I watch and listen to true crime frequently, but I have not heard of this story. I would love to hear about it in a podcast type format.

Thank you for saying all that you said. It's beautiful. It rings so true for me because the worst and first abuser of my life was lowest of LVM, my father.

I don't know if he was homeless, but he was very disheveled looking and mentally unstable. He was at least 15-20 years older than me at the time as well. I was reading my book when he came up to me to ask me about my day. There were other people around us and I was really into the book I was reading, so I didn't pay him any attention as I didn't realize he was speaking to me. He went from 0 to 100 before I had even fully processed what had happened. He was yelling at me and calling me racist bec…

Dealt with this realization pretty recently and it hurts. But it's important to put myself first instead of being in relationships where I'm not respected or appreciated.

I have an admittedly horrible memory. Though I cannot remember specifics from conversations or situations sometimes, I often remember very well how it made me feel. After being gaslit my whole life by my abusive father, it's really shitty when exes have used my horrible memory against me, but what woman doesn't love having her experiences invalidated or trivialized by the person making things worse for her? /s

He won’t change- not because you aren’t good enough, but because he isn’t good. Thank you for this! I went through a hard lesson relating to this not too long ago and I really could have used this, but I am still so glad to have found it. Your words are truth and thank you for sharing them. There's a reason we dump men at the first sign of him being inconsiderate. It's for our safety. I think there are plenty of other good reasons, too, but safety is certainly the priority. I'm sure there are many different analogies that you could use in this scenario, but the one I thought of was more specific to emotional manipulation as that is how an ex used to treat me. Instead of using physical violence, he'd just ask for a "smaller" sexual favor and frame it as easier and less involved. So instead of asking for the full $10, he'd be only asking for $5. So sick. Really hate having the memories creep up, but it's also good to see how far I've progress. Thanks for sharing the …

I've only dated gamer LVM (I'm going to change that!). Not only is gaming not cheap, but it's also time consuming as many other posters have mentioned. In addition, I've heard it used as a good alternative to bad weather and/or when "there's nothing else to do." More BS. LVM have small minds. HVM are creative and think outside the box when it comes to things you can do. There are plenty of things to do indoors during cold weather if you are creative. Also if money is the issue or there truly is …

I can see how a therapist from a different culture could be a jarring experience for something emotionally venerable as a therapy especially the way you perceived your former therapist. How are you supposed to feel comfortable/open up if the person who's supposed to be helping you has a cold affect (regardless of culture)? Thanks a lot for the book recs; all look good especially the last one. You've been so very helpful!! I can't thank you enough!

Wow, thanks so much for a very detailed answer! Exactly what I was hoping to hear. Your story is very inspiring especially the part where you were able to help a friend. I know there's a lot of stigma against mental health and getting help for it, but I for one am glad that you were able to get the help you needed. That reminds me when my sisters and I were 10-15, we were on the beach and some man wanted pictures of us. One of my sisters is conventionally very pretty, but I was always protective of my sister. I am the eldest and I had my gut telling me that this was wrong, even though I couldn't explain/understand why. I told him no, but he kept asking and I kept saying no, which is a lot for a timid 15 year old. He eventually went away without a picture and I watched him for bit, but I don't doubt that he…

In addition, the "learning" bit seems a bit off and strikes me as odd. What if you just want to to appreciate an SO's skills and don't want to learn how to do it? You're not obligated to learn something. Then to follow all of that up with a completely normal/appropriate question might have some women questioning their instincts.

Apparently because we have standards, we are hateful against people who don't align with how we'd like to be treated by our SOs??? Typing that doesn't make sense, but that's what I think goes through those kind of people's head about FDS. Ugh being into “femdom” or “female led relationships” is the new way men now frame having the women do 100% of the emotional, sexual and financial work while framing it as “her leading.” Yes, it's perceived female dominance, but the perception is false.

I'm not entirely certain, maybe "mental (work) load"? It was over 10 years ago, but he described it to a T as did the research. There were at least 1-2 psychologists whose specialty was the study of male/female work/life balance and we studied their results and implications specifically, but I can't recall any names sadly. I first learned about this at my university as I was a psychology major. In my psychology of happiness class, my male professor did a short unit on the differences in happiness between single/married men/women. I've only dated "nerds." Two of them were actually quite well-versed in something intellectual, but all of them have had video gaming addictions. As for the two intellectual nerds, they came off extremely r/ iamverysmart, which is the opposite of attractive. They could talk for hours about their interests, but showed little to no interest for any of my nerdy passions.

With the men with whom you made the first move with, was the breakup due to the fact you had to make the first move? I assume that by making the first move, you eventually found out that they weren't really committed/interested toward/in you as you were them. Correct me if I'm wrong!

I wish I did too. My mom is a pickmeisha through and through and a complete enabler of abuse. I'm glad there are women like OP's mom to live by example. So sorry for your loss, OP.

He compares women to toys... they're not even sentient beings to him because I'd wager he completely lacks empathy.

I started going through her Twitter and I also found this banger from another LVM. https://twitter.com/Clairejs4/status/1243403368736763904/photo/1

As someone who was abused for years, I can tell this guy really doesn't get it that nobody is attracted to your victim complex (unless they're an abuser themselves). The only way to get over trauma is therapy, finding something that makes life worth living, and to stop living in the past. Nudes will not help you heal. Goddamn LV fuckbois.

Me too! I like having standards and solidarity.

These men enjoy the social status of being married, a family man, having kids they can talk about, having a wife to cook and clean and have sex with but they don’t LIKE their wife. That's so sad. And pathetic.

I need to drop a "are you me?" comment because damn, that's me to a T. Here's to finding better men, for the both of us. And hell, if we can't find better men, then let's just be single because that's way better than being miserable and settling.

I'm three lines into his apology and honestly, fuck him. Apology letters like that make the sender even more selfish especially in this situation. The letter is to absolve himself of guilt and in no way serves as an actual apology.

Bullet, you've been DODGED. It's such a good pseudo name, given the situation.

Lmao I was gonna say, I don't really like taking dating advice from a man...

I had an LVM ex who started balding at 21. The balding honestly wasn't the worst thing about him, though.

I feel like often times, the process of gaining wisdom comes from a dark, miserable, lonely place, unfortunately. I think that's kind of where the saying "learning the hard way" comes from.

You're one hell of a woman. I'm so so sorry for all that you've been through, but I really appreciate you sharing your wisdom.

I was kind of thinking the same thing, but I feel like there is room for some exceptions with these sorts of things. I'd understand why and accept if this particular quote made someone feel like they're being reduced to an object.

It's okay. Mistakes are part of life. At least you know you won't make that mistake ever again. You deserve better.

My mom is a horrible role model when it comes to just about anything. My father was abusive and she could never completely leave him even when I was old enough to tell her she deserved better.

“I bottom out in a Pringle’s can” That's one of the unsexiest things I've ever heard. Disappointing, yes, but also horrifying. I don't want any man that big!

I'm very new to FDS, but can a man be considered high value if he isn't ready to commit?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 04:39 AM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
