This is my ex wife

I’d like to say punch her in the face for ruining my life, my relationship with my son (we are happy now, but I’m thinking 4 weeks in) my finances, and my mental health, however, since that’s not allowed, I head to the gym 👍 Good luck buddy

I understand this brother, and my ex is the same. Sometimes I know the little guy doesn’t want to talk, and I hear my ex prompting him in the background “say this, say that”, to which I tell him “you can say whatever you feel, buddy”. He’s still so small (only 3) and doesn’t get it, but yeah, I just really miss him, and want him to be able to call when HE wants to call. Opposite side, my ex will blow me up by text if I don’t have him calling at 730 sharp Friday and Saturday.

Bro this chick sounds like a BPD special.. check out r/bpdlovedones. They take and take, play the victim card to perfection, point to you as the problem, and convince themselves that they are always right, in every situation. I’m speculating, but if she is BPD, this will be the worst year of your life. Good luck bud, I understand you missing your children and wanting the best for them…. Hope you get the chance to see your kids, without her in the picture.

Good luck, I’m there if you need👍

This is an impossible pain to deal with. Brother I have been there, and am still going through it…. Together for 10 years, married for 5, 1 child together. She went into devalue mode quickly, it i couldn’t see it, because I always thought, as you did, that I was the problem. It’s not us, we are trying our best to help and make them feel safe. It’s time to focus on you, on your health, on your life. I won’t lie to you man, it’s hard and gets harder. But as the days have turned into months, it has…

I can’t stand that nonsense. My ex believes she is literally God’s gift to my son.. the other day at drop off she accuse me of giving my 3 year old adult Benadryl, because the kid fell asleep in the car. You know I can read right? It says CHILDRENS on the bottle! It also says « may cause drowsiness »! So I figure, this whole game the play to make out like they are so much better off, and so much more intelligent.. of course everything by text so that even the lawyers think I’m an idiot😳 Point be…

I feel like in not too long, you will start feeling the wrath of women her starting to throw some metoo at this post🙄.... I agree... they’re all the same.

Unfortunately agree, but hope it stays. This bud was the only thing I had when my wife left me out if nowhere a little over a month ago, I’d hate to see it shut down or trolled. Geez we can’t even have a forum to talk shit out anymore!! Without pushing the envelope too much, but shit, these broads can do what they want to us, destroy our lives and families, and we get persecuted for VENTING!! Keep in keeping on brothers, we’re strong and will all get through it together.... for the time being an…

Man, I struggling to get through the day, then struggling to fall asleep, then struggling to wake up. She’s living then”proverbial” dream with my son at her dads, not a care in the world, living off the gov and daddy. Hard to see the “light” right now. Thanks for the post.

Thanks Ashley, kindve good to get a female perspective... this shit is hard, and this sucks. The lies, the bullshit, the straight up lack of concern for 10 years!! WTF

Thanks Ashley, I have a lawyer for the sole reason that this woman fucking pushes every single one of my bottoms, and knows how to do it...

You said it wartime, easier said than done... we have to play the long game, cuz our kids depend on it, and depend on us. Especially when the instability is so intense on the other side

It most definitely seems that way... last few weeks that I’ve been stopping to pick up my son, her father has been standing between us as if I’m some sort of abuser??? I’ve never laid a hand on this woman... she has literally given me some solid beat downs while over drinking (understand I’m 6’0 200 lbs, she’s 5’4 130 soaking wet, so absolutely no damage), but it’s the perception, and it rocks me to my core. I can’t even stand the sight of him at this point. She calls my friends and says “don’t …

Right, her parents are separated. she chose to go live with her dad for the sole reason that he will give her anything that she wants.. some guilty conscience from way back when🙄 it’s been nice to not walk on eggshells, constantly concerned that she will come into the living room screaming at us that the tv is too loud, or we are laughing to loud for her to sleep, at 2 in the afternoon🙄🤔
/r/Divorce_Men25/04/21 05:06 PM

Yeah jagged, I’m trying to distance myself as much as possible.. I’m at a point right now that I’m realizing if her family buys into the bullshit, then so be it. I do think that she will implode, although I hope that’s not the case as she does have my son. If her “support system” (dad) can sit there constantly with her and nurse her back to health, then it is what it is. I guess I should’ve removed myself from my job for a year or two so that I could take care of the princess in her times of men…

How can the people you had fun with, are and drank with, told problems to and listened to their problems, just turn around and actually BELIEVE the nonsense coming out of her mouth?? Shows you who is actually in your corner at the end of the day, and who actually cares.

