I agree 100% with that last point. As far as RPW is concerned I'm not sure Chad needs to be discussed all that much outside of "beware these flags".

I don't know. Chad the bro douche would not be a Chad at all to some little anime girl. She wouldn't be interested in sex or a relationship with him. But the nerd with her favourite anime shirt who's a little too cool for school? Perhaps he could P&D her. It could still preserve the archetype by being that guy who just has the key to your pants and makes it a real test to say no. I'm not actually sure I disagree with you, but it's kind of an interesting point.

I caution some women against this. Physical exfoliation is difficult to do uniformly across your face and can easily result in irritation/agitation, as well as break down your natural moisture barrier. I got bad breakouts until I stopped doing exactly this. Not to diss on your tip, OP. It can be very beneficial when done right and perhaps that's what you are doing. But some women may read this and just go to town with a loofa or something, which cringe. Just do your own research as it could help…

D and I are talking about going out of town, mostly because it's a 3-day weekend and not really because it's Valentines Day. We are also almost certainly not going to a "romantic destination", I genuinely just want some quality couple time away from work and normal life. We discussed plopping down tents in the middle of a ghost town d: I don't think we will actually do that but maybe we will do like a B&B in a small town or just something similar like that? It's not a production either way, we m…

How would we do rants? I posted this thread to try and include more 'ranty' posts that are not RPW nor too much negativity. Anyway as you can see it was locked and dubbed useless. How to rant then? No duh I can't change other women, but I have no rants to offer about my SO! How do the mods envision this being done if what I did wasn't it?

The thread was the first thing I saw when I woke up this morning and I typed that out sleepy and hidden under my covers. I just reread it now a little more awake and am thinking "oh that sounds lovely!" Probably better I didn't have the energy to overthink it d:

He's pragmatic. He is the most purposeful person I've ever met. He doesn't do anything that doesn't have a direct link to accomplishing something; he's beyond focused. There's a lot to be said about never being confused with what or why he is doing something. Never being confused keeps the hamster on a pretty tight leash. He's respectful beyond belief, but also self-respecting. He's made it pretty clear what he expects out of his partner, and certainly holds me to high standards. But he reciproc…

Also "That's not very nice", or "That was uncalled for" or "I'm sorry you feel that way, I wouldn't say something like that about you" or anything similar are viable responses if she gets nasty with you or your friends. Shame her by taking the high road, not thinking of a witty comeback.

So, this is a pretty good lesson for the rest of your life. I'll give you another lesson too: some lessons you have to learn over and over. So, I'll tell you a few I've learned, but honestly at any given time I've forgotten how to employ at least one -- they're like skills, use 'em or lose 'em (but you can learn them again later too). Other people can't control your emotions. Sounds crazy, I know. This one is a tough one for me to remember all the time, but when you do it, you're pretty much unt…

To me the odd part is less the porn and more the 1-3 hours screen time + the secrecy. And even so, I'm not saying it's a problem -- I agree with you, wait until he begins slacking on any responsibilities otherwise just let him do what he's going to do. But, generally speaking, 1-3+ hours of regular screen time would concern me at least a little. And then the secrecy of it is a bit of a yellow flag as well, given their sex life (as described by OP, who knows really) it doesn't seem like he should…

Ok. Well, right to not be forced into bullshit you don't believe in. Right to make your own decisions. Right to have access to said decisions. If there's no "word" for it then idgaf "but" I choose RPW and the right to vote and all that nice stuff the suffragettes gave us. I can also appreciate other people making different, but equally viable decisions.

