I have pretty strong negative feelings about Roissy/Roosh - mainly because I feel like reading them really hindered me more than helped me in a lot of cases when I was starting out in seduction. Yes, if you can filter out the bullshit they have some clever posts every once in a while, but It's really hard to do that as a beginner. I felt like I had to adopt this negative, heartless attitude in order to succeed, something which I now realize is almost entirely BS. I mean, they're pretty goddamn v…

Direct game isn't inherently creepy at all, it's just honest. You're just saying "Hey, I think you're cute, so lets have a conversation." My guess is your pal read up on some basic seduction / neg theory and is throwing his rulebook at you without much in-field experience to back it up. If it works for you, keep doing it. Validation-wise, a lot of it depends on delivery - you can say "You're cute" one way and have it come off as validational/sucking up to her, and you can say the same words anot…

Possible reasons: 1) YOU. You pushed him to go out there and talk to girls and showed him that it was socially acceptable. A lot of dudes don't have anyone who is supportive of this activity, most guys just have friends who will give them shit if they fail, which makes them way more uncomfortable doing it. You're also able to impart a lot of knowledge to him. 2) He just had some "in state" nights. There are some nights i'm just ON FIRE, had those nights even before I started learning seduction. …

I've talked to girls about this, and some girls find that there's kind of a category of guys are kind of "ugly hot". Like traditionally not good looking, but in such a way that works for them. Maybe he fits in that.

Hits the nail on the head. Asking for the phone number is more difficult/unnatural when you've spent an hour or two talking to a girl but haven't been flirty enough or made it clear that you're actually interested in her sexually.

Yep. This is my normal course of action when I first meet a girl - my issue is simply getting lazy and feeling like i've got it "in the bag" so to speak (in both cases both girls had just told me they really liked me), so I hang around for what I feel is the sure thing. Definitely not gonna let her waste my time next time.

Pretty much true - I mean, there's a limit to this (which differs with every girl), but I think most of us have encountered guys who have nothing in their lives together but still do great with women. Also, it's definitely not true that girls only date these guys for ONS or flings. It's remarkable how late in a relationship it matters that a guy be some sort of "good provider". I personally, though, wouldn't be happy if I didn't have my shit together, which would hurt my game...I think a lot of …

Not a giant fan of Roosh, but pickup is kinda "to each his own" in terms of what works. But good god i'm jealous that you're learning pickup in high school, what an awesome time to get started.

Agreed, i've totally observed that about Kino - I told a few girls about some of my go-to dates. A lot think the whole "Dinner and a movie" thing is still a valid date idea - I tell them I like to play pool so I can touch the girl and be playful, and they universally have said "Why do you need to be able to touch her?".

People are people - I think the perception that you can't meet a normal woman at a bar isn't due to there not being "relationship-type" women there, but because girls tend to be in a crazier/sluttier mood at bars. Your connection seems "faker" in her mind (the next day) because you probably both had drinks. Whereas if you met her through a social circle or a common activity, your connection is based on something more real which can lead to a stronger foundation. That being said, social circle ga…

Clubs are something you have to get used to. They're meant to be overstimulating. I used to HATE clubs like crazy and was almost scared to go in them. It's like a foreign country where I didn't really know the rules and there was just so much going on. As you get used to them and loosen up, it gets better. I still don't really like them a lot, because (like you said), they often are very appearance oriented and I don't have the greatest looks going for me. But i'm at least comfortable in the clu…

Based on what you've already accomplished, I have a feeling you're gonna be fine. Bartending is an amazing position to be in when you're trying to meet girls - you instantly have a high status position where you're working. Rock climbing girls are hot as hell, there's often easy ways to meet them at whatever gym you go to (though they may have trouble catching you @ 320lbs, haha). The bad news is that none of us can really tell you which EXACT direction to go and which exact materials to researc…

It sounds like your issues reach a little bit deeper than seduction. Lots of great responses here so far. Take my advice with a grain of salt, I don't know if my issues reached as deeply as yours. My one thing to add is that it sounds like you're jumping into what I find is one of the hardest places for someone starting out - the club. They took a lot of getting used to for me, if you're not used to them they are like sensory overload for someone who isn't very social. The best advice I can give…

Well, friends are a huge asset in pickup so i'd consider focusing on that for a while if you can. I don't think it's a must-have or anything, to each his own, but I know things got a lot better for me after I moved when I focused on making friends instead of just meeting women. Few reasons: Social Proof It's easier to get into a social mood when you can call up a buddy on the phone A good wingman can help your game tremendously You do interesting things more often and have more interesting stori…

Her physical shock at you escalating too quickly isn't a "shit test". A "shit test" is when she intentionally tries to ruffle your feathers, not because she's uncomfortable, but because she wants to make sure you handle yourself well. In this case she was just uncomfortable and stiffened. Apologizing was your major mistake, IMO - taking your arm away or backing down to a less personal level of kino (her arm, for instance) would not have been a mistake at all, in my opinion.

4th of july #1? I've seriously never even would put it in the running, but I don't think i've ever actually been out to the bar on July 4th. For me Halloween HAS to be #1, though. I don't think there exists an easier night to get laid. Agree on NYE - it's almost always a clusterfuck for a million reasons (logistics, drunk people, everyone wants it to be "special" and gets uptight when things don't go as planned).