I truly appreciate it, and I did stay as long as I did not only for my son (big part), but thinking that things would get better. The good times were so good, it the bad times were violent, volatile, just crazy.... she cut everyone out of her life for the past 10 years, all while I was trying to get her to reconnect with her family, and now she is saying I am the cause of her distance from them.... just bonkers. I’ll look into the YouTube suggestion right away, as I’m struggling pretty bad with …

I’m in Canada, I assume that it must be similar.. I am just so concerned that I’ll lose my shirt in this whole process, and she is sitting pretty with dad not paying a dime. Hindsight would’ve worked great here🙄

Thanks Buddy, much appreciated. I’m trying to distract myself, even thought that I was past this and moving on quickly!! I really can’t stand her, and the thought of her sitting around doing jack shit in her dads hot tub without a care in the world fucking burns me up. My lawyer is on vacation for two weeks🙄but at least I have my 2nd therapy session this evening..

Thank you, it really means something, and helps for perspective. It hurts so much to know that she is getting taken care of at her dads, and my son is non e the wiser to what the situation is. I feel like she’s stepped into a reality where she doesn’t have to deal with the pain, as her dad is not working, and she is on disability, most likely won’t be working until next year. I have to continue doing the everyday, taking care of family, home, bills, life, and she doesn’t even have to take a minu…

I’m no more than a month in, and I can understand what you’re going through. My ex and I were literally hugging on the couch one day, and the next she was gone with my son, moved out of the province to her fathers. We spoke every morning for 10 years on my drive in to work, I rushed home after to see her, my heart feels like it is in pieces. One month in, when I exchange for my son (2.5), he is confused, doesn’t want to see mom, I can’t look at her, and she doesn’t speak to me. How did we get to…

Needed to hear this... I’m one month in, feel great one day, and just terrible the next. Trying to stay away from booze (I don’t drink during the week), but it’s tough cuz I miss my son, and although my wife was just terrible to me and my kids from a previous marriage, I miss her too. Thanks for the feel good brother, gives me hope for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Whoa.... professional victim disorder... this is my stbx to a tee!!! Any mention of the getting people to buy into their victim nonsense??
/r/Divorce_Men10/04/21 01:00 AM

It really was the best case scenario. I was so scared of her leaving, I would’ve done anything to keep her here... and she took advantage of it all. The split personality is what scares me... the big beautiful smile in front of everyone, the victim in front of everyone, it’s everyone else’s fault for her being in the position that she is, but so vicious and mean to the kids and I.. literal craziness
/r/Divorce_Men09/04/21 02:05 PM

Not yet, we are separated for two weeks, but I’ve been living this nightmare for 10 years... she ostracized my family so that we can only focus on hers, and I was so blinded by my perceived love, I literally let her treat me and my kids like garbage that whole time.

Sending documents, that type of stuff. I haven’t had a chance to speak with the lawyer, so I don’t know if it’s in my best interest. I’ll wait to get the okay from him before I start sending paperwork for things that are in my name and I own.

There were numerous diagnoses, many different levels of meds. Most recently when she left, she had decided to stop taking her medication (on the advice of a YouTube doctor), because it turns out she wasn’t actually sick(thanks YouTube doc)! The meds were always good, until she had some side effect or whatever reason came up to stop them. The more I look back at the 10 years, the happier I am that she left! She carpet bombed the family with her mental struggles, and it’s peaceful now.

Yeah the struggle is real brother.. I had surgery today, she played me like a fool, pretending to give a shit, then asked me to help her get an address change... I swear I almost fell for it. I have my first therapist appointment tomorrow evening, and I’ll be lawyering up by Monday the latest. From now on, all communication is through him, I’m staying in the bleachers.

Really???? I’ve been thinking the exact thoughts that you just wrote, do best for my son and family. I tried mediation today, it went to shit. My stbx of 10 years (1 week separated) called me mr. “Insert last name”, I felt ridiculed and was literally shaking. It didn’t last 10 minutes. This was the first post in my feed as I opened it. I think it’s a sign....

