Can you be more specific? It's a subreddit dedicated to helping you practice by setting specific quantifiable goals. Read the sidebar :)

I can't just walk up to her and ask her out. Yes you can, that's exactly what you do. Have you checked out /r/100sets?

39 and starting over for a 4th time dude. Experience is no guarantee of anything. The way I look at it, you're 2 years younger without any of the baggage I have. They'd rather date you. Just kidding, I don't look at it that way because I'm awesome and three women wanted to spend their lives with me, some guys don't get even one. It didn't work out obviously, but that's not stopping me or them from continuing the search. So go start your search man, the only things holding you back are the storie…

In my experience there is no substitute for a beautiful woman who actually cares about you.

That seems easy enough. "You know those movie scenes where the waitress writes her phone number on the receipt? This is one of those scenes." ;)

That's a cool idea. Would you handle it the same if it were a coffee shop you went to all the time?

| Then why would she want to go out on a date of any sort? Because she hasn't really sworn them off, she's just hurting. I talked about that directly with her. I surmised that there were many men who would be thrilled to have a casual relationship with her, and I asked why she was spending her time with me instead. She answered with a non-answer, explaining past betrayals and her newly-formed low opinion of people in general and men specifically. I told her it's a big world and I sometimes meet …

As it turned out, her last relationship ended badly and she is nervous about getting into a new one. So she has sworn them off.

It wasn't in the original post but that was one of the many laps we made. I did offer to just meet up another night, that was one of the first alternatives I proposed.

Yeah there are several comments about alpha/beta. I never really thought of it that way. I thought of it like this: it's only our first date, and I'm looking for someone who values one-on-one time. I don't want to be with someone who doesn't, and I don't want her to believe that it's okay with me if people tag along. I guess what I mean is I was genuinely not interested in the idea; it wasn't designed to control her, except maybe to set the precedent early.

| You force a girl to chose between you or her brother? This is an interesting reaction, one I notice is pervasive. Force means to deprive of free will. If I threaten you with or inflict harm to get what I want, that is force. I am depriving you of your free will to do what you otherwise might. If I "threaten" you by saying that I won't participate if my conditions aren't met, that is not force. That's me exercising free will and not impeding yours in any way. There was no threat to act against …

Are you talking about the message or the delivery? Delivery may be a little rough, but the message was fair: I absolutely did not want to go on a date with her brother.
/r/seduction10/09/12 06:40 AM

Totally 100% agree. We did end up going on a date, but it pretty much confirmed that she's not emotionally ready to trust someone again...yet.
/r/seduction10/09/12 06:35 AM

I think you're right, it started out as a non-date for defensive reasons. I managed to convert it into a date, which is what she really wanted.

Excellent advice for next time. Disclosure is a fine line. You don't want to kill attraction over opinions that are fluid or represent some other feeling. The brother and "not doing relationships" could both be shit tests (likely), or they could just be how she's feeling now (maybe), or they could represent some permanent decision she's made (unlikely). In this case, I think they were a mix of #1 and #2 because her tune changed when she showed up alone (see update). I could tell she really did w…

I appreciate the help. That's basically what I've been doing, so it sounds like the search is just taking longer than I want it to. In the mean time, there are plenty of nice/fun people to be around and things to do.

Haha maybe nothing. Somewhere along the way it crosses from artistic expression to "I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me with all of this".

Heh, that's solid. Yeah maybe I'm too concerned about long-term. Multiple women have told me that a guy who takes care of his kids is incredibly attractive. It just becomes more of a logistics problem when they start considering the long term.

Question... was she cool with you being nervous and underperforming? In my experience women have always been really cool about it. Especially if I take it as a joke too. For example, maybe I'll point down and say "he can't drink as much as I can" or something like that :)

Just doing some quick math here... Did you mean that you f-close 1 out of 20 nights you go out by using this opener? Assuming even 10 approaches per night that's like a 0.5% success rate per approach. I had not imagined an f-close was a 200:1 ratio, but that's eye-opening.
/r/seduction30/07/11 02:20 AM

Weird question, but I've always wondered when people say they go out every night: what does that cost you per night?

Just to echo some other comments in a more constructive way, I see this first as an inner game issue. As you said, we do not know you. But that's a point you could use to your advantage. I'm a stranger and I'm turned off because you sound entitled with a thin veneer. It doesn't even matter whether it's true. It's the vibe you're giving. You can tell us we're all wrong but I don't see how that ends in any closes :) Did you realize you were turning people off in this thread? If you're being honest…

Do you mean 29 recurring lays with one person would be more impressive than 29 one-shots? If so, I'm a LOT better at seddit than I thought I was! I have no problem at all with repeat business... :)

I disagree that the 6-12 month "do no wrong" period applies to everyone. Maybe when I was younger. Now that I'm older/jaded/aware/experienced/enlightened, I am acutely on the lookout for things that I know will add up to dealbreakers later.