Definitely. But while I wish there was more lightheartedness also, I think it would be too hard to balance in practice. Compartmentalizing them into separate subs is a good way to maintain the integrity of this sub as well. The reason I would most enjoy an off topic sub is, while one would not go to a motorcycle enthusiasts sub to discuss camping, I feel like that despite the point of this sub is discussing relationship/lifestyle dynamics, etc -- we are also a community (dare I say...friends?) t…

The women that strove for the right to vote would be appalled by what feminism has become. I think this quote from Phantom sums up my opinion pretty well. And fwiw I believe in egalitarianism, as not everyone should be forced into a dynamic of male led relationship hierarchy. I however, do choose that. But it is a choice that I think others should have the right to not make.
/r/RedPillWomen26/01/16 10:04 PM

I think egalitarian is the best word, and is how I identify. I agree with (probably...I'm not a history major) everything feminism originally was meant to address. And I actually don't think all is well in the world for women yet. But I don't think all is well in the world for men either. In my own head, I think of myself as a feminist (right to vote, right to choose own path..whether that's work or SAHM/W, etc). But I wouldn't describe myself as such to others because nowadays it's transformed …

My brother is the same, 'trick' really is the right word. He has some psychological hang up about them and when we are all at my parents he requests my mom hide the vegetables in the other food so he doesn't see them. He knows there are vegetables somewhere but he's eating them willingly. A favourite of ours is spaghetti, my mom chops up the veggies sooooo small and puts them in with crazy amounts of sausage and whatever else.

I think it's also a possibility moving from "I hate you for making me be awake" to "you're the bestest" could be a little too drastic of a swing which would make him call bullshit and likely feel awkward for her. I love what LP (so not typing out that username lol) said about saying things like "you're cute", and maybe OP could transition by saying things like "you're lucky you're so cute or I would not be up" or "this is way too early for me, that's how I know it's love, baby" -- idk, just maki…

I didn't make it through the whole thing. Honestly, all the situations are stupid in and of themselves; there is definitely something going on here but it's either poor communication skills, incompatibility, or something else. In either case the micro-analysis of each interaction is like trying to blow out the birthday candles with a fire extinguisher. You are definitely thinking too far ahead in terms of immediate planning, but it is very responsible to look at current complications/problems and see how we can mitigate their effects in our future. Now, I'm not a doctor or a qualified anything on any of that. So I'm not going to offer any advice on that. I think that's an imperfect analogy because a baby is a helpless creature and a husband is a capable adult. I'm not saying how it should be, but I hardly think protecting the lives of the innocent is a good yardstick for how to manage your extracurriculars. I believe what /u/StingrayVC is suggesting is more along the lines of: the marriage is what the family, and the children, is built on. You cannot have anything without that partnership. I love things like that. I'm new to the city I'm in, which is actually pretty funny because it's where I grew up but I just haven't been here in so long I still don't know anybody. I've been looking into getting into tea, proper like! I used to be a giant coffee drinker (the kind nobody would ever believe capable of quitting), but my anxiety was so bad I had to wean myself off. Oil cleansing is using oil as..well, a cleanser. I would recommend doing your own research in /r/AsianBeauty as there are so many options and pros for different oil, it would depend on your skin type. But really, you just grab some oil and get rubbing. It will take off all your makeup, as oil picks up the oils in your face and other debris. You then (typically) follow it with a regular gentle cleanser. This part is especially important if you use a chemical exfoliant as it won't work through the…

That's a unilateral perspective on the dynamic. Good bosses make decisions that are great for the company -- they make decisions that keep everyone moving toward their goals. Those decisions may be terrible for the employees, or it maybe terrible for themselves, but they are doing what is necessary for all involved parties. Why don't those people quit? Because it's a crappy world out there and sometimes it gets rough but it's better to camp up with someone who has the collective's best interests…

Wonderful! I'm curious as to why there is no 'M' value for medium? I have no doubt it was already considered and determined to be not useful and/or non-existent. I could completely see my relationship being MMM. He is so alpha in some ways, but was raised with traditional values, respect and kindness toward women and certainly some other 'beta' type comfort traits. Within the current framework I would likely see us fitting best into the HHH category.

Also, I would clean up and dress up your baby for his home coming as well. Especially if you have a little girl. Depending on the babies age, have him/her say thank you as well. Nothing melts daddy's heart like his family understanding and acknowledging his sacrifices. This is really basic yet not obvious, and I don't think I've ever actually seen it said. Amazing, excellent point.

Honestly that all sounds spot on. A spotless house and a good meal will go so much farther than any other forced gesture. If he has some kind of manly solo activity he likes, maybe some kind of voucher related to that -- i.e., my SO hunts and fishes a lot, so a gift card to a bait shop would be a kind thought and a signal to go freaking unwind. That's all I can think of though.

