mean I should always leave the house in a helmet and pads and avo…

Obesity is a medical condition that you have to treat. It is something that will limit your options unfortunately. Strength is considered a key part of masculinity, so men and women generally see obese men as weak and a liability. Its not easy, but losing the weight is very important for so many other reasons. Its your health we're talking about so you need to focus on resolving something that could potentially really harm you before bringing another person into your life. Obese people are at ri…

I think their assumption is that even the conventionally unattractive or unremarkable women are still having more sex than their male equivalents. Remember, they take an investment market approach to sex. Male sexual attention is considered abundant and easy to get, therefore is largely worthless to women unless that attention is coming from a rare man. Their perspective is male attention is so abundant, that no woman has to go without it unless she's making an effort to avoid men. Female sexual…

I just want to give you a shout out for that book reccomendation. It's really good so far. The author isn't caricaturing the community as mustache twirling women haters who are beyond hope or help and must be destroyed. You're seeing the limits of capitalist economic theory in action. Seriously. When you stop and think about the link its very difficult to unsee it. There are literally millions of people who SHOULD be seeing therapists, but how can one afford a therapist whilst making less than 20 dollars an hour and renting an apartment that eats up over 50% of their monthly income and thats to say nothing about the cost of food, medicine, electricity, internet, phone, etc. How is one supposed to keep going on …

There are also more women graduating from post secondary institutions and high school. Women are outpacing men in terms of education, so they are getting more chances to earn higher. Deferring pregnancy increases their chances of advancing since they won't be taken out of the work force during pregnancy and the first few months of the baby's life. Socially there is a stigma attached to men who don't make a lot of money. There is also a social stigma attached to men who are in conventionally 'fem…

It makes the message more easily accessible. A thing to remember is that a lot of single and frustrated men are coming from countries in Asia and Latin America as well. Its not a uniquely European and North American phenomenon. It also gives a scientific patina to what essentially boils down to looking at all relationships as transactional and not good in and of themselves. This is why(i know this is controversial) i have a no contact policy with my exes. Once we are done. We are done. No friendships, no casual sex. No calls. No texts. Nothing. Its okay to reflect on your past, but a fool's errand to try and return to it in any capacity. Its the male gaze. Usually when I see a female character wearing 'armor' that has high heels its a telltale sign that the character was designed by a man. Women are slowly starting to be depicted with more nuance. In the last 10 years we've had the following: Jujutsu kaisen Chainsaw man Hell's paradise My hero academia With a larger female audience, I think authors are realizing that people respond better to female characters that can stand on their own as compelling characters.

I appreciate your input and your thoughts on the topic. I disagree because I do genuinely believe that fiction normalizes certain kinds of behaviors and is a queue for what people may come to think is acceptable(e.g. seeing more LGBT or racial minorities with nuanced and more accurate depictions in fiction helps people feel represented and deconstructs the stereotypes media historically pushed). Or even seeing more representation of different body types in media and showing that even people who …

I think you're confusing telling people who are into that not to be ashamed of it and telling men who aren't into that type of lifestyle that they should be into that lifestyle. Men who are get turned on watching their partners with other men, men who are non-binary or who are into cross dressing should be clear about what they're into from the jump instead of hiding it. Some women will agree with that and others won't. Nobody wants men to behave like people they aren't.

I appreciate your perspective, but I don't really see it as a love triangle if someone is already in a committed relationship and cheats on their partner. Its right up there with scenes of 'romance' that are really just stalking and sexual harassment that were rampant in the 80s and 90s. I think a redpill detox film list that shows romantic movies for men that can help them with their detox process will be helpful since media does influence how people act. Seeing stories of women with stable rel…

I'm talking more in the sense of turning him into the so called 'alpha provider' where he was an alpha and maintained some of those characteristics while having the means to financially take care of her. From what I recall the man she married was a good man who came from a wealthy family so in a sense he was able to be a provider too. I think in recent years people have started looking at Jenny as the antagonist of that film. She rebuffs Forrest until she's HIV positive and has a child. It kind of actually reads as someone manipulating a man with a developmental disability. But I think people fail to also see that clearly she was a really damaged person and her decisions reflected that. She didn't seem to think she actually deserved stability.

