I agree with you. 3 months salary is absolutely reckless for most people. For my husband 3 months salary would be the equivalent of a new car, or three years’ worth of really nice vacations. So you could see three continents, or have a ring that most people won’t think twice about and would ‘see’ the same way they see a moissanite ring. For a lot of couples, 3 months salary should be used on a proper emergency fund or their IRAs before they start blowing it all on jewelry.

We spent under $1,000 on my moissanite engagement ring + my band + his ring. I love the look, durability, and value you get for your money with moissanite!!

Three months is not long enough to essentially move in under these circumstances.

If that’s true, I apologize. Your tone and word choices didn’t come across as sincere in text. It’s not a ‘ruse’. I will voice my concerns again if it comes up. There is an appropriate time and way to do this, and “unloading every fear on him and shitting all over his brainstorming ways to solve the problem as soon as he comes home from a horrible day” was not the right thing to do— but it’s exactly what happened.

He’s definitely not doing anything concrete without talking to a lawyer and our financial advisor. :P But we’re definitely going to need some Ramsey-esque advice to deal with the rest of his mom’s situation. Good reminder!!! Thanks!!

A good man, who is worthy of being your leader, would be looking for a woman who respects herself enough not to ‘orbit’ him without reciprocity. He wouldn’t be spending his attention on ‘orbiters’. He would not lead you on— but part of this is on you, too. You gotta take the hint, have some self-respect, and move on. An unworthy man would give you only just enough attention to keep getting what he wants from you without a real commitment— sex, attention on-demand, whatever.

It’s not ‘selfish’ to cut off someone who is willing to let you “””””””beta orbit”””””” them. It’s the only correct move. Teaandtalk is 100% correct. You can keep putting your mental energy into someone like this and deluding yourself that you’re “disciplining yourself” by being around them and not “orbiting” them— but sorry, you’re still spending your mental energy on them. Whether it’s due to an actual relationship with them or not. You seem to think RPW will find the idea of doing mental jiu-…

I don’t know if this is really what you meant, but “Learned helplessness” is an excuse teachers use to refer to school-aged children, not a term for a grown woman to use to describe herself. How are you not ashamed to admit that “At the age of 28, I have pretended not to know how to solve my problems long enough that someone else comes and fixes it for me”? You describe your boyfriend as being annoyed that he had to clean up your black ring of tub scum. Why was it even left there long enough for…

It beggars belief to think this could possibly be borne of ignorance. He would have to be the most obtuse person on Earth. He doesn’t have to be cartoonishly evil and twirling his mustache and saying “I think today I’ll abuse OP!” to be abusive. Just, secretly, in the back of his mind, “My need to not be tied down with a kid trumps OP’s right to consent to an abortion/mental health/baby’s life.”

Uhh, I don’t throw around the term “abuse” lightly, but taking you a clinic where you could not receive care in your own language is... extremely, extremely icky and really ethically questionable. It speaks to a man who really did not care to hear your full input on the matter. I think if you decide this is a dealbreaker and irreparable, you would be WELL within your rights. I am very sorry this happened to you.

You could try Ketochow shakes. They’re super low carb but come in lots of sweet flavors, and you can make cookies, waffles, etc. out of them...

PLEASE read what you are saying. Healthy people don’t have three-year relationships based around phone tag. Healthy people don’t infer that you have some deep connection with this guy because he wished you well on New Year’s???? Do you have anyone else in your life weighing in on this? This is NOT a relationship, this is a prolonged delusion.

Girl, the very fact that you wrote this post and don’t recognize the obvious need for a dedicated professional to give you a reality check— that’s why I suggest therapy.

That sub seems like WGTOW Lite™️. Same negative, hateful energy, same cheap, degrading tactics as the men use. Didn’t see much about finding lasting happiness in a relationship. Maybe I’m not seeing the point. What makes you say OP would find it valuable?

Have you read The Surrendered Single by Laura Doyle? That would be a good place to start thinking about what kind of man will actually make you happy. Also, I noticed that you used the term “RP man” a lot. Please know that the women here are not going to recommend going out in search of a guy that frequents TRP and is into “manosphere” authors. You want to find a high value guy, who treats you well, is faithful, has ambition and work ethic, etc. not a “red pilled man”. There’s some, but not an o…

I think this guy showed you exactly who he was initially— someone who has cheated, who has been bankrupt before, who can’t hold down a stable job— and you didn’t vet him well enough before committing. Past behavior is the most reliable indicator of future behavior. I think you need to calibrate your “picker” before you invest in another guy. I think you should not give him a second chance if he approaches you again.

For Women Only/For Men Only by Shaunti Feldhahn Any and all titles by Laura Doyle
/r/RedPillWomen05/01/20 06:37 PM

Have you already tried Marie Kondo? I know maybe some consider her overrated but I found the books very enjoyable to read and implement. If your library offers Libby, I was able to rent both of her books for free. The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning and The House that Cleans Itself are also pretty good.

I don’t exactly see why you’re being downvoted. Maybe because you’re a man using TRP lingo. I think you’re right in that any actually high-value man who leaves a relationship isn’t going to be Facebook stalking you to insecurely compare salaries with the new guy.

His patience and forgiving nature seems to have increased since then. He never, ever, ever raises his voice or loses his temper with me. He also has such a work ethic, even though it’s not the work he is most deeply passionate about. The scope of his responsibilities at work has increased by 2-3x since he started.