Second depends on the man. I asked my SO if partner count was important to him (I was curious because mine is not particularly low, 10+, but he's already well aware of it and never seemed bothered at all). He dropped a lot of RP truths (he doesn't know about TRP or Reddit) but they came out a lot different than classic RP. First thing that caught my attention was he said a high count is an absolute no-go, he said almost verbatim "if I can just sleep with you that's a problem, and I'm not going t…

The biggest difference is when she breaks up with an ex, they are (presumably) out of her life. But you are her friend. She finds new boyfriend, and he would be right to be uncomfortable with your relationship with her.

And she can tell a guy whatever she wants, but we don't advocate speaking sexually with males, or anyone aside from your partner really. You are already a liability to her future relationship. Also men can't give helpful advice to women and vice versa. It doesn't work.

Suggest the Surrendered Single to her. Tell her your sister read it or something tamer than the cult told you to read it. Tell her the Surrendered Wife (its counterpart) is a great resource even if you aren't in a relationship at the moment. Those are a bit more top soil than this sub and full of great info.

Your father is right about that last part. At 17 and unsure about everything now, the best thing you can do after this relationship ends is work on becoming the best you possible. Work on becoming the best partner you can be, so that a wonderful man would love to be with you.

You dated him, you married him. This isn't an issue like "he never hit me while I was dating and then he started to after we were married". His IQ has always been the same, and if it is low, he wasn't hiding it while you were dating because that just isn't possible. Your answer for what have you done to solve the problem? Pathetic. Start LIGHT! I am decently proficient with makeup and I rarely wear anything that a man would notice as makeup -- if it isn't an unnatural color, they usually can't tell; just today I mentioned my foundation to my SO and he asked if I was wearing any makeup.....I was wearing full foundation, light contouring, nude eyeshadows, and my eyebrows were filled in (which isn't a subtle difference on me lol). I know all men aren't like that (and your man will obviously notice if you've never worn it) but…

Then IMO as far as nightclubs are concerned, social proof be damned. Going out with the night crowd without him will kill your relationship from the inside out faster than anything. But losing all your friends and sitting home alone all the time? Yes, perhaps. I think your best bet with this one is the ever-elusive concept of 'balance'...which I have no pointers for, haha.

Does he have a problem with you going out with friends who are drinking even if you are not? I feel like that shouldn't be a blanket issue, "no you around alcohol", not necessarily anyway. As an example, "don't go out to the nightclubs without me"? That doesn't sound very unreasonable. For starters, safety is still a concern as even water can get date raped. Plus I don't know how much good really ever happens at night clubs. They can be fine on occasion but I wouldn't even want to go to a scene …

I'd only suggest there be one teeny half step before nexting him, which would be stating outright "marriage is a requirement for my life". Not "YOU need to reconsider marriage" or anything about him, just a simple "I need this." If he falters for even a second on it, move along. But perhaps he said what he did in the thick of the drama and didn't realize what it would cost him. I mean if he wants kids he is clearly for lifelong commitment, maybe it wouldn't be such a stretch. Or maybe it would b…

It's outside politics. So non-governmental work; we work in various capacities. Some contracts with incumbents, some with candidates, and others with outside spending groups. And sir yes sir, that's why I have RPW to thank for a lot of it. It's hard to not point out what's wrong and hope it gets better (still mess up sometimes), but it's far more effective to focus on what's right and watching everyone improve because they want to.

It's a wee difficult to explain, but using RP terms: My SO is pretty freaking alpha (like, if I screw up he's out the door, home, and enjoying a glass of whiskey before I know what hits me). Naturally though (he's never heard of TRP and probably would not like it) so it doesn't really manifest itself in the same way I see a lot of RP talk. I would best describe him as primarily MGTOW. That's a huge responsibility that I doubt many men would appreciate, a child that's not theirs being pawned off on them. A mentor and role model sure, but almost all his raising? I don't see very many people wanting to step into those shoes.

