It’s always interesting to observe the comments of others in reply to a post you’ve put up; more often than not, despite the best efforts of the authors, the comments invariably seem to veer off onto some other ish that’s got little to nothing to do with the actual topic in the first place.
Today’s comments were no different. Bloggers OneSTDV and Sofia, of “Girl Game” renown, have posted comments in yesterday’s post about Haiti, when the actual topic was about how and why Men are EXPECTED to “settle” moreso than Women. Unsurprisingly though, I kinda expected Mr. One to do this, as he almost never comments on sexual-social relations, *particularly his own*, which begs the question: does he even have such relations at all? At any rate, his Aspergy-commentary, devoid of human compassion, is to be expected.
What’s a bit surprising however, is Sofia’s remarks, at least for me-I
don’t know her particularly well, but I’ve seen enough of her over the past year to get the sense that she’s basically an “honorary White” and somewhat privileged young lady who, as it is common these days, really has no idea about how the realworld works or what life is truly all about. But I always took her to be harmless if a bit grating. Her comments made here, and those made on her own blog (which I won’t link to, go look it up for ourself if you’re so inclined) on the Haitian disaster, only goes to confirm what I said on my original post on the matter:
That tough times don’t shape character; they reveal it.
The one good, I’d say great thing, that has come out of this truly horrific disaster-and I have friends, good friends of longstanding, who just happen to Haitian-they’re like family to me-is that we get to see just what people are made of. As has been pointed out to me recently, a very similar horrific earthquake went down in Kobe, Japan roughly 15 years ago, and I don’t recall anyone entertaining the kind of “dispassionate”, “objective” discussions of why aid should have been given to the Japanese people, or sophomoric declarations of why they “didn’t care” about it. Maybe such discussions were taking place-the Internet as we now know it was in its infancy, so it could be argued that we’ll never know for certain-but using Occam’s Razor here, it really doesn’t take a lot of mental gyrations to see what’s really going on.
A very popular strain of thought in our corner of the blogosphere is the notion of skewering Political Correctness; first, it was the “Angry White Males” who led the charge; now we see that they’re being joined by their “sisters” (Lady Raine is a good example) and now even those who aspire to be their “wannabe” sisters, in young ladies like Ms. Sofia. They take pride in their self-appointed duty of roasting the body politic’s sacred cows on the spit; they wear their idea of Iconoclastism on their sleeves as if a badge of honor; they revel in being jerks and bungholes out of some deeply misguided sense of “keeping it real”.
What a sick, pathetic joke they are, a putrid sight to behold indeed. It would be one thing if these people were true standard bearers of unpopular thought and belief-they would earn my respect for sure-but they are no such heroic figures. I mean, think about it-One’s a part of one of largest and most respected educational institutions in the history of Human Beings-if he truly stood for “truth” why does he blog from the shadows? And Ms. Sofia? Let’s just say, that perhaps it is not her lack of feminine charm that prevents her from finding the Man of her dreams, marrying him and keeping, but perhaps something a bit pernicious in her soul that turns such worthy Men off?
I’m just sayin’.
As one who does not believe in chance happenings or accidents, it is definitely quite prescient to note that the worst natural distaster to strike the world’s first Black Democracy, one that threw off Slavery decades before any of the Great Powers of the World, and nascent United States did so, who happen when the latter nation now has, for the first tme in its national history, a Black President. Indeed, the “coincidences” here are so blatantly obvious, that one hardly needs to point them out, or the kinds of reactions we’re seeing in people like the one aforementioned, and others like Rush Limbaugh.
To OneSTDV: the reason I and my readers, of which Ms. Chic Noir was one, took you to task was quite clear-no matter how hard you tried to dress up your commentary in the gard of dispassionate academe, in truth they were little more than thinly veiled race-baiting, if not out and out hating on Black folks, peppered with “woe is me-ism” in your bringing up a tornado-stricken Iowa. As Cinque Malcolm Powell, another commenter on this site wrote in response to your asinine remarks, that to attempt to equate the aforementioned tornado to a massive earthquake that has destabilized the entire nation, all in the name of “reverse racism”, really says something about your own twisted and demented ways of looking at the world. The uproar from this sight had to have had done some good-you soon admitted the error of your ways. The post remains on the previous Haiti thread. Perhaps you aren’t a lost cause afterall.
As for Lady Sofia, I’ll say this: at the very least, you have revealed yourself to be an utterly self-absorbed, vapid and overly-entitled lass who wouldn’t know hard times if it gave you the pimp hand in downtown Toronto at high noon. I’m not one to engage in petty personal attacks, so I’ll refrain from your looks-but assuming you were indeed a bonafide HB10 all day, everyday, your spirit is what makes you ugly. And if you and I were together sharing a meal and such effluent pour from your mouth at that time, I would immediately end the meal and depart, with, God willing, the hope of never seeing you again in this life, or the next. Life is hard enough as it is, than having to deal with know-nothings who spew their bile in the name of being something other than they are not.
Now, adjourn your amoral, Godless, & sickened pretentious arses…