I once re-connected with a set and they said "uhh...this is a private conversation" :0 In hindsight, you only get told that if you are already blown out. I just didn't know it. A lot went wrong that weekend, come to think of it :) I'm probably burned with most of those people, but I took away some important lessons which have helped other interactions go more smoothly. Do you feel like there's no lesson anymore? Or is there something you can take away and not do next time so the rejection is the…

I have a couple ideas: You're venting in your post. Do you take that attitude to the club/bar with you? Showing up is 90% right? Just being in the proximity of sets is not showing up though. To really show up, you need to open them and see where it goes. It sounds like you get pretty nervous and outcome dependent before you approach. Do you feel this way about every single girl? If there are any girls that don't make you feel nervous to touch them, start with those and see how it plays. Not havi…

This sounds very, very truthful. Someone was just asking yesterday why we should believe all the FR's :)

Are we defining date differently? You can go on a date with someone you just met if it's a blind date or if you bar-hop and call it a date. Otherwise you would have met them already somehow. A date is meeting that the two of you schedule on purpose to further explore a relationship. So if I'm on a date and it goes well, I would be frustrated by spending an evening and not making any physical progress. I would take it as a sign that it didn't go well at all and there wouldn't likely be a second d…

I like your points. The FR's may be inaccurate The FR is filtered through the lens of the OP's imagination, but so is every experience one person relates to another. None of us were there. FR's are okay with me unless they're deliberately false. In that case I'm not sure what's in it for the OP since he knows any praise he gets is based on a lie. Beginners are hard to watch This is true, but we know the pain/frustration of the alternative too. You don't assume someone is an operator or "master" …

This may just be me but as I get older and see physical beauty fade, I become less impressed by people like this girl. She looks like she might be a good lay, but what else? Of all the people in the world, why does she deserve my attention? Clearly she wants the attention but that alone doesn't make a case for me anymore. :)

Yep, that's it right there. Great point.

This. The more creative/thinking you are, the easier it is to come up with other stuff to do with your time than socialize. Smart people stay home? Is that all there is to it?
/r/seduction30/12/10 10:20 PM
2

I can relate to this too. I think I'd be a lot better at socializing if the juice was worth the squeeze. The fact is, I have to get really creative in your thinking in order to find a connection with someone. My game is significantly weakened by not being able to find redeeming value in people, so I practice that a lot. From that Win Friends & Influence People book, I got the idea to really seek out the beauty/talent in people and genuinely appreciate them. Seems to be working a little...

Pull a role reversal. Next time you go through the drive thru, hand her lunch from a different restaurant like Taco Bell. Buy yourself some time by saying you wanted a diet coke instead of regular, and in all the commotion you can probably get her to put her number in your phone. If it feels right, tell her to put her number in so you can grab lunch for both of you next time.

This might be a case where leading by example is the only answer. Asking the beginners not to act like beginners doesn't seem like it will ever change things. It might slowly improve seddiquette if more experienced sedditors would translate someone's specific question into the general case and then show how the theory applies. It does put an extra burden on the people who are already helping most, but I think it stands a better chance of turning the "help me" posts into something that adds to th…

This is a really great idea, and thanks for taking the time to sift these out. First impression after watching all the videos: not sure what I'm watching. What are the objectives? A #-close, an f-close, LTR, etc? It's hard to tell if the videos worked without knowing the goal. They certainly show how to build rapport and maybe a #-close, but I wonder if it led anywhere. As the target I'd really be distracted by how superficial the dialog is and would not trust that these PUAs had my best interes…

Do you believe/understand that the net result of the community is personal improvement and not manipulation? My sense, especially outside this subreddit, is that PUA is looked upon negatively. But the deeper I get into it, the more I realize that peoples' impressions of me are a direct result of my own actions. I see these techniques as scaffolding for building a better, more honest presentation of me. The better I get at packaging and presenting my honesty, the better my results are. Not just w…

Yeah it is kind of an ultimate rejection. I mean they lay out a lot of information about their situation asymmetrically. Then you reject them. Let's assume I can get her to show up to something socially. I wonder if I could be playful about it, something along the lines of offering to reverse the roles so she can "reject" me to even things out.
/r/seduction06/12/10 11:44 PM

Yeah, I also have to comment that I lost my marriage already over this kind of issue. I'm glad that you were able to find the support you needed before it was too late! It really is about how you think. Even though she's my ex wife now, in many ways our relationship has improved beyond what it ever was for us because of the changes in thinking I've made. And as soon as I slack off, we regress back into old patterns. It's so obvious now.

Any wording is fine, she's smart. I think you might still be too invested in her reaction. Don't worry about trying to control that part. Say what you need to say and be awesome regardless of how it turns out. I know it's counter-intuitive, but it's the only way :)

Yeah, I didn't want to get too long-winded but I feel the same way about wishing I had known this earlier in life. I'm in my mid 30's now and lord only knows why it seems so simple now but didn't before. In my teens and 20's I just couldn't wrap my head around the idea that I needed to define myself and what I was about before other people would like me. But that's how it works. This is true in both life and business: our existence is confusing, and thus people are searching for boundaries and e…

You're too invested in her answer. Get your head to a place where you really believe that your life will go on and be great either way. Then, if she's not interested when you tell her the news, it just kind of rolls off both of you and doesn't come up again. You might even pitch it as, "Hey, I like our friendship enough to go further. I won't bring it up again, but if you decide you feel the same, I'm in!" And the best part is, she probably WILL be interested if you have that much confidence abo…
