Boys, treat others at least as well as they treat you.

Girls, treat others at least as poorly as they treat you.

I had an epiphany last night, and it is that, in general, this is what gendered advice tends to boil down to; the advice for boys/men is as old as anything, it's the Golden Rule, do unto others and all that; the advice for girls/women is predicated on the idea that men will fulfill the former, and/or that women are innately deserving of reverence.