Well said. When you focus so much of your activities and mental power on what the opposite sex wants, and how to plan and execute sexual strategy you neglect other things in your life. I've never heard of a man who takes care of himself, travels, learns skills and just lives a life he's happy about and proud of who feels hollow. I have however heard of men who get lots of female attention but feel like something is missing.

Because its less about the women and more about asserting masculine identity. Our culture has equated masculinity with the ability to get the attention of women, therefore a man who gets a lot of sex is supposed to be considered more masculine and impressive. Its less about the actual women, and more about signaling to other men and prospective female options that you're a hot commodity. When you think about redpill concepts like sexual market value, these men act like a stock that is rising in …

I'm looking at what motivates the behavior and not just the behavior itself. Understanding where it comes from will help stop it. Men who are rejected, follow conventional advice and don't get any results tend to feel bitter and resentful. They feel confused and angry so they relieve themselves by watching people who they believe to be entitled getting 'their due' or being 'put in their place' they love watching women who they believe would otherwise reject them being taken down a peg because it…

Is this a belief you've been primed to believe? When you're operating from a mindset of 'women don't go to the gym' every exception you will see will only prove the rule you've agreed to believe in your mind. If fitness is important to you, its fair for you to disqualify people who don't share that goal. I swipe left on women online who have gym photos and explicitly mention that as an interest because while I work out, I prefer to do it at home and its not something I do daily. 3x a week in the…

I'm seeing that you're young and live in a developing country. What are your plans for education? What are your career plans? How is your health? It sounds like you're still developing a personality and communication style that you are comfortable in. The standard advice is 'be yourself' but the real meaning behind that phrase as i understand it is: 'don't be ashamed of who you are' Wanna know why the bully gets girls? He is just who he is. I think you touch up on a very interesting point about trans people speaking on gender. I think that they do actually tend to have the most nuanced and empathetic takes on the subject because they've lived as different types of person. I think we can't even say what the man's 'side' is because he's not around to speak for himself about how he felt hearing his wife tell him these things and what he wanted to do. The wife assumed he was being cold and callous, the F&F fans assumed she was being a purposeful liar hiding her past so that a man who might otherwise reject her for having a party background would commit to her. Hes 'red pilled' in the political sense, not the relationship sense from what I can tell. Explain to him how the non-redpill ideas he held contributed to your interest in him. You can show him how the traits about him you like overlap with your own politics. From his perspective he probably thinks you're engaging in a type of double speak where you may say you want X but you really want Y. Worrying about losing your virginity to an escort is like being ashamed that you got your first massage from an RMT instead of a girlfriend. Redpill elements i think can be broken down into: 1. Belief in gender essentialism. There are traits for both men and women and men gravitate towards feminine traits in women and avoid masculine traits in them. The reverse is also believed to be true which is why men who have traits that align with 'femininity' are ignored by women. Why does it matter? Some men won't be cool with a woman who has been with even 3 men, whilst some are going to say their breaking point is 10. I think the people who are worried about body counts feel like theirs isn't high enough and don't want to feel like the person they're with is having an easier time than they did with respect to getting sexual attention. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I do think there are some things that people generally are socialized to consider attractive, but for some that programming doesn't stick. While I agree with the sentiment of what you're saying you still make the same mistake that makes men who are struggling tune out: You ultimately blame them for their lack of success. Its something they are saying or not saying doing or not doing. Think about the reasoning. If youre focused on education you may not have enough mental bandwidth for other things. Highly educated people can end up being quite lonely because academia has taken the time they would be spending socializing. As others have said youre stuck between a rock and a hard place in this instance. There is unfortunately a lot of stigma around sex workers and the services they provide. Sex work is a valid form of labor and the services they provide help many people who otherwise wouldn't be able to experience intimacy. With that said, the assumption youre making is flawed in the sense that you expect women to be turned off by lack of sexual experience, but what is more important is your communication with the…

For me what I'm referencing specifically is the demoralizing effect of continuous rejections since our culture still stubbornly refuses to let go of this idea that men are supposed to be the ones approaching women and women are supposed to be the ones sending hints of interest. I'm not sure if women are aware that what one woman's 'nice gesture' is another woman's expression of interest. Under this current system it feels very difficult to sort out who wants to go out vs who is just being friend…