I almost disagree with the concepts and would say it's the terminology that shuts people off. I feel like if, in conversation with someone who has either 0 knowledge (or worse, peripheral knowledge) of TRP and you use words like "alpha/beta", "cock carasoul", "the wall", "AWALT", "MGTOW"....you're going to get some bad reactions. But if I talk to people about self-respecting men, or female entitlement, or as an RPW if I phrase it "focussing on adding value to my SO's life" as opposed to "surrend…

Because I'm a frequent poster in RPW and get that a lot of TRP is "locker room talk" the women shouldn't listen to. The fundamentals of it are still solid though. That makes a lot of sense -- even though the conduit of the information is a female, it's still essentially lessons still taught by males. Honestly parenting freaks me out if not just for that last paragraph you mentioned. I feel like it would be so hard to reach such lessons without it turning into adults just being dramatic and cautioning you against all the fun stuff in life (like a 16 year old boy finding a skeezy female friend and forgetting the potential consequences). The difficult line I see is so many qualities that (I think) even a good (RP) man would have that can be taught by the mother can accidentally become lessons in BP apathy, etc. For example basic manners (opening doors for women, etc) but not cross over into bb behaviours (always picking up the check, etc). Or basic home keeping responsibilities (ensuring he isn't a slob who can't care for himself, but not spending copious amounts of time cooking and cleaning). I mean I don't have any children an…

I agree but I would like to think there is a role the mother can play to help, or at least not harm the process. edit: consider perhaps the example of a widowed woman, even that of a decently alpha military man. Or perhaps not even widowed, but her husband is actively serving overseas. What can she do to raise the best man possible? Go out and get some male role models to be sure (grandfathers, sports coaches, etc) -- but ultimately she is still the one raising him and living with him. How can s…

Yes, the superficiality of it is precisely what I meant. Same as in RPW how we preach putting on a dress does not a feminine woman make. Self-respect and conduct matters beyond compare, but if you couple a self-respecting and confident man with the etiquettes of opening doors, etc (I wouldn't even put paying for meals on the list), then that's just going to be a quality person. Woman here -- question: how do you walk the line between teaching your son (hypothetical, I have no children) how to be an exemplary gentleman. I agree with the traditional gender roles bit; but if there is a disconnect between the action and the attitude it turns BB pretty quick. Ie, my SO was taught by his mother to open doors for women, alongside all those other more important traits you listed (she's not American so it all came naturally). Without those, it turns into some sniveling BB showc…

So hard to say. So much of it changes from person to person. I'm all about complementing what you're already working with. Ie, facial hair. Some men look great with a beard. Some just scruff. Some clean shaven. I don't have a personal preference for any of those, but I do notice when someone is trying to force a look that just isn't for them. Height does matter. I would date someone shorter than me if we had the chance to connect and I thought we were compatible, but I wouldn't go out of my way …

We were broke and you can get surprisingly cheap frozen seafood at places like Whole Foods. Also I'm not sure if you've ever tried those other vegetable type noodles....I'm so drawing a blank on the name (someone help me out!) but they are made from yam roots or something and are like 15 calories for a sizable bag…

I think it's wiser for men and women to marry young than when they're older all other variables aside. He has a lot more to lose from the arrangement than she does. I wouldn't advise any young man to entertain the idea of marriage before 24 or so unless it's a 4+ year relationship or something. From what I gather you were seeing two guys at the same time and just stuck with the one that stayed around the longest. So this relationship was born out of the sake of convenience. No, that wasn't it. I didn't bother explaining but my last relationship was a childish one that ended with college. We didn't invest anything in one another other than feelz. Also you seem to be prone to impulsive decisions and being guided by your emotions. That is very, very true. No denying that. I get the feelin…

Is it really such a big deal if plans change or if you're not able to make it? You don't need to be with him every time he's social. No, it really isn't. It just sucks when we want to make plans but he can't commit until R figures out what C is doing so I get put on standby. Which, I 100% get is because he's not willing to put his brother in the same position. But we are LDR so it's not like I just "stay home" if that happens (which I'd be totally fine with). I drive 100 miles to see him and don…

