I appreciate the tough love. You are almost certainly right that these are small problems and may not even be widely noticed other than by myself. If I were to magically fix them I'd do better with women not because they suddenly think I look better but because I'd feel better and more confident. I'm going to try and change how I feel about these features but it's hard after a lifetime of hating them to turn it on its head!

Very valid point. Im not sure any one system will be perfect. I recently asked a friend for feedback on what was one of my favourite photos of myself. She came back with positive feedback initially because she didn't want to hurt my feelings. Only later did it come out she thought it was unflattering and made me look years older.

Sure, I know general things to shoot for. What I'm going for is comparing subtle differences. I had a photographer take a number of portraits of me recently. Much like marketers will test similar versions of the same ad for the best reaction I'm comparing similar but different photos from the shoot. Like I said, I've geeked out a bit on this and it's at least part social experiment as well as to help my online game.

Very relevant. Here I am thinking about the perfect thing to say when it's really a lost cause.

Is there ever a case where a guy would make the first move toward a ltr or is it the girl who should be breaching the subject? Guess I've gotten so use to leading in all aspects it feels weird to not do so in this as well!

I'm definitely looking out for that book. Thank you for the recommendation.

I can relate to how you're feeling. Though sometimes I still feel like that I think it's important to think about what YOU have going on right now. Someone put it in a way I really liked: live your own adventure, let her join for the ride.

Love this post! Though I'm a bit frustrated. I'm a Canadian living in London also- I rarely get matches, and when I do even fewer respond. When I'm traveling, (esp Eastern Europe), all of a sudden I get matches constantly, more responses, and can easily hook up. I don't get it, I'm doing the same fucking thing in both places.

This would be either a response from a direct question or brought up in conversation about dating/gender politics ect during a first date. Appreciate the input, thanks!

I appreciate this. I just flashed back to a girl I was out with a while ago who called me out for commenting on multiple things she did/ was saying about her being “really cute.” With the power of hindsight it’s pretty obvious that while well intentioned I came of pretty disingenuous. Thanks for your input.

I've always felt that if you have to ask, something ain't right in the first place. Wrap it up either way.

So I think you've hinted at something that might ring true. My career- or job rather, isn't anything that's bringing passion to my life. It's a means to an end. I justify 'selling out' for a paycheque because I'm living abroad in Europe right now. I spent the past 3 months backpacking though a number of countries and recently took this short term gig to support future adventures. I know long term I will have to work in a field that is fun/interesting for me, but right now I've made the concessio…

I'm somewhere between introverted and extroverted. So for me alone time is necessary as I enjoy being very independant. There needs to be a balance though, because if I go too long without being social and with other people then I start to feel negative.

I hadn't really considered meditation before, but I think this could be useful for me. When I'm feeling particularly negative it's my practice to write out everything I'm feeling, why I feel that way, and make suggestions for how I can improve whatever situation. This often helps get those repetitive 'swirling' thoughts out of my head, and at least something actionable to do. I like your suggestion though because I think it could affect my overall wellbeing, not just after the fact.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