I think the bottom line is that you're oversimplifying a lot of concepts here. Alpha/beta dichotomy, evolution, etc. don't work in the simplified manner that you're thinking. There's a lot of random variation, upbringing matters, but so do genes on some level. Alpha/Beta is also VERY subjective and local. The top starcraft players in Korea get women like crazy, for instance. Lots of social constructs at play...for instance, strong eye contact is something that could get your ass kicked or creep …

This is a standard approach a lot of guys use that, yes, is fundamentally flawed. I mean, you just described the proccess for most guys who get friend zoned. It's not that it can never happen where a friendship can turn into something more - but it's not reliable tactic AT ALL. You gotta embrace your sexuality - Kino is like a cheat code for this, because it immediately makes you into a sexual being in her eyes. Once you hit a certain level of it (not just touching her wrist/arm), she'll start t…

You (like everyone else who posts about this) have just anecdotal evidence and you're selling it as a wonder cure. The reason you're probably getting downvoted is that most of us have tried it and had "meh" results at best. There's much better things to worry about that will have a larger impact on your game.

She was probably just not interested. Million of potential reasons why. The classroom has it's own upsides and downsides when it comes to picking up girls (mostly downsides, IMO, but it's been a while since I was in college). Most people are in a fairly serious and focused mood when they're in class, it's not always an environment that's great for hardcore joking/kino/seduction. Maybe she'd be in a better or more social mood another day.

"I am not a typically flirtatious person by nature, often coming off as being quite serious." That's the problem right there - you have to let loose a little. If you look positive and like you're having fun, people will approach you a lot more. When they actually start talking to you - smile, eye contact, compliments, and laugh at his jokes. That's most of what you need to get started. You also have to out yourself around the type of people you want to meet - find the bars in town with your "typ…

Body language is a hard problem for me, actually. When you're really not feeling "open", it's tough to feel comfortable and force "open" body language. I find myself continually switching back to a "closed" state if i'm not feeling it. That being said, it's kind of a feedback loop...the more you do it, the better you'll feel. It's like if you force a smile it can trick you into feeling happier. "Fake it til you make it" works for body language as well, basically. THAT being said, I think that id…

I like it a lot, actually, gives you a strong qualifying frame. I often use the phrase "Ooh you get points for that" just to challenge her, so it seems a good way to extend that frame. Like most things it'll come off weird if you're not in state and don't have a proper joking/qualifying frame established with her, though. It has to be pretty tongue in cheek, otherwise you could definitely get a "who does this guy think he is?" reaction. Like with most qualifying you don't want to come off as bra…

I can't really tell since i've only gotten into game the past few years. I have to imagine the most important inner game stuff is all pretty much the same. State control, keeping your frame, etc. Different areas also seem to have different cultures when it comes to pickup. I've never seen anyone run a routine on anyone in my town, i'm pretty much the only guy I know who goes out and does anything i've seen on seduction communities. I could safely use really old material all over the place. TONS …

Alcohol. She wasn't trusting her own judgement. Her friends pressuring her and you to get together made things awkward for her. It's like when a girl sleeps with you on the first date but doesn't want to meet up again, because she's embarrassed. Same idea here, I imagine, because her friends were making fun of her. Being with another guy (and not wanting to piss him off) also added to it. My guess is she was attracted to you, though, but the embarrassment and other social factors prevented her f…

Personally I don't have a problem with it as long as i'm drunk too and things just naturally happen. Obviously it's wrong to willfully take advantage of someone in that state or put undue pressure on her. Use your judgement - plenty of times it's just good old drunken fun. No reason to drop parties entirely and go to day game for everything, there are plenty of girls who go out and have 1-2 drinks just to get a good buzz but still can exercise good judgement.

Sounds like you're learning from the experience, so it's all good. You might feel shitty now, but you have to get there somehow. Quickest way is to just jump in and not let the rejection get you down - easier said than done, I know. I understand the hometown thing - I don't go out in my hometown either. I doubt it's because of my actual hometown but more the history I have with it. Thing is, if it's impossible for you to be positive when you're going out, I would just stay in. There's a lot said…

My story (some specifics are omitted): I'd been building a large social circle in my town for a while - really focusing on getting out there and meeting people (not just cute women) for a while. I was part of a volunteer group that was holding a giant event for charity, and I got almost everyone I knew in town to go. On the downside, or so I thought, there were a couple girls coming who I had some history with. I had screwed up massively with #1 (got drunk and hit on her excessively) and the #2 …

Lots wrong here other people have covered. I mean, seriously, you let your state get rattled by middle/high schoolers? Ignore them and move on, who gives a crap. My guess is it was pretty obvious you were out to hit on women and were therefore acting pretty oddly. Malls aren't bars, people don't go there to get hit on and it is weird for someone not in middle or high school to go there to hang out. If you want to hit on someone at a mall, you should at least have a pretense (real or manufactured…

Compliments are an easy way - don't obviously be sucking up but giving someone a genuine compliment about something brings the energy up. Jokes and fun stories are another way. Tell a fun story about something crazy that happened to you. Go around and make sure people are having a good time, just try to bring people up.

Normally i'd disagree with you but for college parties this is almost a prerequisite as you don't want to be the guy dragging the energy level down.

There's nothing wrong with bouncing from a party if it sucks. When I first moved to my town (college town) I was living with a students, and I got invited to his parties. I never really had a good time at their parties, though - bad gender ratio, people spent forever talking about their classes and stuff they had in common, etc. You start at a disadvantage since you're not part of the circle. Many times the parties were much higher energy than I wanted, too - not that I can't be high energy, but…