A very small tactic I use that helps me a lot, is when we have serious discussions I try and sit lower than him. Usually on the floor at the foot of his recliner, or on his lap. The body language of it keeps my head in a place of accepting what he's saying and it's incredibly non-confrontational. I've also found it helps him shift quickly over into leading because he's in the dominant position. Not a big general help but hopefully a useful tidbit (:

So what if you are the water right now? Be the best damn water you can be. Flow around them gracefully. Those are wise words. And that's a very good point about the minerals and quality alone time. Where I've been living I've had way too much time alone (I'm in the snow without a snow car, unemployed, and spend 20 hours a day alone in my room), don't get proper food, and rarely see the sun. All this insanity is so far from who I am, which is why I'm having such a hard time dealing with it. I'm n…

As far as I can see, you are really anxious, and reading a lot of things into the relationships with other people. True, true and true. D has accused me of politicizing situations that don't need it. But he unintentionally puts so much pressure on me...I'm a little too informed as to what everyone's qualms with me are. And I'm beginning to feel like our relationship is a democracy with his family and my vote counts for less and less by the day. Last week was the longest amount of time D and I go…

THAT is true. I would actually argue the men bashing tends to be the gender as a whole, and women tend to bash on individual levels. I've never noticed it before and I know it's a generalization but hmm. Interesting.

A lot of people say, well I suck at math/science/insert excuse. But 9 out of 10 times, it's a lack of motivation and unwillingness to work hard. If you suck at it, then get better. Yeah but why would you put effort into sucking less at something when you have skills you don't suck at? I mean, what you're saying is fair (like yes, you could get better), but for many it's a waste of time with no end. Look at the Gallup analysis of professional skills and strengths. Each skill is ranked on a natura…

That's very, very true. And on-campus housing would be a fantastic option for her. It's over-priced and that's a fact, but it's very low risk. I would rather pay $1000/month for low-risk, easily managed housing than $800/month for all the logistical responsibilities of a lease with a landlord, etc. (and the cost of breaking said lease if something doesn't work out). Even as a plan for just a first semester and then finding something else, it would be a big burden off her shoulders having her hou…

I'm not clear on how one pays for university in North America, so I'll let someone else chime in on that. OP, if you need help I can give you some information on that. The financial processes for uni in the US are convoluted and daunting, but a lifesaver. OH! Huge one -- in addition to everything else: DO THE DISHES. At least offer, insistently. That's the one place I would say get borderline aggressive instead of idley offering. If everyone is around the table and nobody has made moves in a while, just stand and begin asking guests if you can collect their plates. Or when the hostess gets up jump and help her. She will likely shoo you off, but you can gracefully insist. The only exception would be if she seems like she is going to take offense a…

Ok well than I think we can assume the best of each other's argument here, and I don't think it's so far a stretch to use a working definition of "feminine" as "behaviors typically exhibited by human animals with 2 X chromosomes" and masculine as the opposite. Fair point that the words and their meanings change over time, but barring evolution makes and females do not.

Hahahaha what a compliment!! It's definitely not all sunshine and daisies, and for a long time there we had a cloud hanging over us of all my things to work on. RPW has helped me so much it's not funny. I've seen a few times around the sub, that the common wisdom is full RP internalization is 6 month to a year. I constantly remind myself that I can't make time move faster and this is not even close to the end of all the improvements our relationship can make!

Yes!!! And it's SO good. I mean I personally love cottage cheese but even people who don't tend to like it in the eggs. He's part Armenian so a lot of what he makes has Mediterranean influences. Total learning curve. Don't give up. Being a mentor is probably a hugely positive thing for both you and them. Absolutely keep doing that. Struggling with small talk is understandable, but it's the building blocks of many relationships. Romantic, professional, platonic -- it would be good in many aspects of your life to become more comfortable with it. That being said, small talk doesn't have to be useless "so how's the weather?" You can make it purposeful and I think focussing on bringing other…

My SO whips his scrambles with cottage cheese, which makes it fantastically fluffy. As far as actual recipes go, I like parfait! I don't have any great advice but I think you should take your square peg and round hole analogy a different directions. I actually ended up using adult skype time to make sure he stayed at home long enough for the deliveryman to arrive hahaha. And he got all his favourite foods so even from afar my man has a full stomach and empty balls and he had a big smile about it. I got awesome suggestions from this thread!

