I attend a military academy which shares a campus with a girls school. This morning I was getting coffee with my friend who we will call Erica. While we were waiting in line another friend, who we can call Claire, shows up and begins to talk to Erica. While Claire and Erica are speaking I grabbed Claire's hair and pretended to choke her with her own hair. She could definitely breathe, and I did not apply any pressure at all. Erica thought it was funny and Claire did not take it well. She asked why I did it and I told her that I randomly wondered if she could be choked with her own hair and apologized for upsetting her. The next period a friend in my unit told me that Claire was hysterical and wondering if I was on drugs for attempting to choke her out. I shrugged it off and laughed it off as Claire over reacting. Third Period my counselor walked into my class and told me to walk to the Deputy Commandants office. OHSHIT.JPEG....

On the walk over he told me that she had called her father crying, stating that " I couldn't breathe as he tried to choke me out"... HOLYBALLS.mpeg. When I got to the Deputy Commandants office I sat down and the Colonel began to ask me why I attempted to choke out Claire. I replied saying that Claire was exaggerating and that I had Erica as a witness. The Colonel then proceeds to tell me that because it is a woman's word against mine that the school has no option but to ignore what I am saying. After I point out that this is a double standard he tells me that it is a double standard and I just have to accept it. He also tells me that if the situation had been reversed and I had been "almost choked to death" that he would have laughed it off and told me to "get your ass out of my office". I finally gave up trying to reason with the Colonel and just sat there as he lectured me and ignored the fact that Claire had lied and no harm was done.

After I was released I went to my fourth period class and then school ended. When I arrived at the dorm my counselor pulled me into his office to talk to me some more. He told me that I needed to apologize to Claire and or face harsher consequences than the lecture I had been given. I replied stating that I was not going to apologize because I had not done what she accused me of doing. My counselor then got upset and asked if I wanted to speak with the Commandant of Cadets (dean) about this. After I told him that it was unfair that I was in trouble and I showed him a text message from Erica which reads: "...she could definitely breathe, she was talking to me while you pretended to choke her..." My counselor proceeded to yell at me for trying to blow up the situation and not just accept the consequences for what I had done wrong. He told me I needed to stop "playing lawyer" and realize that even though she lied that "in the real world woman are always right. Their word will always trump yours." It gets even better because Erica was asked to write a statement in Claire's defense and she told me that she wrote down that Claire was over exaggerating and blew up a trivial matter. I simply told my counselor that I would apologize, and then graduate, and be done with it. My plan is to give a passive aggressive apology that her hamster mind is too naive to realize isn't sincere and graduate. I'm just appalled at the amount of sexism that is coming from faculty at my school and my own counselor and the amount of fear behind taking my side.

I could easily attempt to give her an honor offense (a big deal at my school) but I know the school will not be on my side even though Erica's statement supports everything I said to the Colonel.

TL;DR : I pretend to choke girl without hurting her in any way, she says I almost choked her out. Faculty at school take her side even after I prove she lied and openly support sexism against males.