To be fair, the history books have not exactly been kind to white guys. Especially ones with money. The problem with the left is that they too enjoy bullying others, but they truly feel that their bullying is justified because they believe they are punching upwards. They assume uncritically that all men drawn to the redpill are cartoon misogynists who can't stand to see women making their own choices. Bullying them then feels like you're doing a civic service and a form of activism. Its having t…

I think a crucial aspect is first recognizing that the concept of 'personal responsibility' has been so repeated and enforced that its become insidious. The first reaction anyone has to men who are struggling with dating is to say that they're somehow doing something wrong. The thing that 98% of anyone who talks about men's dating struggles does, is they dont focus on what the hinge points were which turned this person into who he currently is. Everyone starts out as a baby, every boy starts out…

For them I think it stems from a mixture of insecurity( if he can have a younger woman why would he choose me?) And misandry(men want younger women because they care more about physical appearance than life experience). There is also the assumption that wealthy men see women more as trophies than equal partners to share their lives with. E.g. Donald 'gets a divorce once they start getting grey hair' Trump. Theres an assumption that wealthy men see women as all interchangeable and as accessories …

Redpill and right wing thinking both embrace certainty regardless of contrary facts and seem to propose a kind of 'essentialism' and sense of unchanging 'realities' If I can convince you that all women desire certain qualities in a man and boil down your misfortunes to something you alone are responsible for, its not hard for me to then convince you of other right wing and ultimately authoritarian ideas. Ignoring complexity in favor of erroneous simplicity and having an unwavering sense of what …

Really depends on where you are. I dated a woman who was 16 when her boyfriend was 22 and it didn't seem weird to her. Neither did the idea of being attracted to a cousin but she grew up in a small town. I work with a woman who is 38 and her boyfriend is 45. Another is turning 27 and her man is 44. These massive Johnny depp-Amber heard type age differences haven't really been something I've seen. Dating apps are absolutely disastrous for men. This is a sentiment that I truly hope is gaining ground. Some aren't that bad (hinge) but most are truly awful(like tinder) the ratio of (hetero) men to women on dating apps is huge. 30 men could be competing for thr attention of 1 woman and it is a superficial way of getting to know anyone. There are loads of women out there who admit they would likely have swiped left on their husband if before they knew him all they saw was a dating profile of hi…

This kind of casual misandry is something that helps fuel the cycle. If a man sees things like this it is easy for him to think "see, i knew it women don't care about me so why should I care about them?" If you assume you're dealing with a cold hearted psychopath, then you can justify cheating, selfish behavior, ghosting etc. Because the assumption is she doesn't think highly of you anyway so what is the point in truly investing in the relationship. Most people are not good at giving other people advice. Don't let social media and fiction make you think that a relationship is all sunshine and rainbows. Its sadly more common than you would think. Men these days are checking out of marriage because of what they've seen happening to friends and family who get divorced. You're still struggling to see things from the perspective of women. Someone once described the difference between men and women and their dating experiences this way: A person dying of thirst in a desert will have a hard time empathizing with someone who is drowning. Its complicated because men like rollo tap into insecurities that men feel and there is content that can be useful in his work e.g. recognizing when you're in an emotionally abusive relationship, not getting caught up in staying with someone who treats you poorly because she's 'out of your league's letting go of the idea that there is a 'one' or learning to not take rejection personally. I think people go off the deep end when they start believing in gender essentialist 'women are like ____ and …

Expand on your thoughts. You say the men as being disposable narrative needs to stop, so offer an alternative that people who use the discourse haven't already offered. I know its hard to hear, but it is a fact that men who are short, not conventionally attractive, overweight or neuroatypical are often bullied and society protects or excuses the bullying. When you feel nobody cares and you have nothing to lose, you become a danger to yourself and others. It starts with changing how we talk to pe…

You're falling into the trap that Hollywood has set you and everyone else up for. That romantic interest is what you need to complete you as a human being and as you can see in this subreddit, its not true. People have girlfriends and boyfriends and are miserable. They have sex thats poor quality, or worse they end up being abused and staying in abusive relationships because they're afraid nobody will ever like them again. The fact that you feel you can live a normal life without the surgeries i…

Do you have friends? Do you have family? If you do, then those are people who like you. Do you volunteer? Do you offer technical advice or emotional support? Do you like and leave positive comments on youtbe videos? If you do, those people you've helped appreciate you. Of course surgery would be expensive, since it is something that will change your life. The question is: have you started saving for it? You're scared they'll mess it up, but nothing is gained without anything risked. Every day of…