Idk why you got a downvotes, adult skype time is a staple of our relationship for 7-10 days at a time! I updated above but I actually ordered him food -- and gave him an adult skype show so I could be sure he was at home for the delivery guy hahahaha. It worked out perfectly! I guess even from afar I followed common RPW wisdom to keep his stomach full and balls empty -- he was really really grateful. Thanks for the suggestion d:

So I updated above but I asked my mom if she could cook something for him and she told me mailing it would end very badly lol. I ended up ordering all his favourite comfort foods with a sweet note and got enough that he could offer to his new roommates. Dinner was totally the best idea so thank you! I could tell it was a huge relief and help to him + yummy food (:

So there was no tea place, but I did end up doing food even though I couldn't cook for him! I updated the OP but I delivered all his favourite comfort foods with a sweet note and enough to offer to share with his roommates, who he just met and moved in with. It was a total success (:

I updated above but I ended up sending him all his favourite comfort foods and enough for 2-3 meals and to share with his roommates, who he just moved in with and doesn't know that well yet. I ordered Mediterranean food but I still totally did the note. Please share with your roommates because sharing is caring and I know you're not even going to eat it all. Love, the Lorax." My SO and I both want to live in the same (specific) city together and because of the job market and the BS of being a twenty-something in 21st century America, we both live in different places and neither of us can get to that city (spoiler: it's not New York or anywhere crazy either, it's just where we are from).

That's actually a really good point. If she wants to not quit drinking, not value having a great physique, not need to work, and have a hot guy who makes enough to afford her mansion, her (likely expensive) spending habits, and her partridge and a pear tree -- then some kind of debutant arranged marriage is probably an awesome option.

I think you nailed it. And frankly I'm worried I got a little harsh with my responses. Unfortunately, dropping the partying is just not possible for me. Not because I'm an alcoholic or anything, but because i'm an extrovert. So are a lot of us. There's only a million things to do not drinking. I use to drink a very normal amount for a 20-22 year old when I was in college. I don't have a complete answer but I did disagree with her in the Surrendered Single about being adamant they pick you up. From a safety perspective, I think it's important to have your own vehicle on a first date (or any of the introductory dates). For that reason alone I wouldn't suggest it, though I think the spirit of why she says that makes sense. And then for paying, I always suggest be prepared to offer to pay for yourself but then quickly move to graciously accepting if he offers.

(and I have had guys propose the "no expectations" type of relationship before but if the relationship is going anywhere, things will fall into place into a normal bf/gf relationship with expectations and boundaries) Yep, this is how it always goes even when we do such a great job of convincing ourselves that this time it will be different. If you don't mind me asking, when did you realize you really, truly wanted to be with him? It sounds like at first, he was more into you than you were into him, and you were totally fine to be a plate. I don't mind at all and your first assessment is pretty accurate. Ill try not to tell you my life story but also give a complete answer. This is decently embarrassing, but our relationship started pretty much as un-RP as it could possibly be. Lol I disagree with everything here. Until I met my SO I had never been fishing. He was a sponsored bass fisherman on his university team so needless to say it's a big part of his life. We went the first time at some dinky easy pond and it was a blast. The next time he surprised me with knee-high galoshes and we hiked through some crap down by the river. I brought 2 things with me: a water bottle and a ziplock baggie filled with toilet paper. The toilet paper for bathroom needs and the baggie to…

I'm 23 and don't have an answer for you, but I do have a related question I'd like to tag on that I'm not sure warrants its own post: How many RPW here are post-wall? I know many of our endorsed contributors are married and older, some with kids. My question is more, how does it feel hitting and passing the wall? I ask because even long before RPW I've been scared of the wall. and that fear really comes from acknowledgement that so much of how I perceive the world and how it treats me is because…