What I mean is that she is telling her father and mother (separated) terrible things about me, and they are just buying into it. I can understand the inclination to “protect your own”, but I know these people and loved them, so it is hard to get that they would see me in this terrible light.

I really appreciate this. I’ve been having trouble sleeping, and need to get these things out of my head... I basically cut everyone out of my life (besides mom, sis, auntie) because she didn’t approve. I was so blind to what was going on around me, and now feel alone. Thank god for my 3 oldest kids from a previous relationship (all of whom she treated like garbage) they keep me grounded, but the nights are hard, which makes the morning almost impossible. I’m worried about my job (I deal with so…

Cmon man, I’m feeling really down in the dumps right now also, and have been emasculated by an extremely controlling, and mentally unstable wife for 10 years. Think of your kids, of family and friends. It always gets better. Shit I get it, and I know that light is hard to see, and it doesn’t feel like it, but if it’s terrible now, it can only go up. All the best my friend.

I don’t want to shit on my stbx, or ladies in general, as I’m sure there are just as many douchebags out there.. but it’s really tough to fathom how they can up and leave at the drop of a hat, and totally disconnect. Meanwhile, leaving the others entire life messed up. At least I’m posting, enjoying a big glass of water, relaxing and watching a movie. Like you said brother, it’s when the lights are off, and things are quiet.. that’s when the mind starts to turn and the loneliness really hits. Al…

I’m being very cautious in all honesty. I know this lady well, and am fully aware of her mental issues, and have seen the volatility and hostility first hand. Unfortunately for my kids, I turned a blind eye because I truly thought I loved her so much, and we were meant to be together..... blind love is the saying I believe?
/r/Divorce_Men01/04/21 12:18 AM

Funny enough, the night before she left, she literally told me that she “tells everyone that I’m a drunk, but that she realizes that she is the drunk”! I told her, “I get it babe, you have to make me look bad to your father”! Bizarro land! Oh and for the record Reddit crew, under normal circumstances, I tend to keep my drinking to the weekends, or a good Monday Night Football game😉

She is with her father, so there shouldn’t be too much trouble, as he will naturally make sure that she and my son are comfortable. I don’t plan on making any moves until after Easter, because selfishly I miss him so much and I wouldn’t want to jeopardize seeing him. She did promise (by text) that I’d get him on Sunday and Monday, so I will hang tight and play my hand appropriately.

Good for you, my stbx wife moved out, changed her address and took my son out of the province, without even telling me, all things that clearly show she is unstable. It is taking everything for me to just keep my damn mouth shut, and try to be the bigger person. Fortunately for me, she is ghosting me, so not responding is easier.... I guess what I’m saying is just let them dig their own graves, no matter how much it hurts.
/r/Divorce_Men31/03/21 01:33 PM
2

Well turns out you were unfortunately right. I reached out this morning to discuss mediation, and by the end of the day she had pulled him out of daycare, and switched her address to another province. Lawyer says this looks bad on her, as no lawyer would advise their client to do what she is doing. I’m just hoping to see my son for Easter. Going to have to settle in for the long haul.
/r/Divorce_Men29/03/21 11:23 PM

Please don’t give up on your kids. You’re hurting and it shows, but this decision is something that will haunt you forever. All the best
/r/Divorce_Men29/03/21 06:07 PM

I get that... I’m also not trying to get her back. I’m concerned for the well being of my son that has been getting dragged through the ringer of mental health issues. I’m not trying to make her look bad, I actually love her dearly. My concern is for my son.
/r/Divorce_Men29/03/21 12:37 PM

It is what it is... still, drinking too much this weekend (not beating myself up for that one) and not being able to sleep is killing me with anxiety, going to try and get my head back in the game for the long haul moving forward.

I guess I never took the comment of “getting a divorce” as a joke, just always thought we were so much stronger than that.
/r/Divorce_Men29/03/21 10:08 AM

I’ve tried to speak with her family. They are convinced that she is a victim of terrible circumstances, and that I, and my kids from a previous marriage are the cause of her mental anguish... I’ve always had a good relationship with her folks, man I feel like I’m on crazy pills. I’ll be having my first lawyer meeting tomorrow, and will take it from there.