Here is where you are wrong and where "bad boys" have the edge over nice guys: I bloody adore the way I look (not like narcissus though lol). But none of that matters if nobody likes me Those guys would say "I like the way I look, and if someone else doesn't, that's not my problem. Thats on them for not recognizing a good thing when they see it" they exude an energy that says "i don't need your validation. You don't matter to me as much as my happiness and desires matter to me". I'm not validati…

You're so focused on if other people like you that you are neglecting what the most important person thinks: YOU. Don't allow yourself to be externally validated. Do you even know what parts of yourself you think are unattractive? Is it your weight? Is it your height? Is it your hairstyle? Is it your skin quality? Do you feel you are doing the best you can to look the best you can? Not for others, but for you. Do you look in the mirror and like what you see?

I understand where you're coming from with this, but this will absolutely shatter what self esteem he may have left. Online dating apps can really ruin a man's self esteem. I've been told by women that I'm not bad looking but then would go on these apps and spend months swiping through every profile that came up and getting zero matches and the ones that did match with me turned out to be bots. These apps prey on men's loneliness and literally monetize it by prompting individuals to pay extra to…

That's a slippery slope OP. If a lot of people tell you you're actually normal or good looking, it may frustrate you more because you think they're just saying that to make you feel better. You may think "well if I'm not a bad looking guy why can't get a text back or a 'yes' when I ask out women?" If someone tells you you're bad looking, then that may validate the worst things you think about yourself and make you want to give up. You should like the way you look not because it will attract othe…

No. Id say some of the basics: 1. Have a sense of dignity and don't let yourself be abused 2. It is more important to look at what people do vs what they say 3. Women don't want to feel like they've settled for someone that nobody else wants. 4. It is important for you to do your best in your health, career, and live a lifestyle that you are proud of. Are true and helpful. But the largest problem with Red pill is that it fosters a binary mindset. If youre not winning youre losing. That mindset w…

Gay men do it too, and it also speaks to a larger problem in that men and women generally ignore toxic traits in women or write it off as women being 'emotional' or 'crazy' a lot of men have been in abusive relationships but they didn't recognize it because its shameful to be abused by a woman according to conventional norms around masculinity. There are men who date women who are cheaters, emotionally abusive, financially abusive, etc with the hope that they'll change or else they're straight u…

Red pill is essentially about viewing dating as a game, a game in which there are winners and losers. A view which is reinforced by media but things are very slowly changing. Didn't lose your virginity before 18? Loser Didn't sleep with many women in college? Loser Didn't have one night stands with women you barely knew? Loser Shorter than 6 feet? Loser Overweight? Loser Got married to the first girl you dated? Loser Its an ideology more focused on impressing and signaling to other men how 'masc…

If you describe him as a misogynist, how can you believe he loves you? Does he have access to a counselor? He sounds like someone who doesn't love himself. He can't love another person if he thinks he's simply always going to be a stepping stone or some respite from the usual type of man women he's interested in choose. Your best bet is to just call out that it looks like he doesn't really like or believe in himself. If he thinks you're just waiting for a 'better' man to come along, then he's es…

They're jokes poking fun at the people who believe in 'fixing' people. The belief that you're the one person who can make someone change his behavior--behavior which he has done for most of his life, is an expression of narcissism. Women who 'fix' abusive or otherwise toxic men end up leaving those relationships because he's now no longer the person they thought they were in love with.

Like most men it was a desire to make sense of what didn't seem to make sense to me. I grew up raised by my mother and absorbed so many messages in the shows and movies I watched which essentially all had the same message "be kind, be respectful, be honest, and be yourself. Inner beauty matters more than outer beauty and women aren't as shallow as men" But then I was confused as to why I often heard things from women i was interested in like "you're a great guy but [insert rejection here] and I …

This is a really good point that for whatever reason seems to generally be conveniently ignored. I was drawn to RP ideology as a result of seeing the kind of men I often heard my female friends complaining about getting dates and girlfriends. While I just didn't get anywhere being myself. I didn't understand why these guys who clearly appeared to not value or respect their girlfriend's opinions, values, time, etc. Weren't single but I was. When I was in my early 20s I found RP literature which s…