I think it's a easy thing to do, both with your SO and the world at large. How many times have you rehearses a whole conversation with a professor, or boss, or someone you just plain don't like? It's the same thing I notice happening with my SO, but on a smaller, and more subversive, scale. I think the biggest thing that helps me avoid it is reminding myself it's myself I'm doing a disservice to if I continue the behavior. I'm going to quote what /u/PhantomDream09 said in response to that, The emotional acrobatics serve no purpose. Do you have some kind of anxiety? I mean that caringly, I do and it's something my SO and I both have to deal with. IMO your headspace is just all wrong right now. If you want to get better then being "engrossed with how disgusting I am" is not the proper way to look at it. I have made him yell at me, be disappointed in me, made him loose days because of sadness and anger. This language strikes me as victimizing yourself. It makes your SO sound abusive, which I'm not picking up as being the case from the rest of the post. So if on the off-hand chance he is, then the obligatory leave him and keep yourself safe. But what seems a lot more likely to me is that you do want help and to improve, but you're still really making this a "poor me" issue. If you want him, or us…

This kind of happened to me once. I met a guy at a party and we hit it off great, but my ride was leaving so I had to go abruptly. I gave him my number...and then within 5 minutes of leaving dropped my phone and broke it. I was 18 at the time and obviously crushed to miss out on The Cutest Guy Ever so I went full stalker and found his Facebook. I came clean about the crazy and he thought it was cute. Act as if it's someone you've just met. You're not going to be rude for no reason, but you also wouldn't be overly familiar. I tend to avoid questions that can have long, drawn out answers "how is your family? How do you like your new job?", etc. Then end quickly with "well it was pleasant running into you, hope you have a great rest of your week". (Also be careful with phrasing, at least with exes 'it was pleasant running into you' vs 'I'm glad to see you'). When in doubt think "professional" -…

Ask her to set you up on a date. It will force her to re-evaluate her relationship to you. You're her emotional tampon, but she could lose you. Does she engage sexually/romantically to keep you? If she cares, she'll have to decide. And then if she doesn't, you still meet a new girl. Win/win.

I think /u/PhantomDream09 is nailing it here, but one perspective I want to add regarding her lack of qualifications: I think that's a very valid thing to point out and much better and discussion-worthy than nebulous "I don't like the vibe of her" reasons you're giving him; but you're doing what you dislike about her. I agree. I think there is a difference between a woman sticking it out with a man after a bout of unemployment or other financial hardships (or man sticking with woman, whatever), and then this, which is a lot more like displayed apathy on his part. Turning over all your information? Sure if you want to, I guess. Your man hasn't asked for it, so it seems unnecessary. No. Never make a woman the center of your life. It's a negative, pure symptom of beta. I dont think him putting her ahead of his family, who he is not close with at all, automatically equals her being the center of his life. I think a lot of it is about context. It took me 4 years of visiting bars before I accepted drinks from men. At first I had a blanket policy of "no" because I felt like it gave them a sense of entitlement to my time and attention. For me, if I'm interested I would rather give those things willingly then engage in some kind of covert exchange. If I'm not interested, I don't want the guilt of taking your drink money and moving along. Now I can tell the difference between one kind of drink purchase…

We usually do something based in white wine. I'm not going to lie, SO is the kitchen captain (I'm a trusty helper though!) -- I think he usually cooks the seafood in white wine, butter, and complementary spices (garlic! Lots of garlic!) and then lets it summer and reduce a bit. Then at the last second we put in the hot water to the "pasta" for seriously like 60 seconds, too long and it starts to get water logged. Then strain out the water and add the whole pan of seafood + cooking sauces and enj…

It works exactly like a peeler (slide it along veggies), but it doesn't take the skin off, it shreds the vegetable into "noodles" for you to cook as pasta for a healthier spaghetti or whatever you want to make (:

This guy! My SO and I love it. We make zucchini pasta all the time. It's so easy too, we cut one in half lengthwise (so the zucchini is 2 long flat surfaces) and just run this down it to make pasta until it runs out. Maybe 2-3 zucchinis for both of us. Then we make a pasta sauce, usually with white wine and butter, and some frozen seafood (not that expensive!). The "noodles" only take 60 seconds of immersion in hot water to soften. I cannot scare someone into telling the truth except by threatening to leave the relationship and if it has reached this point I basically have already left. Wisdom. Yeah but it's still kind of a good point. I think you're right to be wary. I certainly wouldn't say he's playing you or anything like that, but he shouldn't be pressuring you if it's only been a few days of 'exclusivity'. There's no harm in asking on his end, of course he wants it. These aren't hacks like yours so much as a couple basic strategies, but Every time you cook, wash the dishes then wipe the counters then sweep the floors. My mom taught me not to help people when they won't help themselves. I've always abided by that, if you're willing then I'll do anything I can. But people who just expect without doing will never benefit from any help you give them. More recently I've heard it expressed as "you're not obligated to keep others warm by lighting yourself on fire". I'm really fond of that analogy. Don't sacrifice your well-being.

It's safety, and should be brought up. RPW doesn't mean doing things that makes you uncomfortable, particularly when your well being is concerned. You also don't need to nag. Present him with your problem, not your solution. Don't say "please drive slower", say "I know you enjoy driving fast but when I'm in the car it makes me feel scared." It's not too personal -- and it wasn't temporary was the problem. We actually did do it temporarily. I graduated June 14 in town with no jobs and astronomical rent, and he stayed for classes/a good job for his major/ending his lease. We managed an LDR for 8 months, from June to February across 200 miles, but then I got a job 500 miles away. We were going to be in that position until a minimum of September when his lease expired (so still hasn't even happened yet), and even then it was impossible…

I think something as simple as "Thank you for how you handled the furniture ordeal. I appreciate you not only resolving that, but also keeping calm while my dad interjected." would kill two birds with one stone. I appreciate your conflict resolution skills. I recognize my dad was making things difficult and you handled that well also.

So I've never been in quite the same position, but when it comes to productivity and business my 3 rules are the laws of physics. An object in motion stays in motion An object at rest stays at rest The greatest expenditure of energy is moving an object from rest into motion You're going to be quite busy which is decently standard for me, and I just tell myself to "just keep moving" until the day's end. Now the most difficult part is at the day's end putting it all away and having a bit of you + …

Not true. Our sexual relationship was more than mutually satisfactory.

It's alright, we both took it in stride. We're both just young and right out of college without much financial support from our families. We just didn't have the means to live anywhere near one another. Finding work and just getting the bills paid is definitely as hard as they say in this day and age. I'm definitely not looking for a new relationship until I'm established enough that this won't have to happen again. In the mean time I hope some of these tips get enjoyed by you or others!

We recently parted ways due to unfortunate circumstances, but my favourite moments with him were always Cooking together. He's a better cook than I am so I loved being taught and then having him request food that he had taught me. Once he taught me something he wouldn't explain it again and it was a big accomplishment to give him food he liked. After a long day I loved to take our clothes off and just lie skin-to-skin. Some times it lead to hanky panky, other times no. Laying with him and feelin…

I think the first step is asking your man what he thinks, don't load the question, just get his honest opinion. In reality, it's 2 weeks, and I sincerely doubt on the front of job preparations/etc you'll be able to get anything more meaningful done than gaining some unique experience that you can potentially speak to later. I mean sure it is a holiday but it's not a 0-sum game for life/professional productivity. Unless your captain has some earnest concerns (which again, it's 2 weeks, I've gone …

Trying to keep this pill-related and not get into Sci-Fi discussions that aren't really sub-relevant (unless you want to get into crazy gender-dynamic hypotheticals). In my completely biased opinion, no I do not think it is the greatest power. Worst case scenario any floozie and push a crotch fruit out from between her legs; best case scenario motherhood can be a very noble purpose for a woman and fatherhood can create the ultimate alpha-provider and beta-partner. I don't want kids at all, but o…

So responding here but also to quote the comment below as well, What men don't get is that for women, everything is an indicator of something else. The winds are always being tested to ensure the ship is running smoothly. Beyond losing the money, I'm sure you were also not impressed with your captain losing control of himself. I see your reservations. To be a captain, he has to lead and watch out for you. He made some perhaps irresponsible decisions. That's fair to set your antennas up (particul…
