She thinks it’s normal, her and her ex and his family hang out like that. I’m not interested

I try and teach positivity in the house so I try not to let my negative feelings flow onto them about her. I know they love her and I do not want to change that. If she changes it by her actions then that is something I cannot control. I do not speak ill but will not lie to them either.

I appreciate all the comments and advice. My main priority right now is focusing on my kids and myself. I just want to do what I can to be the best father for them, but she was trying to make me feel like I was not being a good father, by not wanting to do all these things together.

Thank you for the words. That is what I have been doing, I try to get the kids as much as possible and we enjoy all the time we can together. I have an older child from a previous relationship so I know how valuable these younger years are because once they hit a certain age, you don’t get to see him nearest much as you would like to.

He has a history of dui and substance abuse, was messed up and did a hit and run because if he got caught with a dui again he was going to jail. Never stopped to see if people in other vehicle was ok. Has a huge casenet sheet. I feel bad for my kids. My attorney said to monitor And document and be prepared.

My ex is with the guy she cheated with and I just found out yesterday he was locked up earlier this year for violating probation and just last week pled guilty to a felony and is now on 5 year supervised probation. When I expressed I did not feel comfortable having my children around him she said he just got a bad judge and the judicial system railroaded him. Said he is a great guy.

That’s exactly what I do. The kids and I have a great time here at the house. My son 9 know what’s going on for sure, my daughter 5 he and I try to protect more. Usually he comes to me at night and we talk about the things that are bothering him. We had a good talk session tonight.

No child support everything concerning kids split equally. I do keep a log.

My biggest worry is how it affects my kids. I am a passive person about most things in life but do not like when anyone upsets my children.

Apparently he has already had her around his kids. All her new friends are actually his friends. They live the bar hopping life right now. I’m happy to keep the kids all the time if she would let me.

Thank you for the comments, I have been through divorce before, but never with kids, so I am just lost.

The problem I’m having the most with mine right now is her quote was “I’m not giving up my new life just because I have my kids“ this was what she told me when I had an issue a week or so ago about them all going to a movie together with some of his friends. I simply asked her to ask the kids what they would rather do so that way they had a choice in it, they chose not to go to the movie with her and came to my house.

Mine started buying more sexy clothes saying she wanted to boost her confidence in herself and that she never does anything for herself. Then used those clothes to show her boobs off everywhere and now she with a new man and I’m with my kids.

That’s one of my fears. The last thing I want is for my kids to resent their mother. Well, the last thing I wanted them to know was a split household but now I don’t want them to resent their mother. I hate the fact she’s acting the way she is but I know her heads not right hasn’t been right for a while I know the affairs been going on for months. We waited until the divorce finalized before she moved out just because we wanted them not to have to deal with it during the school year. But the las…

I appreciate the words. Yeah that’s the thing I hate most for them is that they have lost the mother that they’ve known for their whole life. They do not understand why or what’s going on in that breaks my heart.

I appreciate the advice. I definitely think I’m gonna have a conversation with him tonight and let him know. I felt like that was something important that she needed to know and I am going to prepare him that she is going to talk to him about it. I know it’s just hard for them right now because she was super mom that kept the house in check and they always talk to her about any of their feelings and now she’s checked out pretty much. For the most part, they are doing a lot better than I expected…

I definitely see where you’re coming from on that. She will not actually have him until next week. I am also wondering if maybe I should have a conversation with him and prepare him that she is going to talk to him about all this. They like to talk to their mom on video call, but she never would video called them just so they could see her face, I did speak to her about that, and she actually started video calling them afterwards and made the kids so excited just because they could see her face.…

With friends, she would tell me a girl friend of hers I knew and had met and they use to go out every now and then, (we live in a small town and she would party in a college town an hour away her girlfriend lived close to that town) but for last few months before divorce it was 7+ times a month and I knew something wasn’t right. I confronted her and I was told I was being controlling because I didn’t want to allow it and she couldn’t be in a controlling relationship like that and I had changed. …

Mine told me I was controlling because I didn’t want her to go out partying two nights a week and not come home because the kids always ask questions of. Why does mommy not come home? Then come to find out the “friend” she was going out and partying with that I had never heard of in my life at that time, is now her boyfriend after our divorce, and I have found out since the divorce from close, friends and family members of her that they were together long before we were not together. But still, …

That’s exactly right. She has been moved out for three weeks now and has had the kids twice overnight. The biggest thing I am trying to do is spend as much time with my kids and make them feel comfortable and let them know that I am here for them always because in conversations that I’ve had with them I know right now they are in a very vulnerable state.

That’s what I did. We had the conversation last night. The first thing she did was walk in and say I know you think I cheated on you but I promise I didn’t. We just started having sex three days after our divorce finalized even though we were talking and hanging out while we were married he was just a really good friend to me, so don’t accuse me of that. I immediately laughed and just said let’s get to talking about how to be coparents.

Reading your responses and talking with a friend that went through something similar to this I agree nothing can be done about marriage and no point in dredging it up. My friend described him asking those questions to his ex as giving her a gun and loading it for her and when she answered it was like she pulled the trigger. I have to get more into the mindset that we are not friends anymore, a friend would not treat you like that. We are parents with 2 amazing children and nothing more to each o…

You guys are probably right, it is just hard because she denies ever doing anything with the guy while married but has admitted 3 days after the divorce finalized they were together. I have known for a while that something was going on but whenever I questioned who was calling or who she was out with or why she wasn't wearing her wedding ring I got accused of being controlling and abusive for asking those questions. Just trying to get my mental state right so that I can be strong and not break d…

I do tell them that she loves them and it will be ok and she is working some things out. I just hope that is enough. I want them to always see her as the amazing mom she was when home. They started to notice she was gone all the time at the end of the marriage and I am afraid they are feeling like they are not as important to her now by comments they make.
