Strong eye contact is HUGE, seriously I can't overstate how important it is, just use common sense and don't be creepy about it. When you're talking and your eyes meet keep yours locked on hers and let her break contact first. It almost doesnt even matter what you say.

Watch guys who are good at flirting.

Sit in public and observe the guys who are successful and consider what they say, and, more importantly, how they carry themselves and the tone they use. (You can also do this to learn comedic timing, a more general skill.)

Also practice, particularly on random people you interact with, however briefly. It's easy to flirt for thirty seconds while paying for your overpriced latte at Starbucks when you know the interaction is going to end very quickly one way or another.

And remember that everyone strikes out. You won't be flawless 100% of the time.
