I started seeing this girl about two and a half months ago. We’ve seen each other fairly regularly since then, but it has always been fairly casual. I can just tell something’s changed recently. When we first were going out she would text me tons, would reply super quick, ect. I haven’t been blowing up her phone or anything crazy like that, but her responses have changed drastically. A week after we had last hung out I texted an invite to an event I was going to with a friend, hardly got a response from her. It’s been another week where neither of us texted; I dropped her a friendly message, suggesting meeting up sometime soon. No response.

My gut tells me this is probably over. The dynamic has shifted completely, even if she did respond now I’d probably assume she was just doing so to keep me orbiting. I’m annoyed; if someone doesn’t want to see me I’d rather be told straight up, then be left in limbo. Is this reasonable though? I know it’s not easy to have that conversation with somebody. I’d probably still feel shitty if she did, but I’d certainly move on faster and respect her for it. (I’ve been able to stay friends, once the dust settles, with girls who have taken this approach in the past). How do you deal with this, just stop texting and get on with life? How do I deal with this bruised ego without doing something immature?
